SAP EP & Groupware e-mail

Hi,
I am trying to send and receive e-mails from the SAP EP 6.0 and I always get the message :
No e-mail address is configured for the user

I also used the SAPPXchTest.exe and it leads to an authentication failure (Basic & Kerberos) where as the user exists and the password is correct.
I have created an Exchange system with the information about the mail server, the logon method. I have also configured the Mail Transport and the Exchange Transport.
When I do outlook /checkclient, the CDO is not installed ? Do I need to install it ?
Is it mandatory to install it on the Exchange Server or can it be installed with Outlook ?
Is there a good documentation to ensure the Groupware integration of MS Exchange (e-mail+calendar) within SAP EP 6.0 ?
Thanks

• Sending an e-mail from SAP to multiple e-mail IDs

I have a requirement where SAP should send e-mail to the main recipient and CC to three other recipients. The e-mail will have a PDF attachment of delivery document and the e-mail Ids are fetched from ''Storage Location'' definition maintained in customization under SPRO --> Enterprise Structure --> Definition --> Materials Management --> Maintain Storage Location. I can maintain multiple e-mail Ids here.
However, as standard, SAP will set the indicator (or I can define) to one specific e-mail ID only and will send e-mail just to that e-mail ID.The requirement is that the e-mail Id with the indicator will be the main recipient, and all other e-mail Ids should be CCed.
Can anyone advise how to go about this? Any OSS notes or any clue on ABAP devpt work please...
Many Thanks in Advance
Ravi.

Hi
You can have the PDFs kept in a spool. From the spool, you can send these documents through email by using the FM
CONVERT_OTFSPOOLJOB_2_PDF
You can also use the FM PLM_AUDIT_COM_SEND_PDF_AS_MAIL
to create a new FM for your purpose.
Rwd if it helps.

• SAP CRM Groupware Connector for Exchange on 64 Bit platform

Hi All,
We have successfully installed SAP CRM 5.0 on Windows 2003 x64 Server R2 SP2.
OS, Database and SAP Kernel are all 64 Bit enabled.
Now we are trying to install SAP CRM Groupware Connector on the same server.
But we encounter problems with SAP Groupware Connector 2.1 for MS Exchange installer (setup.exe), which stops with the following error:
Required Software missing:
- MS SOAP Toolkit
Installation cannot be continued !
But SOAP Toolkit 3.0 definitely is installed.
Obviously the Groupware Connector is still 32 Bit.
It is the only available download in SAP Marketplace i could find.
The CD is located in the same area where the CRM installation CDs can be downloaded.
SAP does not differ between 32 Bit and 64 Bit versions.
I'm wondering if it is possible, to run a 32 Bit Groupware Connector in a 64 Bit environment.
Does anybody have experience with such a configuration ?
Or is there a 64 Bit enabled version available for download ? Where can i find this version ?
Thank you in advance.

I got an answer from SAP Support:
SAP still recommends to use 32-bit system OS in order to avoid any future confusions.
So we have to install another 32 Bit Server only for the Groupware Connector.
Thx for your interest.

• SAP Workflow - Send Reminder Mail

HI,
I am supposed to send a reminder mail to the user in my SAP Workflow. The scenerio is if the user has completed the given Work Item then the workflow ends but he has not completed the task then he should get a Reminder mail after 7 days.
Please let me know how to achieve this. Its a bit urgent for me. You comments are highly approciated.
Thanks in Adcance,
Sachin

Hi Sachin,
You need to set up deadline monitoring for this.
On the task definition, there will be a tab for "Latest End".
On this you can define the dealine by which the task should be completed (e.g. 7 days from initiation), and the action to take if the deadline is missed (e.g. send a reminder mail).
There is some built-in help on this anyway, so it shouldn't be too confusing.
Hope that helps - I'd appreciate some points!!
Regards

• SAP CRM Groupware Integration - Create appointments on mobile phone.

Hi all
We have implemented the serverside groupware integration with CRM 2007 and Exchange.
Usually the appointments in Outlook are created with category
"CRM_ACT_001". Unfortunately some Mobile Phones (like the iPhone) are not
able to set the category of an appointment.
Our users usually create their Outlook appointments on their mobile.
So we had to customize the GWAdapter to let through all activities from
groupware (without filtering for the category).
To do so we changed the spro entry "Maintain Groupware Object Selectionand Retrieval":
- From: ACT Categories CRM_ACT*
- To: ACT Categories *
Unfortunately this causes a lot of problems:
- The category of the activity in CRM got deleted everytime you change the appointment in outlook.
- When you set a meeting in Outlook to "private" the activities in
CRM AND Outlook are deleted automatically.
Does anyone had similar problems? How can you synchronize the calender on the mobile phone with CRM?
Thanks in advance.
Marco

Checked the issue with SAP.
You cannot synchronize the appointments without giving an category. On iphone and most other smartphones you cannot chose a category.

