SAP Download Assiatance for a Certified SAP SD User

Dear Gurus,
I am a SAP SD ECC 6.0 Certified Consultant, which I recently finished from Siemens, Bangalore-India
with 82% Marks on 7th November 2008. my ID is S0005912932
I am intensified SAP Aspirant. My problem is that, presently I am working with a company, which
don't have SAP software solution installed, But I want to practice more and more and would like to
clear the MM, WM,PP and IS retail by myself.
It is my humble request to all of you that kindly do let me know, where I can get the downloads/Free
CD through OSS/SAP Service market place of ERP 4.7 or 6.0, GUI downloads along with the Database
Patches. I am also keen to make my home page here, but don't get the place where to do the same.
I tried to download some of them, but It said I am not having authorization.
Kindly pls assist me for this regard as well as I am looking for my career move in SAP, but
unfortunately I am not getting any freshers entry in this corporate world. Pls tell me where I can
get assistance this regard.

It seems a bit odd that you could have obtained your certification without being aware of these issues. Ah, well, life is full of odd situations.

You can't download software from SAP without an SAP license for the software. To get an SAP license, you normally pay for it. To buy a copy of licensed SAP software, call SAP sales. http://www.sap.com/contactsap/directory/india.epx Tell the person who answers the phone that you want to buy some SAP software. They will put you in touch with a salesperson.

Any midsize to large SAP consulting company will make the software available to its employees. Start with SAP Global partners:

Look for Service partners.

If you want to download the software from the service market place and you do not have authorization then you can ask for the download authorization from the company you are working for.
This is the problem, My company do not have SAP services. Pls do let me know the alternatives.

Doubts to install BO for SAP BI users

Hi All!
Do you know how can I make available/usable BO components for my SAP BI users or where I can download the media library (from BO site or SAP site) to install?
We are planning to do a POC here and we will install a new instance with SAP BI 7.0 SR3. We already have BW 3.5 and, if this POC goes well, it could be that our users want to migrate to BI 7.
Does anyone could help? I also read others threads about BO but I didn´t find any link or question with this information ...

Hi Daniela,
Today the Business Objects frontend tools can connect to SAP NetWeaver BI (3.5. and 7.0) via the ODBO connectivity. You do not have to wait for the SAP NetWeaver BI 7.1 release.
With the ODBO interface you must define an ODBO query via BEx and then use the query as the access point for Business Object tools. They Business Object tools create their queries on the data provided by the ODBO enabled query.
In the future we will reduce this need for the intermediary query and provide native support for query building on SAP NetWeaver BI. One example of this is the future Pioneer tool.
With regard to the need to install BOE to get access to SAP NetWeaver BI data, it really depends on the Business Objects tools that you wish to use. For Xcelsius you do need BOE as it uses the QaaWS functionality but I do not believe you need it for Crystal Reports (I could be wrong here so someone correct me if I'm wrong).
I do not know when the Business Object tools will be available for download on SDN. I do know that you can download trial versions of some of the Business Objects tools from the Business Object website (www.businessobjects.com).

Download Location For solution manager 4.0

Hello,
 I am planning to install NW2004s_SR1 portal.
For installation of portal we need to generate a key from solution manager.
 I am new to the installation of solution manger,can some tell me the exact download path for the software (solution manager 4.0).? I have tried with the path (service.sap.com/swdc >Downloads Installations and Upgrades > Entry by Application Group<your solution>
<release of your solution> <your operating system><your database>.)as given in the installation guide of solution manager 4.0 (SOLMAN_40_SR1_WIN_MSSQL.pdf), but not able to find.
Here are my system details

 Thank you very much for your reply & time. I have navigated as directed by you,(SAP marketplace> SWDC> Installations and Upgrades > SAP Technology Components),but could see only two links as:

(Solution manager link is not appearing)
 I think, I need to raise a ticket with SAP to cross check our licence.(since we have licence for MS SQL server only. Do you think this could be the reason?)
Sridhar: To get the right side navigation, which JAVA component, we need to install on the system? (I have both j2sdk1.4.2_09 & Sun AppServer installed on my machine.)

SAP ER: User Reconciliation Data Transformation

Hi all,
I need to transform data during user reconciliation from a SAP HR trusted source.
I did everything as described at chapter *"4.5 Configuring Transformation of Data During User Reconciliation"*

1. Write code that implements the required transformation logic in a Java class.
2. Create a JAR file to hold the Java class.
3. Upload jar into OIM database
4. Edit&Save the Lookup.SAP.HRMS.ReconTransformation (applied for the Last Name field)
5. Edit&Save Lookup.SAP.HRMS.Configuration
Finally I also restarted the oim server.
When the user reconciliation ends, I don't find any field (Last Name in my case) transformed and I cannot find any log message about my tranformation class.
It seems that OIM (11g) doesn't invoke the transformation class: there is some additional task not described to follow?
Some one has been able to transform data during SAP ER User Reconciliation? And if yes, how?

Check the batch size system property. Only after the number of events reaches to that number, your recon events will be processed.
Please run the scheduled job "Non Scheduled batch recon" to process the recon events immediately.

if u r new to sap doing certification is the best choice to get employed with a company. ur experience for less than one year will not speak much than ur certification do. so it is always better to go for certification. so that u can get ur job quicker. if certified ur employment is sure in which ever module it may be

Upload / Download section for each Forum

Normally i see threads where one asks for help files/docs by sending email address. Many users send those files to person and responds. After that many people asks the person to send the same copy and list goes very high. Because of response it is not possible to send those files to all people. Is it possible to create upload/download area for each forum where user can upload files and anybody who requests can download files directly. Please reply.

Hi Craig,
I didn't realise this was frowned upon by the SDN moderators/SAP personnel as there never seems to be anything done about it. The one thing that spoils the SDN forums for me is the number of "Please send me the document" posts that I have to pick through.
Is there a generic email address we can post to to alert all moderators, or do we have to pick a moderator at random? I guess the moderators would soon get sick and tired of us all pointing out these posts!
Maybe you can send me a document explaining how we should approach it

I think the HELP document with B1 itself is a good choice as for the user manual. If you are just begining to use B1, you can start from the first chapter "Getting started".

Do you mean to limit or reduce theavailable hardware and software in the specific machine ? I could not udnerstand yet but if you need fast solution, you could download sizing guide contains the explanation about the sioftware and hardware requirement for installation of SBO. Download it from http://www.service.sap.com/smb --> click documentation resource center.
if the limitation related to user usage, you could use authorisation setting in the module administration. It is possible to that.

Restiction on SAP Lumira user with BI_DATA_ANALYST role

Hi,
Is there an option to disable the SAP Lumira user with BI_DATA_ANALYST role from loading the Excel data into SAP Hana? We would like the user to be able to create story boards and publish it on SAP LUMIRA server using HANA views but not allow him to load any flat file data.

Manish - if you are on BI4 there is no need for the SAP Integration Kit with Web Intelligence
You can connect using the BEx Query
For Lumira right now you can connect using the BEx query but only in the Visualize room - more enhancements are planned in 1.27 - see SAP Lumira Webcast including H1 Plans with BW Updates
I don't think Gateway is needed in these scenarios
