SAP GRC vs. other GRC Systems

Hi experts,
does anyone has some information or a link regarding grc system comparisons, e.g. SAST vs. SAP GRC or in general? I didn't find anything about such comparisons, but I think it is helpful whlie discussing with the client and know disadvantages of other GRC systems.

Hi Tobi,
I've found the best approach is to talk directly to the vendors and build up your understanding that way. I am not aware of any links that have any reasonable level of info.
I've evaluated most of the solutions in this area and as you can imagine, a lot of the decent information is under NDA. I appreciate what you are trying to achieve but personally I don't think a forum sponsored by SAP is the sort of place to discuss competitors.

1. Yes all the dat needs to be copied
2. You can just assign the users in your orginazation structure to the profiles(Master data specialist, steward etc.) in BRF+
3. After copying the data to your standalone ECC 6.0 instance, all the process of data governance happens on your standalone system and once it is done you can replicate the data to your SAP 4.7 system. According to my experience, no functionalities will be missing.

Error while trying to send a file through XI to SAP R/3 based OLTP system

I encountered with an error in the runtime workbench for the below mentioned scenario
ERROR message
Unknown error: javax.ejb.CreateException: Neither messager server nor application server are defined for system IXI
SCENARIO
The manufacturing system triggers an equipment failure. The failure message is sent through SAP Exchange Infrastructure (SAP XI) to the SAP R/3 based OLTP system,
changing the equipment status to a failure state. This is achieved by triggering the execution of Remote Function Call (RFC) present in the OLTP system from the SAP XI integration server.

Hi Jishi,
Please check the Receiver RFC communication channel in your integration directory.
Check the logon parameters provided. From the error message, I guess there is no application server or message server provided, which is mandatory for XI to logon to the target backend R/3 system.

Since you want to transfer Article Master, it should be a Retail System. So you should use Message Type ARTMAS. For fullbuild, you can use transaction WDBM and for changes, you can use WDBU. For changes, you can enable change pointers for required fields using BD64.

Vendor replication Error. SAP R/3 to EBP system

I am using SRM 5.0. I am getting error while replicating the vendor master from SAP R/3 to SRM system.
T-code: SLG1
Warning 1:Error: No Industry Sectors Maintained No Industry Sectors Transferred

Country field is maintained for that vendor. I am trying with One vendor only . I have checked the country field in R/3 before posting this message.
One more question. I have created some vendor in SRM. Now i want to replicate these vendor in backend. Is this is possible ?.
Our business senorio is like this. For e-procurement of materials they will invite bids from different bidders(Register in SRM only). Once they finalized the L1 bidder they will issue PO to that bidder. That PO has to Copy in to backend.
To copy PO to backend, i think bidder data should be copied in to backend before. How to acheive this ?

XI server: External XML to SAP interface: No own business system

Hi, we have inbound XML interfaces into SAP via XI using JMS queues. We have a dev, test and int. test environment. The dev and test environments work OK. The int. test environment has just been set up. The XML appears in the XI server, viewed via monitor SXI_MONITOR. It has a red flag error, within the XML trace, No own business system, seee below for full msg. I've test in config and the receiver is determined correctly. Can anyone help? Using XI version 3.0, SP14.

Since SAP ISU is an extension and SAP Auto is an add-on and as they don't share FICA, can we say that both SAP ISU and SAP Auto can be activated in the same system?

I am Atush Rohan, I have done my "SAP Certified Development Associate - ABAP with SAP NetWeaver 7.0" on 3rd April 2009.
I want to appear for "SAP Certified Development Professional - ABAP System Interfaces with SAP NetWeaver 7.0". I have about 3 and half years or experience in SAP ABAP. And I plan to give this certificate exam in the coming 6 months.
Could you please tell me how i apply for this exam, and whether SAP provides the certificate material for the exam "P_ABAP_SI_70". Waiting for a positive reply.

