SAP HA Installation - Windows 2012 with Sybase

Dear All,
I have just started the SAP HA Installation with Sybase Database on Sybase, but I am facing an issue in the First Cluster node installation.
First Cluster Node( Last error reported by the step: Windows system error message: 5942. Message: 'The resource failed to come online due to the failure of one or more provider resources. '.). You can now:
Cluster Even Logs -
Cluster network name resource 'SAP SBP NetName' failed to create its associated computer object in domain '***-co.com' during: Resource online.
The text for the associated error code is: Access is denied.
Please work with your domain administrator to ensure that:
- The cluster identity '***-PRD$' has Create Computer Objects permissions. By default all computer objects are created in the same container as the cluster identity '***-PRD$'.
- The quota for computer objects has not been reached.
- If there is an existing computer object, verify the Cluster Identity '***-PRD$' has 'Full Control' permission to that computer object using the Active Directory Users and Computers tool.

Direct Access on windows 2012 with OTP

Hello everyone,
i've just finished setting up Direct Access 2012 with Gemalto's OTP solution for a client,
i have an issue though, without OTP all is working fine, and when i activate OTP with all the certificates and stuff when i enter the OTP code on my client it looks like its not validating it.
on the Direct Access Server i get this error:
Erreur : Challenge returned.
source: RemoteAccess-RemoteAccessServer
ID: 10042
i have absolutely no errors on my radius server... any idea on why the server is rejecting my requests ?

SAP NW Installation on Oracle with original Oracle DVDs

Hi all,
I heard that it should be possible to instal SAP NW 7.0 with Oracle DVDs which are not packaged by SAP.
If this would be the case I have 2 questions:
- is this procedure documented (and where)
- would the resulting SAP system supported by SAP

Just be careful, because if you face any issue during the installation no using the SAP DVDs the support may no be able to help you.

Multiple owa sites on a single server 2012 with exchange 2013 (mailbox, cas)

I'm trying to
set up an exchange server 2013 on windows 2012 with all roles installed for 2 owa virtual directory, one for integrated windows authentication and the other for forms-based authentication.
I followed a tutorial for exchange 2010.

Step 1: IP Address
Obtain a second IP address and add it to the NIC of your server.
Step 2: DNS
Add a DNS entry for That secondary IP address for the name we will want to use in the new FBA OWA Web site.
I have chosen "testwebmail."
Be sure there is a valid SSL certificate (recommended to have UC or SAN
SSL certs) on the server Which has the new name "testwebmail" that will be used in the certificate.
Step 3: New Web Site
Create a new web site in IIS on the Client Access Server and bind it to the new IP address used in step 1.
Step 4: Adding Exchange Virtual Directories
The web site has been created and bound to the secondary IP address of our server.
Also the DNS record That will be used to access the OWA FBA new page was added to DNS.
The next step is to go into EMS and begin adding our virtual directories for OWA and ECP.
Login to the Exchange server and open the Exchange Management Shell.
Then run Get-Get-OWAVirtualDirectory and ECPVirtualDirectory to see the default OWA and ECP directories.
New-OWAVirtualDirectory -WebSiteName FBA -InternalUrl https://testwebmail.mylab.ad/owa
New-ECPVirtualDirectory -WebSiteName FBA -InternalUrl https://testwebmail.mylab.ad/ecp
Step 5: Configure the Virtual Directories
To configure the virtual directories we will disable FBA on the Default Web Site OWA and ECP virtual directories

now if I access the default site I log in with
windows integrated authentication, but when I try to access the second site with forms authentication tells me username or password incorrect

Enable the Basic authentication via running the following command:

Photoshop CS3 installer window not opening.

After i clicked yes on the warning that installing makes changes to the computer, nothing installer windows appear, with windows 7 32-bit os, intel dual core 2GHz processor and a 2GB of ram.

What is on your desk top is the installer.
Now you have to run that.

