SAP ECC upgrade from EHP6 to EHP7

Is  GTS upgrade from NW 7.2 to GTS  7.3  to be mandated as ECC is getting upgraded from  ECC 6.0 EHP6 to  EHP 7 .  Why?

Hi John,
Your statement looks a bit misaligned.. There is no GTS 7.3 version, the SAP Netweaver 7.3* application server on which SLL_LEG GTS component sits.
The underlying Netweaver AS versions between ECC and GTS systems can be different BUT what needs to be the same is the GTS plugin component in ECC and GTS components in GTS system itself, as best practice they should also be on the same support pack level.
If the ECC upgrade from ehp6 to ehp7 requires you to upgrade SLL_PI gts plugin component in ECC, then in this case you should upgrade SLL_LEG component in GTS system to the same version.
I personaly dont think its required, but check Service markeplace for, PAM Product-availability-matrix and other ehp 7 requirements..
Hope this helps,
Branio

  • SAP Enterprise Project Connection 2.0 in SAP ECC 6.0 EHP6

    Hello experts,
Before describing any think let me tell u that i am very new to this field.
We are configuring SAP Enterprise Project Connection 2.0 in our SAP ECC 6.0 EHP6 .I have already installed ABAP add on for EPC in ECC system.
I have also installed trial version of primavera6 in another system. So now how can i connect my ECC system to Primavera6 through Enterprise Project Connection(EPC). I have gone through the installation guide for SAP Enterprise Project Connection 2.0 SP2.But i could not get any clear idea.
Any reply is helpful for me..
    Thanks
    Debasis

    Hello Debasis,
Post EPC installation, you need to perform configuration of EPC through portal. You can see it listed under configuration--> configuration scenarios-->EPC.
During configuration you will be asked to define path of you primavera installation and a user on that system with sufficient permissions. This user is called APS user.
Try to do a mock configuration run on sandbox/dev system and then you can follow the guide.

  • SAP AFS Upgrade from version 5.0 to 6.4

    Hi Experts,
I wanted to know if someone here was familiar with the SAP AFS upgrade from 5.0 to 6.4. I wanted to know how exactly they improved the  areas listed below. (obtained from SAP Course). Your help would be greatly appreciated
    http://www.sap.com/services/education/catalog/globaltabbedcourse.epx?context=%5b%5b|wdedaf||1||de|%5d%5d|
    1) Improvements in the areas of planned independent requirements, seasonal concept, value add services, Combined order, productionu2013 warehouse interface
    2) Production Planning Basic Data - Enhancements of AFS Bill of Material (AFS BOM), SKU Group Based Routing
    3) Manufacturing Execution u2013 Collective Planned Order Conversion, Combined Order Confirmations
    4) Batch Determination/Classification for SAP Apparel and Footwear
    5) Handling Unit Management for AFS
    Thanks,

    Hi Ronny,
    Thanks for the reply!
These patches you speak of, is it for the types of issues I mentioned in my first post or do they cover the entire AFS functionality? I assume it still requires complex configurations but are there a lot of complications with going from AFS 5.0 to 6.4, compared to a new AFS 6.4 implementation? Specifically with the grids, categories and BOMs?

  • IDoc segment version issue in ECC upgrade from 5.0 to 6.0

    Hi experts,
we are in the process of upgrading our ECC environment from 5.0 to 6.0. We have quite a few interfaces which use ORDERS/Invoice Idocs in customised form. In ECC5.0 environment, we had developed a Z segment in the ORDERS Idoc and the segment release was set as 640. Everything worked fine in ECC5.0.
In upgraded environment, SAP has released new version of some segments. one of those is E1EDP01. This segment has 2 new versions in ECC6.0 environment - 007 and 008. This change in the version changes the data in the IDoc and hence interface goes in error at the EDI provider.
We have tried to use 640 as the IDoc segment release in the partner profile of the IDocs. This still gives us an issue because the 007 version of the segment E1EDP01 has release 620 and hence the Idoc picks up 007 version instead of 006 version as desired. When we change the partner profile with Segment release in the IDoc type as 46C, it gives us an issue in the Z segment saying that the IDoc segment is not released in 46C and the Idoc goes in error.
has any one faces such situation in the past? if yes, please throw some light.
    Thanks in advance.

Please let me know if your issue was resolved. I have similar issue now.
    Thanks,
    Sailaja

  • SAP ECC Upgrade : Userexit or Related Enhancement been Overwriten

    Hi All,
Is that anyone get explanation from SAP why during ECC upgrade most of the enhancement been overwritten and need to re-do.
Thank in advance on your knowledge sharing.
    Trevor Wong.

Ok. There might be need to do "adjustmens" in case of upgrade conflict, or just simple confirmations of code enhancements in transactions SPAU + SPAU_ENH.
I think you should find all missing code enhancements there, waiting for adjustment.

