SAP GRC AC 10 - Unintentional line break inserted into custom notification email

Hello
We are having a strange cosmetic issue with one of our custom notification templates. When the notification is sent two sentences in different parts of the email are being cut off and sent to the next line. We tried to review in Word to see if there were any hidden breaks or margins. We also tried to manually type in the information as well as paste into notepad then back into SE61. We cannot seem to figure out where these breaks are coming from. I've included a few screen shots below. Any help is appreciated!
SE61 DOCUMENT TEXT
EMAIL NOTIFICATION TEXT
NOTE: The sentence breaks after training in the sentence beginning with "For additional information about GRC..." and "(This email was generated by an automated..."

Hi Stacey
From the screen shot you cannot see any issues (can understand confusion)
Are you able to try to remove the paragraph and save. Exit SE61 completely to free up any buffer and then go back in and re-add it?
Possibly look in other SCN communities as it's SE61
Regards
Colleen

  • Why Rich Text (HTML Only) format email introduces line breaks (paragraph marks) in the email body in html?

    A sentence in rich text (change in Options, Delivery format) appears as a single sentence in browser. But when I check the page source I see that sentence has been broken in to multiple lines. Why is this done? Isn't this a bug?
    When viewed in a browser or application that supports rich text this does not create any problem since the line breaks are not taken into account . But I am trying to extract the text from this html and display in a nonHTML application like notepad.
    Is this done on purpose?
    For eg.
    In browser - Honesty is the best policy
    In View HTML Source -
    Honesty
    Is the
    best
    policy.

    lets start at the beginning.
    There is no such thing as rich text email, unless it in internal corporate stuff like MS Exchange, Lotus notes etc. EMail on the internet is HTML or Plain Text.
    I have no options > delivery format in my settings. Is this something to do with Outlook perhaps?
    Then there is your image. All those MSO objects. They stand for Microsoft Office Objects and indicate the source of the HTML as being Outlook or at least Microsoft Office. All in all I think your asking about Microsoft actions on a Mozilla forum.

  • R12 - Approach to Insert into custom table after payment is done

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to insert into a custom table after invoice payment in R12. Code units are already in place to load data from ap tables to custom one.
    I have identified 2 ways in which this can be done:
    1. Call from the business event oracle.apps.ap.payment
    2. Call after the program 'Send separate remittance advice' completes, again as a business event after the concurrent program completes i.e. to use 'Request Completed' business event.
    My questions are as below:
    1. Is there any other way in which I can write to a custom table after payment is done
    2. How else can after report trigger be fired for SRA in R12 (without customizing the standard SRA java conc pgm)
    3. When exactly business event 'oracle.apps.ap.payment' will be fired? Will it be fired for all payments irrespective of the way payment is done like thru PPR, payment workbench, etc?
    Please share your thoughts on this.
    Thanks,
    Kavipriya

    in our case, we have created a database trigger on IBY_PAY_INSTRUCTIONS_ALL, to insert the requisite data into custom tables whenever the payment status is "Ready for Printing"

  • Scan Lines when inserted into Open Office Doc.

    When I insert a picture into Open Office I see pronounced scan lines, even though the picture is only 3x5 inches on a 27 inch screen.  If I view same image full screen in photoshop or with Bridge I do not see the scan lines.  Have to enlarge photo considerably to see them.
    I uploaded the picture to this note and no scan lines were visible.  I deleted it as it shows nothing.
    So question is does anyone know if Open Office does something to the picture when inserted?

    The pixelate filter stills leaves some of the lines, so you might try some gaussian blur (just enough to get rid of the lines) and then some smart sharpen set to gaussian blur with a radius equal to or less
    than the gaussian blur amount to compensate for the blurring.

  • Drop shadow on eps shape produces fine line when inserted into InDesign and PDF created.

