What is the difference between both SAP FIORI vs UI5?

Use the SAP Fiori Client

Dear Community,
I have been creating simple apps using SAPUI5. Especially the sap.m library is very useful in creating applications on mobile apps. Recently I came across the SAP Fiori Client:

This seams like a nice gadget for getting a better performance out of web application. However, I am not able to get something running in this client. All I get is a white screen. I do the following:
1.) Create a new app or download a Fiori app via se38->/UI5/UI5_REPOSITORY_LOAD and make some changes in eclipse
2.) Upload the app to our NW gateway using the team provider
3.) Use runs as->Run on ABAP server
4.) Grep the URL and paste it in the settings of the Fiori Client on my Iphone.
As mentioned before I only get a white screen in the client. If I open the URL directly in the browser of Iphone everythings is fine. Is there something I have to add to my app in order to get it running in the sap fiori client? In the documentation of the client I have not found any hints.
Perhaps anybody can help me out on this one.

thanks for the quick reply. I was using the URL for a specific Fiori app, created when I pressedthe run as->run on ABAP server in eclipse.
So I think your suggestion with the Launchpad is the correct way to go. How do I configure the Fiori Launchpad?
Do you have a reference on this topic? I have found some stuff via google, but I am not sure if this is a good one. (Setup of SAP Fiori Launchpad - SAP Fiori for SAP Business Suite - SAP Library )

SAP Fiori 1.0 in Netweaver 7.4

Hi,
Currently I have a server that running EHP7 for SAP ERP 6.0, would like to install SAP Fiori (25 apps only). I was trying to installing the Fiori Purchase Order 1.0, during installation it have problem when import the GBAPP001 as I think is due to the IW_BEP as earlier NW version is an add-on components but in NW 7.4 is bundled in SAP_GWFND. Therefore suspect it unable to find the correct component path to install.
Would like to check, basically is it advisable to install SAP Fiori Purchase Order in Netweaver 7.4 or it better install the latest SAP Fiori for SAP ERP 1.0 in NW 7.4.

Important Note: Please use new UI with new SAP Fiori Launchpad
New UI components have UI extension points and work with new SAP Fiori Launchpad.
Please find correct components based on your Backend version.

Step 2. Find the roles from App Catalog
SAP Fiori Apps - SAP Library
App Implementation: Approve Purchase Orders - SAP Fiori Apps - SAP Library
Group role is Business Role -> SAP_MM_BCR_Buyer_X1
Catalog role is Technical Role -> SAP_MM_TCR_T_X1
Step 3. Assign the roles to users
If you can not find the Group/Catalog roles on Gateway server, it means you have not installed Fiori app UI components. Please install.

Fiori on SAP BW - Query

Hello Experts,
I understand SAP Fiori uses SAP ECC system for the transactions and analytic apps. As Fiori is based on SAPUI5 framwork, I was thinking if it is possible to design apps in Fiori on SAP BW system (integrate BEx or infoprovider data into Apps)?

Hi Fenil,
Yes only transactional apps are possible without HANA. I did not receive concrete information but it seems it is not possible to use BW as backend.This is probably due to the gateway limitations. Aim of Fiori is not to replace BW reporting tools but to efficiently use data in Transactional systems.

I need to install SAP FIORI in my landscape. I want to know can I install 1) Netweaver gateway 2) Netweaver addon 3) Fiori apps on same ERP server.
Or its recommended to have netweaver system and ERP server separately.

Preparation Implement SAP FIORI

We are planning to implement SAP Fiori for Approve Purchase Orders, Approve Requisitions and Approve Requests. there are several question that I'm looking for
Where i can find configuration connecting ECC, NetWeaver and FIORI.
What skills are required for implementation FIORI? I know currently require skills ABAP and create workflows. Is there needed skills to understand ECC such material master ect, for implementation fiori.

I would recommend going to http://scn.sap.com/community/mobile and reading the What is SAP Fiori UX? page with all of its links. There is a wealth of information there on the whole topic of Fiori.
X1 (aka Wave 1) is the first release of Fiori with 25 apps and a starting point referred to as Launchpage.
X2 (aka Wave 2) is the second release. It changed the starting point from Launchpage to Launchpad with some rather major changes in design, configuration, installation, and features.
SAP FIORI FOR SAP ERP is a reference to applications created for use with SAP ERP (as opposed to SAP CRM, SAP SRM, etc.).

SAP Fiori: Version Management for SAP Gateway Enhanced Services & SAP UI5 Application

I would like to check how version control is achieved for SAP Fiori app extensions. Or while enhancing the SAP UI5 applciation or enhancing a SAP netweaver gateway backend service for Fiori App.

