SAP Fiori Client on Mobile gives a certificate error

Hi ,
When i try to open the SAP Fiori Client App on my android mobile it gives a Certificate Error as seen in the below screenshot. To use the app I connect to the VPN so that the app is connected to the appopriate server.My android version is 4.2.2.
What may be the possible solution to the issue being faced?

Hi,
The methods mentioned in the other thread is not a solution, at best a workaround. It stops the automatic redirect from port 80 to 443 or stop forcing SSL for the authentication page, which is a bad idea. No network admin will allow that.
The problem you are facing is most probably due to self signed certificate used in the GW server for SSL purpose. SAP Fiori Client does not support self-signed certificate.
Please ask the admin to use a certificate from a public CA which should solve the problem.

Dear Community,
I have been creating simple apps using SAPUI5. Especially the sap.m library is very useful in creating applications on mobile apps. Recently I came across the SAP Fiori Client:

This seams like a nice gadget for getting a better performance out of web application. However, I am not able to get something running in this client. All I get is a white screen. I do the following:
1.) Create a new app or download a Fiori app via se38->/UI5/UI5_REPOSITORY_LOAD and make some changes in eclipse
2.) Upload the app to our NW gateway using the team provider
3.) Use runs as->Run on ABAP server
4.) Grep the URL and paste it in the settings of the Fiori Client on my Iphone.
As mentioned before I only get a white screen in the client. If I open the URL directly in the browser of Iphone everythings is fine. Is there something I have to add to my app in order to get it running in the sap fiori client? In the documentation of the client I have not found any hints.
Perhaps anybody can help me out on this one.

thanks for the quick reply. I was using the URL for a specific Fiori app, created when I pressedthe run as->run on ABAP server in eclipse.
So I think your suggestion with the Launchpad is the correct way to go. How do I configure the Fiori Launchpad?
Do you have a reference on this topic? I have found some stuff via google, but I am not sure if this is a good one. (Setup of SAP Fiori Launchpad - SAP Fiori for SAP Business Suite - SAP Library )

Sap fiori app, is it mobile app or app works in mobile browser, for receiving notifications

is fiori app is a real mobile app, or is it purely application that works on mobile browser.
we have installed sap fiori client from google playstore. configured sap fiori client with fiori launchpad url, so we are able to access the fiori app.
if we want to develop fiori mobile app to work like news app, for e.g. a notifications should be received to the mobile user, even without mobile user explicitly opening the sap fiori client app. e.g. incase of news app, when the mobile user gets notification, then clicks on the notification, this opens the news app.
can we achieve/develop sap fiori app, which can send the notifications to mobile users.
our customer wants notifications like "Your leave request approved" to their employees on their mobile, as soon as the leave is approved by manager.
currently our customer can see only when they manually launch fiori launchpad from their mobile.

Fiori Client Creation

Hi,
Getting Started with Kapsel - Part 14 -- SAP Fiori Client (New in SP04)
we have tried to create a fioriclient based on the above blog. Did all the steps mentioned and was able to create .apk file and deploy to the Emulator and phone. The app shows with the FioriClient image. But when I run the app, i I only see a white blank screen. we are not using SMP.

New SAP Fiori Launchpad issues

Hi all,
I want to use the new Fiori Launchpad, but I ran into two issues:
1 - When I try to logon at the new Launchpad, the result is the following image:
Instead, the old Launchpad was this :
2- If I want to set the new Lanchpad URL in the APP 'SAP Fiori client', after the Logon procedure the home page does not appears .

Ok for this information but why is this not configured by default ?
As a customer, all these not standard configurations add a lot to the complexity and to the cost of implementing Fiori apps.
SAP marketing is always telling us that SAP FIORI is a set of plug and play applications.
This is obviously not the case and internally our managers wonder why it takes so much time and money to install "plug and play" applications.
The change of mind between the Launch Page and the Launch Pad is also so confusing...
When will the "Launch Something New" arrive ?
The SAP Customer Experience Group should really try to improve the SAP Customer Experience !

SAP B1 Client upgrade in Vista Ultimate OS

I am using Vista Ultimate. I am able to install the SAP B1 2005 B client in the Client system. I am unable to upgrade the client. It gives me an error saying that wrong user name or password. I am fully sure that the user name and passwords are right. Please help

Method 1 - When installing from the Client Setup folder in B1-SHR folder
1. After we choose the path to install the SAPB1 client, one window pops up asking the Database server LoginID and password.
2. On giving the correct login credentials, the following error message is given by the system. 'Wrong User Name or Password'
Method 2 - When Installing from the CD
1. The SAP B1 client is getting installed in the Client computer.
2. When connecting to a company after giving the login credentials, the system asks whether to upgrade the client to a higher patch version. On clicking 'OK', then system gives the following error message 'Wrong User Name or Password'
I have installed the same SAP B1 client in the xp computers. Hope I have clearly explained. Thanks

Backend configuration for Fiori client

Hi experts,
we would like to try out the Fiori client for Android (Link: SAP Fiori Client - Android Apps on Google Play), but I don't know which URL has to be entered in the client.
SAP fiori is accessable on our SAP Server in web browser via URL https://server:port/sap/bc/ui5_ui5/ui2/ushell/shells/abap/FioriLaunchpad.html, but when I try to use that URL within Fiori client I get a 404 error. The same goes when just I use https://server:port.
Which URL does the Fiori client expect for connection to SAP backend? Or does this indicate that the backend isn't fully configured for connection from SAP Fiori client?

