SAP ERP + any BO integration

Dear sirs,
I would love to start playing around with BO, but don´t know how. I would like to meet anybody, who has any experience in integrationg of any BO software (Crysral reports for example) with SAP ERP system. I would like to try myself such integration at home using the SAP and BO trials. Is that possible? Is there any who has done that before around here? Or maybe somebody would like to start with this thing as well and would like to work together? Any ideas appreciated.
Regards Otto
p.s.: I hope I will NOT find any more piece of advise like in BO forum where guys told me to review some techED content which is of course paid. I would like to get some help for free, if that is possible.

Hi, Sure that's possible, sounds like a misunderstanding. There is heaps of information, this page is a great starting point

  • SAP Cloud for Customer & SAP ECC/CRM OnPremise integration using WebServices!

    Hello All,
I would like to ask if anyone has really created a working integration scenario between a Cloud Solution & an ECC/CRM OnPremise solution?
We are trying to build some prototypes for this, however, due to connectivity errors/issues, unable to proceed.
    I'm looking for information on:
    > What certificates precisely are needed on both Cloud & OnPrem systems?
    > What configuration if any is required on Cloud & OnPrem solution, except for communication system/arrangements on Cloud solution?
    > Any use case if available from anyone which can demo integration between Cloud solution & ECC/CRM OnPremise solution.
I'd really appreciate responses on this.
    Many Thanks
    Ankur

    Thanks Sathya for the response.

    p-crm-now-available  : Not working! => Please check & confirm.
Just to give you our background...we are SAP Cloud Partners & VARs, hence we are building few prototypes for Customer Demos & POC.
Per my understanding, its just one of the OnPrem system, either an ECC OnPrem or CRM OnPrem that you can integrate with one C4C tenant at a time, i.e. to one single tenant. In our case, we are trying to integrate ECC OnPrem with C4C system.
We are in the process of deploying SAP PI as the middleware platform for integration between C4C & ECC/CRM OnPrem., which is going to take few more weeks.
SAP HCI will be the other approach, but we are currently not familiar with that, hence we have a trial to start in coming week for SAP HCI, so this is going to take some time as well.
Hence, WebService is the only currently available option for us to build these prototypes, POC for Customer Demos, to show working integration scenarios between ECC OnPrem & C4C system.
We have been facing some technical issues after setting up necessary communication systems/arrangements on C4C system & trying to do a WS call from SDK also we get error when we do a ping test from within C4C system to check connection.
Has SAP developed any WS integration between C4C & either of the ECC or CRM OnPrem system? Or is it just PI & HCI which SAP has for integration?
I'd truly appreciate if you can guide us on creating few integration scenarios (Working ones of course ) using Webservice between C4C & ECC OnPrem system.
    Many Thanks

  • SAP Sourcing 7.0 integration with SAP ERP - issue with SAP PI

    Hi All,
We are integrating SAP Sourcing 7.0 with SAP ERP 6.0 with SAP PI 7.1 in middle. So the Sourcing will talk to PI and this intern will talk to ERP. Sourcing is on oracle 11g where as PI and ERP are on SQL 2008. All these 3 are on windows 2003 x64.
We are following the "Configuration Guide Integration of SAP ERP and SAP Sourcing 7.0" provided by SAP.
We have successfully configured Sourcing and PI systems as pe the document. In Sourcing, by using background jobs we are able to successfully generate files in "export" folder which is part of FTP directory.
However the issue is with PI, we configured the "configuration scenerio" in Integration builder and point all channels to the FTP folder in Sourcing. But PI is not picking up these files.
Is there any way to trigger this in PI system. Or do we need to do anything in sourcing itself.
    Regards,
    Siva.

    Hello Siva,
I am thinking that you may need to deploy FTP adapter in PI to get this process work fine but not sure.
Let's see what other experts suggest.
    Thanks,
    Siva Kumar

  • Integration SAP ERP & SAP Sourcing through Oracle ESB

    Hello,
Currently I am working on architecture design for new implementation of SAP Sourcing 10.
Obviously we are going to face integration aspects between SAP ERP & SAP Sourcing (Material, Vendor Master etc..).
As the the main integration platform in client's architecture is Oracle ESB, I wonder if we can use it instead of SAP PI. Client is not even considering new installation of SAP PI for integrating ERP & Sourcing, although the SAP documentation clearly states SAP PI is a mandatory component.
Do you think we can do it with Oracle ESB? Obviously assuming a greater effort than it would take with SAP PI.
As ERP <-> Sourcing scenarios base on RFC, IDOC, File, HTTP - I would say yes at first thought (as Oracle ESB is capable of communication in these protocols). But is anyone with such experience? Are there any other limitations that should be considered?
    Regards,
    Tomasz Gałdyś

    Hi Tomasz,
All of the Integration Content is built for PI.  Hopefully someone that has done this with Oracle ESB will respond but I think there will be significantly more work as the integration that is delivered is all done with PI in mind.  Some customers have decided to go ahead with PI so that they could take advantage of the standard integration.