    Hi I am having a few issues with an eps file that I have created. Basically it is a eps file with shapes, a gradient and a drop shadow on the outlined text - created in illustrator.
    All looks fine until I take it into Indesign and create a pdf. I then get a line around where the drop shadow is. Zooming in doesn’t make it go away, but it also does not change its size.
    I have done some research and tried one fix (have the drop shadow as another object using multiply as the opacity) this did not work.
    Anything else talks of spot colours (there are none) or just having view ok on the screen (take off smoothing). But none of these are fixes for when I send this image to my client. I also tried saving as different pdf formats but this also does not work.
    The only way I can make it go away is to save the file as an illustrator ai file and use that for pdfs. This would be OK, but other suppliers need to use the file and want eps format.
    From what I have read, it seems to be a screen artefact and so theoretically should not appear when printed. But I do not know this for sure and I hesitate to send it to the client as it is.
    Has anyone seen this before? And are there any fixes (e.g.: treating the drop shadow differently)?
    Thanking you in advance.
    Cheers
    Nikola

    EPS is simply unsuitable when dealing with transparency (which is what your drop shadow is). So you need to work with AI for placing in InDesign. If other suppliers need EPS, then just send them that. Nothing should keep you from exporting another file format.

  • Gmail Exchange - line break issues

    When using Exchange for push Gmail on my iPhone 4, I've noticed that any emails I sent have odd line breaks inserted into them. As I'm using the iPhone for work, any emails I send are rendered almost unintelligible. This is particularly bad as I am a professional writer. When using POP to access Gmail the text appears absolutely fine.
    How can I ensure that my emails stay in their original format and don't have line breaks inserted where I don't want them? If this is possible with POP, surely it should be possible with Exchange. Any ideas?

    The problem arises because the iPhone uses "Plain Text" to send emails.
    When using gmail, gmail automatically inserts breaks in "Plain Text" emails every 78 characters, the reason why you see the breaks when unexpected.
    See: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/gmail/thread?tid=4d1cecc1aab102ef&hl=en
    To fix this problem:
    1. Apple can allow us to send mail with Rich Text support from iOS devices OR
    2. Google has to change the line breaks setting so that Plain text flows (and isn't broken) <-- this option is probably more realistic
    I have tried from a hotmail account, sending email as plain text doesn't have line breaks imposed like the gmail account, but rather "flows".
    If you want gmail to add a setting to disable line breaks in plain text emails:

  • How to put line break in the text

    Hi guys,
    This is a simple problem.i don't know how to concat a line break while creating a text.
    I am looping through the results of a query and want to form the text using the results.
    For each row of the resultset,I want to create a new line in the text i create.
    I was wondering how to put a new line in the text.
    I thought I can concat '\n' ,but it does not work.
    the code snippet in the procedure is :
    for c1_rec in c1 loop
    vMsg := ' There are ' || c1_rec.total ||
         ' documents of type ' || c1_rec.doc_type || '\n' ;
    end loop;
    Please give the solution.
    Thanks in advance.

    Thank you Mark.
    I tried your suggestion.But line break is not working in email.
    Here is how my code is
    in procedure 1 ,i create the message String as :
    for c1_rec in c1 loop
    vMsg := vMsg || ' ' || today_str || ' - ' || c1_rec.total ||
         ' Total inbound documents from : ' || c1_rec.target_value || CHR(13)||CHR10) ;
    dbms_output.put_line(' ' || vMsg);
    end loop;
    --here sending mail calling another procedure
    sendmail( '[email protected]' ,'[email protected]' , 'Test Subject ' , vMsg );
    In Procedure 2( i.e sendmail procedure )
    i am preparing email server connection from and to adresses .Then i am preparing and sending message as
    crlf VARCHAR2( 2 ):= CHR( 13 ) || CHR( 10 );
    conn:= utl_smtp.open_connection( EmailServer, Port );
         utl_smtp.helo( conn, EmailServer );
         utl_smtp.mail( conn, SENDER);
         utl_smtp.rcpt( conn, RECEIVER )
    mesg:= 'Subject: ' || SUBJECT || crlf ||
                   'Date: '||TO_CHAR( SYSDATE, 'Dy, dd Mon yyyy hh24:mi:ss' )||
                   crlf ||
                   'From:'||SENDER|| crlf ||
                   'To: '||RECEIVER || crlf ||
                   'Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1' || crlf ||
                   '' || crlf || MESSAGE ;
         utl_smtp.data( conn, mesg );
         utl_smtp.quit( conn );
    even now the mail we are getting is not having the line break.I am having line break in dbms output,but not in the mail.
    Is there any mistake how I am sending the mail.Or is there any other way we can put line break in the text
    Thank you.