Windows 2012

Has anyone started testing Windows 2012 with their UCS? I have a few RTM servers up and running and I've seen a couple problems so far. I have them booting from SAN using B230M2 blades with the M81KR card.; that's working fine.
I ocassionally get hardware errors in the Windows system log:
Event ID 22
A fatal hardware error has occurred.
Component: Memory
Error Source: BOOT
Error Type: 17
The details view of this entry contains further information.
I tried installing the chipset drivers but they fail during the install.
I am also seeing 1 of the 4 paths to the storage go down intermittently. I am troubleshooting this to see if it's a SAN, switch or server issue.
When I see the path go down I find a bunch of errors in the Windows system log:
Event ID 153
The IO operation at logical block address 147f8 for Disk 1 was retried.
We are running F/W 2.0(3a)

I'm seeing events that I believe correspond with the loss of the path to the storage:
After a few of these the server reboots itself.
I'm not seeing anything in UCSM for the Windows memory errors though.
Our storage is a Dell Compellent SC040.
I'm going to do some comparrison testing at our DR site; we have an identical UCS and Compellet array there, but the Compellent is directly attached to the FI's. At our primary site the Compellent is attached to our Nexus 5020's. I don't thing the Nexus' are the cause of the storgae path issue; but it's worth a test.
Let me know how you make out with your B230 testing.

SAP Mobile Platform 3 compatibility with windows server 2012

Dear All,
As per SAP release notes Window Server 2012 is compatible with SMP 3.0 but after installation i see that the SMP3 Services are always into the hung state meaning they neither start nor stop. They are always in the starting state. Whereas it runs fine with Windows Server 2008 R2. When we force kill all the process running with SMP3 Service we can stop it but it doesn't start at all.
Has anyone faced this issue till now.

the database itself is Syabse Ase 15.7.And at this phase screen according to the screen by default the system ask to assign 102 gb for datafiles and log files 1gb Minimum , so in that case can we no t
assign more log file size .However we have not started the installation and we will expereince the same as we have done on Develeopment and quality system which is central sap system and we need to confirm we if can do for production HA system installation
Yes, you may assign more space in advance to datafiles and log file. What the screen shows is the minimum required space to successfully complete the import.
2.On the other hand , If we are doing fresh HA installation ,it will ask for 90 GB datafile and 10 G by default to assign and in this how we going to assign and split in 3 different drives which is of 150 GB
each.
Your Development system has been patched to latest level. Hence there is change in database size in development as compared to fresh HA setup where no patches have been applied. You may add 3 datafiles in each of these drives and assign the size which you prefer. Ensure its more than 10GB.
3.Getting confused in assigning the CI DI ,ERS ,ASCS on node 1 and node 2.
You may follow this simple approach
Node 1: DB + ERS + CI
Node 2: ASCS + DI
4.Is it good decision to do fresh HA installation on production server and lateron upgrade the stack level or does it matter if do system copy as it will save the time .
There is no issue in going with system copy approach as it will save time. If you are not comfortable with system copy method and do not have good command on DB, I shall suggest you to go with fresh installation and then apply patches. This way you are sure there is no junk coming to your production . In system copy , In case your source system has some junk data, the same might get transferred to production.

Actually, before starting SAPinst, i had created SAP<SAPSID> service & Application.
i.e.. by creating Empty service and application followed by renaming it to SAP<sapsid> and allocating shared disk and bringing it onlie with file server configuration with in it.
But, i'm facing the error during configuration of First node.
Done with ASCS and SCS .. selecting the correct drive where /usr/sap installed.
i request you to suggest me a solution to fix this problem during installation.

Can I use tape drive for backup with win 2012 OS & Sybase database?

I have installed enhancement package 6 for SAP ERP 6.0 with OS windows 2012 and database sybase ASE(15.7.050). I am facing problem while taking database backup on tape drive. I want to know how to initialize tape drive in case of sybase DB and is it possible to take back-up on same. I failed to schedule backup from DB13 so now I am doing that activity by command line. So please help me to solve these issues.
Here I am attaching some files related with backup commands that presently I am using. My SAP system ID is DQS.

That output actually looks pretty good, it was dumping to the tape drive, it just ran out of tape because the drive apparently doesn't automatically detect when it is reaching the end.
For the next step, try adding a CAPACITY parameter to your dump command as discussed at these places in the documentation.
Specifying tape capacity for dump commands
Set the Maximum Capacity for a Tape Drive
Your output above shows it was able to dump 87565594 KB before it ran out of tape,
so lets be a little conservative and try
dump database DQS to TAPE1 with capacity = 87000000, init
go
When the dump reaches that point, ASE should prompt you to pop in another new tape
and then issue the sp_volchanged procedure from a second session (it will tell you what parameters to use for sp_volchanged).
Note: once we get the dump working successfully, we can then create a logical dump device that would store the capacity value, and create a full dump configuration so you gain all the new functionality like dump history, etc.

