SAP ERP EHP 5 - Activating Embeded Analytics (dashboards)
Hi
We (the basis team+BI team) have been trying to activate the dashboards that apparently come embedded in SAP ERP EHP 5. To test the functionality, we were hoping to demo the Cash Management Dashboards. Unfortunately non of the Dashboards are even listed on the NWBC (role cash management) after activation. We have activated the Reporting Financials 3 and 2. And have activated the Dashboard in RSOR in our ERP system. We also ran the BI Content Activation (workbench). We have replicated all Source Systems.
We feel we are maybe missing something. Could someone please share some light with regards to the following understanding:
1. We only need the ERP EHP 5 ABAP system (with BI content and BI Content Extension)
2. No Portal or any java instances (with BI Java Components) is required
3. A simple role (which one) should be enough to show the dashboards
4. We are using Scenario 2 for dashboards (i..e we are not planning to create our own therefore do not need Xcelsius Designer)
Your response will highly appreciated
kind regards
Ronny
For those struggling with the same, here's what I've found (and got to work) so far:
1. BI Java is required (install the latest) . So does the portal for Runtime environment for your dashboards
2. Define the BI (Abap AS) system on the portal
3. Run the BI Daignostic/service Desk tool to resolve any issues (e.g. Flash error - unable to access external data) Specifically the URL:
http://<Host name >:<port numebr>/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.ip.bi.supportdesk.default
4. Take a look at this document (regarding setting up BEX WEB configuration)
http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/00c4742a-3a4b-2b10-b4ae-b03d08bcde6e?QuickLink=index&overridelayout=true&48558900359425
5. Create a Role to access the reports from NWBC (transaction PFCG)
6. If its CRM, make sure CRM interactive reporting is configured fully before you even begin trying to run any of the dashboards
I hope this helps
Ronny

Parallele Bewertung von Bestu00E4nden mit SAP ERP EhP 5 mu00F6glich?
Guten Tag,

BPR - Selecting 46c/47 processes from BPR in ERP EHP logical component
Hello,
We have a project which will be used SAP ERP EnhP 5 for the project. So we have defined a logical component in SMSY with that product and version Z_ERP_EHP. Then we assigned it to the project in Solar Project Admin
When we are working in Solar01, and select a process (i.e. Accounts Payable) which says that it is valid for 4.6c on, however it is not associated to the Z_ERP_EHP logical component but tries to associate it to SAP R/3 logical component. It seems that SAP ERP EHP is not recognized as a successor of 4.6c. Then we have to reassign the process /process steps to the the Z.. logical component.
Am I missing something?
Esteban HartzsteinHello Volkner,
Thanks for your answer. To continue with you explanation, for the meantime, though I only use Central Application instance in the ERP EhP 4, I should be definying two logical components, one just for SAP ERP product and the other for the EhP, both pointing to the same landscape, so that I can correct select BPR processes.
Moreover, for each industry solution (IS OIL, Retail, etc.) I need to define different logical components.
I appreciate your input.

Product Version SAP ERP 6.0 Missing from solman 7.0
Hi All,
I have installed an ECC6 system and now i need to configure the solution manager and download the support packs
and xml file for EHP4 upgrade. I have done this before where in i configure the new system in SMSY as SAP ERP 6.0
and then configure maintenance optimizer and it gives me the option of Enhancement Package Installation.
However now in the current solution manager i dont see the product version SAP ERP 6.0 when im clicking
trying to creating a new system.
Our Solman version is 7.0 . I tried creating my new system under SAP ERP EHP as ehp version 1 and used maintenace
optimizer but it does not give me the option of EHP package installation. Can any one let me know how to address this
issue??
Regards,
Ershad Ahmed.Hi,
Goto Tcode SMSY
1. Under Landscape Components --> Product Systems --> Select ERP --> Under that select your system ID and click on it,
Goto --> Header Data on your right side, change the Product Version to SAP ERP 6.0 and SAVE.
2. Goto System Groups and Logical Components --> Logical Components --> SAP ERP --> Create NEW Logical Component for your ECC system under this component and select Production version as SAP ERP 6.0 & assign ur system then SAVE.
3. Goto System Groups and Logical Components --> Solution Landscapes-Operations --> Select your system landscape and REMOVE your ECC systen form the Solution and SAVE.
4. Goto System Groups and Logical Components --> Solution Landscapes-Operations --> Select your system landscape and ADD your ECC system form the Solution and SAVE.

