SAP EP on MaxDB Preview - invalid vm detection

Hi,
Im trying to install the SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Portal on MaxDB - Developer Edition - Sneak Preview Package on a Windows XP SP2.
The installation stops during step 23 Start SAP J2EE Engine where the JControl process refuses to start.
The log report a invalid vm detection error.

I do not know why the process can not read the file (./JdkDetection_5680.txt). It is created in C:\usr\sap\J2E\JC00\work together with a .java and .class file.
Im using java version "1.4.2_06" and %JAVA_HOME%\bin has been added to the path.

Sorry, so far I have not found a solution.
I expect it has something to do with the localization of Windows. I have tried to install it on a Danish and English version. I only get the error on the Danish version. Which version are you using?

This is the second time this has happen.
My system consists of the following:
PC running Windows 7 w/64bit
When I try to open a .pdf Iget a pop-up within 10 seconds say Invalid plugin detected. Adobe Reader will quit.
I paid the $39.00 from tech support to get this fixed in Aug. 2011 and now it's back.
I have gone through all the Adobe hoops and nothing has worked.

Do you have any 3rd party plugin installed for Adobe Reader? If not, close all running instances of Adobe Reader and delete the entire folder at: C:\program Files\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\plug_ins.
Now goto Control Panel > Programs and Features. Locate the entry for Adobe Reader X and chose to repair the installation.
If you do have a 3rd party plugin installed, try uninstalling them and see if the issue is related to the same. If it works, do let me know which plugins were causing the issue so that I can have a look.

SAP Conversion Agent Studio Preview Version

Hi,
Does anyone have knowledge about SAP Conversion Agent Studio Preview Version?
I've downloaded it from SDN and it says it comes with an Eclipse version, but i doesnt.
When i try to point it to my existing Eclipse it says it needs version 2.1.2 oe 2.1.3. of Eclipse, but these are quite old. They can be downloaded from a 2004 archive site. (?)
Are there newer version of the SAP Conversion Agent Studio Preview Version?
Any suggestions are welcome.

Reader X - RIKLA application approved, after signing plugin, still "Invalid plugin detected..."

My company submitted a RIKLA application and it has been approved. I've taken the received certificate file and combined with the keypair file I generated, have executed SignPlugin.exe and it successfully signs my plugin. However, I still get the "Invalid plugin detected." error after about 3 seconds in Adobe Reader X. I have no other plugins being loaded.
I'ved used the BasicPlugin project file as a basis for my plugin's project file and tweaked it for a Release build. I've tested the plugin, and all logic is functional. (Though I have to hurry and click my plugin menu items/toolbar buttons as Reader quits within 3 seconds as mentioned above.)
My AcroDspOptions.rsp file looks like:

support contact.

Sounds like something has been added into the Reader folder. I would recommend uninstalling, running http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html, removing any left over parts of the Reader folder (this might have been the problem), reboot, and reinstall. Hopefully that solves the problem. For future question about Reader, you should consider asking in the Reader forum, this is not it.

Invalid plugin detected

I get a message saying invalid plugin detected. Adobe will terminate in a pop up box. under the box I get the first page of the document but can only terminate the program. This is on 8.1 of the Adobe Reader. How can I download a 7.X version or is there someother way to determine which plug is invalid and what I need to do to get around the problem?
My OS is Windows XP

GBIC-invalid error detected putting in err-disable state

I have a 3750x in which we installed a C3KX-SM-10G module if I look at the show switch service-modules it is showing connected. However as soon as I install the GLC-T transceiver in the gi1/1/2 in the module I get the following error "gbic-invalid error detected on Gi1/1/2, putting Gi1/1/2 in err-disable state" and when I look at the status for the interface it shows "err-disabled"
Any Ideas?

I have gotten the RIKLA from Adobe. And I use the example code BasicPlugin(you can download it from Adobe wetsite) as my plug_in, then, I made the api file according to the steps in document in the "Creating an Adobe Reader Plug_in" section of the "Developping Plug_ins and Applications". As last,I copy the api file to plug_ins folder, open Adobe Reader 8. I saw under the Tool memu there is a new menu named Acrobat sdk so that I think the api file is loaded successfully by Acrobat reader. But an error appears, it is "invalid plugin detected. Adobe Reader will quit". Can someone tell me why?Thank you.