hi,
actually you can find your sid on your certificate itself ... your sid will start with SXX .. ok now along with this you will receive an envelope in which there would be an letter where detalis regarding your sid and password for login access in sap market place will be stated... so you can login with that in server market place.... usually you get this along with the certificate and is being provided by the centres authority... now if you have not received it so you need to contact your centre and tell them to give it to you... if they dont barged then you can ask them for the concern guy's email .... this guy is the one who receives all the documents relating with your certificate .. now this guy is someone from sap labs banglore ... also if you have not received your id card so you can mail him or tell your centre authority in that case now usually the centre guys take the matters lightly ...
ok and as far as your certification exams goes i did search the pearson website they really dont have that professional certification for the abap guys but they do have one for functionals and some other....
ok now you need to approach yout nearest certification centre in that case and simply ask them that you need to appear for level 2 certification also you can contact the sap labs banglore in that case but i know that they are not responding .....
so in that matter you tell your centre that you need to schedule the certification they will charge you the certification amount and then will schedule the date..... yes they can do that.

SAP import the part of system copy.

Dear Experts,
I am doing SAP import the part of system copy. Every phase is complete successfully but in u201C Create Database Schema u201C status bar i got information u201C remove schema user SAPSR3u201D.
This step is running since 10 hours. Is this the actual time to be taken or am i missing out any task which needs to be looked into as well.
Kindly help to complete this task so that I can proceed with the process of importing.

SAP Web AS ABAP + Java system

Hello All,
I am looking at the installation guide of SAP XI. I did not understand one thing from that guide. it says
"If you want to install the component SAP Exchange Infrastructure:Prepare the SAP Web AS ABAP + Java system for SAP Exchange Infrastructure"
I would appreciate if anyone of you can clarify what is SAP Web AS ABAP + Java system.
What I have been thinking all these days is we could have either Java(J2EE) or ABAP Web Application Server.
I don't understand what this ABAP + Java system is ?

in the world of WAS 6.40 you can install it as three variant.
1. ABAP standalone (with it own SID) e.g. for R/3
2. Java stanalone (with it own SID) e.g. for EP 7.0
3. ABAP + Java as an Add in (Java and ABAP has the same SID)
For XI you have to install a so called double stack WAS 6.40 or SAP Web AS ABAP + Java System or ABAP + Java Add in. All this describe the same variant of the installation.
Normally you will have one database where J2EE-Scheme and
the ABAP-Schema is on the same database. I would really
suggest you to read the installation master SR1 there you
will get the understanding what is the difference.

Thank you very much for your help!
Finally my problem was solved. The problem was never about the parameter, as we thought initially. When we used SYSTEM, Portal didn't recognize de parameter, and it only worked because when the parameter is spelled wrong (or it's absent), the BI Master System is used.
The correct parameter is (and it always was) "System".
Moreover, we realized that it's not enough to define the alias of the referenced BI system in the Portal System. It's also mandatory to define that same alias in the default system that is created in the installation of the BI system (located at pcd:portal_content/Systemlandscape/SAP_BW of the BI System).
I hope this could help others having the same problem.

Compatibility between ECC 6.0 EHP4/NW 7.01 and other NW system

Our system landscape consists of ECC 6.0 EHP3 SPS 03 /NW 7.00 SPS 17 (Dual stack) and other Netweaver system like BI, GTS, Portal 7.0 SPS 17. We are thinking of upgrading ECC 6.0 only to EHP4 SPS08. Will it lead to any compatbility issues with other netweaver system? are there any dependencies? Do we also need to upgrade our BI, GTS and Portal system ?

Thanks Sunny for the info. I checked with upgrade dependency tool and it did not find any dependency.
However, according to note 1297231, SAP NW 7.0 should be at SP 22 to be compatible with EHP
6.0 EHP 4 SP08. Note 1165438 references 'hub' and 'sidecar' systems. In this case, do we need to update our "hub" and "sidecar" (BI, Portal, xRPM) systems to be at Netweaver 7.0 SP22 so that "thereby both
applications are synchronous?" The notes are not clear.
Do we need to patch our Portal, BI, and xRPM (currently at NW7.0 SP17) systems to NW7.0 SP22 as per the above notes?"
