SAP DB size comparison based on timestamp

Hello All,
Need a quick help regarding DB size.
Is there any provision to know what was the DB size in a particular (past) timestamp?
Background of this query:
I need to have a comparison of DB size before and after client copies in a system.
Thanks in advance

  • Pick up Files based on Timestamp???.

    HI All,
Is it possible to pick up the files in the order of which they are put in a shared folder ?.
Our client system will put the xml files in a shared folder with timestamps..PI will pick these files one by one..but if the PI server is down.. the files will keep coming in the shared folder from the client system..and when PI come back up they need to be picked in the order in which they have been put according to timestamp.
    I'am using the NFS functionality.
I dont want to output files from PI based on timestamp added.. I want to pick files up based upon sender timestamp.
Is this funcationality supported in PI?.
    Thanks.

    HI
You can write script to do this. Script can copy files based on time stamp from the folder where client system is putting the file to the folder PI is poling based on timestamp.
With this as Ratan said. If the file creation date for file system is in date and time format(timestamp) File processing sequence by Date can help. It process file starting from oldest file.
    Thanks

  • Generic delta based on timestamp ?

    Hello BW Experts,
For a generic datasource involving the sales order data what is the best option for the delta type timestamp / calender day / numeric pointer. I am in the opinion of the timestamp as the records are based on timestamp. let me know if I correct.
    Thanks,
    BWer

    hi,
yes, it's depend on the extract structure (your table/view/fm), F1 info :
    1. Time stamp - The field is a DEC15 field which always contains the time stamp of the last change to a record in the local time format.
    2. Calendar day - The field is a DATS8 field which always contains the day of the last change.
    3. Numerical pointer - The field contains another numerical pointer that appears with each new record.
    hope this helps.

  • BOM comparison based on Installation point of Subitems

    Hi All,
Can I do a BOM comparison based on the installation position of the sub items?
There is an option to select the installation point in "sort by install point" in the "further selection" screen. But it is not getting populated in when I execute CS14. Please advice. Thanks.

    Hi Mr.Pradeep Rao,
Could you please give me your mail id.
I will send you the screen shots, to compare the BOM's based on the sort by installation point.
The system is not showing directly in CS14.
<b><u>Procedure:</u></b> is once after doing the necessary settings under Further settings page, give the BOM details and VALID from date & click on Diff.Comparison.
In the next page,I hope you must be knowing the BOM item for which sub item exists. and the item quantity must be same in both the BOM's.
You will be able to see the symbol for that BOM item showing Similar component (Red Color Button).
Just Double click on that symbol(Comparison result symbol) and the system pops upa new screen, there you brach out the node -Sub Items-Comparison By installation Point. Now you can see the items based on installation point.
I hope in this way you will be able to see the items compared on installation point.
<b>If this solves your problem ,Please reward maximum points and Close the thread as answered.</b>
    Thanks & Regards

On Unix system you can get help for specific commands by using
    man <commandname>
If you execute "man du" you will see, that "du" means "disk usage" and options "-s" and "-k" means "sum of directory" and "in kilobyte". The numbers are the sizes of the directories.

  • WSDL Data connection not working - SAP Interactive Forms(Adobe Based)

    Greetings,
I am trying to explore the features of Adobe based forms in SAP (WAS 6.4) and have been trying to create an interactive form.
I am trying to use the WSDL file Data Connection but with no success. This is what I have been doing, starting with a blank form in the "Layout" tab,
       - In the "Data View", created a "New Data Connection".
       - Selected "WSDL file" Option.
       - Browsed to and selected the desired WSDL file.
       - Selected the WebService Option listed (Only one in my case).
The WebService in this case is programed to "Request" two numbers and "Response" back the sum. (This was just for trial).
    - The connection subsequently appeared in the "Data View".
       - Expanded the "Request" and "Response" trees and dragged the elements to the "Body Page" screen.
       - Dragged the Data Connection Button to the screen.
       - On the Properties of the Button, Went to the "Object" tab and then to the "Execute" tab.
       - Checked "Re-Merge Form Data" and Run at "Client and Server"
       - Generated the PDF Preview
       - On the preview, entered the values for the "Requested" fields and clicked the button. It displays the error message "Couldn't post data to ".
This was my long story, but with this background, what I want to know is:
       - How do i get it to work, I expected to see the sum in the field.
       - What is meant by running at "Client or Server".
We do use a proxy server to connect to the Internet.
As a bottom line, I intend to make an interactive form with which I can display real-time transactional data on the form from our R/3 46C server based on a user input on the form itself (eg: PO info on entering of PO number on the form output itself)
    Best Regards,
    Sanyam Kapur

