  • Question on SAP Fax Connector

    Here's the query:
    Background:
SAP R/3 application will produce a few type of reports/document (Order Confirmation/Payment Remittances etc) These reports/documents then have to be faxed or email depending on the user preference. The process that generates these reports is typically a batch process. The status of the fax (Success/Failure/Waiting) has to be updated back in SAP.
    Questions:
In the above scenario - how to implement the fax part?
Is a 'SAP Fax Connector' needed for this?
or in other words - Can this be achieved without a Fax Connector?
If yes, what are the advantages/disadvantages of both methods.

    Hi Sanjana,
Its better not to touch the standard sap generated program for the query, better choice would be copy the program to Z program and then make the changes what ever you require.
Then create the tcode for that zreport and execute it and you can transport it to other environments.
you can directly give the tcode to the process folks.

  • SAP Fax : Integration of MS Outlook and Genifax

    Hello SDN Users,
For our R3 System (SAP_BASIS  620 0067), we have a third party connector named "Genifax" for sending/receiving faxes from SAP.
Cuurently we have a requirement to check the possibilty for return receipt message , for every failed fax attempt from SAP, in user's inbox.
    Is this possible ?
Please provide your inputs , how can we integrate Genifax with MS Outlook.
    Thanks

    hi,
after the CDO, you should run 'office diagnostics' in your Outlook (only in Outlook 2007, but honestly, I think next step is more important)
    Next, run fixmapi.exe
look it up on your computer, right click on it and choose 'open'.
You won't see a program running or so, opening it suffices.

  • SAP faxing from all-in-one (printer/copier/scanner/fax) device

    Hi,
We have a all-in-one printer/copier/scanner/fax (Ricoh Aficio 3025) and would like to make use of it to send fax from SAP.
I know how to set it up as a printer.  But how should I go about setting it up to send fax?
    Can someone help?
    Thanks in advance.

You can't just set it up as a fax... you need a fax server in order to send faxes  (I.E. Rightfax)... basically the way it works is that you create a node in SCOT for faxes and send the data to the fax server via SMTP and the fax server deliver the fax to your hardware.

  • SAP R/3 4.7 custom Fax Cover Page default setting in Workplace Fax Entries

How can we implement a custom Z form SAP fax cover page as the default fax cover page in SAP workplace, it makes you enter the Z form name in fax cover page entries when we tested it each time you do a fax, Iu2019m sure the users arenu2019t going to want to do that.   Research Iu2019ve done on SAP seems to say you change the Default SAP fax cover page form in transaction SO41 the OFFICE-TELEFAX form which had the From: company name and address hardcoded with SAPu2019s German company name and address which we don't want to use.

We decided to use Z fax cover created from OFFICE-TELEFAX and when you enter the Z fax cover name in fax detail entries it keeps the entry in field in SBWP we've found so you don't have to retype it in and we hardly do any user controlled fax of reports right from SAP, mostly email of reports they do thru SBWP SAP Office.  And auto fax, auto email of documents with NACE records thru SCOT, SOST transaction to an Esker Deliveryware fax server.

  • SAP R/3 4.7 Fax Header settings.

SAP R/3 4.7 Fax Header settings. Sending fax from SAP Office, Workplace SBWP goes thru SCOT to faxserver and shows status in SOST in SAP which doesn't show this header page. When the fax gets sent it has a first page of an SAP fax header page that just has SAP Aktiengesellschaft, Systems, Applications, Products in Data Processing on it. Where is this at in SAP to change it or stop it from being sent.

  • SAP certified Fax Software Solutions

    Hello,
We are requested to configure SAP for faxing purchase orders directly to the vendor.
The challenge is to do this without the purchase of any SAP Faxing Software.
Has anyone configured SAP faxing without the use of a SAP Faxing Software package?  I.e. using only a server installed with the MS fax services and nothing more?  If so, was it successful or not?
My fear is that without a Faxing Software, it will be a very manual operation, i.e. error handling and monitoring, etc., which can contribute to high administrative overhead as well as increase of failed faxes.
If it is not logical to do this without a Faxing Software, can anyone recommend the names of the products they are using?  I know of RightFax, but besides that, are there others that come highly recommended?
Forgot to mention:  we are running ERP (ECC 5.0) and SRM (SRM 4.0)
    Thanks!

The challenge is to do this without the purchase of any SAP Faxing Software
This sounds like flying without a plane...
Never tried MS fax services... but basically you need a FAX software that can handle SMTP. To be fairly honest I always worked with Rightfax and its really good but I'm sure theres lots of other FAX softwares certified by SAP that are as easy to use...

