SAP EA Bundled Services
My company is planning to migrate to SAP ES Services and I have been reviewing the offering found at the ES Workplace and have notice many of the custom services we have built, SAP does not seem to the have a Standards offering for, for example a services that retrieves Order Status for a given Customer, Order History for a given Customer, Delivery Schedule, etc.....
It appears like the only offering is centered around the major business processes. Are most companyu2019s continuing to build custom Services? Is there an SAP guideline (document) that outline what they plan to build and what customers should plan to build?
Hi,
This is common practice to develop custom service if required functionality doesn't exist however to avoid uncontrolled service development it is recommended to follow proper governance model.
Extensive list of SAP ES can be found here: http://help.sap.com/content/documentation/esoa/index.htm
Guideline document is also available in SDN (sorry I don't have link but search for SOA governance). You can also look into ES enhancement guide: http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/c0bb5687-00b2-2a10-ed8f-c9af69942e5d?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true
Governance is basically based on following factor:
- Stable service interface.
- Should cover maximum possible scenario.
- Correct level of service granularity.
- Avoid duplicate services.
- Adhere to Industry standards.

Adaptive RFC 2 gives error: com/sap/ide/jco/service/internal/R3Service
Hi,
I've run into the following problem about NWDS. This happens as I create a Model. It appears there is a new version of the Adaptive RFC Model, which is called Adaptive RFC 2 Model.
1. Right click on Models, and select Create.
2. Double Click on Adaptive RFC 2 Model
3. The error pops up. It says "An error has occurred. See error log for more details. java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError". Then if you click details you get "An error has occurred. See error log for more details. com/sap/ide/jco/service/internal/R3Service "
If you know which log to have a look, or what this error is about please let me know urgently. Any help if much appreciated.
Thanks,
Ogeday IsiklarHi,
I am also getting same problem. Waiting for solution

I have created the JCO connections also ,i am able to test them also.I have imported the same into NWDS and deployed the application , its deploying but the out put is the same error.
I have cross checked the models and found that the Model is there in the model types.
Can any one help me regarding this.
Waiting for the response ASAP.
Thanks
Ravi.SHi,
I think you mean ear file and not par file. Check these threads. The exception is mentioned to be because of JCo problems only.

AnumitI have seen this funny error message crop up time and again. Though only for particulaer set of users only.
When developing cuetom applications you will have to do register the BLC compeonent as mentioned in the documentation below. If you dont register you are sure to get this error
http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/en/43/42b7eb8eba2a21e10000000a422035/content.htm
You should not get this error for standard applications as the BLC is always registerd as mentioned in the above documentaion
But when ever I got this error for standard applications, restarting the browser of the end users or in extreme cases the portal server resolved this issue. Fortunately I never got this error in production -
my application run sucessfully for past copule of weeks but
now it show the following exception and i can't able to see my
output window.... i dont know why
The Exception is:
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.sal.deployment.api.WDClassLoaderException: Classloader of 'local/Certification' is null, even though application is started.
if anyone knows, please help me....
thank youHi,
plz check the values of all attributes.
Suppose the values is not there(null) and ur checking some conditions based on this value.
Null pointer exception will araise due to any nullvalue.
To avoid this plz put the check--> if(!value = null){........ }.

Hi, all.
I am trying to initiate a webdynpro page from the producer to the consume portal via RDL. It works fine for a day. Then it starts giving me the error:
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.WDRuntimeException: Failed to load page ...
This error cannot be cleared by clearning the FPN cache or synchronize with the producer. Of course, you can also delete the page from the consumer and copy it over from the producer again. It will work. But this is not a good workaround for a production system. We also don't know the cause either. Here is the stack trace:

Thanks.

Edited by: Jonathan Ma on Apr 23, 2009 12:25 AMHi Jonathan,
you may deactivate the GPN cache as well as the old navigation cache. About the GPN there is note 1172433. Both caches are not used in FPN scenario and can lead to such strange problems. If this won't help please open a support message for this that we can analyse further.

Thanks much for your help with this,
Maria Kutty Somori....Hi Yugandhar/Siddharth,
Emergency address is the standard callable object for Execution that is part of the Standard Life and Work events. I have customized to reorganize the actions depending on our requirements and i have created a different folder structure and different order of execution of callable objects.
How do I fix this "cannot access Webdynpro application" error? Please suggest.
Thank you so much,
Maria Kutty Somori..... -