  • PI Integration between SAP ERP system and Cloud for Customer

    Hi,
We have set up integration between Cloud for Customer tenant and our SAP ERP system via PI.
For performing initial load, when we try to activate change pointers for Message types in the SALE transaction, we don't find the MATMAS_CFS and DEBMAS_CFS in the ERP system(IDES ECC 6.0 EhP6).
CODERINT 600(SP1 &2) are installed and BC set COD_BYD_ERP_INT is activated in the system.
Could anyone let us know what are we missing here, so that we can get the message types.
Also we tried using Message type MATMAS for sending a message from ERP to Cloud for Customer. In PI message monitoring, the status shows as 'Processed successfully', however we do not find the message in Business Communication Monitoring in the Cloud system. neither do we see the Business Object created for that Material master.
Please let me know how to debug such a scenario.

  • SAP SCM 7.0 and ERP 6.00 integration.

    Hi,
We should implement SCM-APO scenario using Sap SCM 7.0. The business process will be Demand Planning & Forecasting and Supply Network Planning.  We need to connect the new SCM to ERP 6.0 (Sap Basis, ABA, AP  7.0 )
Which are the requirements about ERP 6.00 ?  Is it  need to install the EHP 4 on ERP 6.0 or no ?
I found  on Sap Markeplace a .pdf about the architecture of SCM 7.0 but the integration with Sap ERP is not quite clear.
    thank's for your help.
    Antonino Chirico

    Hi Antonio,
We also plan to install an SCM in 1 customer landscape.
According to SCM security guide SCM should be connected in secure way to ERP.
do you plan to establish secure communication between the 2 components?
    BTW:
we do not plan to use PI in such scenario. In our case there is no real value in such recommendation.

  • Integration SAP HR via PI7.0  to SAP ERP 6.0 GL

    Hi Experts,
we are facing some issues during the integration of the SAP HR system to our SAP ERP System. The SAP HR system is outsourced and we only receive a file with the payroll data which need to be posted to SAP GL.
As middleware we are using the SAP PI 7.0.
Can somebody tell us, how we can post the data from PI to ERP? Which technology should we use here? Idoc vs. BAPI?
Would be great if somebody of you could guide us through this topic.
    Cheers
    Samir

    Hi,
thx for coming back that fast. I checked already the Idocs and from my point of view we would be able to use the ACC_GL_POSTINGACC_GL_POSITUNG01 Idoc structure.
We are also checking BAPIs, so would you recommend to use the IDOC or should we investigate on the BAPI topic?
    Cheers

  • Integrating C4C with SAP ERP using HCI  ( SLD )

    Hi all,
in order to link C4C with SAP ERP via HCI, Is it mandatory add the SAP ERP to a SLD ?
    thank u in advance.

    Hi Daniele
Use the integration guide from SMP first - that is the final source.  The how-to guides can supplement but they aren't necessarily updated every quarter.   We have a new how-to guide for certificates as well - hopefully you found that one.   In 4.5 the cloud system they are referring to is HCI.   We also have a video for this - did you watch Prakash's elearning?   It's in our how-to guide blog - this might help.
So 1. get the integraiton guide, follow it
    2. Use Prakash's  video Integrating SAP Cloud for Customer with SAP ERP - YouTube
    3.  Use the certificate how-to guide

  • FDMEE Dataload with SAP ERP Integration

    Hi everyone
I'm on FDMEE11.1.2.3.530. I've integrated SAP ERP with FDMEE but when doing the dataloads, I'm getting the below error related to OpenTools. Could someone please throw some light on this. I did import the sap-odi.jar files to spcified locations and added the file to ODI Studio.
After creating the data load rule, the ODI execution fails at "Launch GL Load Balances Data". Below is the error message:
    ODI-1226: Step GL_BALANCES_NEW_1 fails after 1 attempt(s).
ODI-1240: Flow GL_BALANCES_NEW_1 fails while performing a Loading operation. This flow loads target table BAL1_#P_SID.