Post installation steps for SAP PI, scenarios for SAP ERP 6.0 EhP 3.0 BAIO
Hi!
I installed SAP NetWeaver 2004S with PI component.
I also have a demo SAP ERP 6.0 EhP 3.0 BAIO system with several clients:
(100: demo client, 200: BW, 300: demo client (copy of 100)).
Questions:
what are the post installation steps to configure SAP PI?
Which scenarios can be used in such landscape?
(eg. exchange (IDOC, RFC, etc.) from client ERP:100 to ERP:200)
Thank you very much indeed!
regards
HolgerHi Holger:
what are the post installation steps to configure SAP PI?
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/a0/40084136b5f423e10000000a155106/content.htm
Which scenarios can be used in such landscape?
(eg. exchange (IDOC, RFC, etc.) from client ERP:100 to ERP:200)
I recommend you to use proxys in your landscape as you want to interchange messages between
different clients in the same system.
Hope this helps you.

Clipboard activity coming from SAP ERP in an interaction record
Hi, do you know if it's possible to have activity created in SAP ERP to be linked to an interaction record in CRM? As an exemple; A customer call, interaction record is started, the rep modify something for that customer in SAP ERP (IS-U). Is it possible to see in the clipboard for that interaction record the object that was modified in the ERP? Thanks
Sijo thank you so much for your reply. I guess thats the way we are heading towards as we found there's nothing you can do from the config. Now we are trying our luck through customer development.
Thank you so much for your reply.
Cheers

Demo for SAP ERP 6.0 EhP 3.0 BAIO with 2 clients
Hi!
I successfully configured SAP PI and have a SAP ERP 6.0 EhP 3.0 BAIO with 2 clients.
ERP: 100 (Business System A)
ERP: 200 (Business System B)
Which scenarios can I start with (ABAP Proxy, RFC-to-File, etc.) and where can I find the appropriate documentaiton therefore?
Thank you very much!

HolgerHi,
Please kindly check the SAP note 1402868.
This note refers to language on EHP4.
After the EHP, some packages are delivered, and for those packages, the
Language Supplementation is required.
Please refer to the sap attached note 330104.
This note explains about the packages that need supplementation after
the EHP.

Component Version "SAP ERP 6.0" instead of "EHP 4 for SAP ERP 6.0 /7.0"
Hi All,
We went to ERP Enhancement Package 4 in ours SAP Systems.
We performed the upgrade (with the SAPehpi tool) in DEV and TEST, the weird part is that in DEV the System Data - Component Version shows "SAP ECC 6.0" and in TEST shows "EHP 4 for SAP ERP 6.0 /7.0".
The 2 systems have the same SP level.
Any idea ?
Thanks,
Juan.Hi,
After EHP4 upgrade it should show ECC 6.0 only.
check below thread:

EHP 6 for Sap ERP availability
Dears ,
I'm planning to upgrade to EHP5 a lot of ECC 604 systems, but I would like to know pratically when EHP6 should be available.
I would like to avoid to have the EHP6 in GA while I'm in the middle of the EHP5 upgrade of some system......obviously if the EHP6 is available we have to upgrade to EHP6 instead of EHP5.
Anyone know when it's going to be released ?
RegardsDear Roberto,
The EhP6 for SAP ERP 6.0 is currently in Ramp-Up phase, and the completition of this Ramp-Up phase is planned for the second quarter of 2012.
Therefore, the General Availability of EhP6 could be between May and June 2012. Anyhow, this GA date is not fixed and it is subject to change depending on how the Ramp-Up phase is going.
I would recommend you to check the Product Availability Matrix (http://service.sap.com/pam); once that the release date for EhP6 is published you will be able to see it here:
[http://service.sap.com/pam|http://service.sap.com/pam|Link to the Product Availability Matrix] --> in the Search box write EhP6 and click the "Search in PAM" button
There you will find the date when the EhP6 will be released.

