SAP ECC 6.0 Service functionalities vs. SAP CRM Service functionalities

Hi all,
My name is Chitra. I want to make a comparison between the Service functinalities available in SAP CRM Service. I beleieve SAP CRM has lot more functionalities for Service than SAP ECC. But since I have not worked in Service, I would really appreciate any help in this regard. What are the Service options available in ECC 6.0 . What are the additional functionalities available in SAP CRM Service. Any help in this regard will be very helpful.
You can email me at [email protected]
Thanks in advance,
Chitra

Hello Chitra,
I know it was a long time ago since you posted this thread, but I was wandering if you (or anyone reading the forum) ever got the information requested for comparing CRM Service to SAP ECC Service. I have a similiar requirement for comparing both options.
Your help would be truly helpful,
Many thanks in advance,
Pedro

• Upgrade from SAP R/3 4.7 to SAP ECC 6.0 with PSCD and TFA

Hello!
I have to upgrade an SAP R/3 4.7 to SAP ECC 6.0.
We have SAP FI/CO, PSM, IM, FI-AA, PS, with PSCD (FI-CA) as well the special taxes component TFA.
Is there some special procedures for the the Upgrade with this components (PSCD and TFA)?
Is there some documentation for the special Uograde procedure as well the normal procedure?
We use Windows with Oracle.
Can some one

PSCD is in ERP a Business function set - see 957295 - PSCD: Renaming PUBLIC_SERVICES business function set, the upgrade should automatically take care that activation.
Is TFA the tax extension for Ireland? If yes, then the same should be true here.

• Upgrade from SAP R/3 4.6C to SAP ECC 6.0

Dear All,
Our organisation has been running SAP R/3 4.6C on Solaris 8 with Oracle 8i database. We are considering an upgrade to SAP ECC 6.0.
I have already checked the SAP Marketplace (Product Availability Matrix) and found that SAP R/3 4.6C first needs to be upgraded to mySAP ERP 2004 (SAP ECC 5.0) and then from SAP ECC 5.0 to SAP ECC 6.0.
My first question is whether I am on the right track.
Secondly, I was going through various SAP Upgrade strategies and curious to know the difference between technical upgrade and functional upgrade.
Please correct me if I am wrong - technical upgrade is when you technically upgrading the SAP ECC release from 4.6C to 5.0 (that is, upgrading Operating System, Database and ECC).
Once it has been completed, business processes (functional modules) need to be remapped. The development needs to be reworked upon (Modification Adjustment). This is what is known as functional upgrade.
I would appreciate if someone throws some light on my understanding on this subject.
Regards.
Wolfgang.

> Our organisation has been running SAP R/3 4.6C on Solaris 8 with Oracle 8i database. We are considering an upgrade to SAP ECC 6.0.
Oh.. you're aware of the fact, that Oracle 8 as well as Solaris 8 is out of support?
I would do it like (if you need/want to stay on the same hardware):
- upgrade Oracle 8 (I hope your run 8.1.7.4) to Oracle 9.2.0.8
- upgrade Solaris 8 to Solaris 10
- upgrade Oracle 9.2.0.8 to Oracle 10.2.0.4 + latest interim patches
- use kernel 46D_EX2
- upgrade the 4.6c to ERP 6.0
Be aware, that, if you plan to use Java applications (such as the Enterprise Portal or other Netweaer related appliation), the ERP 6.0 must be converted to Unicode.

• Connect one SAP ECC 6.0 source system to 2 SAP BW system

Hi!
I copied SAP BW system (e.g. BW1 --> BW2).
My source SAP BW system "BW1" was connected to SAP source system "MM5" (tcode RSA1).
Now I would like to connect my new SAP BW system "BW2" also to this SAP source system "MM5".
When I do so I get the following error:
Connection cannot be used.
Connection BA is used in the MM5:400
source system as a connection BW1CLNT001 to BW
Do you want to delete this connection in the source system?
Question:
Can one SAP ECC system be connected to 2 SAP BW system?
If yes, what are the steps to do this?
Thank you!

Thank you very much!
The question still is how to proceed with the following dialog screen/warning?
Connection cannot be used.
Connection BA is used in the MM5:400
source system as a connection BW1CLNT001 to BW
Do you want to delete this connection in the source system?
YES or NO
Thank you!