Are you using the FDMEE SAP adapter or is this something custom with SAP that you're using to try and load the open interface table? I think that I've heard of this error before 'on the grape vine' from other folks who've been trying custom SAP loads using an FDMEE ODI Agent but not when using the Bristlecone SAP integration for FDMEE.
The class that can't be found in the classpath seems to be in the odi-core.jar file. It might be worth placing a copy of odi-core.jar in /Oracle/Middleware/odi/odi_misc to see if that can add the jar file to the classpath to get you past this.

  • SAP SNC Supplier Network Collaboration integration with SAP ERP via BizTalk - experiences?

    Hello,
had anybody experience in integration of SAP SNC Supplier Network  Collaboration with SAP ERP via BizTalk Server?
Versions: SAP ECC 6.0 Ehp5 SPS11, SAP SNC  current version (7.0?)
We will have to integrate following processes:
Master Data integration, PO Purchase Order, Forecast, SMI Supplier Managed Inventory
Usually SAP takes an SAP PI middleware for this, where the full implementation can be downloaded from the SAP marketplace, but we want to avoid having an additional Integration Platform with maintenance etc.
Are there experiences, success stories, pitfalls, issues to be known, recommendations, known efforts in this forum?
    Thanks in advance.

  • SAP ERP Sharepoint integration

    Hi,
Apologies if this is not the correct forum for this question.
I am trying to get work orders and permits from SAP ERP 4.7 or SAP ERP ECC 6.0 into a Sharepoint site.
Has anyone done this or something similar?
Can someone point out helpful documents or links in this respect?

    Hi,
I think you can use FTP function modules to send files from SAP to other systems.
the way i used to do is
    1) Extract the data
    2) create a text file on application server
    3) FTP the file using function modules
    4) delete the file from application server after certain period of time eg: 30 days.
let me know if this solution fits for you i am ready explain some more details if required.
    thanks,
    Venkat

  • Connection from Web Intelligence over Universe to SAP ERP without SAP BW

    Hi there,
is there a way to create a Universe which ic connected to SAP ERP (ECC 6.0) ? I want to use Web-Intelligence to create the Reports for my ERP-Data. But i don't want to make the way over SAP BW.
Otherwise i have to use Crystal because Crystal + SAP ERP Integration Kit can handle a connection to ERP. But then i have to waste a lot of time for the accuracy to a pixel which i dont need and i dont want...
    Any Ideas ?!
    Thanks
    Sebastian
Edited by: smenzl on Mar 31, 2010 9:17 AM

    Hi
    you have 4 options:
    1) Load your SAP ERP data into an SAP BW system and use OLAP universes to build WebI reports.
    2) Use Rapid marts for SAP. This product comprises Data Integrator mappings that will allow to load your SAP ERP data into a predefined DWH based on a relational data source (like DB2, MS SQL Server or Oracle). It also includes a universe based on the predefined relational DWH that will allow you to build WebI reports.
    3) Use the Data Federator with the SAP R/3 connector. Please note that the R/3 connector is NOT a product rather a prototype tand will be used at own risk (SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence Reporting for SAP ERP [original link is broken])
    4) NOT RECOMMENDED: Try to access the tables directly in the underlying database. Please note that this may work for some but not all of the ERP data. In several case the data are stored encoded in the underlying tables and there is no way to extract the required information. Additionally the ERP security will not be leveraged into the WebI report.
Crystal reports is the currently the only BO reporting tool, which supports direct access to SAP ERP data sources.

  • Extracting Data from SAP ERP using BODI/Data Services 4.0

    HI,
I am trying to extract data from SAP ERP via SAP extractors using BODI/Data Services 4.0.
I do not have my own ERP system so I am renting remote access from one of the many available on the internet.
I am able to connect BODI to the ERP system and import the extractors metadata.
The problem I am experiencing is that when I run job to extract the data I get the following error:
Vendor-supplied function module <Z_AW_RFC_READ_EXTRACTOR> not found. Ensure that you can execute the function module in SAP via transaction /nSE37.
How do I create the function? Or is the function a SAP standard function?
SAP ERP system being used is: ECC6 EHP4
User has SAP FULL and DEVELOPER authorizations.
    Any assistance would be appreciated.

You might have better luck in the (somewhat misnamed) [Data Integration and Data Quality Management|Data Services and Data Quality; forum:
This forum is dedicated to topics related to SAP BusinessObjects Data Services (Data Integrator, Data Quality Management, Text Data Processing), SAP BusinessObjects Information Steward (Metadata Management, Data Insight), SAP BusinessObjects Rapid Marts and SAP BusinessObjects Data Federator.