    Hi ,
You need to check with your BASIS team whether they have SAP Fax /email /PDF services implemented or active.
Most of the clients would have activated Email//PDF process , but not fax ...So check with your techies and there are specific notes available on service.sap.com which will walk you through the required set-by-step implementaiton. Please download these notes from sap oss site.

  • FAX send format in SCOT

    Dear experts,
we want to send faxes out from SAP to the so-called Rightfax Solution.
The standard SAP fax send format in SCOT is (when using the SMTP node):
    FAX=<fax number>@<fax server domain>
    Example:
    FAX=123456@sap-dot-com
    Problem:
The Rightfax Solution only accepts faxes from SAP if they have the send format:
    [FAX:<recipient name>@<fax number>]
    OR
    [RFAX:<recipient name>@<fax number>]
    OR
    fax=<fax number>/pn=<recipient name>@<fax server domain>
--> Is it possible to configure SAP to use one of those output formats ?
    Thanks a lot & cheers,
    Marc

    Hello,
    thanks for your answer.
I already checked the SAP Library but there they only speak about the default fax send format which is FAX=<fax number>@<fax server domain>
My question is if we can modify this outgoing fax format?
    Happy about any input!
    Cheers,
    Marc
One remark: The Fax output device creation in SPAD is not possible anymore as of release 6.10

  • Custom fax cover sheet

    Hello,
    My scenario is this:
I need to send a custom smartform or sapscript cover sheet in the same output process of faxing smartform PO's, Quotations, Invoces and several other documents.  I don't see anywhere in configuration where something like this can be done.  Does anyone have any ideas on how to accomplish this?
    Thank you,
    JR

Time for a little give-back from me....
Having just worked on this same issue and not finding a solution from SDN (which was unusual) I thought I'd better let you know what I have found..
Transactions SO41,SO42 and SO43 show the default SAP fax cover sheets.
They are kept in client 000 and you need to use SE71 (SAPScript forms) to copy the required form (and rename to Z...), then you are free to modify it as required (Add a logo etc).
Make sure you classify the form as a SAP office form, there are instructions for doing this in the SAP library.
You can test it in SO01 without sending the fax anywhere, create a fax to recipient GB 1234567 or any other fake number, double click on the sender and you will get a popup of the fax details (sender info, receiver info and the cover sheet to use).
or you can use SO_OBJECT_SEND, make sure the recevicers-recextnam field is populated using the SADRFD structure.
and here's the subroutine I use to send a list as a fax with a custom cover sheet :
and below that is a similar subroutine to send emails...

  • Faxing from all-in-one printers

    Hi,
Has anyone setup SAP faxing via those all-in-one printers?
A typical example is to fax PO to vendors.  The vendor fax number can be setup as part of the vendor info.
Does it mean that I set the fax (printer) as a printer in SPAD?
What else should I do to set it up?

  • SMTP Node for GFI Faxmaker

GFI Faxmaker setup in ECC 6.0
    Hi,
We are using a old Version of GFI Faxmaker. Its connected via RFC and a little Program called "SAP FAX Gateway".
Now we updated the Faxmaker and GFI said that they can communicate with SAP directly via SMTP.
SAP Fax Gateway is out of date.
But my problem is that we are also using Exchange via SMTP and I can created a second SMTP Node in SCOT!?
I found a sap note that is saying "only one smtp node per system"!?
In this GFI Notes the screenshot shows 2 smtp nodes? GFI is giving no support for Faxmaker and SAP.
    http://kbase.gfi.com/showarticle.asp?id=KBID003295
    Any Ideas?

    Hi,
This question has already been answered several times....
It is not possible to install several SMTP nodes in SCOT. Therefore the solution is to install an SMTP relay software which is able to use rules to route the mails to different SMTP servers (Exchange or GFI Faxmlaker).
There is a lot of choices for SMTP relay softwares whether commercial or freeware.

  • Automate receiving a fax and creation of PO thru SAP

    Hi SAP Gurus,
I have a typical problem. I want to receive the Purchase Order thru fax into SAP. Convert it to text, read it and then automatically create a PO in SAP.
The process of receiving the fax and converting it into text can be done using a 3rd party process. But then SAP should be able to retireve this text from a text file and create a PO by itself.
    A solution is desparately sought.
    Thanks & regards,
    Madhur

You should see the text file and then check if logic can be built to read and understand the text file using ABAP program.
e.g if the data is at a definite position in the text file or you can use pattern search to find the data.
The idea is that your program should be able to read and differentiate the PO data of text file ..like material, qty , amount etc.
You need to write an ABAP program which can be scheduled to run at regular intervals.
This program will read the text data from the file and convert it into the data required in BAPI BAPI_PO_CREATE ( or BAPI_PO_CREATE1)...Then call the BAPI to create POs.
    Cheers,
    Ram