It is needed to connect this system with solution manager and create stack.xml using
maintanance optimizer. The main aim of this is to let you know what usage types/ functionalities are to be
selected from stack.xml.
It is also needed to download all the required support packs/ addons using maintanance optimizer.
If you have DVDs containing the same product that matches with stack.xml, you can provide them.
But the safest way is is to give all the tasks to solution manager , It will create , and download neccesary sps, addons to your
download basket.
Thanks and Regards

SAP ERP 6.0 EHP7 upgrade optimal resources
Hi,
I am performing EHP7 up gradation on SAP ERP 6.0.
SYSTEM H/W: 8 CPU's 50 GB RAM
OS : windows server 2008 R2
DB: oracle 11.2.0.5.0
SAP source release : ERP 6.0
SAP target release : ERP 6.0 including EHP 7
I have performed above said activity on test system / development system / quality system /production system. The time to complete different systems varied beyond my expected/planned values.
I understood that there are users logged into production system till pre processing stage of SUM tool.So the long running phases (ACT_UPG , SHADOW_IMPORT , etc ) took approximately double the time than other systems.
May i know various other other reasons ,for productions system , which reduces performance (in terms of run time). Is there any ways to improve performance (in terms of run time) .
I have increased R3trans processes,Batch process to higher values during configuration phase of SUM tool. What are the optimal values which can be given in for fast upgrade.
thanks & regards
uday reddyFirst read the SAP note 1616401 - Understanding parallelism during the Upgrades, EhPs and Support Packages implementations to understand how you can make use of parallelism when you are doing an upgrade. There is no point in having more R3trans processes assigned when there is no sufficient resources available on the server. In order to make effective use of this you should make sure there is enough CPU and memory available on the system.
The activation phase is expected to run for a long time but there are possibilities to improve the performance by adapting the memory parameters of the shadow system. You may refer to these SAP notes 1674812 - Performance improvement for ACT_UPG
1223360 - Composite SAP Note: Performance optimization during import

Hi Gurus,
I am pretty new to embedded analytics and was wondering, does SAP have a roadmap for expanding the area at all? We are just starting to set up the embedded analytics internally as a POC per the steps in Raf Boudewijns' four part blog (link to part 1), so I understand that CR and Dashboards are able to be configured for operational reporting. I am wondering if there is a plan to expand the business suite analytics to other BOBJ reporting tools (e.g. Lumira, BOBJ Explorer, etc.). Knowing there is a large push for HANA it would seem like expanding the capabilities to other reporting tools would be of benefit in the long run...
I will admit that I am still quite green in this area (I am more experienced with the BOBJ reporting suite, in fact) which prompted this question. I'm hopeful someone with an ear closer to SAP might know more than me and be able to provide insight into what the future holds for embedded analytics.
Regards,
ChrisHey Christopher,
yes, you can work with other BO tools, which I was supposed to add in another part of the blog. Since I'm no longer full-time at the client we "experimented" with EA, that's getting more time than expected. I'll try to add another part today.
Anyways, you'll have to work with OpenDocument if you want results. Dashboards however, won't work unless you use the "old" version (xCelsius) and BCV ór you use Dashboards 4.1 (but then certain restrictions apply). I managed to get it to work with the "old" version (old installation/server was not yet removed), but not with 4.1 (as the client is on BI 4.0 SP7). An ex-colleague of mine tested the OpenDocuments for Dashboards on a BI 4.1 SP2 and he told me that worked. In our case that meant going forward with WebI instead of Dashboards. We actually got it to work apart from an issue with the "tagging" (see paragraph below). Meanwhile the project has been put "on hold" (and maybe even cancelled as it has been on hold for 2 months now).
In my opinion, SAP is not investing in this anymore at all. We have an incident open with them since February (concerning a serious bug with the tagging framework) and the last 2 months there has been no action whatsoever. I asked them at the beginning of this month (7th or 8th) whether it would be worthwile to reopen the connections (as you can only open them for 20 days), but they didn't even bother to read that message yet.
Also, HANA Live works differently from what I've learned (from people working on it right now at a previous project of mine). From what I understand, it's merely a combination of (HANA) views on standard SAP tables (which you could extend to some way). I hope to get more details on that this weekend.
Cheers,
Raf
