  • ERROR MESSAGE sap system manager:work process restarted, session terminated

    Hi,
    i am a beginer in SAP administration, users are getting this error message and i have done all my research and not able to resolve this issue. Here are the details
    SAP Version :ideas 4.7
    Database :Oracle
    OS : windows 2003
    Module user is working on MM
    user working on it is a Super user with all the permissions
    SAP is configure to run under the  European date and decimal format.
    I have never done any database administration on it, it is a new install and has been rarely used.
    User creates a RFQ and when he tries saving it , seems like for the first time after either restarting the macine or restarting the service it might work and at time it might not, this is a very sporadic error and most of the times it crashes out with the message "sap system manager:work process restarted, session terminated" and kicks the user out of the session.
    Below are the details of the error message from ST22 :
    name of the runtime error : system_core_dumped
    below are the details of the error message and its resoltion as suggested by sap help :

    What happened?
    The current ABAP program had to be terminated because the
    ABAP processor detected an internal system error.
    The current ABAP program "SAPLCLSC" had to be terminated because the ABAP
    processor discovered an invalid system state.
    What can you do?

    An SAP System process was terminated by an operating system signal.
                                                                                    Possible reasons for this are:
    1. Internal SAP System error.

    Your Oracle version is unsupported and contains serious bugs.
    Read the installation guide, it tells you to
    - install the Oracle software delivered on the DVD (10.2.0.1)
    - install the latest patchset
    - install the latest interim patches
    and then start the installation.
    Download now the patches for 10.2.0.4 and the interim patches and install them.

  • Does SAP support open tender process for Vendor selection

    Hi all,
    Does SAP Support Open tendering process for Vendor Selection.
    I men in my clients scenario. For vendor selection process for any material starts with advertisement of tender  in newspaper. Vendor replies back with his quotation. After receiving technical and commercial quotation, the organization go for technical bidding and those who qualify in technical bidding they contest for commercial bidding. After commercial bidding, comparative statement is prepared and then purchase committee approves the vendor. The problem is that any no. of vendors from any where can give their reply to the tender as it is a government organization. So, how to map this process in SAP as we are not directly sending RFQ to the vendor, instead he reply back with quotation directly once he sees the advertisement in newspaper.
    I want you all to suggest me whether to keep this process in SAP or out of SAP. waiting for your response.
    Regards,
    Amit

    Hi Ravi,
    Thanks for your response. My problem is that the organization advertise its tender in newspaper of all india circulation and seeing that tender vendor reply back with quotation. They don't identify who all are the vendors to whom RFQ is send. only when reply of vendor comes with quotation client comes to know about the vendors submitting quotation. Normally one vendor is selected for one material and 20 to 25 vendors give their quotation. Is it feasible to bring those 25 vendors in SAP if only one will be selected. Because in any way, for any processing we need to create vendor in SAP. So do we need to create 25 vendors, though we know we require only one finally. Can you please clarify this issue. If you want I can mail you the whole process map.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Amit

  • Intigrating SAP and Non-SAP system for recruitment process

    Hi All,
    Our Client has a requirement which is related to Recruitment.The requirement is that the employee resumes ,photos and credentils are stored in legacy system.The shortlisted resumes sud be transferred into SAP and the hiring process sud be done in SAP.After the hiring process , the status of the applicants sud be triggered in the legacy system and not in the SAP system.
    Is there any Standard BAPI's for this requirement. Any Workflow is involved in this requirement.
    As a HR Abaper i need to give the complete technical details for this requirement. Pls advice me on this .This is very urjent.
    Points will be awarded.
    Many Thanks,
    Chakradhar Maddina

    what is this 3rd party application?
    if anyways they are using SAP for masterdata, why dont they use the same for applicant data?
    ok for whatever the reason they have decided that..only way looks like is to do it manually,
    create a bdc/lsmw for the hiring process and let them use it regularly for hiring all the selected applicants in a single go.
    as for updating their system with the updated status, again i think they should do it manually.or maybe if their legacy system allows mass data update/chages.
    becoz you do the creation of BDC/LSMW only once not everytime you want to hire.. i think its an easir process. also wait for other experts to give their feed back you may get some valuable info.
    hope it helps

  • SAP AII for production process

    Hello,
    I'm an ABAP programmer but I have to find some information (integration scenario example) about using RFID for managing a production process with SAP.
    I found only for SCM:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_autoid40/helpdata/en/43/ec3b1c601f6bf1e10000000a11466f/content.htm
    Is it posible to manage a production process with SAP's  AII <-> XI <-> ERP like it can be done for SCM?
    Thanks.
    Traian

    Hi Mustata,
       Yes it is very much possible to RFID enable the SAP R/3 Production process.
       AII 4.0 supported out of the box execution of Outbound delivery process and Inbound Delivery process.
       The configuration guide for same are available at this link http://service.sap.com/scm
        you can get the config guide in detailed information of RFID under SCM.
       Now answer to your question SAP AII for production process.
       AII 5.1 supports creation on new document in AII. Also the documents from backend system SAP R/3 sent to AII via XI with the help of standard document interface.
      The documents related to production process can be then executed in AII with the help of RFID and after document execution in AII, if required, the document data can be sent to SAP R/3 for completion of the document in backend system.
    Hope this answers your query. Do read the configuration guides.
    If same process needs to be done in AII 4.0 then customisation will be need to implement the production process integration.
    Thanks and regards,
    Amit Deshpande

  • SAP for chemical industries / process industries - is indian companies are really serious into implementing ? and any recent implementations

    Really want to know leading companies who has implemented or ongoing implementation of SAP erp in chemical / Process / texitles

    Hi Ragu,
    SAP has been implemented in 200+ chemical companies in India. SAP has been implemented in all types of chemical companies - Public sector (like Kribhco), large companies (like Tata chemicals), Mid-size companies (like Galaxy Surfactants). SAP solutions are used in all chemical industry segments (in India) - like in Petrochemicals (Haldia Petrochemicals), Fertilizers (FACT), Paints & Coatings (Asian Paints), Agrochemicals (UPL), Industrial Gases (INOX air products). Hence I can state that Indian Chemicals companies are serious and reaping benefits from SAP implementations.

