SAP Gateway for Microsoft excel
Hi ,
I want to create Purchase order data from excel . I have PO header and Item as entity in gateway services . I have associated POHeader with PO Items and declared navigation in SEGW. I have implemented method CREATE_DEEP_ENTITY.
While binding the gateway services, it just bind the header fields and i don't have provision to pass on the item fields . My requirement is to bind PO Header and Items together in excel and call the create_deep_entity method so that PO with item is created together in single payload.
In my case i am able to bind either header or Item data and it search for create_entity method and throw error.
Does excel support Deep Insert ? Can we create Hierarchical data using GWPAM excel.

Hi Florian,
it is up to you: the Gateway for Microsoft Excel add-in does support both $batch and the single updates. If the underlying OData service supports $batch then this will certainly boost performance if you do mass update operations.
... and you are right: GWM keeps track on the records which have been changed (updated, deleted or created)

we are investigating the connection possibilities of SharePoint 2013 with SAP.
The basic scenario in our cases involves the transfer of documents and/or metadata from SharePoint to SAP possibly through a Workflow in SharePoint.
From my research the most promising official (no 3d-party) interfaces that can be used are the Duet Enterprise 2.0 and the SAP Gateway for Microsoft.
From my understanding both interfaces allow only the consumption of Data from SAP to SharePoint and not vice versa. Moreover the interoperability of documents seems not be supported. Are CRUD operations from a SharePoint native lists to SAP supported?
Can someone please clarify this topics?
I have found lots of documentation concerning the interfaces but not a clear answer to this questions.

It seems that there is no built in method to get data from SharePoint list in SAP.
As a workaround, we can export SharePoint list to excel and then use that spread sheet as a source data in SAP.

SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization, Demand Planning Add-In for Microsoft Excel 1.0
Does anyone know if the DP Add-in for Microsoft Excel is doing well. How does it pull/push data on the DP tool? Is it fast, and is it a free add-in ?

As you know business always loves to work in excel and if we offer this possibility they are going to appreciate it very much.
We have already perform PoC for the excel frontend in out business scenario and looks really positive. At the same time, I will also say that there is still big room for improvement for SAP. SAP is already coming with better excel front end but only with IBM demand solution.
so going back to our topic, I would say surely you should go for it. It would be really great if you have data view with less or minimum key figures should be exported to excel where business require to update or maintain key figures. If I am correct, I think you are unable to use it for aggregate forecasting or you have default macro´s to be execute immediately.
In summary, it´s worth to explore the option to see if it works for your business. I am sure business users will be very much happy with this.

Not able to download S&OP Add-In for Microsoft Excel

I have been trying to download the S&OP Add-In for Microsoft Excel but its not just getting downloaded. I am not able to see the S&OP in the excel ribbon. Any help would be appreciated. Let know if any info is needed from my end.

2) As there are new Add-on's several times a year, you should efford to check with your administrators that you get the required authorizations, or that they provide always the latest version to you with other means, e.g. by putting the file in the company - internal "shopping-basket"
3) When installing was successfully, but you dont get it displayed, than go to Excel (I have Excel 10, so the path might be slightly different for you)
--> ribbon "file"
--> "Option"
==> you get a new window, here:
On the left choose "Add-Ins"
--> than on the right side bottom-left you will find "Manage"
--> choose "COM-Add-Ins" and press "Go..."
==> you get a new little window popped up. Here your "S&OP Add-In for Excel" should appear and flagged :
If that does not appear, you installatoin was not successful and you have to repeat

Advance Analysis is only for micorsoft excel. You can check with your contact at SAP (TQM / Sales Representative) to check other solutions to have analysis on Web.
For the Analysis Office the only way to have informations at the web is like described at the latest reply.

My7 computer is running Windows 7, I have the Base installation of LabVIEW, and have Microsoft Office 2007 installed.
I have downloaded the Add-In for Microsoft Excel from:

unzipped it successfully (66 files created)
searched for messages and updates (No notifications.)
and I get a screen reading:

Does anyone have a suggestion why I am unable to go any further?

Go to Solution.Are you sure it hasn't been installed before? Under Control Panel...Programs and Features...National Instruments Software...do a "Change/Remove" and look down the list for "NI TDM Excel Add-In verX.XX". If found, uninstall and re-run the installer for the newest version.

Advanced Analysis for Microsoft Excel - Addin Component does not Appear
Hy at all, i have this problem:
i save a workbook on infoview and when i open it , the Addin Advanced Analysis for Microsoft Excel doesn't appear.
This scenario occurs despite the value "3" on registry of this setting: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Excel\Addins\SBOP.AdvancedAnalysis.Addin.1.