For front end SAPUI5 CODE in Elipse or RIVER RDE you can use GIT which is pretty standard way of doing code management. Once you push the code to GW it is in BSP and then you dont have much control on the version management side. If there are multiple developers working on front end code then you can push to GW using ABAP Team Provider plugin in Eclipse that pushes the sapui5 code to BSP via workbench request and once 1 developer is done then he/she will submit the code. the next person then does the GET from GW into their Eclipse to get the latest version of source code. But if there are 10 changes to the sapui5 code then on front end side you should use GIT or BitBucket or MS Team Share kind of source code control tools that integrate with ECLIPSE.
For oData Service you can do version management in ABAP stacks. you can have multiple versions for your service and then deploy to prod the one that you are sure of. Std change management can be used for backend GW service development.

SAP Fiori - Who and How?

Hello guys!
Well, i managed to install SAP Fiori Apps on BackEnd and UI Add-Ons on NW GW 2.0 SP08, i've been following most of the guides by myself and i still can't make PO Approval work. As a BASIS should i be doing this by myself? How can i know in Fiori which are BASIS, ABAP or Functional tasks?
    Im pretty new to NW GW and most of my experience as a BASIS comes from ERP Administration and installations.
All answers would be gladly appreciated.

     Right now the issue i am having is that i have no data showing in the PO Aprroval App. I've followed step by step the install guide and steps in help.sap.com regarding UI5, Gateway and Fiori, in fact i've destroyed and reconstructed the configuration several times now but with no avail.
I do know release strategy is configured, although i do not know if workflow option used is 1. I get to receive the PO in SBWP and it is not approved, it was created by the MM consultant for testing purposes.
Same TaskID used in assign task to scenario is configured here
Using custom workflow so we substituted the standard with this one.
I think RFC are okay since the app launches with no error messages and when i test all url's in /IWFND/GW_CLIENT they all end with status 200 (OK).
    I use latest versión of Google Chrome for the testing on my laptop (Win7 Pro x64), the consumer type for the scenario is DESKTOP, MOBILE and TABLET (or should i need to construct an scenario to each consumer type?).
     Support Package wise i have this:
Gateway Server (Central Hub):
All SAP UI add-on's (UI2 and UI5) are on SP07.
GW_CORE and IW_BEP are on SP08.
UIAPP002 is SP03.
UIX01CA1 is SP00.
BackEnd Server:
IW_PGW is SP05.
IW_BEP is SP08.
GBAPP002 is SP03.
Both servers are based on NW 7.31 and have Kernel 721 EXT_UC x64 level 100.
    Whether i use the app url with or without the ?sap-client=<client> part, the result is the same, no data shows.
     As i said we are using a custom workflow, but besides that for everything else configuration is standard by the guides.

SAP Fiori launchpad caching

Hi,
I've created a custom theme for the SAP Fiori launchpad and I'm running into caching issues. I've tried a number of ways to clear the cache, but the changes are not visible for users I've logged in with before making the changes. When I create a fresh copy of the same user and login I do see the changes.
I've already tried the following things to clear the cache, without luck:
- Clear the browser cache
- Clear the server cache in SMICM, both locally and globally
- Clear the cache in /UI5/THEME_TOOL
- Clear the cache with /IWFND/CACHE_CLEANUP
- Clear the cache with /IWBEP/CACHE_CLEANUP
- Clear the cache with /UI2/CHIP_SYNCHRONIZE_CACHE
Does anyone know the secret to succesfully clearing the theme cache? Some of these steps above in a particular order or do I need to do something else?
We are on UI5 1.24.4 and theme designer 1.6.2 with all the latest notes implemented.

Hi Robert,
I'm happy to do as you suggest, but I have found no way to delete that entry. Change mode in that screen does not allow the deletion. There is a button with a trash can icon, but it does a “Reset values” and not a removal.
Please suggest how to proceed?

How to add two services in a single application in SAP FIORI

Hi Experts,
            I am working on SAP FIORI and created a starter application project using oData services. Initially i am adding one service from catalog and i want that service details ie., Business Partners to be displayed in my master view. Till this I am able to see the data in my master view.
        Now i would like to add one more service with which i should be able to see the item details of each and every BP.
But i dont know where to add this second service and how..?
Can anybody help me in solving this issue??

         My problem is fixed, they are calcualted if you have a child nodes. How means Revenue is positive and Expenses are negative. So we get difference of this two.

Getting an Error while trying to Approve Requisition in SAP Fiori PR Approval App

Hi Experts,
We have followed all the instructions given in the installation/configuration of SAP Fiori PR APPROVAL APP. While approving the PR from Lunchpad we are getting the following error.
ERROR :"RFC Error : Internal program error; (SAPMSSY1 ZCL_IM_ME_PROCESS_REQ_CTSD====CP 1 CBRC_EXIT_47_PURREQ)"
2) I have put a debugger in the USER_EXIT : "CBRC_EXIT_47_PURREQ" and checked that the value of SY_UCOM is initial and when i store the value "MESAVE" and run through debugging i am able to approve the PR. I want to get rid of this Debugging mode and run the PR APP from Launchpad properly without error.

Kindly help me with the same.
