SAP Erec System Integration with Portal

We have installed a new erec system in Sap nw 7.02 abap system which has to be integrated with Existing portal system. There is another existing  HR system(ecc6.0 ehp ) which is already connected to portal. What are the steps to be followed for Integrating Erec system with portal.
Thanks.

Dear Colleagues,
We have similar situation and this week we hopefully will approach to integrate ERECRUIT with SAP Portal. We have recommendations from consultants but since ERECRUIT implementation is still no commodity’s I’d like to confront this recommendations and share experiences. Please have a look on the the thread about it:

  • Project systems integration with portal (EP)

    Dear all,
I have to integrate the projects systems module with Portal.(EP)
In portal transactional I views can be used to create projects which can be store in the R/3.
Now the issue is to create projects with out using Transactional I views. This should be a simple entry through portal, where in the user keys in the key fields and there by the project is created and scheduled.
For this I have tried with using business packages given by SAP to integrate with portal.
Now the issue is I can display the projects that are created in R/3 through portal and display the necessary fileds required for viewing (I views). Now the main problem is to create the project using these business packages so that the same get updated in the R/3.
But business packages do not have the option of creating the project. I am using the business packages for projects 50.3.1
Has any body come across this type of issue which has to be integrated with portal and subsequent creation of projects through portal
If any body has done this in any other way please kindly share on this.
Experts please throw some pointers on this.
    Regards.

  • Java Stack mandatory for a SAP BI system integrated with EP?

    Hi Guru's,
Currently we are using SAP NetWeaver 2004 s version 7.0 system for our BI.
This is integrated with the EP. But our BI system does not contain the Java Stack installed.
When we work on WAD templates and execute  the template, it is automatically directed to EP portal where we can see our reports.
Here my question is do we need Java Stack for this system to use ADOBE DOCUMENT services or can it work with EP only for the web functionalities.
Any info on this is of great help.
    Best Regards
    Kumar

    HI Reddy,
We came to know from our basis team that we do not have the Java Stack installed in our BI 7.x system yet.
As it is integrated with EP which has Java, our web reports are working.
    1) But my question is still do we ned to install the Java Stack in our BI system as i do not find any Export to PDF option in EP for the reports (eventhough AS Java supports this).
    2) Or can we use the existing configuration without Java STack integrated to EP for the new tools like Report Designer and Integrated Planning?

  • Connecting SAP PLM system to iview portal.

Hi experts i want one clarification on process of connecting SAP PLM system to iview portal.
here my scenario is SAP PLM->>>XI--->>>WEBSERVICES
    RFC-->>XI--->>>>SOAP
1---->>here i have to get the list of all materials from SAP PLM using iview as
    front end tool.
2---->>and the next thing is if the material is camera means it should require the
lengs software for the camera. In the iview we can select the material
    for upgrated software.
3--->>after that the input parameters wil be sent to webservices
(some website) using XI part(mapping and all) and the response should come back then it has
to be stored in the SAP PLM system.
please clear me all the above questions.
    thanks & regards

    HI,
    See
    1) Request is sent from the Portal.
    2) Web Dynpro application is called through the URL.
    3) Web Dynpro app makes use of Web Service based Model in sending SOAP request to XI.
    4) SOAP adapter converts the incoming SOAP message into XI Message.
    5) Synchronous call is made from XI to R3 backend using RFC adapter.
    6) Response is mapped and routed back as SOAP message.
Necessary design steps in interface objects, mapping objects and Business process are created according to the functional requirements.
Sender Soap Communication channel is setup in Configuration along with other essential configuration steps.
WSDL is generated for the message interface in Integration Directory using Tools-->Define Web service.
Override the default URL with following while generating WSDL.