Mix of SAP Gateway and non SAP Gateway for Integration with SAP
Hello,
I am looking for a document on where SAP NW Gateway fits in as part of an integration overall strategy. So, for example, my understanding it is primarily for Mobile app integration. I hear some customers talking about using Gateway for what we normally think of as EAI core integration. So, it does not seem right to me in many typical SAP integration requirements would be handled via Gateway. Other traditional SAP integrations via PI or another ESB leveraging enterprise services, SAP API like BAPIs and IDOCS would be more appropriate in many non-mobile type situations.
Does anyone have general guidance on the above integration advice, thxA good discussion..If I can add few things
1) PI REST Adapter is planned, should be available sometime in near future..
I do not think every integration scenario should be handled in Gateway (rather oData style) just because it can or it might work thinking. Doing it odata style means you need to re-write all functionalities as Web Based Services (eSOA anyone??)
2) Gateway (oData Services) - should be used in User to System scenario ( mobile, browser light weight type) , where you would want to transfer minimal data to the user and back
3) PI - System to System as you mentioned. e.g. Master Data/Customer Synchronization between ecc & crm etc. Doing them in oData style seems like overkill to me when you can use the IDOCs/ALEs and you do not need the data to be transferred over HTTP.
Both Gateway and PI are targeted for different scenarios and have their own place, and as such the right product should be evaluated carefully for each scenario.
Just my two cents.

Printing for Microsoft Excell on HP Pro 8620
Just installed my new Printer (HP pro 8620) and everytime I go to print anything using microsoft excell,it starts to print and then quickly says "Caneling Printing"on the screen of my Printer..Why?

I understand you installed your HP Officejet pro 8620, but you cannot print from Microsoft Excell, and I am happy to help you with this printing issue!
There could be a number of reasons why it will not print. But I am sure we can figure it out!
For further assistance, I will need to know the following:
If you are using a Windows or Mac Operating System, and the version number. To find the exact version, visit this link. Whatsmyos.
If the printer is able to make copies.
If the printer is connected, Wireless, Ethernet, or USB.
If the power cable is plugged into a surge protector, or directly to the wall outlet. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.
In the meantime, please take a look through this guide. Print Jobs are Stuck in the Print Queue.

I need a "hide" script for Microsoft Excel
Hi. I just "upgraded" everything, new Intel based Macbook Pro, and Office 2008 for Macs. Why did I upgrade? Good question! Anyways, when I used Office 2004 for macs, I used a macro to hide several rows so that I could view information in a condensed format. then, I would unhide, and have the entire spreadsheet once again.
I am new to applescript, and have been trying to absorb as much as I can. So far, I wrote a script that can select and range, and fill in a color.
Anyways, I need a script that can hide several rows (ranges?) in a spreadsheet, and then a script to unhide them again.

Is there a way to connect to Advance Analysis as a data source to the Excel worksheet in Dashboard?
I am a beginner user for SAP Dashboard. Currently I run a mtd, and ytd report through Analysis and then copy and paste the information to Dashboard. Is there a way to automate this process?

TrishAs Josh said, Its not possible to do that, there are many ways to can take the BW Query to dashboards, which makes your life simple in integrating reports into the dashboards.
You can use the below methods to intergrate.
1. Query Browser.
2. SAP BW netweaver Connections.
3. BW query --> BICS(Connections) --> webi -- > QWAAS(Connections)
4. BW query --> BICS(Connections) --> webi -- > Live Office(Connections).

I have a modeling class that requires the use of Excel. I have Microsoft Office 2008 installed. The class requires the use of the Analysis ToolPak. Where do I find that in Excel or do I need to download it?

Sap business one studio 9.0 for microsoft visual studio 2010
Hi Experts,
After added a new project, Sap business one 9.0 Add-on Project, that project can't be loaded in Visual Studio 2010.
When try to re-load the project in the Solution Explorer, the project stays as (unavailable), and the next line says, The project file was unloaded.
I'm using :
- Windows 7 professionnel 64 bits. (With no virtual machine)
- Sap business one studio for Microsoft studio 32 bits. (Visual Studio 2010)
- Sap business one studio 32 bits. (PL12)
I've already tried to :
- Reload the project in the contextual menu.
- Run Visual Studio as Administrator.
So VisualStudio, B1, DI-API and SBO Studio are all on the same version. (32 bits)
[I've installed before B1 64 bits, but it did't work with visual studio 2010, because visual studio 2010 is available just in 32 bit version. so i uninstalled everything]
NB : I'm still in evaluation period of SAP Businness one 9.0.
Can u please help me to solve this problem.
