What are all the standard SAP delivered ESS/MSS services available for Indian market in ERP 2005.

I assume, your portal language and also all the tabs and even all the MSS services which are based on Java (par files) are in French and all the WebDynpro services (almost all of the ESS services) are still in English.
If that is the case, some of the services of ESS only have English and German, basically because you probably are using the US version of the ESS services. For example essusaddr only has English and German. But some of other services (like the MSS services and ess~cat) have all the languages. If you still see English for those service, you can manually change the language in the iView property of your service if you have an iView for them.

How to check different HR-ESS/MSS services for TMC,Succession in SE80

Hi Experts,
I am tring to check the services , i have few queries:
How to check different HR-ESS/MSS services for TMC,Succession in SE80. I want to test them,
I went through Ripository browser but could not able to locate the HR applications.
I tried with SICF but got only few service names.
Please guide me on the same.

User does not exist while accessing ESS/MSS services

Hi Experts,
I have super admin rights, ESS & MSS roles assigned to me. The services under ESS/MSS are not working in development server & production server. It is working fine in Quality server.
earlier it was working fine in dev server.
Now when i am clicking on any of the services under ESS/MSS say for eg: ess-->leave request -->leave request(service)
i am getting the following error. I have posted this question earlier but not yet solved

I have specific authorizations in the backend too
The overview page of both ESS & MSS are opening, area page is opening properly. this error is displaying only when i click on the services in the area page.
pls tell me how to access these services without this error???

Thanks to both of you for your quick replies.
The user ID in both the portal and backed are same and the same user is existing in the infotype 0105. with start date 1.11.2007 and end date as 31.12.9999
the user ID in portal created on 06.11.2007
when i checked the start date in the backend, it was not mentioned.
So i changed both the backend start date and infotype 0105 date to 09.04.2008 and end date as 31.12.2008.
still i am facing same problem. any help pls

You need to identify technical details of the application which you intended to modify.
After identifying the component whether WDJ or WDA.
If you are customizing the code of standard components when you upgrade latest pacakges your customization code will be over Written.
To analyze the code if it is WDJ you should have NWDI Tracks installaed deployed the code.After NWDI ready import Tracks into the NWDS download the projects which ever you want.
To analyze the code if it is WDA go to se80 open WD Component based on your technical details.

@ram manohar .....I don't think you understood the original question.
For ESS/MSS, there are several country-specific delivered services. What is available will depend on your version. For ESS, there are several. For MSS, not many (if any, I can think of off-hand). I would highly suggest you go to help.sap.com and select your backend version and then look at the chapters on ESS/MSS which will list ALL country-specific delivered services. If a service is NOT delivered for your country of need, you can also "reuse Country-Specific applications which is detailed in the configuration documentation in the IMG itself (basically you make entries in a table that says "when you see THIS molga, use the service that is associated with this OTHER molga instead").

Deploying ESS/MSS

Hi,
We are having some issues with regards to Self Services. We have done a EP7.01 deployment and updated the J2EE Core components. We also installed the XSS Business Packages. All this was done using JSPM and is visible under deployed components.
Now the issue arose when a apps consultant noticed an error:

Now it seems that if the XSS services were deployed then they would be visible in Visual Administrator under the "deploy" service ->webdynpro along with the big list there is already. Now i cannot find this "essuspdata" or any other ESS/MSS service there, which suggests that it may not be installed or deployed or started. Now correct me if i am wrong, all deployment should be done via JSPM not SDM? I had a look in SDM for curious reasons and saw ESS/MSS and other Business Packages there in the list under SDM repository but it does not say if it is deployed/installed/started.
Can someone please guide me where i have gone wrong, as i am new to Enterprise Portal?

I had a look into the SAP logviewer and saw some errors come up at the time i tried to start the essuspdata
the application that is causing this is: Application : sap.com/tcwddispwda
i am not sure if this is dependant on other applications/services that are supposed to be started

not sure why it is giving this error, as it seems like a general issue but i can't put my finger on it.
I had a check for other errors which i have rectified myself and its looking slightly cleaner than before.
again i have looked all over google, SDN, OSS notes and nothing. Not sure if this is a new problem or am i missing some config somewhere. did find one note which said to apply the latest java component patches which i have but its not sorted anything. My only concern is why i can't see essuspdata or any other ess/mss under Content Administration -> Webdynpro -> under deployed content -> sap.com which only indicates its not deployed but from here onwards i am truly lost as to why

It has been a rumour for a long time and now it seems that SAP will convert all ESS/MSS services into Webdynpro ABAP....so i want to know what's the plan for Webdynpro Java ...? what areas will it be used...? and what are the options for Webdynpro Java Developers....? ...one thing for sure is to learn Webdynpro ABAP...

As far as I know, SAP has changed travel management and HR administraor from WDJ to WDA as of EhP1.
Do you have any ideas about any other BP?
Actually, I wonder SAP has been developed any new BP based on WDJ after EhP is introduced.

We are on ECC5.0 and have ESS/MSS on Java WebDynpro . For ECC6.0 are ESS/MSS in ECC 6.0 are Abap or Java WebDynpro compoment ?
Any watch out when updrading from ECC5.0 to ECC6.0 ?

in ECC 6.0, ESS/MSS are WebDynpro Java calling ABAP backend function modules. However, be careful, there is a switch that enables SOME ESS services as ABAP WebDynpro (Especially in the Travel management area). Unless you use that switch all services are WebDynpro Java.
when upgrading from ECC5.0 to ECC 6.0 you need to test again all ESS/MSS services. In ECC5.0, services are written as Portal iViews, so customizations you made to ESS in ECC5.0 may be lost.

Employee Self Service> Service Specific Settings> Travel management
You will get all the nodes in one place to make Travel management available on the portal as ESS/MSS services.

There are multiple ways to achieve this, you can achieve it through config or by personalizing the WD screen.
Easiest will be to personalize the Web Dynpro screen.
a. Preview the Leave request application through Content Administration.
b. Press Ctrl+Right Click on the approver field.
c. In the Personalization dialog select Read only.
2. Instead of default Head of org unit as approval, can I skipped it to the another superior higher than him/her.For example i'm in org A. Org A under Support dept. I want to to set default approval for staff 2 level org unit above him/her.
