SAP Crystal Dashboard licensing query

Hello All,
We need to purchase Xcelsius license, SAP Accounts rep has provided following link for online store where I can see Departmental edition, Personal edition and dashboard viewing licenses.

My question is we already have SAP BO premium 10 CPU licenses, we just need dashboard feature to be added on top of it. We need 3 dashboard developer licenses and a large audience should view the live dashboards.
Please suggest which license should we go with, as per my understanding we dont require viewing license as we already have 10 CPU premium license with which we can use all the features.
I know this query should be asked to the accounts rep but unfortunately I am not getting proper response from them and we need to purchase this ASAP.
Any idea would be of great help.

Hi Sohel,
I look after pricing and licensing for SAP BusinessObjects BI.
BOE Premium does not provide for Xcelsius Dashboard viewing rights. BOE Premium includes Crystal Reports, Webi and OLAP Intelligence viewing rights. Xcelsius was acquired after the release of BOE Premium and it is an add-on to that license model.
To view dashboards integrated with BO Premium, you will need the Xcelsius Interactive Viewing license.
Note that this is a legacy license model. Current customers can purchase more of this but we have been positioning the BI Suite to new customers since 2011.

    I still have the requirement to maintain dashboards created with Xcelsius 2008 SP5. Will the install of SAP Crystal Dashboard Design: Departmental overwrite or disable the ability to run Xcelsius 2008 on the same machine?

    Thank you for the reply. I am not sure I phrased the question very well, as I said in the post I am aware Personal Edition does not require viewing licenses. What I was asking was whether the 'internal business use only' clause in the EULA prevented dashboards built with Personal Edition from being placed on external company sites?
    If anyone could provide an answer to this it would be greatly appreciated.

  • Differene between SAP Crystal Dashboard Design and Presentation Design

    Dear All,
    SAP Crystal Dashboard Design
    SAP Crystal Presentation Design
    Somehow I am failing in installation of the both versions to find the difference whereas the price variation between these two are so high.
    Can anyone brief me the exact difference between above two.
    Again inside the TAB of any one of the above we see there are 2 versions named Departmental and Personal Edition in which Personal Edition costs too high.  Unable to know why such difference in pricing that too for personal edition.

  • Install problem - SAP Crystal Dashboard Design, departmental edition

    I download a departmental edition trial version and I tried install it.
    When finish a message said the installing was fine but then apears another message "Missing installdir reg key for installinverse, required for uninstall.
    Key: SOFTWARE\SAP BusinessObjects\Suite XI 4.0\Installer\aurora
    Value: Path"
    Then another message saying a Runtime Error.
    I have a windows 7 ultimate 64 based with a 2010 SP1 Office 32 edition.

  • SAP Crystal Dashboard Design Personal Edition - Lifeoffice available

    We like to build a dashboard on Crystal Report Server
    We wanted use the CRS + SAP Crystal Dashboard Design Personal Edition + CR or CRS + the package (CR + CX)
    Does that include the lifeoffice Connecion?

    No direct way.  But I had a similar requirement.  Our team updates a central spreadsheet and our managers wanted to have a dashboard to reflect information entered on it.  I ended up writing a VBA Macro using an XSD schema to use Excel XML Maps to export the spreadsheet data to .XML at the click of a button.
    Then, in an Xcelsius model, I imported that same Excel XML Mapping .XSD schema into my model, and pointed it to the location of the exported XML file to then have "live" data whenever the source Excel file was saved.  It seems an around the world way to get to Excel data (albeit in a separate file), seeing as the tool was originally written with Excel being the central focus. 
    There's also a more lengthly route to do it, but treating the Excel file as an ODBC source for a Crystal Report which Live Office will recognize which you can then use as a connection to Xcelsius, but that seemed even more painful for our purposes but in theory works.

  • SAP Crystal Dashboard Design 2008, personal edition, full product download

    Hi, can anyone tell me what I need to do after downlaoding 2008 personal edition?
    I've tried to run the install file but I keep getting a window that tells me "Microsoft XP and later applications: Excel, Word, Outlook or PowerPoint must be pre-installed".
    But my laptop is already installed with MS XP and MS Office 2010.

    Office 2010 is not supported in Xcelsius 2008. Check this blogpost for a workaround.

    The statement from the Roadmap and the Faq are politically correct,SAP says they will stop the future develoment or would be limited ,its like reading between the lines in particular this quote
    "Projects requiring an Excel OLAP Integration should be carried out with BEx Analyzer 7.0. The tool is safe for 8+ years, and customers will be able to upgrade to Pioneer Excel. "

  • Crystal report license query

    1)      Do Company A (which is a group of companies consisting of Company 1 u2026.. Company N), require the Developer License only, and distribution to its group company  is free?
    2)      If u2018Company 1..Company Nu2019 are sub-companies of Company A then does 'Company 1', u2026.. , 'Company N' require full engine of Crystal Report 2008 or just the run time engine is sufficient?
    Do they require license for the same, even if they just use the run time engine?
    3)      In case where 'Company 1',u2026., 'Company N' purchase a license, in that case, does 'Company A' still needs to purchase the developer license?
    4)      According to you what would be the best license option, so that there is no burden on 'Company 1',u2026.., 'Company N' and also on parent company A?

    To start with, the licensing is different for web apps and win apps. Also licensing is different depending on what version of CR you are using. I'll set you up with a few resources and if these do not answer your questions, you will have to contact sales for more info.

  • SAP Crystal Dashboard Design 2008 - where to re-download software?

    Hi,
    My work laptop was just uprgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7 and I cannot find the software anywhere to re-install it.  I found the order confirmation email and managed to login to re-download it, but when I clicked "begin download" I got a message saying that it was too old to download!
    Can anyone advise?

  • SAP xcelsius dashboard advice

    Hi,
    We are looing at investing in SAP dashboarding, but looking at whats available its confusing to decide which package we need. The requirement is to be able to create dashboards but also link data to query designer.
    I have looked at the sap page and seems like we need SAP Crystal Dashboard Design, Departmental Edition but im not sure.
    is there anyone out there who is using xcelsius with queries for data source, can you please advice if we need to consider any extras such as intergrators servers etc.

  • SAP Crystal Runtime 13 - free to use?

    Hi,
    We have a few third party systems that use SAP Crystal Runtime. What we have currently is version XI.
    Just wanted to find out that if its free to upgrade to 13? Not aware of any licensing agreements we have with SAP given that we don't use any of the designer, analytics, dashboard tools. It's just really Runtime
    I have tried downloading the latest version from the website below and actually tried installing and did not get prompted for any licenses or registration.

    Hi Kate,
    You cannot simply update those older third party applications to the newer versions of our runtime. Only those creators of the application can do that.
    Downloading and installing from the link you used will do nothing for those applications.
    To get updates you need to contact the makers and ask them if they support version 13 runtime and they have to provide you with an update installer.
    As for licensing, they are responsible to handle that part. If you want to have a look here's the link:

  • Crystal reports on SAP-BW 3.5 query - problem w. properties of key figures

    Dear experts,
    Creating a crystal report on a SAP-BW 3.5 query we have the following problem:
    In SAP-BW query we defined a restricted key figure with property
    'Calculate single value as Ranked list (olympic)'.
    Within SAP-BW it works correctly; in Crystal Reports we see the
    key figure without the defined property.
    Example
    SAP-BW

    Could anyone give us an advice to solve this?