Windows 2012 to Windows 2012 R2 Inplace with Sharepoint Foundation 2010 SP2 (4.0.7116.5000)

I found than Inplace update from 2012 to 2012 R2 are supported. I also found 2012 R2 will support SharePoint Foudation 2010 with SP2 (4.0.7116.5000).
But I cannot find if we perform an Inplace update from a Windows 2012 Server running SharePoint 2010 (Sp2) to R2 will be successful.
As anyone done that?

Hi ,
On Windows Server 2012 R2, Microsoft supports only the SharePoint Server 2010 SP2 slipstream media configuration and not the RTM version of that configuration. For full SharePoint functionality and support, you must have the February 2014 cumulative update
(CU) or a later CU installed.
Additionally, only a new SharePoint Server 2010 SP2 slipstream installation that has the February 2014 CU or a later CU installed is supported on Windows Server 2012 R2. Microsoft
does not support a Windows in-place upgrade for this scenario.
For your scenario, I suggest you create a new SharePoint Foundation 2010 with SP2 on Windows Server 2012 R2, then migrate the content to new SharePoint 2010.

Problem with services of SAP after installation of ABAP on MS SQL server

I am trying top install 2004 Netweaver ABAP+ JAVA on my machine
Following is my machine configuration -

Upgrade of Integation Services (Windows 2012 R2) on Windows 2008 R2 with Exchange 2013 SP1 DAG fails

Here is the scenario:
Legacy Host: Windows 2008 R2
Guest VM: Windows 2008 R2 with Exchange 2013 SP1 DAG cluster.
After importing the VM (2008 R2 and Exchange 2013 DAG) into a 2012 R2 host (Cluster). (copy VM files to new 2012 R2host) Everything works fine.
Then upgrading "Installation Services" (for Windows 2012 R2 host) on the imported VM runs fine with no errors to the "Restart" prompt. VM than shows: "Configuring Windows updates 32% complete. Do not turn
of your computer." Hangs there for about 20 minutes until is says "shutting down". Hangs there for 20 minutes until power off. Restart to normal start; "Preparing to configure Windows. Do not turnoff your computer." proceeds slowly
to "Configuring Windows updates 32% complete. Do not turn of your computer." hangs there again indefinite. Sometime hangs at shutdown cycle and "Configuring Windows updates 32% complete. Do not turn of your computer." indefinitely.
I moved 20 other machines from a 2008 R2 host to new Windows 2012 R2 hosts all of these machines install the 2012 R2 Integration services just fine on the 2008 R2 VM. Just the 2008 R2 VMs clustered (DAG) and Exchange 2013 SP1 do not take the Integration
Services upgrade.
Any advise from Microsoft? I know I could decommission the DAG and Exchange machines and install Integration services on the native box before Exchange and DAG and that would sure work, but I'd rather avoid that amount of work for a simple integration layer
upgrade.

Could you try use the following method to fix this issue first?
1. Run the System Update Readiness Tool, then check if there is any error in the Checksur.log and checksur.persist.log.
1. Please run the System Update Readiness Tool on this affected server. Please download this tool from the following Microsoft article:
Description of the System Update Readiness Tool for Windows Vista, for Windows Server 2008, and for Windows 7

2. The System Update Readiness Tool creates the log files that captures any issues that the tool found or fixed. The log files are located at the following location:
%SYSTEMROOT%\Logs\CBS\
3. Please paste the checksur.log here for analysis.
If there is no error found, please try the following step.

2. Use Fix it tool to reset the Windows Update components.
1. Open the following link.

2. Select Windows 8.1, Windows 8 and Windows 7 in the product selection box.
3. Click “Run Now” to reset the Windows Update components.
Note: We can reset the Windows Updates manually by following the steps in the KB above.
3. Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files
1. Open the command promote with Administrators.
2. At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
sfc /scannow
Any errors are found in the steps above, please let me know.

This 7.20 version used to run on this operating system fine. I reinstalled the OS, and now I got this.

I suppose you reinstalled the same OS.
Did you install the JSDK (java) afterwards. As you must be aware Java is a pre-requisite for the SAP Frontend.
Also make sure you have set the environment variables after installing java.
Further documentation, the SAP installation manual can be found in the u201CDOCUu201D folder of the installation software.
