Workflow Configuration has completed with error for OWF 2.6.4 on 11g DB

###Problem description###
After installing Oracle DB 11.1.0.6 and configured the dbconsole, for setting up OWF have run the %ORACLE_HOME%\owb\wf\install\wfinstall.bat
The input parameters were configured as to the information from http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/11gr1_owb/owb11g_update_extend_knowledge/less1_setting_up/less1_setting_up.html.
Unfortunately the process does not complete successfully and the log file contains the following errors:

(Is it possible to reinstall only the wf part of the 11g database as to attempt a fresh installation, not only to drop the OWFMGR schema as the oc4j wf instance remains unchanged? Have searched in OUI for this option but did not find the setting for removing only the workflow for reinstalling)

Thank you very much for your help. Have reviewed the mentioned notes, but unfortunately no information was contained concerning the encountered error.
As to try and address the situation, have completely re-installed Oracle DB 11.1.0.6 and still the workflow installation ends in error. I have to mention that it is a completely fresh installation, no modifications were made to the base configuration.
For windows the installation steps reference only running the wfinstall.bat script with the appropriate parameters for installing Oracle Workflow, but unfortunately it appears that the installation documentation is lacking some necessary steps as on a out of the box install the process does not complete successfully. The mentioned notes: 266612.1 and 351873.1 do not contain the information for troubleshooting the encoutnered issue.
The environment: Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 64b Operating System with Oracle DB 11.1.0.6

Issue with RCDC for Custom "Department" object type

Hey Guys,
Maybe somebody can point out where the issue is with the RCDC. I have a custom object type called Department in FIM portal and wanted to create a simple interface for it so users can add and edit department fields.
The only two fields that should show on the RCDC is department and divisions(this is the name of the custom field) all the fields work but I keep getting the following error "There's an error in the Department display configuration.Please contact your
system administrator"

Any advice is appreciated.

I don't know RCDCs well enough to debug it from the xml. One approach when I don't know something too well is to brute it. Copy one of the default RCDCs and make sure it's working then add the required attributes one by one checking that it works each
time. Once it's working with the added attributes remove all the ones you don't need. If that breaks it, go back to where it was working and remove them one by one.

Post Goods Receipt Reversal with VL09 for customer returns in WM

Hi,
We have performed Goods receipt and stock was putaway with a TO confirmation in WM. Now we want to reverse the goods receipt and the quantity is not in 904 area for returns. How can I get the stock back to 904 from regular storage type with same dynamic bin number as my customer return delivery number? Basically When I do VL09 system complains that it canot find the dynamic bin number which is same as my delivery number. Answer will be rewarded.

the optional solution can be as following steps:
1) create the bin manually with ls01n: storage type 904, bin name is the delivery number,
2) reverse with vl09 and a material doc will be created.
3) check the bin stock with ls24, you will see negative stock in 904.
4) create TO to offset this negative qty with lt06 with above mentioned material doc. this TO's source bin is just the one in regular storage type.
5) confirm TO
6) don't forget to delete the bin created in step 1, this is because it is created manually but not dynamic bin that will dissapear automatically.

Issue with SQL converter: Query Migration Tool for Microsoft SQL Server to SAP HANA

I am trying out this migration tool for converting my MS SQL queries to HANA.
I am running into issue while converting certain queries.
The issue is specific to "set" commands which set local variables inside "create procedure" commands.
e.g.
a standalone set command:
SET @var = (SELECT TOP 1 name FROM mytable ORDER BY name)
is converted well:
SELECT (SELECT TOP 1 "name" FROM "mytable" ORDER BY "name") INTO var FROM DUMMY;
But when the same is part of create procedure:
CREATE PROCEDURE [dbx].[XXXXX_YYYY_ZZZZ]
AS
SET @var = (SELECT TOP 1 name FROM mytable ORDER BY name)
it fails in converting the same:
--Statements in the input file contain errors; conversion was canceled

that tool cannot convert stored procedures. it is still being developed. For these you have to do it manually.

Universe based on SAP HANA OLAP connection

Can I create universe based on SAP HANA OLAP connection ?
How can i access SAP HANA view which was created using OLAP connection in WEBI and Dashboard? It does not allow creating Universe on top of SAP HANA OLAP connection and give an error.
SAP BusinessObjects query and reporting applications can directly connect to OLAP SAP HANA connections. No universe is required, only a published OLAP SAP HANA connection.