  • SAP GRC AC 5.3 integrated with BW

    Hi all,
    Has anyone of you implemented integration between SAP GRC AC 5.3 and BW and develop custom reports?
    Thanks in advance. Regards,
       Imanol

    Imanol,
    There is documentation available for the integration.  You can find that here:
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/e05a9879-d204-2c10-54a9-ebc94eaddc4e?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true
    Also, there are numerous pre-delivered queries already developed.  However, if you wish to develop your own reports, then you will need a BW resource to do so.

  • Apex Application inserting into two tables from two regions in a page

    Hey Guys,
    Fairly new to apex like two days. So please bare with me. I am using apex 4.0.2.00.07.
    I have a page with two regions. The first region has only one row and I have no problems accessing it and inserting those values into the table this is what I used to access one column from that one row APEX_APPLICATION.G_F03(1)
    The second region is an interactive report, to which I have managed to add a checkbox and a textbox.
    1)So if a checkbox has been checked off the row should be inserted
    2) if the textbox has been entered it should replaceone of the values.
    My question is how to access the second region? I started a loop based on the rows in the collection but that is as far as I got.
    FOR idx IN 1..l_collectionTable_name
    loop
    end loop
    Any help would be greatly appreciated?
    Thank you

  • Inserting into Linked table

    I am writing some code to copy some data from point A (the client's Oracle database) to point B (the client's DB/2 database). I'm trying to determine the least problematic way of dealing with the inserts to a heterogeneously linked table and updates to the source table.
    Working in an ideal world, in one transaction I would insert each row to the linked table and mark the source row as "processed". Each source row produces one target row, and the commit would happen after each row. Will this work and can it be relied upon to commit and/or rollback together, even if the link goes down? My other option, which I've seen done in several pieces of code that we have in our organization, is to perform all actions in local tables, and then at the last minute in a separate transaction, do a bulk copy "insert into tableA select from tableB". Most of these examples are moving data FROM the external table TO our internal database and then processing them.
    So my question is, is it always a good idea to do this bulk copy method, or is it mostly necessary only when you're NOT committing after each row? Or is it dependent on what sort of external database you're linking to? If I'm to add an extra "staging" table, then I also have to deal with deleting the rows after they're inserted in to the linked table, and figuring out how to deal with the possibility that this job might be running twice at the same time. So I'd like to avoid it if I can. But if it's all around safer to use an extra table, I will.
    Thanks for your thoughts!

    Kamal, from the example you gave, the table you're inserting into is named "[email protected]", right? That sounds like an Oracle instance. This apparently works fine Oracle-to-Oracle, but not so much when the other side of the link is a different kind of database. In my case, I'm trying to copy the data to a DB2 table. From the text I've seen, the way the "insert into ... select from ..." works, is the TARGET database has to know how to do the "select from" part, and if it's not an Oracle database, there's no guarantee that it can.
    I've also found that I cannot even have a distributed transaction of any kind (without buying Oracle's Transparent Gateway Services, I think). I've tried committing my updates of my own table and insert into a remote table from within the same transaction, and I get ORA-02047 (cannot join the distributed transaction).
    So it looks like I will be stuck not only copying the rows one by one, but also "crossing my fingers" that my second transaction goes through. Actually, I'm planning something like this:
    1. Do my updates in my local table, including setting the "complete" flag to Yes, and commit.
    2. Do the insert into the remote table, and commit.
    3. If the insert gets an error, change the "complete" flag back to No (so it'll get picked up the next time around), and commit. If THIS step gets an error, I'll log a message indicating that operator intervention is required.
    I'm guessing that 99.999% of the time this will run without a hitch, and I think that's pretty much all I can ask for, without buying Transparent Gateway. Unless someone else here as a better suggestion? I'm all ears...

