SAP ERP version release info

Hi,
how will i find whether the installed SAP ERP system is of SR1 /SR2 /SR3 ?
is there any t code / OS level file to know this information....
This will be useful if i don't have the sap installation folder and i want to take an export for the system.

Hi,
Are you refering to Enhancement packs ?
If so, then check the SAP_APPL under System > Status. This will show 600, 601, 602 or 603. It appears you have only 600 so that implies no enhancement pack. Actual support pack will also be visable as SAPKH60009 for patch 9 on 600 or SAPKH60302 meaning patch 2 on enhancement pack 3, etc..

Hello community,
I have installed and customized B2C shop (version 5.0) for SAP ERP 6.0 (NO TREX, NO IPC).
At first i maintained my shop with english language and after i checked out that all work properly i decided to localize it for russian language.
I created new shop for russian language and faced the following problem: list of products in my shop displays correctly but when i want to check detailed description of product (click on product in list) i see something like this &#1053 &#1086 &#1091 &#1090 &#1073 &#1091 &#1082 instead of description on russian.
Can somebody help me to sort out this issue?

SAP R/3 different versions, release years

HI SAP Gurus,
Can any body please can give me the details of SAP R/3 releases and its release years .
Example : in 2004 or 205 ECC5 is released and in 2006 ECC6 is released,
This also i am not sure i am just giving as an example.
I just want to know from 4.5B to till ECC6, whe each version is released by SAP.

I want to know about the SAP ERP Release strategy. upto my knowledge ECC6 is the latest version in ERP.
Is their any change in installation procedure or environment between 4.7ee and ECC6.

Hi Vivek,
The SAP releases newer versions, these new versions has more functionality and features to meet the present business requirements,
for eg: You dont prefer to work Windows 98 no since you dont have all the additional features what you find in your present windows systems, like ease of use. Similarly SAP needs to come up with new functionality in order to make the client/customer feel comfort in running his business.
Similarly the installation procedure varies from 4.7EE to ECC5, in earlier versions you have installation tool R3setup which works in slightly different way and GUI screen input options are different.
From ECC5 we had SAPINST tool where you have more user friendly screen and easy to understand what each feild means and also you can restart the installation from where stopped.
About maintanence, SAP will give free support to its cleints for a term i think 5yrs, later there will be additional support for 3 yrs(this has to be paid), and later if still customer wanted support SAP provides for another 2 yrs(the cost is more) and after this SAP doesnot provide any support for that version and the client has to upgrade his software (since client pays for license every yr, which cost him same for older and newer version, its better suggested to get it upgraded)
Now most of companies has moved to ECC6(due to extensive functionalities of java stack) and many features of SAP work with SAP kernel 620 and above.

Differences between Product Version SAP ERP 2005 and SAP ECC 6.0

Hello Guys,
I have to setup an new XI interface between two R/3 system. During Integration Scenario setup you have to select under Application Component Type the Product version for the R/3 systems.
Now, i am able to select SAP ERP 2005 or SAP ECC 6.0 from menu
Could someone tell me the differences between SAP ERP 2005 and SAP ECC 6.0. Both are listed as Product Versions.

SAP ECC 6.0 is latest version 2005 is last year version . as you are intergatin between 2 . you need select accordingly our source and target.

Need clarification on application of OSS Release Note:391846 in SAP ERP 6.0

Hi Experts,
We are upgrading the SAP R/3 4.7 to SAP ERP 6.0 in one of our client. In SAP R/3 4.7, OSS Note:391846 has been applied for Automatic Explosion of BOM while converting the planned order. I would like to know whether this functionality is covered in SAP ERP 6.0 or is it required to apply the same OSS note in SAP ERP 6.0?

Dear Venkat,
note 391846 is also valid for ERP600.
This modification is not part of the SAP Standard Release 600. It's also in 600 a modification.
If you want this function you have to implement the note again in your actual release.

Component Version "SAP ERP 6.0" instead of "EHP 4 for SAP ERP 6.0 /7.0"

Hi All,
We went to ERP Enhancement Package 4 in ours SAP Systems.
We performed the upgrade (with the SAPehpi tool) in DEV and TEST, the weird part is that in DEV the System Data - Component Version shows "SAP ECC 6.0" and in TEST shows "EHP 4 for SAP ERP 6.0 /7.0".
The 2 systems have the same SP level.
Any idea ?

Product Version SAP ERP 6.0 Missing from solman 7.0

Hi All,
I have installed an ECC6 system and now i need to configure the solution manager and download the support packs
and xml file for EHP4 upgrade. I have done this before where in i configure the new system in SMSY as SAP ERP 6.0
and then configure maintenance optimizer and it gives me the option of Enhancement Package Installation.
However now in the current solution manager i dont see the product version SAP ERP 6.0 when im clicking
trying to creating a new system.
Our Solman version is 7.0 . I tried creating my new system under SAP ERP EHP as ehp version 1 and used maintenace
optimizer but it does not give me the option of EHP package installation. Can any one let me know how to address this
issue??

Goto Tcode SMSY
1. Under Landscape Components --> Product Systems --> Select ERP --> Under that select your system ID and click on it,
Goto --> Header Data on your right side, change the Product Version to SAP ERP 6.0 and SAVE.
2. Goto System Groups and Logical Components --> Logical Components --> SAP ERP --> Create NEW Logical Component for your ECC system under this component and select Production version as SAP ERP 6.0 & assign ur system then SAVE.
3. Goto System Groups and Logical Components --> Solution Landscapes-Operations --> Select your system landscape and REMOVE your ECC systen form the Solution and SAVE.
4. Goto System Groups and Logical Components --> Solution Landscapes-Operations --> Select your system landscape and ADD your ECC system form the Solution and SAVE.

In my actual version in transaction MIGO i can do it but no in transaction MB01.

In MB01, post GR w.r.t the purchase order & the components in the PO will be shown, you can then de-select those components which you do not want to receive at that point.

Does anybody know benefices of upgrading SAP ERP from version ECC 6.0 EHP 7 to ECC 6.06 EHP 10?

An upgrade of ERP SAP from version ECC 6.0 EHP 7 to ECC 6.06 EHP 10 is being planned in the company I work for. However, I don´t know what the benefices are to implement this upgrade so I wonder if someone knows benefices of upgrading SAP ERP from version ECC 6.0 EHP 7 to ECC 6.06 EHP 10?