You were correct... I am ashamed to tell you that it was a network issue.....
Unfortunately I have a follow-up issue. Instead of the new fancy login page I get only get an old-fashioned one when starting the LaunchPad URL (the one also mentioned in my first post):
When starting the fiori admin panel via URL https://server:port/sap/bc/ui5_ui5/sap/arsrvc_upb_admn/main.html the new login page is properly displayed:
Any idea what is causing this? It puzzles me since both URLs should use the same HTTP handler from ICF node /default_host/sap/bc/ui5_ui5?

Deploying BOE XI 3.1 SP2 apps on SAP NW J2EE 7.0/7.11 - 404 Error

Hi,
I'm experiencing problems with opening InfoView + Cmc after deploying to SAP J2EE. What happens is that I can open up the URLs and the page is displayed with the logo, header etc., but instead of the login box I get a 404 error - "ressource can not be found"
We have tried the following scenarios:
- BOE XI 3.1 SP2 deployed on a separate application server (SAP J2EE 7.11) - This gives the above error
- BOE XI 3.1 SP2 deployed on a separate application server (SAP J2EE 7.0) - This gives the above error
- BOE XI 3.1 deployed on a separate application server (the same SAP J2EE 7.0 as above) - This does NOT give the error - everything works fine.
So somehow it seems like the SP2 deployment files does not work properly (or I am doing something wrong).
Any ideas?

Hi Jacob,
please take a look at the release notes of SP2 ([http://service.sap.com/releasenotes]). There is a case where the deployment of SAP.war ( and of crystalreports.war ) on SAP Netweaver 7.1 can fail. You have to edit the related web.xml file manually as described below:
ADAPT01190939: SAP Integration: Deploying SAP
web applications to Netweaver 7.1
When a user tries to deploy SAP web applications to SAP Netweaver7.1,
they may find that SAP.war does not deploy successfully using either wdeploy
or the deploy script supplied by SAP Netweaver7.1.
To resolve this issue, use the following steps:
1. Go to <Business Objects install directory>\Business Objects
Enterprise 12.0\java\applications.
2. Backup your SAP.war file.
3. Open SAP.war with Win RAR.
4. Navigate to the WEB-INF folder within Win RAR.
5. Copy the web.xml file to your desktop.
6. Open web.xml in a text editor (Notepad for example).
7. Search for u201C$u201D character and delete it.
8. Save the file.
9. Copy the web.xml you edited back into Win RARu2019s explorer. A dialog will
open asking if you wish to replace the existing web.xml file.
10. Click OK.
11. Save the SAP.war file and close Win RAR.
Users can now deploy the SAP.war file using wdeploy or the deploy script
supplied by SAP Netweaver 7.1.

Kapsel Fiori Client (FC): self-built iOS FC shows very slow UI performance

I have used KapselSDK to build our own FC using:
SMP3.0 KapselSDK SP07_PL00
Cordova 3.6.3
Xcode 6.2
OS X 10.10.2 Yosemite
Enterprise distribution certificate for deplyment
.ipa for iPhone4S, 5 (tested)
ipd also inside Airwatch (tested)
App config:
SMP proxy is not used.
The issue:
We use FC to launch the Fiori Launchpad where there are some Fiori apps. The problem is that after type usr pwd, it took very long time to see the Launchpad UI. Tried the standard FC from Apple Store, and it worked very fast.
Does anyone have any idea? I see some info about the slow UI performance for Android devices which can be solved using crosswalk, but my understanding is that crosswalk is not for iOS.

Have you tired testing the same URL through Mobile Safari to see if it is slow also?
We have had reports of slowness on iOS and we are researching. The details are iOS uses HTTP pipelining when the connection is slow. This means iOS bundles several requests (2-3 to our observations) together but the ICM does only response to one of them and ignores the others. After a timeout of about 1 minute (transparent to the FLP) the Safari automatically repeats the ignored requests. It may happen that this happens a second time, but not a third time – then the requests are not repeated anymore. Seems to happen in Mobile Safari Browser more often than Fiori Client and doesn't happen in Mobile Chrome on same device.

I am not familiar with Afaria besides the fact that its a mobile device management tool. What I want to know is how does does Afaria work with SAP Fiori and what are the pros and cons of deploying SAP Fiori with/on Afaria and do I need Fiori client if I decide to use Afaria?