    Hi Sanyam,
Looking for messages with zero reply I have found yours.
Even if it is some time ago, when you posted the message, I would like to give some hints here:
Web Dynpro does not allow to access data coming directly from a Web Service and display it within a pdf file. You need to create a Web Service modell first. Then you would bind the InteractiveForm property to the context and the data can be shown.
    Hope that helps.
    Best regards,

  • Sample Size Calculation based on the results

    Dear all
I have a scenario as below
for a product the upper and lower specification is given as below
    Upper spec 19.00mm
    Standard  18.00mm
    Lower spec 17.00mm
my client is having ranges as below
    Range 1
    Upper spec 19.0 to 18.75
    Lower spec 17.0 to 17.25
    Range 2
    Upper spec 18.75 to 18.50
    Lower spec 17.25 to 17.50
    Range 3
    Upper spec 18.50 to 18.25
    Lower spec 17.50 to 17.75
    Range 4
    Upper spec 18.25 to 18.00
    Lower spec 17.75 to 18.00
    a) Initially the sample size is 50%. Starts with range 4 .
    b) if consecutive 5 receipts are ok we want to switch to range 3 - sample size 25%.
    c) if consecutive 5 receipts are ok we want to switch to range 2 sample size 10%
    e) and range 1 sample size 5%.
    f) if there is any rejection at any range, then reset to range 4.
    g) if out of specification noticed then the next incoming material will be inspection in the next lowest range. ie in range 1 out of specification noticed shift to range 2 in the next Goods receipt.
I know that Sampling scheme can be used but how to link the specifications in it.
How to link this in SAP QM.

    Hi Sri,
As per your requirement you have to create 4 MIC as well as 4 DMR follow the below step.
    1. Create MIC1,MIC2,MIC3,MIC4
    2. Create DMR1,DMR2,DMR3,DMR4
    3. Assign the DMR at MIC level.
             a) Go to QP01 In Header data screen choose Dynamic mod. level DMR at character level. (Don't assign any DMR here)
             b) In Characteristics screen assign DMR to MIC
    (Range1) MIC1 - DMR1
    (Range2) MIC2 - DMR2
    (Range3) MIC3 - DMR3
    (Range4) MIC4 - DMR4
    Save the Inspection plan.

  • Java vs. C/C++ binary size comparison

I am looking for a paper or study that gives a comparison of the byte-code size of various Java and C++ programs. Specifically, I am trying to compare native code implementations for different machine arcithectures vs. doing the same thing in a Java program. I am not interested in speed comparisons.

Java class files tend to be very very very very small, however the JVM must be implemented in C, and heavyweight components rely upon the underlying operating system's C implementations of such visual components. Class files are more modular than Executables, and simply don't have to include entire gigantic libraries of information. You can think of everything as being more like a .DLL than compiling all of the same functionality directly into the file. The speed tends to rely on the Virtual machine you're using, just as C and C++ programs tend to rely on what they were compiled for, and what libraries they are using to display their GUI. There are many studies about the speed of java byte code in relation to native C/C++ code. However, you should realize that the java compiler does a lot of automagical bounds checking, and prevents a great deal of unsafe optimizations. You can find many native compilers, and many virtual machines that will allow you to turn off these checks, and then you can fairly compare the speed of byte code with that of native code.

  • T-code or SAP Table Sales report based on Document Pricing Procedure

    Hi Experts,
Please suggest me some SAP Standard T-code or Sales Report based on Document Pricing Procedure and Sales Area.
Or suggest me SAP Table for the above mentioned combination. Thanks in advance.
    With Best Regards,
    Bharat B

    Hi
There is no standard t code available. You have to go for Zee using the below tables
first you need to get the VBAK-KALSM(Pricing procedure)or VBRK-KALSM  next you have to pass the VBAK-KALSM to table T683V-KALSM(field) now you will get all the Document Pricing Procedures (KALVG) assigned to these pricing procedures along with sales area.
So using these tables you can get the required data.

  • Integration of SAP Portal with Shibboleth based CUA?

We are running SAP Portal NetWeaver EhP1 on LINUX RH-EL 5 with ORACLE 10.2.0.4. We are interested in integrating authentication to the SAP Portal with our web single sign-on system, which is based on Internet2's Shibboleth software. We would like to use our Shibboleth CUA to authenticate users and give them access to our SAP Enterprise Portal as well as to the SAP ABAP systems.
Has anyone done something similar and if so, what were the results or limitations encountered?
What is the underlying web server / product on which the Portal is based? Specifically, is it Apache httpd? If so, which version?
Can it support the use of third party Apache modules, e.g. the Shibboleth Service Provider (SP) Apache module for authentication?
If not, is it possible to run the portal fronted by Apache httpd? (Note that the Shibboleth SP software requires the use of Apache httpd on Linux servers.)
Can the portal be configured to honor the REMOTE_USER setting passed by the web server/container for authentication, instead of requiring a username/password to be entered?
If the portal cannot support the use of the Shibboleth Service Provider software for authentication, what are the other possible configuration options for authentication (besides username/password)?
What support, if any, is there for SAML-based authentication?
Will the portal interoperate with a Shibboleth Identity Provider (IdP)? Can you point us at documentation for this?
    Thank-you,
    Deb Nugent