OLAP connection are only meant for tools that make use of OLAP connectivity only like BEx ..and HANA analytic views and calculated views are also treated as OLAP cubes for them..
So these connection is only available with analysis product like Analysis Office (which is meant to be used with Bex or OLAP cubes ) and Design studio which is again mainly built around OLAP paradigm..
You can not create a universe or Webi on Olap connection on HANA as of now.. However it could be like exposed in a future release of BO which is not public yet...

Creating Logic and modeling for SAP BW datasource in SAP HANA views and SLT

Hi to all,
I have small question.
We have BW system and SAP ECC as source system and to get data from SAP ECC source system we are using SAP ECC Standard data source.
Now we required to, create modeling in SAP HANA by use of HANA View and get data from SAP ECC source table via SLT.
So we can replicate same modeling,as we done in SAP BW system.
But my question is that, as SAP ECC standard data source hit multiple table and do run-time calculation, before sending to SAP BI.
How we can derives such calculation and logic, in our HANA studio, because as we know in SLT data transformation can be done in limited way also
in view we can not drive such logic via SQL script ?.
Is there any way we can do such modeling and logic in SAP HANA ?
or
is there any standard document for this type of case, which we can use ?
Note: We don't want to use SAP DS or DXC for data loading to HANA, as we want it in more real time.

As SLT is based on ABAP, so we can write complex logic in it.
But if we talk about SAP ECC standard data source, they have complex logic, based on multiple table.
So we need to write code from scratch in SLT to derive same result. but it will be huge time consuming , and required good ABAP skills, also it will lead to bug in code.
Also it will reduce the real time performance of SLT, due to complex logic.
Second option is procedure via SQL script, which is again huge effort in term if logic and can lead to error/bug in logic.
Does we have any other way or architecture to do this is very simple way, with high performance and less error issue.

SAP HANA security issue: SAP DBTech JDBC: [258]

Hello experts,
I am trying SAP HANA security features by playing out with a test user (MYTESTUSER) I've previously created. This is the permissions detail I've granted to the mentioned user:
Granted Roles:
PUBLIC
Object Privileges:
_SYS_BIC : SELECT
_SYS_REPO : EXECUTE, SELECT
REPOSITORY_REST (SYS): EXECUTE
MYSCHEMA : SELECT (Contains source tables for views)
Package Privileges:
TEST.MYTEST (Package containing my views)
Analytic Privileges:
AP_MYTEST : Contains all my views and a couple restrictions over an attribute.
What do I expect?: when logging on as MYTESTUSER it should be able to deploy the different folders in SAP HANA Studio, dive into "Content" folder, and even more: reach the package TEST.MYTEST, once there by selecting "Calculation Views" folder then being able to open CV_MYTEST calc view (which was already added into AP_MYTEST shown above).
What happens as is?: Running as MYTESTUSER I am able to reach the calc view, when opened it is able for view only (its design). When pushing over the button "Open in Data Preview Editor" it trhows me the error:
Cannot get the data provider outline
SAP DBTech JDBC: [258]: insufficient privilege: insufficient privilege: Not authorized at ptime/query/checker/query_check.cc:2418
What is expected?: Running as MYTESTUSER "Open in Data Preview Editor" feature must return and show adequate data from calculated view.
In consequence:
What does this error ("Not authorized at ptime/query/checker/query_check.cc:2418") specifically means and how to start addressing it?
I'm unable to determine what is crashing or in what point it doesn't work. Any clues?
I've also realized that there's no way out to perform some kind of trace (at least in an easy-known-fashion). Could you also advice? it would be quite important to be able to detect what are specifically the missing authorizations for a performed action. (kinda SU53 in SAP)

Can you check whether _SYS_REPO has SELECT access on your schema. Open _SYS_REPO user and check whether your schema is listed under objects privileges or not. If not run the below query.
GRANT SELECT ON SCHEMA <schema_name> TO _SYS_REPO WITH GRANT OPTION.
if it doesn't work try to give SELECT and EXECUTE access on both _SYS_BI and _SYS_BIC to your schema and check. And also but default your should have all the privileges on your schema.

I agree with you completely.
Company has consultants and they have already some topics but they asked me to find myself also .Also consult my university.
For Internship ,there is no specific requirement .I would like to do Internship (6 months) and then later thesis.I was just thinking ,if both topic would be same that would be great otherwise its okay.I have some know-how of SAP BASIS.
What about i do Internship in some topic in SAP BASIS and later Master thesis in SAP HANA?Would this option would be good for my future?