To explain further, I have 3 views in my webdynpro project, list view, results view and detail view that is embedded in the same window.
In the list view, I have a table of materials with linktoaction event that when clicked will go to detail material view to display material information. In this scenario this is working with no problems for all the items in the list.
When I do the same thing from the result view as the list view, only the first url link action works to display the detail view , the others fail with the above exception.
Any help on resolving this issue is appreciated.
Thanks,
Sunitha.Ayyapparaj,
The lifespan of ResultsView is "FrameworkControlled".
Following is the code snippet for onclick of a row in the table in the results view,
IWDMessageManager messageMgr = wdThis.wdGetAPI().getComponent().getMessageManager();
// getting the user's assigned SoldTo from the UME profile
String[] customer = null;
String SoldTo = null;
try
IUser user = WDClientUser.getLoggedInClientUser().getSAPUser();
IUserAccount[] acct = user.getUserAccounts();
customer = user.getAttribute(AvailabilityApp.NAMESPACE_LENNOX,AvailabilityApp.ATTR_SOLDTO);
SoldTo = customer[0];
} catch (UMException e)
// TODO Auto-generated catch block
messageMgr.reportException(e.getMessage(),false);
//create the instance and pass parameters for RFC Z_RFC_HRP_MATERIAL_INFO_Input
Z_Rfc_Hrp_Material_Info_Input input = new Z_Rfc_Hrp_Material_Info_Input();
wdContext.nodeZ_Rfc_Hrp_Material_Info_Input().bind(input);
input.setMatnr(wdContext.currentATP_To_AtpElement().getMatnr().toUpperCase());
input.setUser_Id(SoldTo);
//executing the RFC Z_Rfc_Wwhc_Zatp
wdThis.wdGetAvailabilityAppController().ExecuteZ_RFC_HRP_MATERIAL_INFO();
wdContext.currentContextElement().setReturnTextDisplay("Availability Results");
wdThis.wdFirePlugToDetailView();
When it goes to Detail view and try to display the UI bound to the output from the above
Z_RFC_HRP_MATERIAL_INFO() , it shows this error.
Please note that the above code does not fail for the first row of the results table in the results view, but it does for all the others. Is there something that I am missing here ?
Thanks,
Sunitha. -

Com.sap.aii.af.service.cpa.CPAException PI 7.1 HELP
Hi Experts,
While excecuting an synchronous scenario JDBC to RFC scenario i am getting Following error::
Error occurred while sending message (GUID 3ff964b6-8b9e-4518-27f8-c79f420e82bf): com.sap.aii.af.service.cpa.CPAException: com.sap.aii.af.service.cpa.impl.exception.CPALookupException: Couldn't retrieve inbound binding for the given P/S/A values: FP=;TP=;FS=DEC1CLNT120;TS=EPMSDV;AN=ProductionOrderDetailsAmendment_SYNC_OB;ANS=http://al.ae/pi/Amend/100;
With referece to blogs i had seen SAP OSS note 741214 ,to refresh the CACHE but this note is only specific to SAP PI 7.0 But i need for 7.1
Please help if any steps or OSS NOTE for PI 7.1 Specific.
Thanks in advance......Hello Mahesh,
I am facing the similar issue on our QA box. After using all possible solution, we had to get SAP involved for troubleshooting, they are still working on this. I have even implemented EAR files to check whether the CPA Cache refresh is really taking place or not.
I would suggest to do a full CPACache refresh and check if it's getting successful. This might help.
I don't think SAP has any patch to resolve this issue, else my problem would have been fixed long time back

Good day,
I did a FILE-RFC-FILE scenario and my file sender adapter returns the error "Error: com.sap.aii.af.service.cpa.impl.exception.CPAObjectKeyException: Value of key must not be null: ObjectId".
I got hold of blog with the similar error(JDBC - Sender adapter Weird Issue), with a suggestion to deactivate the comm. channels, do a full cache refresh and restart the comm. channels. I did all that but still getting the same error.
Your assistance will be higly appreciated.
Regards,
CharmaineHi,
Not very sure but this could be due to wrong configuration of CC or adapter may got locked.
Check for the same in Visual Admin under
Cluster Tab -
> Locking Adapter
If it has got locked then you can reset it here.

Recreate SAP and database services in Windows
Hi!
I'm running my sandbox in a wmware enviroment and yesterday the C: partion got corrupted and I managed to "save" the other drives where the SAP and database are installed.
Is there any way to recreate the SAP and database services in another Windows installation? (manually or automatically)
That way I don't need to reinstall the whole system....and no there is no backup or snapshot since the system is not complete.
But if I get the database to start I should be able to do a backup and then do a new installation and import the backup!?
Thanks for any input
rolloWhat is the database platform?
If it is SQL Server try attaching the data & log files to another instance SQL instance at the same release & patch level, if that works the database is intact so recovery should be possible.
From there rebuild your vmware box and treat the SAP install as though you are doing a 'system copy' so -
-Install & patch Win2003
-Install & patch SQL Server
-Install a 'blank' SAP Central Instance & update kernel
-Attach SQL database
-Use the SAP's SQL Migration tools to prepare DB & instance
-cross fingers & startsap
-make a backup
Check out http://servcie.sap.com/instguides for the System Copy guide that matches your release
If that helps please reward points
Cheers
Danny