• Regarding Autoforwarding of Notifications from SAP Inbox to Externam Mail ids

Hi Experts,
In Our Project we are forwarding SAP INBOX Notifications to External email ids using
below settings from SBWP .
SBWP->Settings->Office Settings.
Here in the Automatic Forwarding Tab we are maintaing the Emaid Adresses .
With this setting , IT forwards all the SAP INBOX mails to the email ids which we maintained in settings.
But we want to Filter the Notifications.
How to get this?

In your call don't pass put_in_outbox = 'X'.
Don't pass the Transmission Medium in the Receiver

wa_receivers-rec_type = 'U'.
wa_receivers-notif_del = 'X'.
wa_receivers-notif_ndel = 'X'.
APPEND wa_receivers TO gt_receivers.

• Send notification mail to SAP user in step mail

Dear All:
My requirement is to send notification mail to multiple SAP user when a PO is created.
I am using step mail.
Kindly help me with this.
shegar

Hi,
Follow the below steps,
I hope you might have already created a workflow, or else cretae a workflow template from PFTC transaction and link the event of Created of the PO respective vusness object.
2. Then in the workflow determine or a BOR method to determine the agents, or create a RULE from PFAC transaction and include this rule in the send mail step
3. Include the body of the content in the send mail step....

• Email alert in SAP when i receive mail in SAP inbox

Gurus,
I create a notification in SAP.I am sending the notification thro SAP mail. The person who is getting the mail should receive a alert that a mail has arrived. Is it possible to set the alert?

Yes Buddy ! there is a way. If you are sending it using SBWP then just check the box (having column Name:Express in Recipient TAB) next to the Recip. Type column. Or If you are sending it thru FM then set the Flag EXPRESS in Recievers Table (tab).
let me know if still any confusion.

• Sap enterprsie integration with mail server

hi
Is it possible to integrate sap with mailserver without the use of any connector (ie with smtp or any other protocal).please suggest.
regards
ravi

assume you want SAP internet mail gateway
1. download ML_xxx from sap market place under kernel folder(SAP internet mail gateway) and configure mailgw.ini
2. if you are using windows OS then install sendmail for windows (indigo mail can be purchased US$49/license), otherwise if UNIX, maybe sendmail already installed or use qmail.
your server should be ready to talk to a SMTP mail server.

• SAP to Exchange 2003 Mail Server

Hi,
We have upgraded our exchange servers to 2003 but when I point SCOT at the new SMTP node I am getting an error message on a couple of lines inthe trace:
[email protected] 806
806=501 5.5.4 Invalid Addresswhen I look in SOST.
I can telnet onto the exchange server from I-series without problem.
Is there any difference in set up for an Exchange 2003 server from SAP ? We can use SMTP to this server from non-SAP.
Many Thanks
David

Hi David,
We configured SMTP on WAS 6.40 based on Note 455140 long time ago. When the exchanged server was upgraded to 2003, we simply changed the hostname in SCOT, just like what you did, and it worked.
Note 751332 says that kernel upgrade is needed to a similar message, but it was very low patch level.
One time I reconfigured the whole thing to fix an issue I don't remember now... Or make the new node look like original one by keeping same hostname/IP address?
Good luck,
Victor

• Issue in sending mail to SAP Inbox from Workflow

Hi All,
I need to send the mail to the creator of the document about the user decision. If i am executing the workflow through the event ( ouput type) , the workflow processing in SWIA is complete but the mail is not sent in the SAP Inbox. But If i try to manually execute the workflow, mail is sent to the SAP Inbox.
I've used WF_INITIAITOR in the Expression. I need to send the mail not to the approver but to the creator of the workflow.
Thanks,
Neha

Hi,
the event is also triggered from my Id but in that case I do not recieve any e-mail. None of the users recieve the e-mail in the SAP Inbox for the mail step after the decision.
In workflow Log the last step shows the details as
name of the manager and the workflow background for mail sent step as shown below
Sumit Vij Background work item created 10.01.2012 12:08:43