    Hi,
interesting questions. Portal is running on top of Netweaver platform (Java stack). Hence no Apache web server. I doubt that it supports any Apache modules. You can use Apache as reversed proxy in front of SAP portal. Check note 480520 with attached configuration guide. I don't know answer for your question regarding REMOTE_USER setting.
SAP portal supports all standard [authentication methods|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/8a/cb136e68592f478266d19bb2b89766/frameset.htm] supported by Netweaver. Probably the only possible way is to use [SAML|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/94/695b3ebd564644e10000000a114084/frameset.htm]. [Here|http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/tivoli/library/t-cssosap/index.html] is a how-to guide how to set up SSO based on SAML between Tivoli and Netweaver applicaiton server.
Also search on net. I found links to interesting presentations (e.g. [this one|http://www.switch.ch/aai/support/presentations/ws-sap-2010/ETHZ_AAI_SAP_SAML_Artifact.pdf]).

  • Oracle Toad 9.0- selection of rows based on timestamp

    Hi,
I am using Oracle Toad 9.0 and am trying to pull records based on the timestamp they were modified.
To be more specific, i want to pull out the objects which were modified between 28th March 2011 and April 3rd 2011.
In my understanding it should return rows which were modified between 12 am 28th March till 11.59pm April 3rd,
Please let me know if this is correct..
If this is correct then i have a problem where the objects modified on April 3rd(12.00am to 11.59pm) are not being pulled.
    Query used:
select * from tablename where cast(obj_mod_dt as date) between '28-Mar-2011' and '03-Apr-2011'
-- Results have objects modified from 28th March 12.00am to 02 Apr 11.59pm
Please let me know on why it behaves indifferently.

select * from tablename where cast(obj_mod_dt as date) between '28-Mar-2011' and '03-Apr-2011'Is obj_mod_dt not already a DATE datatype?
Why are you comparing a DATE to strings?
I think perhaps you are looking more for something like this:
    select *
    from tablename
where cast(obj_mod_dt as date) between to_date('28-Mar-2011','DD-Mon-YYYY') and to_date('04-Apr-2011','DD-Mon-YYYY')-(1/86400)or
    select *
    from tablename
    where cast(obj_mod_dt as date) >= to_date('28-Mar-2011','DD-Mon-YYYY')
and cast(obj_mod_dt as date) < to_date('04-Apr-2011','DD-Mon-YYYY')Of course if obj_mod_dt is already a date column then there's no need to cast it.
If it's not a date column, then what is it? Is it varchar2? If so you should be explicit in the conversion to a DATE datatype e.g.
where to_date(obj_mod_dt,'DD-Mon-YYYY') ...and ensure you specify the correct date format for it.
Otherwise you are relying on implicit datatype conversions and it's likely that it'll break somewhere.

  • Generic Delta based off TimeStamp field is extracting full load

I have a generic delta in place which is extracting a full load every time instead of only extracting the changes.
I have created a generic delta based off a timestamp using a "Last Changed by" field of type Dec15, format YYYYMMDDHHMMSS.
This datasource is populated via a FM which is only used to update two fields, all other fields (including last changed by field) are taken straight from the source table. Entries to the last changed by field are entered like this:
20080310021530, then show up like this: 20,080,310,021,530.
All relevent entries are showing in the tables ROOSOURCE, ROOSGENDLM, and ROOSPRMSC. There is also an entry in RSA7, status Green, Total = 1, and Status is showing the correct Delta relevent field as well as the correct timestamp of the last extraction.
    The entry in ROOSGENDLM contains:
    Current Pointer          Repeat Pointer
    20080320091503       20080320091653
Yet every time I extract a "delta" from BI, it pulls a full load.
Does anyone have an idea of how I can get the generic delta to work properly? I'm using 7.0 transformation/DTP. This field in BI uses a routine to convert the timestamp to a date field. Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

I think I found the issue. This timestamp is UTC timestamp, and until we implement SP13 (which is being onboarded in a week), this type of timestamp is not delta-relevent. Only timestamps on the local application server are delta-relevent pre-SP13, which can cause issues if the time is updated in a different timesone (to the east) of the application server.
The following note corrects this issue:
