SAP DB2 migration to 9.5 having issues after database restore
Hello All,
We are migrating our database from version DB2 8.2 to 9.5. We have successfully migrated our environment. Now we are trying to restore the old backup of the database (8.2) to the migrated instance. The restore worked fine but it asked us to migrate the database. When we run the MIGRATE DATABASE command it returns the following error.
SQL1704N Database migration failed. Reason code "17". (SYSCAT tablespace space not enough)
But to extend the tablespace we are not able to connect to the database. We get the following error if we try to connect.
SQL5035N The database requires migration to the current release.
So we cannot run either command. Can anyone please suggest how to resolve this issue?
Deepak
Hello Malte,
We are using the below commands for the backup and restore.
The backup was taken when the database was still at 8.2 version
db2 "backup database QA2 online to file1,file2,file3,file4,file5,file6,file7,file8,file9,file10,file11,file12 with 8 buffers parallelism 4 without prompting"
db2 restore db QA2 from /backupold/QA2-offline taken at 20090807001234 redirect
db2 "ALTER TABLESPACE SYSCATSPACE ADD (FILE '/sapdata8/SYSCATSPACE.container002' 1000000 K) ON NODE ( 0 )"
db2 "ALTER TABLESPACE SYSCATSPACE ADD (FILE '/sapdata8/SYSCATSPACE.container003' 1000000 K) ON NODE ( 0 )"
db2 restore db QA2 continue
db2qa2> db2 restore db QA2 continue
SQL1651N The request cannot be executed because the DB2 server version does
not support this functionality.
Hope this helps you provide soem inputs.
Thanks
Deepak

Having issues after installing Essbase V9.3.1,configuring the SQL interface
I am having issues after installing Essbase V9.3.1 and configuring the SQL interface. we are using UNIX/AIX box for our Essbase server and UDB DB2 9.1 SP6 as our SQL Interface.
When tried to run an ESSCMD script to perform BUILDDIM operation on Essbase application using the load rule (with the SQL interface), got the error as recorded in the application log file and is attached at the bottom and the .odbc.ini file on the server looks as follows.
Can somebody tell me whether .odbc.ini needs any correction or what else should I do to correct the issue and able to work thru using SQL interface? Appreciate any help provided in this regard. Thanks,

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I had similar errors when first setting up the SQL interface. Are you on a 64 bit operating system on the essbase server? If so Essbase needs to use the 32 bit odbc driver, not the default 64 bit driver.
The 32 bit driver is still available here SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe <-----This is the 32 bit (Use)
The Administrative tools by default uses system32\odbcad32.exe <----This is the 64 bit (Don't Use)
Once I opened the 32 bit driver interface directly and set it up the errors went away. -
Dreamweaver CS4 having issues after installing PS CS6 Beta
Hi All,
I'm having issues with Dreamweaver CS4 after installing Photoshop CS6 Beta. I'm getting the follwing erros when trying to open any html file (see attached image).
Once I click OK, the file will open, also now; any copy and paste commands will not work. Anyone else experiencing any problems with other apps after installing this beta version?
Any help and feedback is much appreciated, thanks!Re :Re: Dreamweaver CS4 having issues after installing PS CS6 Beta
Just a thought ...
This may help!
Uninstall the Beta Version of Photoshop CS6 now and then restart your computer and see if that works.
Open the CS4 programs and see if that fixed the problem and it is all working as it should again.
It is worth a try!
All the best. -
Having issue restarting database after switching mount point
We needed to change the mount point of the disk that has our mount points, so instead of going to /opt, it going to /opt/san/mdb4. I have created a control file to use to start up the database, but I'm still having issues. Here is part of the control file:
CREATE CONTROLFILE REUSE SET DATABASE "INVEST" RESETLOGS NOARCHIVELOG
MAXLOGFILES 64
MAXLOGMEMBERS 2
MAXDATAFILES 254
MAXINSTANCES 16
MAXLOGHISTORY 1815
LOGFILE
GROUP 1 (
'/opt/san/mdb4/db02/oradata/INVEST/redo01a.log',
'/opt/san/mdb4/db03/oradata/INVEST/redo01b.log'
) SIZE 50M,
etc....
DATAFILE
'/opt/san/mdb4/db02/oradata/INVEST/XXX.dbf',
'/opt/san/mdb4/db03/oradata/INVEST/XXX01.dbf',
'/opt/san/mdb4/db07/oradata/INVEST/XXX02.dbf',
'/opt/san/mdb4/db07/oradata/INVEST/XXX03.dbf',
'/opt/san/mdb4/db03/oradata/INVEST/XXX04.dbf',
'/opt/san/mdb4/db03/oradata/INVEST/XXX05.dbf',
'/opt/san/mdb4/db03/oradata/INVEST/XXX06.dbf',
etc...
CHARACTER SET UTF8
All of the files are in the correct spot. I have also edited the init.ora file so that the directories are correct. This is the error that I get every time:
CREATE CONTROLFILE REUSE SET DATABASE "INVEST" RESETLOGS NOARCHIVELOG
ORA-01503: CREATE CONTROLFILE failed
ORA-00449: background process 'DBW0' unexpectedly terminated with error 7446
ORA-07446: sdnfy: bad value '' for parameter .
I am running Oracle 8.1.7 on Sun Solaris 8 (SunOS 5.8).
Does anyone have any idea what is going on? Let me know.According to error message you have syntax error in your create statement. double check it.
ORA-07446: sdnfy: bad value 'string' for parameter string.
Cause: The directory specified as the value for the stated parameter could not be used.
Action: Make sure the directory you have specified is a valid directory/file specification. -
Message inbox having issues after updating to IOS 6.1
After updating to IOS 6.1 my SMS inbox has gone crazy. Most of the SMSs have lost their date time stamp. The time of receipt of the SMS for all of them is showing as 9:18 AM, which was the time i took the update 6.1. Is anyone else facing the same issue.
Why is it so that for the last few updates in IOS, it is always the SMS inbox that is having issues? From the last update, the inbox has been showing blank SMSs, and now we have all the messages in inbox with the same time stamp.
Any idea how to rectify this issue ?i have already this problem , ios 6.1 iphone 4s
is there anyone to report this bug to apple ?
i did anything what i found in internet ( reset, restore, cleaning dock , earphone, and... )
, but still not working .... ! -
SAP failed to start after database restored to a new machine
Hi,
We have a SAp BW 3.5 running on a SQL 2000, recently our server is degraded and become unstable to host our BW server.
So we build another box with the same OS and DB version and patches, ran sapinst from the SAP DVD, upgraded the kernel to the same level as our current setup.
SAP started Ok with the kernel upgraded, however when we restored the backup to it, if fails.
I have attached the developer trace log, and hope someone can give us some help on diagnosing the issues

SAP failed to start after database restore
SAP Version: SAP R/3 Enterprise
Database: MSSQL Server 2000
OS: Windows
We had performed a database restore from the backup which was taken before the system rebuilt. The SAP failed to bring up as the dispatcher stopped due to the work processes died. After the database restore, we had run the SAP Tools for MSSQL Server but still did not manage to bring up the system. Please find below the logs for the developer trace and the dev_w0.

I've managed to bring up the SAP now after changing some parameters
in the instance profile that are pointing to D:\. It's now up and
running, but the dispatcher is in yellow colour. The status
is "Running, Message Server connection ok, Dialog Queue time: 0.00 sec,
J2EE status info unavailable". I did not select Java during the
installation. Only ABAP was selected.
I am able to login to the R/3 system now. I notice that there are some
parameters in the instance profile are related to the Java like
rdisp/j2ee_start, login/accept_sso2_ticket and etc. Is it possible that
database backup that I used to restore was from a ABAP + JAVA system?
Please see below for the dev_disp

'RH_STRUC_GET' having issues after upgrade
Hi Wokflow experts,
I have a program tha uses the FM 'RH_STRUC_GET' to get users from work centers. The FM interface is as below. It was working fine in SAP enterprise, but in ECC 6.0 this FM has stopped returning any values. It returns the exception Structure 01 A 50000100 WF_ORGUS: No agent found.
CALL FUNCTION 'RH_STRUC_GET'
EXPORTING
ACT_OTYPE = OTYPE
ACT_OBJID = OBJID
ACT_WEGID = 'WF_ORGUS'
AUTHORITY_CHECK = ' '
Can anyone suggest a solution to this problem.
Regards,
Kartik N.Hi Kartik,
Check the values you are passing to the FM. Also fetch the output of table RESULT_TAB and see if you are getting values.
CALL FUNCTION 'RH_STRUC_GET'
EXPORTING
ACT_OTYPE = <enter value>
ACT_OBJID = <enter value>
ACT_WEGID = <enter value>
AUTHORITY_CHECK = 'X'
TABLES
RESULT_TAB = result_tab
EXCEPTIONS
no_plvar_found = 01
no_entry_found = 02
OTHERS = 99.
Try passing the following values and check.

I had to restore my iPhone backup from iCloud and during downloading the backup everytime after hour or hour and half it is showed you must check your wi-fi!
is there anyway i can make the backup from iCloud using my loptop?
"btw im out of the country im in my travile trip and i cant use my iPhone at all without backup"HI,
If your old version of iTunes is still working - then I sugest you stick with that.
iTunes 11 is a lousy update - It will not retain your playlists, you can't find and delete duplicates... and a whole arry of oyher issues. (have a look around this forum to see how many issues IT11 gives people)
Just a friendly advise and warning :-) -
Is anyone else having issues after ios 7 update?
My speakers are essentially gone after the update. Anyone know how to fix this?
My iCloud randomly turns off and when it does, my Notes, Reminders, Contacts and Calendar events disappear. Turning everything back on usually fixes it, but sometimes it takes a few trials of turning it off and on to get everything back. I've also had issues sending and receiving mail and my email accounts will randomly re-order themselves on the mail screen.

Anyone else having issues after downloading the new update?
mine keeps saying this accessory may not be supported.
I have the same. Inconsistent results with different cables, charges and external battaries and computer USB ports. Not sure how to find out what is going on. There are several threads related with same topic, but none of them know the reason (several suggestions which are good for nothing)

I just did the update on my iPod touch 5th gen to version 8.1.2 and now it gets stuck in sync on applying changes. I am afraid to reset my iPod as the last time I had an iPod and needed to be reset the iPod never came back to life.

License issue after System Restore
Hello All,
We are facing an issue while doing a system restore on Windows 2003 / MS SQL 2005 / SAP 4.7D EXT 110. We followed the System copy option using SAPInst to do our system restore. When SAPinst prompted for DB import we stopped the SAPINST Tool and started our DB restore using our backup tool. Once the DB restore was successfully done , we restarted SAPINST and tried to continue with the import. However in the POST DB load step it is giving us an error as below;
ERROR
MOS-01012 PROBLEM: 'C:\usr\sap\SID\SYS\exe\run/saplicense -R3Setup SID "S782KZCP" TRACE=2' returned with '-2' which is not a defined as a success code.
Creating file C:\Program Files\sapinst_instdir\R3E47X2\COPY\IMPORT\SYSTEM\ABAP\MSS\NUC\DB\saplicense.log.
Switched to user: sidadm.
Working directory changed to C:\Program Files\sapinst_instdir\R3E47X2\COPY\IMPORT\SYSTEM\ABAP\MSS\NUC\DB.
See 'C:\usr\sap\SID\SYS\exe\run/saplicense -R3Setup SID "6FJD2I4C" TRACE=2' output in 'C:\Program Files\sapinst_instdir\R3E47X2\COPY\IMPORT\SYSTEM\ABAP\MSS\NUC\DB\saplicense.log'.
ERROR
MOS-01012 PROBLEM: 'C:\usr\sap\SID\SYS\exe\run/saplicense -R3Setup SID "6FJD2I4C" TRACE=2' returned with '-2' which is not a defined as a success code.
We upgraded the kernel to the latest version and have implemented the environment variables [ MSSQL_SCHEMA ; MSSQL_DBNAME; DIR_LIBRARY ; SAPLOCALHOST ; DBMS_TYPE etc ] . However that has not helped.
The id that we have used for the installation is not the sidadm id but an administrator id.
The saplicense.log simply reads as below;
'Tue Apr 08 23:27:29 2014
MtxInit: 0 0 0'
When we do a sapilcense -show using the administrator id it gives us the below results;
C:\usr\sap\SP1\SYS\exe\run>saplicense -show
*** SAPLICENSE (Release 640) ERROR ***
ERROR: Connect to database failed
DETAILS: DbSlConnect failed with return code 99
SQL-ERROR 0 (check DB manual for explanation)
So we logged in a separate session using sidadm and ran the same saplicense command. However we got the exact same output as above.
Then we ran a R3trans -d using the sidadm id and we got the below output;
This is R3trans version 6.13 (release 640 - 17.09.12 - 20:12:05 ).
2EETW169 no connect possible: "DBMS = MSSQL --- SERVER = 'HOSTNAME' DBNAME = 'SID'"
R3trans finished (0012).
The trans.log read as below;

Request you to kindly advise on how to resolve this issue. Is there an authentication mechanism ( similar to OPS$ in Oracle ) which is causing this issue in MSSQL.
Thanking you in advance,
Regards
SurajitHello Deepak and Matt,
Firstly Thank you for taking an interest in my issue.
@ Deepak - The SAP kernel is already at the highest level available i.e 640 Patch 414. I have also sseparately upgraded the dbsl , R3trans and tp executables.
Gentlemen , I am unable to find any option as ' SAP tools for MS SQL ' in SMP. Also the SAPINST that I am using does not have an option ' database copy completion'.
Please Note this SAPINST was downloaded from the Archive section of SMP as 640 Inst master is no longer generally available.
My system is ABAP only and Non Unicode.
Request your guidance on how to execute / download this particular tool or option for my system release.
Thanking you in advance,
Surajit. -
GeoRaster missing schema issue after database upgrade
I recently upgraded from 10.1.0.4 to 10.2.0.1. Prior to upgrade sdo_geor.schemavalidate worked fine on this database. However when I run it now, I get the below error. When I query the all_xml_schemas table http://xmlns.oracle.com/spatial/georaster/georaster.xsd is not listed. Is this the issue? We've tried this same query on a database that was installed as 10.2.0.1 and that worked fine. It's just the upgraded databases that are having this issue. What steps can i take to resolve this?
14:15:47 SQL> SELECT v.id,sdo_geor.schemavalidate(v.georaster) from student.nlcd_grids v where id = 03;

1. Check if the XML schema is allready registered:
select owner, schema_url from dba_xml_schemas
where schema_url='http://xmlns.oracle.com/spatial/georaster/georaster.xsd';
2. If no rows are returned please register the schema by running following script:
- Connect to the database as sysdba
- alter session set current_schema=MDSYS;
- @ORACLE_HOME\md\admin\sdogrxml.sql