You could use Afaria to configure Fiori Client - pre-configure Fiori URL, deploy app to device remotely, install certificate in device for authentication in the case of HTTPS.

App MyContacts is crashing in FIORI client 1.2.4

Hello *, I get an issue creating contact persons using FIORI client 1.2.4 within app MyAccounts --> Dropdown menue --> contact persons: "App could not be started due to internal error." In addition maintenance of contacts within tile MyContacts is not possible w/o any comments/notes. The creation of new contacts does not work in this context as well. The system gives no information, too. All the described topics work properly in FIORI by calling the URL via several browsers. Does anyone have experience with this behaviour? Kind regards Thomas

Please add more details of the Android version you are testing with, SAP system details , UI5 version and any error logs if you can find from the Fiori client.
I hope you have maintained the required necessary patches for running the app in fiori client and using UI5 with latest.
Please also have a look at the Troubleshooting guide of Fiori Client 1.2.4 for relevant notes / quick troubleshooting.

SAP Fiori - Who and How?

Hello guys!
Well, i managed to install SAP Fiori Apps on BackEnd and UI Add-Ons on NW GW 2.0 SP08, i've been following most of the guides by myself and i still can't make PO Approval work. As a BASIS should i be doing this by myself? How can i know in Fiori which are BASIS, ABAP or Functional tasks?
    Im pretty new to NW GW and most of my experience as a BASIS comes from ERP Administration and installations.
All answers would be gladly appreciated.

     Right now the issue i am having is that i have no data showing in the PO Aprroval App. I've followed step by step the install guide and steps in help.sap.com regarding UI5, Gateway and Fiori, in fact i've destroyed and reconstructed the configuration several times now but with no avail.
I do know release strategy is configured, although i do not know if workflow option used is 1. I get to receive the PO in SBWP and it is not approved, it was created by the MM consultant for testing purposes.
Same TaskID used in assign task to scenario is configured here
Using custom workflow so we substituted the standard with this one.
I think RFC are okay since the app launches with no error messages and when i test all url's in /IWFND/GW_CLIENT they all end with status 200 (OK).
    I use latest versión of Google Chrome for the testing on my laptop (Win7 Pro x64), the consumer type for the scenario is DESKTOP, MOBILE and TABLET (or should i need to construct an scenario to each consumer type?).
     Support Package wise i have this:
Gateway Server (Central Hub):
All SAP UI add-on's (UI2 and UI5) are on SP07.
GW_CORE and IW_BEP are on SP08.
UIAPP002 is SP03.
UIX01CA1 is SP00.
BackEnd Server:
IW_PGW is SP05.
IW_BEP is SP08.
GBAPP002 is SP03.
Both servers are based on NW 7.31 and have Kernel 721 EXT_UC x64 level 100.
    Whether i use the app url with or without the ?sap-client=<client> part, the result is the same, no data shows.
     As i said we are using a custom workflow, but besides that for everything else configuration is standard by the guides.

Fiori Client - availability of unsigned IPA file

Is it possible to obtain the unsigned IPA file for the Fiori Client iOS app so that we can for example wrap it with Mocana?
Currently the Fiori Client seems to be only available via App Stores, not via download from SAP Service Marketplace?

I am not an expert in this matter, but i think i can share some info.
SAP Fiori uses a very different development approach using SAPUI5 (HTML5/Javascript/CSS etc).
I really don't know if there is a way to migrate WDA with your intent, it seems more like a redesign of your applications using the SAPUI5 resources, which can result in a reasonable amount of effort, depending on your WD applications quantity, complexity, size and other several factors.
It has to be sized very carefully, and the new designs must be based on a solid software modelling that suits and leverages the advantages of the SAPUI5 framework.
There is much content to venture into, you can search for SAPUI5 tutorials/info, or add it with Fiori.

Https call from SAP SOAP client tool

Hi,
in order to call a webservice via https using the SAP SOAP client tool, I've done the following:
1. The Client cert field filled with my personal certificate from IE (pcert.pfx)
2. The Trust store field left as it was (cacerts file of the jre).
When calling the service I am getting
javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: No trusted certificate found
Very likely this is caused by setting 2.
Could anybody advise how to get an X.509 certificate of trusted root CAs? Any chance to export from IE or would one have to get that from a CA? File types required are ppfx or p12, which is strange since these contain private keys.

Hi Rene,
You need to include the full certificate chain in the p12 file. i.e. private cert and root CA cert. IE will not export the full certificate path with the private certificate unless it was imported into IE with this flag set. You could use Firefox to generate the pks12 file. It will include the full certificate path.
This private certificate (p12 file) should then be added to the truststore in XI.
Also, .p12 (pkcs#12) file format defines a file format commonly used to store private keys with accompanying public key certificates - not just private keys.