  • How to insert new line break in XSLT mapping

    Hi experts,
    I am doing file to mail scenario, i am sending the text file as an attachment using reciever mail adapter.
    I did everything, i can able to send the mail with text file attachment, but with in the file i got multiple rows, i need to put line break in XSLT mapping.
    I did use following statement but it is inserting small rectangle between the records, the records are not separating with new lines, all are in one line.
    <xsl:text>*#xA;</xsl:text>
    note: in real coding replace * with &
    Can anyone suggest me how to insert new line in XSLT mapping.
    My XSLT mapping as look like:
    <?xml version='1.0'?>
    <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"
    xmlns:ns0="http://www.Coj.co.za/SapIsuToABSA/DirectDebitFile">
    <xsl:output method="xml" version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" indent="yes"/>
    <xsl:variable name="break">&lt;br/&gt;</xsl:variable>
    <xsl:variable name="space"> </xsl:variable>
    <xsl:variable name="newline"><xsl:text></xsl:text></xsl:variable>
    <xsl:template match="/">
    <ns1:Mail xmlns:ns1="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Mail/30">
    <Subject>Please Check Attached Direct Debit File</Subject>
    <From>S@za</From>
    <To>P@za</To>
    <Content_Type>text/plain</Content_Type>
    <Content>
    <xsl:for-each select="MT_SapIsuToABSA_DirectDebitFile/DirectDebitRec/Body">
    <xsl:value-of select="Space1"/>
    <xsl:value-of select="Cust_AccNo"/>
    <xsl:value-of select="Reserve_1"/>
    <xsl:value-of select="Cust_Name"/>
    <xsl:value-of select="Cust_Name1"/>
    <xsl:value-of select="Cust_Bank_AccNo"/>
    <xsl:value-of select="Space2"/>
    <xsl:value-of select="Cust_Bank_BranchNo"/>
    <xsl:value-of select="Reserve_2"/>
    <xsl:value-of select="Space3"/>
    <xsl:value-of select="Cust_AccNo_1"/>
    <xsl:value-of select="Space4"/>
    <xsl:value-of select="Reserve_3"/>
    <xsl:value-of select="Deduction_Amnt"/>
    <xsl:value-of select="Space5"/>
    <xsl:value-of select="Reserve_4"/>
    <xsl:value-of select="Space6"/>
    <xsl:value-of select="Action_Date"/>
    <xsl:value-of select="Space7"/>
    <xsl:value-of select="Reserve_5"/>
    <xsl:text>*#xA;</xsl:text>
    note: in real coding replace * with &
    </xsl:for-each>
    </Content>
      </ns1:Mail>
      </xsl:template>
      </xsl:stylesheet>
    Kind regards,
    Praveen

    Hi,
    I think <xsl:text>#xa;</xsl:text> should do the trick, but depending on which OS (ux or win), the "new line" chars sequence is different (win would require a CRLF like <xsl:text>#xd;*#xa;</xsl:text>)

  • SAP PI 7.3.1 XML line break within node

    Good Morning All,
    I've an issue with link breaks in XML. Basically, the scenario is IDoc (SAP) to File (XML 3rd Party System).
    I've mapped a text field from the IDoc to the XML node (<comments>) .  The text data comes across with a delimiter !$! to indicate where a line break should occur within the <comment>  node in the XML
    For example the text line comes across in the IDoc as  line 1!$!This is Line 2!$! this one is line 3!$!  and within the xml file I need to the <comment> node to look like  <comment>line 1
                                       This is line 2
                                       this one is line 3</comment>
    We need this for formatting in the 3rd party system. I've tried various replaces etc. but the new line never seems to get recognized.
    Any help with this would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks
    G

    Use OS specific new line character by using System.getProperty("line.separator"):
    Here is complete code:
    UDF with Context option
    Parameters:String var[], ResultList result)
    String temp[] = var[0].split("!$!");
    for(int i = 0; i < temp.length; i++)
         result.addValue(temp[i] + System.getProperty("line.separator"));
    Check it should work, I have not tested...

  • Pressing Enter inserts new line break instead of "executing" command

    I have noticed a rather strange behavior on my new TPT2. This occurs ONLY when I am using the Windows 8 touch keyboard in the "Metro" environment.
    Whenever I press the Enter key on said keyboard (for example when sending an instant message on Skype), the keyboard inserts a new line in the text box instead of acting like a "normal" Enter key and execute the default command (send the message in this example).
    I have connected an external keyboard and this problem does not show up. Everything works as expected. I also brought up the regular on-screen keyboard (launched from the Ease of Access menu) and it works the way it should. The problem is only with the Metro touch keyboard.
    It seems that for some reason, the Metro touch keyboard interprets the Enter key pressing as "insert a line break".
    Does anyone know how to fix this? It is extremely annoying.

    Just checked that, you are right, Photoshop doesn't recognize Shift-Enter as a line break and treat it as a Return which is a problem with paragraph formatting. Obviously a bug.
    Good news workaround is that it recognizes the line break character if you paste it from another program like Microsoft Word. If you don't have a program that allows you to copy just that character and use paste instead of Shift-Return, you have to type your entire text in some other program and copy paste to Photoshop.
