SAP ERP (Logistics) IT Process monitoring KPI's

Dear all,
I have to come up with the KPI's to monitor SAP Processes (Especially logistic processes) from IT perspective. I present you with two possible scenarios for a more clear picture.
One is that an ERP system is launched at a new location (Here you have to monitor that if the tool is in use after implementation)
The second situation is that, it has been quite some time since the implementation of tool (Here you have to monitor if all the defined processes are being followed for example every order from purchase order to delivery is processed in the system and there is no manual work or violation of proper procedure ).
The problem is to separate the Logistics processes from IT processes. The aim is to develop KPI's that purely monitor effective use of SAP ERP from IT's perspective.
I would like you to recommend me some reference material or the ideas that can help me to find the right solution.

On SAP level we have some stats like nr. of changes per table... .
On DB02 you can analyze how much space a table allocates...
On database level (e.g. on ORACLE) one can analyze the nr. of INSERTS / UPDATES / DELETES per table... .
And the database statistics will not help as well since they are not updated daily...
If you really need that information you have to do something on your own.... .

I am on SAP Solution Manager 7.0 and have the following SAP landscape:
SAP XI/PI, SAP ERP 2005.
I would like to monitor the IDOCs sending from SAP ERP to SAP XI in Business Process Monitoring.
I successfully acitvated the Business Process Monitoring.
My problem:
I cannot choose/see any business processes in the area Business Process Monitoring Setup --> Business Processes.
I already defined the Solution Support Organization with 2 members and choossed all the monitoring roles.
Qurstion
How to make visible any business processes in this area?

Additional Configurations to Usage GR Message in SAP ERP

Hi Experts,
I am trying to use the GR-Message, I followed the steps described in the blog Usage of GR Message in SAP ERP posted by Tao Zhang, but when i execute transaction MIGO for goods receipt, the email is not send it. When i see the transaction SCOT, there is not email waiting to be processed.
Somebody knows which additional configuration i have to do, to guarantee the delivery of email?

Hi Simpson,
I suppose you can configure an output determination to manage your requirement at the time the GR is done.
Go to t-code NACE, select application ME Inventory Management and check Output types. You can use MLGR or create a new Output type.. it could be send by email here.
In addition, you will need to maintain the conditions to determine your output... You can also do this in t-code NACE. Select ME and press condition records.

Could anybody tell me whether SAP XI has any Business Process Modelling tools or any Process Monitoring tools?
If any, are these analogous to IBM WBIs Modeller and Monitor? Also does SAP XI provide any human interaction?

In the XI-Repository you can build Business Procces with the Process Builder.
for Monitoring you can use the Workflow Monitoring on XI.

PI Integration between SAP ERP system and Cloud for Customer

Hi,
We have set up integration between Cloud for Customer tenant and our SAP ERP system via PI.
For performing initial load, when we try to activate change pointers for Message types in the SALE transaction, we don't find the MATMAS_CFS and DEBMAS_CFS in the ERP system(IDES ECC 6.0 EhP6).
CODERINT 600(SP1 &2) are installed and BC set COD_BYD_ERP_INT is activated in the system.
Could anyone let us know what are we missing here, so that we can get the message types.
Also we tried using Message type MATMAS for sending a message from ERP to Cloud for Customer. In PI message monitoring, the status shows as 'Processed successfully', however we do not find the message in Business Communication Monitoring in the Cloud system. neither do we see the Business Object created for that Material master.
Please let me know how to debug such a scenario.

How to configure sap maxdb client to connect to SAP ERP system (SAP HR)

I am currently installing live cache for SAP ERP HR application(Idoc), can anybody tell me the sequence to proceed to configure SAP livecache with SAP ERP system. i am doing following steps
1. Install SAP DB using installation MAXDB CDs
2. Install SAP Livecache and standalone server SCM 5.0 using SAP ERP master and Livecache dvds.
3. install Livecache client fromSAP ERP master and livecache dvds between SAP ERP and livecache server.
4. configure in LC10, tcode.
but when i press on livecache monitoring in LC10 it gives me following error.

SAP Sourcing 7.0 integration with SAP ERP - issue with SAP PI

Hi All,
We are integrating SAP Sourcing 7.0 with SAP ERP 6.0 with SAP PI 7.1 in middle. So the Sourcing will talk to PI and this intern will talk to ERP. Sourcing is on oracle 11g where as PI and ERP are on SQL 2008. All these 3 are on windows 2003 x64.
We are following the "Configuration Guide Integration of SAP ERP and SAP Sourcing 7.0" provided by SAP.
We have successfully configured Sourcing and PI systems as pe the document. In Sourcing, by using background jobs we are able to successfully generate files in "export" folder which is part of FTP directory.
However the issue is with PI, we configured the "configuration scenerio" in Integration builder and point all channels to the FTP folder in Sourcing. But PI is not picking up these files.
Is there any way to trigger this in PI system. Or do we need to do anything in sourcing itself.

How to analyse the main memory usage in SAP ERP systems?

Dear expert,
I'm doing a research work about analysing the main memory usage in SAP ERP systems.
I would like to find out what is load in buffers and when. That means, which process have the control of these memories and which are always performing something, tables loaded, and so on. Becuase I tried to isolate the space needed by a simple webservice call (create one material) in my test system, but even after a $SYN there are something stored in the buffers. I use a BAPI to avoid the execution of the SAPGUI and its repercussion in the system (I know the BAPI called uses resources too, but when I run this BAPI to get the statistics, it's like ST02, I get different values). Could someone help me or recommend something specific to read? Thanks a lot in advance.

The point is now that I want to isolate the memory used by a webservice that I call, I mean, I would like to know how many memory is this webservice using in each buffer. And could you tell me where could I read something about the order that things happen in SAP System when a webservice is called (always memory related), that's which steps are done to store data in buffers and so on. Extracting Data from SAP ERP using BODI/Data Services 4.0

HI,
I am trying to extract data from SAP ERP via SAP extractors using BODI/Data Services 4.0.
I do not have my own ERP system so I am renting remote access from one of the many available on the internet.
I am able to connect BODI to the ERP system and import the extractors metadata.
The problem I am experiencing is that when I run job to extract the data I get the following error:
Vendor-supplied function module <Z_AW_RFC_READ_EXTRACTOR> not found. Ensure that you can execute the function module in SAP via transaction /nSE37.
How do I create the function? Or is the function a SAP standard function?
SAP ERP system being used is: ECC6 EHP4
User has SAP FULL and DEVELOPER authorizations.

Error in the SAP ERP 6.0 Installation

i have a error in the phase 43 of 46 in the ERP 6.0 Installation.
Here are my UTL_configure_usages.log , i hope everone can help me by the solution. It´s my first time at the Installation of a SAP System.

How to input text in the SAP ERP intial screen.

Hello.
How to input text when I load the SAP ERP system. before log in.
(this screen show me only the ID and password input fields)
I saw the initial screen inclued some user-customized text.
I can not find any information about initial scrren, as before the log in.
If you know how to do, please let me know.

The problem was solved.
I found notes about this case. notes number is 205487.
process like this:
1) using transaction se61
2) change 'document class' field -> 'General text'
3) input Name field [ZLOGIN_SCREEN_INFO]
4) Click Create button.
5) and u can see the text-editor
6) insert ur message and save.
that's all
