SAP GUI710 Logon issue
Hi , all
Now , i am using SAP GUI710 , Patch level 3, i have an issue , if i leave the sec untouched for about 5 minutes , GUI will log off itself , and give me this information:
CD1: connection to partner " ..........: sapdp00" broken
WSAECONNRESET: connection reset by peer
though i can logon again , but this really boring me , every 5 minute , if no activity , then auto logoff and i need to logon again.
what is the problem , how to fix this ? thanks.
Hello,
If this happens for all the users , pl check the SAP instance parameter value rdisp/gui_auto_logout.
If it is 0 there wont be any auto log out.
set the value in seconds means if you set it at 300 it will log out automaticaly after 5 secs.
Pl try this . Dont forget to restart the server after making the changes.
Award if resolved.

SAP System Logon selection shows up blank in Crystal Reports
Hi there,
I've done the following so many times, in the following order, without running into any issues:
1. Install SAP Front End
2. Install Business Objects Enterprise 3.1
3. Install Business Objects Explorer 3.1 SP1 (Polestar 3.1)
4. Install Crystal Reports 2008 SP1
5. Crystal Reports Viewer 2008
6. Install Xcelsius Enterprise 2008 SP2
7. Install Live Office 3.1
8. Install SAP Integration Kit 3.1 (Custom-->Complete installation)
However, this time around I've run into an issue which I'm trying to resolve, but it has been a nightmare. When I try to access "SAP Table, Cluster, or Function" from File menu>New>Standard Report>Create New Connection>SAP Table, Cluster, or Function, I see the "Available SAP Systems" section blank on the "SAP System Logon" dialog box.
However, this dialog box shows all the connections strings when I access it via the SAP menu or toolbar in Crystal Reports.
To fix this issue I've uninstalled SAP IK, CR Viewer and Crystal Report and reinstalled it, but the problem persists. I am wondering if you have ever come across this before and if you could please give me some tips to resolve this.
Thanks a lot,
GauravHi
please do the following:
1. Define an environment variable (user or system) with the name SAPLOGON_INI_FILE . This variable should contain the path to your saplogon.ini file including the file name eg. if the saplogon.ini resides in the folder c:\windows the variable should contain the following value c:\windows\saplogon.ini
2. Open your saplogon.ini file using Notepad and go to File->Save as. Choose All Files in the field Save as type and DO NOT change the name of the file. In the field Encoding make sure that UTF-8 is selected.

Drill down functionality logon issue.
Hi Experts,
Recently we implemented SAP NW04s EP 7.0 and SAP BW.
We are following SAP logon tickets mechanism. We created a System Object in Portal to display the BW reports on the Portal.
Users can logon to the Port6al and access the BW iViews and execute the BW reports properly. All the functionalities are working fine except for the BW Drill down fucntionality. When the users logon to the portal with their UserId and Password they can execute the normal BW Reports. But when the users drilldown the report it is asking to enter BW System User id and Password again.
This logon issue happening for only BW Drilldown reports created either with local BW system Or source systems R/3, CRM etc..
The portal certificates were imported properly on the BW system in the cert list, ACL list, profile parameters are specified correctly.
Regards
RaviHello Ravi,
Am not sure if this will work but you can try resetting the BW password.
We have faced an issue on similar lines which got resolved by resetting backend system password.
Let me know what happens.

Client ID range for SAP GUI logon?
Hi,
Does anyone know what is the range of client IDs allowed for SAP GUI logon? I am assuming it to be 000-999. Is that correct?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
VenkatHi venkata,
As Cherry mentioned above you can choose any client with exception of <b>000 SAP AG</b>, <b>001 Auslieferungsmandant</b> R11 and <b>066 Early Watch</b>, you can use the rest 997 clients to setup your system.
Hope this help!

How can i find SAP Gui logon pad version
how can i find SAP Gui logon pad version ?
Hi,
That's easy. At the top of the logon, you see a title bar with a general version indication. At the most left of it, you'll see an icon. Click on that and choose about SAP logon and you'll get detailed info.

Insert Button on SAP GUI Logon Screen
Hello,
is it possible to insert a button on the SAP GUI logon screen like the "new password" button?
We want to insert a button, with which the user can generate a new initial password, if he has forgotten his password.
Thanks for answers

I fully agree.

Well, I'd propose to leave the SAPGUI screen untouched but only place a comment on the logon screen (see [note 205487|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/205487]) which informs the user on a URL to a web application (BSP) which provides the desired "forgotten password" self-service functionality.
In the internet you find many examples of such "forgotten password" self-services - good ones and not so good ones. What all of them have in common is the requirement that the user has provided a valid email address or mobile number (during the account registration) which can be used for the required off-band communication. However they differentiate in the way they try to mitigate misuse: some prompt for a so-called passphrase (in most cases: the user has entered a free-text answer to a question chosen from a fixed set of predefined questions, during accoutn registration) before sending a newly created password to the email address retrieved from the user account; others generate a (random) "password change token" which they send to the email address and prompt the user to enter this "password change token" on the webpage (the account remains untouched until the correct "password change token" was entered, in most cases this is also time-restricted). I prefer the latter one.

I have a requirement to detect the SAP GUI Logon type (GUI for Windows vs. GUI for Java) during the execution of a program.

Here's my question gurus...
Is there a way to enable SSO so that, after a user authenticates themselves within the portal, go back to the standard Windows SAP GUI Logon(pad) select the system enter the desired client and logon with having to provide a username and password? The credentials would be passed from the portal to the connected backend system.
We currently have a slew of systems and there corresponding clients it would be awesome to sync all systems with the portal and only have to administer passwords from and for the portal. Consequently the portal would handle the rest. The folks here have not fully embraced using the html version of the gui hence the reason for this posting.Hi Mike,
If i understood your requirement, You want to use SAP functionality form portal.
You Can do that, by creating a SAP System from your portal and you can call any Transactions from the portal it self, by using that System.
How to create System and User mapping for that System you can find in the below link. It may helpful to you. Ping me back, if you have any doubts.

Export SAP GUI Logon system properites to another laptop
Hi, SDN Fellows.
I want to run SAP GUI logon systems in another laptop. After installing a new SAP GUI client. Instead of re-add the logon system properties, is that a way I can export and import from another laptop? Say I have 10 logon system properties (some with application server and some with logon groups), how do I pick the 8 of 10, and export to another SAP GUI in another laptop?
Thanks,

SAP EHS Safety Issue mobile app on SMP 3.0
Hi,
I'm on the process of installing and configuring the SAP EHS Safety Issue mobile app on SMP 3.0. However, the current Administrator guide hasn't been updated since SMP 2.3.
Has anyone attempted to install this app on SMP 3.0? Any idea how this should be configured? Should it use the SAP Management Console or the Gateway Management Cockpit?
Also, does anyone has previous experience working with this app? How can I test the OData services without going through SMP?
Kind regards,
OmarFor anyone interested, here's some details:
The HTTP method implemented by the service is: http://<SAPserver>:8000/sap/opu/odata/EHSMM01/LWM_SAFETY_OBSERVAT
When you configure the app, you need to set this up as your backend endpoint. You can also set this up as your HTTP authentication for your security profile.
You don't need to use the Gateway Management Cockpit. Just create an application with app ID:
com.sap.bsuite.erp.ehsm.safetyobserver
and use the above information for the backend and security profiles.
That's all!