  • SAP BW Upgrade from 7.0 to 7.3 For SAP BOBJ 4.0: Hardware

    Good afternoon
I could not find any usable information on the net and I do not know where to look for the following regarding hardware requirements.
We are planning to install SAP Business Objects 4.0 SP 02 and need to Upgrade our current SAP BW environment from 7.0 to 7.3.
I need to know what the hardware requirements (sizing) are for the SAP BW side please?
    thanks in advance.
    Cj

    Hi,
The EMC Solutions design center offers a free SAP storage sizing regardless of your current storage vendor.   It can be as easy as providing SAP Earlywatch reports.  See https://community.emc.com/docs/DOC-11310  If you are just looking for the incremental needs from the upgrade to the new release, that is more specific to SAP and your config.  Good Luck

  • SAP Server upgrade from Windows 2003 and 2008 R2 with Oracle Database

    Hi,
We need to upgrade upgrade our Windows servers that are running our SAP systems from Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2008 R2.  We are using Microsoft Clustering for HA so an inplace upgrade seems not possible.
Someone has suggested to us that we will need to export our database and reimport it to achieve this upgrade however but I cannot understand why this would be necessary (we are not changing the underlying filesystem!).
Could someone please confirm whether a database export and import is required for this OS upgrade scenario?  I have done a bit of research but nothing has jumped out and now I need an answer to this quickly.
    We are running
    - ERP 6.0 NW 7.01 (soon to be 7.02 with ABAP stack only)
    - XI(PI) Java & ABAP
    - SRM (Java & ABAP)
    - Portal (Java only)
    - PLM (Java & ABAP)
    - BW (BI 7.0) (Java and ABAP)
    Thank You
    Felicity

    Hello,
You need to go for 'Homogeneous System Copy' to achieve this, but since almost all the systems in your landscape include the Java Stack as well - so the system copy with Export/Import is to be carried out.
Even if you are not going for file system change, but it is a Windows environment and you can't put SAP up on the target Windows (windows 2008 R2) just by copying the contents and file system from source to target. You need SAPinst to create the registry and all. - On top of that you have Java stacks involved, so for java stack you can't carry out just backup/restore method to put SAP up there on target - so you need Export/import because for java stack some OS level dump is to be collected during system copy from source and it needs to be imported on target OS.
Are you clear on this one ?
Read system copy guide once and Search in OSS for the Notes to check how to upgrade from Windows 2003 to Windows 2008 R2.
    Thanks

  • SAP ECC upgrade - Impact to GRC

    Hi Forum guru's,
We have a client that is currently using all 4 components of GRC AC Version 5.3 running on ERP 4.7.  The client will be upgrading shortly to ECC6 and I would like to ascertain some important tasks required from a GRC functional point of view and the components that will be the most impacted.
    1) New connectors will be created for each component.
    2) RA&R: Re-upload of auth objects and full re-generation of rules.
    3) ERM: New connectors to be added to the current landscapes and roles uploaded.
    4) SPM: Component to be fully re-configured on the new system
    5) CUP: Existing workflows will apply as they do not use the "system" as the initiators.
Is there any other important steps from a functional point of view that I am missing?. Please advise.
    Rgds,
    Prevo

    Hello Prevo,
    1) New connectors will be created for each component.
-> Not required. Existing Connectors created in each of the component of GRC for 4.7 system will work. Just need little modifications.
    2) RA&R: Re-upload of auth objects and full re-generation of rules.
    ->  Right.
    3) ERM: New connectors to be added to the current landscapes and roles uploaded.
-> No new connectors required and can use the existing connector after little modification.
    4) SPM: Component to be fully re-configured on the new system.
-> Upgrade of RTA component will upgrade the SPM component as well.
    5) CUP: Existing workflows will apply as they do not use the "system" as the initiators.
    -> right.
To enable AC5.3 to be used with ECC system, you will need to install the RTA of 5.3 for ECC 6.0 system. You can download this RTA from the SAP service market place and then install them. This will ugprade your existing RTA component installed for SAP 4.7 to RTA for ECC6.0.
You can follow instructions on Upgrade guide for more information about the upgrade. Also, there are SAP Notes available which you can use.
    Regards, Varun

  • SAP ECC Migration from Physical to ESX

    Dear All,
    My company is moving from Physical Servers to Virtual Platform (Vmware ESX). We are using 7.2 kernel on RHEL 5.3 64 bit for SAP HCM. My plan is;
    1) Shutdown all services
    2) Clone Physical Server into VM using vCenter Converter
    3) change all DNS Base information and update IP address
    4) Restart the services on new server with new IP Address
My take is i need to request new License for new Hardware. Please suggest me what else i need to consider during this process.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
My take is i need to request new License for new Hardware
Yes you need to request for new license since your hardware is changing.
Apart from the steps mentioned by you,
    1) You need to readjust the RFCs
    2) Adjust the TMS configuration
    3) Adjust the SAPlogon pad entries for endusers.