I followed your instructions

I finally found my culprit, I deleted one file folder at a time, then restored them from my Recycle Bin.
I finally found my culprit, in the folder “Babylon” the file “BabylonRPI" was the main culprit.
I deleted the whole Babylon file folder, and havent had the error "invalid plugin detected. Adobe Reader will quit" ever since.

I get the following error when trying to send emails with attachments. It only happens periodically though. One hour it sends fine, the next this happens. Any explanations? I believe this only started happening recently, when we updated our email server to a newer version. Could this be a server issue?

It's possible it's a server problem.
The failure is occurring when JavaMail issues the HELO command,
which is the fist command issued in a session.
The HELO command sends the host name of the local machine.
If that's set wrong, it could cause "invalid characters" to be send,
There's various ways to set the local host name, including the
mail.smtp.localhost property, falling back to InetAddress.getLocalHost.
If this only happens some times, you may need to save the debug
output after turning on session debugging and get back and look at
it when there's a failure.

Virtualbox host only addapter doesn't work - Invalid settings detected

Host: arch linux
Guest: ubuntu
When I try to switch to host only addapter it outputs Invalid settings detected.

I forgot to tell: i use sudo modprobe -a vboxdrv vboxnetadp vboxnetflt vboxpci
before i open virtualbox

Constant calendar error "invalid sharee detected"

Looking at my calendar server error logs I am contimually seeing this error and cant seem to find the the reason for it. Does anyone have any ideas?

Moving SAP Content Server/MaxDB 7.6 to a Windows 2008 R2 Server

Hi All.
We are in the process of upgrading our server where the SAP content server is located. We are going from SAP CS 6.30/MaxDB 7.6 to a Windows 2008 R2 server where we want to install SAP CS 6.40/MaxDB 7.8. I have been following the latest manual from SAP for upgrading to MaxDb 7.8 (2010-10-05) from MaxDb 7.6 using the in-place method.
To date we have installed MaxDB 7.6 on the server. We restored our latest backup and performed the index checks as spelled out in the manual. I have the database in ADMIN mode and went to run the MaxDb 7.8 install for the 64 bit window version. THe install GUI comes up, but the Update selection is grayed out. This tells me that the install program can not detect our existing database. I did make sure I was running the install as Admim so I do not think that is the issue.
This is the second time I have tried this upgrade. The first time I did a comand line upgrade by runing the .bat file DBUPDATE.bat. We have a 110 Gbyte database and this upgrade ran in about 15 minutes, and of course when I went to openthe database it was toast. Do not want to make the same mistake again.
One other point, since we did a restore of the database, then the index check, we did not run a backup as the manual suggested as we felt it was not necessary. Does the system require a backup before upgrade and that is why it does not see the database?
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

I beleive we have resolved the issue with upgrading the database, but now we are having a problem with Datbase Studio 7.8. Before the upgrade we used Data Manager 7.6. After the upgrade we installed Database Studio 7.8 and when we go to start it up, we are getting the Problems opening perspective 'com.sap.sdb.tools.ut.perspectives.mainPerspective'. I followed the instruction in another post Problems opening perspective in Database Studio, but we still are getting the error.
Can anybody offer any assistance as we are getting close to the weekend when we want to do the cutover and we are not even done with our first pass at upgrading the SAP content server.

Error while installing SAP NW on MaxDB

Hello All,
I am trying to install SAP NW Server (ABAP and Java Stack) on MaxDB. I have downloaded the MaxDB from SAP marketplace.
While installation we got one error saying "not able to find the file 'LABEL.ASC' file in current directory." Then I checked the installation directory, and that file was not present in that directory. For that i mannaully created that file with contents "MAXDB:760xx:RDBMS:MAX DB:WINDOWS_I386:*" as my m/c is win32:i386 and started the installation.
After successful installation of some steps I got following error in step u201CCreating Database instanceu201D.

I checked the log file also. It is saying