• Sold-to's missing link to ship-to's - SAP ECC -to CRM data load

I have recently extended my middleware between my CRM 2007 and SAP ECC systems. I have adjusted the CRM middleware filters to include a newly created Sales Org that was created in our ECC system. I'm loading the data from SAP to CRM and the accounts are coming across for this new Sales org however they all seem to be assigned to the Sold to Role and none of the accounts are assigned to Ship to, Bill to or payer roles. This is despite the fact that PIDE is maintained correctly in SAP ECC. My middleware objects also seem to be fine. All my other sales orgs worked perfectly in the past.
What objects (business, customizing and condition) do i need to need to run to get these relationships into CRM from SAP.
The main one that I have run is CUSTOMER_MAIN and CUSTOMER_REL
Any ideas as to what the problem might be?
Thanks in advance
eddie

This issue defintely relates back to our SAP ECC Upgrade
It looks to me like that any NEW accounts created in SAP (post our SAP ECC Upgrade from SAP 4.7) and loaded into CRM do not include the relevant account relationships
That is to say that if an account in SAP say 100001 has 4 sold tos 100002 - 100005, 1 payer 100006 and 1 bill to 100006 then that same account will not have any relationships. The 7 accounts will be created in CRM but there will be no relationships between them. All the historical data is fine, any master data that was created prior to the SAP upgrade is unaffected - the relationships exist. Even if this master data was loaded into CRM after the upgrade. The issue is with master data created in SAP after the ECC upgrade and when this loaded into CRM the problem is evident.
This never came to light during a recent business unit rollout as their master data was created in SAP before the ECC upgrade and came across to CRM without issue. We only have seen this issue as we are now dealing with a new business unit that has had all its master data created on SAP post the SAP ECC upgrade. Its this master data that is affected in CRM in terms of missing relationships.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Has anyone seen this issue before
Thanks
Eddie

• Routing and BOM from SAP ME to SAP ECC. Is it possible?

Hi,
Is it possible to send the routings from SAP ME to SAP ECC the way we send from SAP ECC to SAP ME.

Hello,
No it's not possible. Only ERP->ME direction is available as ERP is the source of masterdata usually.

• CRM Service - ECC Logisitcs Integration (Spare Parts in a Service Order)

Hi Experts,
We have been trying to configure a scenario for CRM Service Orders with SAP ECC logistics integration in CRM 7.0 EHP1.
We are aware of the standard configuration wherein we assign one logistics scenario ( Purchase Requisition or Purchase Order or Reservation) for a specific service organization & Item Category for spare parts in service order.
Our first query : Is it standard that the spare part will be automatically reserved if it is in stock (after ECC availability check from service order) and purchase requisition or purchase order is created only if it is not in stock?
We also understand that while a reservation happens during Service order creation, the goods issue or material withdrawal happens only on service confirmation. If this the case, how will the physical delivery happen to customer? This is our second query.
Please note that we are raising this query only for spare part items in service order and not for sales item in service order.
It would be great if you could help us with this issue.
Responses will be suitably rewarded.
Thanks,
Prish

Hi Pritesh,
Thank you for your prompt reply and help, appreciate the same, we would be going for the scenario where the service order in sap crm has saleable parts, the service order would get replicated to ecc as a sales order and the costs would get booked when the post goods issue is performed after creating the delivery in SAP ECC.
Following are the configurations done
1) Service Order type ZRVW is created in SAP CRM
2) The same service order ZRVW is mapped in SAP ECC
3) The service order in SAP CRM has the following number range and the same is kept internal
4) The same number range is marked as external in SAP ECC in vn01 tcode
5) The number range is assigned to the document type ZRVW in SAP ECC
6) Item category determinations are done in SAP CRM, standard SRVS(Sales items are copied to YRVS)
7) The same item category determination is also set in SAP ECC for Item category group NORM
8) Item category determination is also set for ERLA as item category group in ECC
9) The item category YRVS is set to delivery relevant in SAP ECC
10) The standard schedule line is determined which is CP is relevant for delivery
11) The sales area is also assigned to the document type ZRVW.
12) In SAP CRM, the status profile YCONT is assigned, having the business transaction to be distributed, the status of the same is set to allowed for completed status
13) The status profile has been assigned to the transaction type ZRVW
14) Pricing configurations are also done in sap crm and sap ecc
15) Now I am creating the service order ZRVW in SAP CRM, having saleable parts, customer's and material's exist in both systems having the same sales area, the status is set to completed at item and header level
16) The system is throwing an error when I click on edit
17) When checked In sap ecc the system says that the document does not exist
18 I did open the error in SAP CRM and it says that there are some settings required for billing
Since there is no billing relevance to this scenario in the item category the billing relevance is set to no billing
Please advice further
Kind Regards

• External system calling SAP ECC enterprise service.