    Do you have any tips ?

  • Addon is blocked by SAP on long running process...

    Hi experts,
    Any idea what to do when we call a .NET form that takes a long time and SAP just kicks the addon out with 3 choices ?
    I've read some threads that do not give any clue that works.
    I tried starting the form in another thread and this solution is very bad and gives more problem than it solves.
    I tried event created in the WinForm wired on SAP side which is rised by a timer in the WinForm at interval of 30 seconds to update the main form and send a message in the StatusBar but no result.  After aproximatively 10 minutes, SAP just give a message that the addon was blocked and gives 3 choices.
    Since the addon is very well protected and can't crash, I don't see the real crash or error but just SAP is giving the 3 choices that's all.
    I'm searching for a solution since 3 weeks now.

    I'm not sure to follow you.
    Actually the complexity of the .NET form is all in place and working fine even working all right with SAP excep I can't stay too long in it.  if I stay let say over 10 minutes in the .NET form SAP kill the addon.  Now if I stay less then 10 minutes, well everything works like a charm that means the .NET form is closing and the process that puts the line in the Sales Order takes place and all goes well.
    The only problem is to make something on the SAP side to make sure a .NET form can stay opened as long as necessary.
    Here's how I'm calling the .NET form :
    ConfiguratorWinForm = new frmConfigurator(int.Parse(_DocNum), _KitSeq, _Handler, ActualRow, CurrentKit.Name, CurrentKit.Data, _PriceAndDiscountQuery, _CardCode);
    ConfiguratorWinForm.UpAndRunningEvent += (s, ee) => { ShowProgressBar(false, 0, "", ""); };
    ConfiguratorWinForm.AreYouAliveEvent += (s, ee) =>
            try
                SAPbouiCOM.Form oForm = SBO_Application.Forms.GetForm("169", 1);
                if (oForm != null)
                    oForm.Update();
                if(SBO_Application.StatusBar != null)
                    SBO_Application.StatusBar.SetText("Configurateur en processus...", BoMessageTime.bmt_Short, BoStatusBarMessageType.smt_Success);
            catch { }
    ConfiguratorWinForm.btAccept.Click += (s, ee) => { IsAccepted = true; };
    AddingKit = true;
    // WindowAPI is jsut a handle to the GetForegroundWindow to make sure the .NET form pops in front of SAP and this works fine
    ConfiguratorWinForm.ShowDialog(new CommonFramework.CustomClasses.API.WindowAPI());
    ConfiguratorWinForm.SetWaitCursor();
    ConfiguratorWinForm.Configurator.FocusedRow = ConfiguratorWinForm.Configurator.Rows[0];
    CurrentSAPForm.Freeze(false);
    if (ConfiguratorWinForm != null)
        ConfiguratorWinForm.Close();

  • SAP BI 7 - Background process performance Issue

    This question is about efficiency of dialog process compared to inefficiency of the background process and I want suggestions from SAP Basis/BI experts on this.
    We have observed that our background processes on BI server are not running as efficiently as we would like them to run.
    For example
    DSO activation:
    When I use Dialog mode for DSO Activation with 3 parallel processes, I can activate a certain DSO with in 15 seconds. But the same DSO and the same data package when activated using background mode with 3 parallel process takes about 15 minutes.(there are plenty of background processes available on the system when this activation is running). So dialog process runs 60 times faster than background process.
    In BI 7 most of the operations can be executed only in the background parallel mode. And from the activation example we know that our background processes are not as efficient as dialog processes. It
    is understood that in general the background processes will not be as efficient as dialog processes, but in our case the difference is a factor of 60. We want help to identify, why the background processes are not as efficient as dialog processes. What SAP Basis settings need to be changed to make them as efficient as we can. Any suggestion or help will be highly appreciated.

    Hello Eswaran
    Generally a dialog process is not faster by any means than a background workprocess. Nevertheless i trust you on your observations, so there must be some difference. I just did a small test, i ran SE16 chose a big table and selected 10000 rows, i did 3 tries in dialog and 3 in background. The results:
    dialog: 10.2s, 9.4s, 9.6s
    background: 26s, 24s, 24s
    So even in my simple example the background execution took more time. The issue here is, that the resulting output (which is pretty large) had to be saved additionally in a spool (a total of 167 pages) when executed in background. The selection of the data certainly did not take more time in either case.
    The most important difference between dialog and batch processes is the memory management. Dialog processes work with a shared memory segment (extended memory). Background processes have their private heap memory.
    Nevertheless, background processes are not "slower" in general, not at all. You will need to observe closer, what your processes are doing. Maybe watching SM50 while running the DSO activation is enough to see it, maybe you need to trace a process. If you see large spools generated, or huge amounts of memory consumed, we might already have an answer.

    Michael
