SAP Front-End Patch cannot be applied error

I have SAP GUI 7.2 patch level 4 installed on my machine and I am adobe life cycle designer. I got this error when I tried to install
"This SAP Front-End Patch cannot be applied. Either the installed components are already on the same patch level or the components to be patched are not yet installed at all.

How do I install the adobe LifeCycle designer?

Please try uninstalling and reinstalling the GUI
a) Remove all SAP components via "Control panel", this is very
important
b) Install SAP GUI
c) Install latest GUI Patch

SAP Software Distribution Center -> Download -> Support Packages and

I suppose you reinstalled the same OS.
Did you install the JSDK (java) afterwards. As you must be aware Java is a pre-requisite for the SAP Frontend.
Also make sure you have set the environment variables after installing java.
Further documentation, the SAP installation manual can be found in the u201CDOCUu201D folder of the installation software.

i have downloaded trhe exe file but do not know how to apply it.

u can close all the SAP Sessions even logon pad and execute the exe file...
say continue.... it will execute automatically
after that u can see the patch version in open logoon pad--> click on about sap logon... here u can see the patch level

When installing SAP front end, i am receiving following file missing error, please assist:

I would not care about those files, because they are unneccessary. mscreate.dir is a 0 byte file which just tells that microsoft has created this directory. The *.gid files are winhelp files that get created when you first use the help function.

Der LSH User kann auf die Freigabe zugreifen. Hab mal in den Eigenschaften des Dienstes geschaut, dort ist ein falscher Pfad zu der Datei drin dieser lautet *"
Server-NameFreigabenameSetupISNwSapSetupIs.exe"*. Das Verzeichnis IS gibts auf dem Server nicht. Wozu brauch ich diesen Dienst und wie kann ich das Problem beheben?
Patch 10 kann ich leider nicht installieren da ich leider keine Kennung zum herunterladen habe.

The LSH User has access on the Share. I have see that in the properties of the Service following Path is: "

Patch 10 i cannot install because i have no login in the marktplace.
2 Problem: Another Problem after installation SAP GUI with SAP Installation Server is that the after reboot PC the user lose all domain rights on the PC. I can resolve the Problem with the Program "gpupdate /force" (domain programm). At the next reboot the user have no domain rights. This problem repeats 3 times.
Both problems are urgent!

I have to install SAP front end on 600 PCs. How can I automate it instead of installing it physically? Is there any way of using Solution Manager. Please be informed it is a global implementation as well.

Good morning, Nabi - There are two possibilities, depending on your existing infrastructure. The first option is provided by SAP. You can install what is known as a SAPGui Installation Server. You then apply patches and configure installation packages on this server. It also has a distribution mechanism in the form of an Installation Service and a Distribution Service. These are useful because they can allow non-administrators to still update the SAPGui on a desktop. You can then create a log-on script on the PC to check to see if the SAPGui is installed, and if so if it is up to date. If it is not, the software will be installed/patched. This is an option if you do not have any other software distribution tools in your enterprise.
The option that we use is to utilize Microsoft System Management Server (now being replaced/renamed to System Center Configuration Manager 2007) to launch the setup command line on each PC. This provides more control for the distribution and you can then also do more reporting on the PCs that have the package installed.

Front-end functions cannot be executed in the background in SM37

I have developed a BDC program for Tcode HRUSER . The program is working fine in Frontend but when Executed in Background through SM37 gives a error -:
"Front-end functions cannot be executed in the background".
I am not using any function like GUI_DOWNLOAD or anything like that .

No , the program is not taking any inputs from the user .
when i am executing the program in background mode it is just showing the messages at the end which i am writing in the program for eg:
"creating a user for employee 2306328".
So , only the list of messages comes at the end .

Front-End Patch

Dear Gurus, what's the best way to know what current front-end patch is being used here at the client's site. In Query Designer, if I click on About, ti just gives the version of SAP NetWeaver.

Are we talking about the BW Addon For SAPGUI FEP?
There are couple of way:
- BW 3.5 Addon for SAPGUI (6.40) FEP 13 is most current
- BW 3.5 Addon for SAPGUI 7.10 FEP 2 is most recent (For site running BEx 3.5 with a 7.0 BW.
- BI 7.0 Addon FEP - not using it just yet, not dure what the most current version is - it has some different numbering arrangement
1) If you are running 3.x and using the Bex Browser, the splash scrren on startup (think you also bring this screen up from one of the Menu options too) should have the BW FEP e.g. 3500.7. (plus some othe nbrs) is BW 3.5 Addon FEP 7
2) In the BEx Analyzer in 3.x (didn't see it in BI 7.0) one of the options somewhere under the Business Explorer Menu is an option called Installation Check. This opens the sapbexc.xla, which should open a workbook that has a button (not sure what it's called, something like Run Check) - press the button and it collects teh version info of all the BEx front end components and tells you if they are curent, missing, old.
In 3.5 for SAP Gui 7.10, you need to llok for something like sapbex350710c.xla.
There's one for 7.0, but not sure what it's called, try a search for *c.xla.
I think checking the logon pad provides teh SAPGUI FEP version info, no tteh BW Addon FEP. A frequent area of confusion as SAP doesn't do a good job explaining these items.

Hi Anand i dont know which sap version u are using but i think u should sapgui6.4,because may be it will install properly but there always will be some problem u have to face. so just download the Sap Gui 6.4.

Working in PI with SAP Front end

Thanks for all the links and documents regarding PI. I'm learning PI through SAP Front End. Needed to know if there is a possibility that I write my own Java code and then convert them to web services or enterprise services. is this possible using SAP front end? or PI? Should I be using CE to do the coding and conversion to web services or PI is enough

You require a NWDS for coding and deploying the same into Web AS JAVA engine.
The architecture of WAS should support if you have to expose your java service as a webservice.
You might need to implement certain Web AS webservice API so that it will expose that java service as webservice.

Hi Gururaj,
First check if you have a "Apply Patch" in the SAP folder of the start menu. If so you can use the ".car" file and apply the patch.
In case you dont find it then you can download the patch as a ".exe" from http://service.sap.com/swdc. Execute the ".exe" and install the patch.

OBIEE 11g Front End Calculations with Presentation Variables Error

Hi Guru's,
Long time user first time poster to the forums but hopefully you can help.
I have a requirement to perform an aggregation on certain fields with a dynamic grouping requirement (so users can select which grouping they require ie, sum profit by [outlets or companies or region]).
The approach I am using is a prompt setting a presentation variable with the possible groupings for the calculation as choices, and a column in the report with a formula to SUM("table"."column" by "@{variable}{default}") this also contains a dynamic column name containing the presentation variable too.
Where the column could be profit and the variable prompt options could be outlet, company or region (from the above example).
This is currently separate from the RPD due to the dynamic nature required with groupings changing at run time and is done in the front end.
However on selecting some columns via the prompt I receive this error:
Error Codes: OPR4ONWY:U9IM8TAC:OI2DL65P
State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 43113] Message returned from OBIS. [nQSError: 22027] Union of non-compatible types. (HY000)
This only occurs on some field groupings, and is not a certain type in particular. (Including both short date, short time and varchars).
Any ideas where this problem could stem from?