  • How to use PPM 5 (standalone or integrated with portal)

    Hi,
I would like to know which advantages and disadvantages are presented by using PPM 5.0 standalone or integrated with portal? all functionality are the same in both cases? which is the best option?
    Thanks a lot,
    CAMILO URIBE

    Hi,
from a functionality point of view, standalone and portal usage of SAP Portfolio and Project Management 5.0 are the same (except functionality which is in general only available within a portal, e.g. KM documents, collaboration rooms, etc.).
From a TCO perspective, for the standalone usage you'll only need the ABAP stack (except for ADS), i.e. if you don't anyway already have a portal in use in your company, this could lead to a lower TCO.
    Kind regards,

  • CATW integration with portal (IAC session)

I'm trying to integrate the catw application in the portal with a IAC iview. The application itself work's fine.  But when I close the application (closing the window without pressing the ext button)  the user is locked out for a while. We don't want this behaviour We added the  ~SINGLETRANSACTION = 1 parameter to the catw service but the user is still locked out.
We are using an integrated ITS NW2004 SP11 WAS 7.00.
We have found these oss notes. And tried them out with no result.
Note 959417 - Integrated ITS, closing session when transaction ends
    Note 493908 - ~disconnectonclose - Closing an ITS session
Note 689291 - ITS: Disconnect on close for IACs
    Any pointers ?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Kabali,
Were you able to resolve the issues with file system integration. I followed all the steps mentioned in help document http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/ed/b334ea02a2704388d1d2fc3e4298ad/content.htm. But it is coming with error : Startup Error:  getting mapped math - Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password. We are using ABAP UME. I am not sure which user portal is using to communicate with windows share. As per the documentation I believe it is using the user specified in Network Path. In my case this user has full access on the share. And we are not using Network Path name any where again while creating the repository we need to specify all the path for Root Directory.
Could you please explain me all the steps you did in little details. I thought this is just 10 Min job .. but i am not able to resolve it ..
    Thank You,
    Hari.

  • SAP BI System Copy with only Config changes, Not Data

    Hi BASIS,
I have a requirement from a client to build a system landscape stratagy for their SAP BI system.
We have DEV - QA - PRD systems for SAP BI (7.0 SP 16)
Both DEV and QA are completely out of sync with PRD. We are doing development tasks directly on PRD. Now we have decided to re-sync the DEV & QA systems with PRD.
'System copy with Data' will be easier to implement. But our PRD DB size is nearly 3TB. The client is not ready to pay for the extra/temp. disk space for DEV and QA sync. ( We are on DB2).
Now, we have only one option left. Capture all Config changes from PRD and transport them back to DEV & QA. This is a tedious task and cause many inconsistencies.
Would anyone have any other ideas to bring the systems in sync with less time involved and less resources.
I am a SAP BI person. So dont know much about BASIS tasks. Please help me with any links of best practises or SAP notes.
    Cheers

    Hi Friends,
i am new to SAP Solution PLM7.0, and also about the integration with DMS.
i wish to learn about this, so pls assist me and forward some links and documents.
that would be helpfull for me.
    thanks,
    udhayasurian

    Ajaykumar,
You have BI and BO installed and running on good environment,Correct??
Only you need SAP Integration Kit installed.
    After installing successfully.
Create master BEx query. Go to Properties -->> Extended tab -- Allow external access to OLAP (Incase of BW3.x)
Create master BEx query. Go to Properties -->> Advanced tab -- Allow external access OLAP (BI7.0)
    Now go to Universe Designer:
-->> Name Universe and Click on Connection -- New
-->> Connection parameter dailog box -- It prompt for many options like:
Authentication Mode:User/Pass or BO mappings or SSO
    User Name:
    Password:
    Language:EN
    Application Server: <SAP BI system details--IP address>
    System ID:<SAP BI ID>
    System No:<SAP BI NO>
    Logon Group:(greyed out)
    Message Server:(greyed out)
    -- Click on Next
-- Here, you can see all OLAP cubes ($Infocubes) and Folders for BEx query based/Multiproviders.
    -- Select the required one.
    -- Click Next -- Next -- FINISH
    OK
Now you can see lict of *Classes and Objects* and not Universe structure as we are on SAP BI system.
    (In Universe Designer window)
Go to -- File -->> Export -- (Select any folder, where you have access)
    Now, *logon to Infoview*:
    -- Document list
-- New-->> New Web Intelligence Document
It will list out all Universe those are exist in repository.
    Choose the exported one.
Now you are in *Web Intelligence Report panel*.
-- Drag any objects like Dimension/Detail or Measure to Result Objects pane (to see them in Report)
    or
Drag them to Query Filters section to restrict the data.
    --Click on Run Query
-- Now Report you can see.
If you want to create Report 2:
Just Right click on Report1 and say Duplicate or New Report.
Hope I cleared all your doubts.
    Thank You!!