Hi Experts,
We have an external system(out of the client network) which needs to call the Enterprise service ExchangeRateByExchangeRateQueryResponse_In in ECC.
As we don't want to open the ECC port to the external systems we thought of using SAP PI in between.
I can develop a SOAP to SOAP scenario between External system and ECC using PI.
I want to check whether there is any better way of doing it without developing the interface.
Thanks in advance
Regards,
Rajesh.A

Hi Rajesh,
If the requirement is to fully decouple the ECC system from the external caller system, then configuration of mediated scenario utilizing PI would be a good solution here. But if it is only necessary to ensure that the external system doesn't have direct connectivity to application servers of ECC, then you may consider installing SAP Web Dispatcher, connecting ECC as a backend system to the installed Web Dispatcher and using Web Dispatcher as an endpoint in the caller system. In this way, the caller system doesn't need to have network access to application servers of ECC and will only communicate with Web Dispatcher, all communication between Web Dispatcher and backend (here, ECC) will be transparent for the caller system.

• Business Service Issue for OSB 10.3.1 when call web service of SAP ECC 710

Hello,
1 . I was doing unit test for a business service which called a web service from SAP ECC 710 (This service is published directly from a RFC function module via SOA Manager);
2 .The problem is when i use the OSB test console , which generate request message below:
<soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
*<soap:Header xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">*
*</soap:Header>*
<soapenv:Body>
<urn:Zmmjf503 xmlns:urn="urn:sap-com:document:sap:soap:functions:mc-style">
<ContractInfo>string</ContractInfo>
</urn:Zmmjf503>
</soapenv:Body>
</soapenv:Envelope>
the response message is :
<soap-env:Envelope xmlns:soap-env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
<soap-env:Header>
<n0:MessageID xmlns:n0="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2004/08/addressing">
uuid:4cbe5b84-474c-9abe-e100-00000ad00164
</n0:MessageID>
<n1:Action soap-env:mustUnderstand="1" xmlns:n1="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2004/08/addressing" xmlns:soap-env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope"/>
</soap-env:Header>
<soap-env:Body/>
</soap-env:Envelope>
Above response indicates that the BS called the SAP Web server successfully , but seems the service didn't get the request message.
3. The Web service can be called successfully via SoapUI . and i have checked the request message of soapUI; and it can work if i simply modify the request:
<soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
*<soap:Header xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"></soap:Header>*
<soapenv:Body>
<urn:Zmmjf503 xmlns:urn="urn:sap-com:document:sap:soap:functions:mc-style">
<ContractInfo>string</ContractInfo>
</urn:Zmmjf503>
</soapenv:Body>
</soapenv:Envelope>
and i got the correct response :
<soap-env:Envelope xmlns:soap-env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
<soap-env:Header/>
<soap-env:Body>
<n0:Zmmjf503Response xmlns:n0="urn:sap-com:document:sap:soap:functions:mc-style">
<Recmsg><![CDATA[<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><DocumentResponse><STATE>0</STATE><HTBH></HTBH><MESSAGE></MESSAGE></DocumentResponse>]]></Recmsg>
</n0:Zmmjf503Response>
</soap-env:Body>
</soap-env:Envelope>
4 It bother me , as the only difference between the above two request messages is the Header(the first one contains a "carriage returns"):
*<soap:Header xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">*
*</soap:Header>*
VS
*<soap:Header xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"></soap:Header>*
5 i thought that the soap engine should ignore the "carriage returns", seems it's a problem of SAP ECC710.
DID anyone encouter this problem?? Thanks
Regards
Wen

Thanks,Patrick,
i have already removed the Soap:header, and it worked as well. what's more , using header " <soapenv:Header/>" worked.
And i got these request messages via TCPMON, so it's exactly what were sent to SAP ECC710.
The HTTP request which cannot work:
POST /sap/bc/srt/rfc/sap/zmmjf_503/400/zmmjf_503_service/zmmjf_503_soapbinding HTTP/1.1
Content-Type: text/xml; charset=utf-8

Thing is that if i just use
<soap:Header xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"></soap:Header>
to replace (which means i just simply remove the carriage return)
<soap:Header xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
</soap:Header>
in the header field of OSB Test console, it can work!!!
It's really a weird issue. and it bothers me so much ;)
any suggestions?

• Edge 3.1 Data Services connection to SAP ECC 5.0 on AIX server

I've got a client who is trying to create a Data Services extract from an SAP ECC 5.0 system on an AIX server. The Data Services is installed on a Windows box and is the Edge 3.1 version. He is able to connect to the SAP datastore, is able to import the metadata for a table and browse the data, but the data transport in the R/3 Data Flow fails due to a permissions problem on the file generated in the working directory on the SAP server (as indicated by the Data Services error message).
We have confirmed that the file can be opened and modified by the same user that the Data Integration service is running under. I have also duplicated his environment and settings in a sandbox virtual machine, except that our SAP ECC 6.0 system is running on MS Windows Server 2003, and the transfer works fine in that environment.
Does anyone know how to resolve this issue? Is there a permissions setting we're missing?

Simply means that in the case you have more than one instance you need to shutdown down the instance you are working on and all the other ones too.
