SAP HANA Developer Edition on Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Hi All,
I have download SAP HANA studio, and Cleint successfully , I have also created Instance from AWS , I can see Instance is up and running brilliant , but to add system in HANA studio , we need to provide host name and user ID and password .
I am giving host as a my Instance IP address , I have tried with all possible user ID and password , I am still unable to connect my HANA Instance ( HANA server) from Studio.
Could you help me in this issue please .

I am sorry for bothering you again. really desperate to know about HANA.
I have download the Putty.exe and Puttygen.exe in my system, pageant is already running .
when I say Open, I am getting this error .
after I say "YES".
I don't know this password , I have tried with HANAabcd1234.
but I am not lucky yet.
Pageant is already is working .
Please help me .

AWS Instance Types for SAP HANA Developer Edition

According to the SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud Appliance Library, the recommended (and only) AWS instance type for running SAP HANA Developer Edition 1.0 SPS08 is m2.4xlarge; however, according to Amazon, this is a previous generation instance type. Per Amazon's upgrade path, the current generation upgrade from M2 is R3.
In addition, the m2.4xlarge instance type is costly for those who would like to expand their personal training experience beyond the free developer account on the HANA Cloud Platform.
Will the R3 instance types (specifically r3.large or r3.xlarge) be made available for running SAP HANA Developer Edition?

AWS - Cannot Terminate SAP HANA, developer edition 1.0 Rev 72

Hi,
yesterday I tried setting up an SAP HANA, developer edition 1.0 Rev 72 . However, the instance didn't get fully created, due to permissions issues with the AWS account I was using. So, I set up a new AWS account, and wanted to try again with the new AWS account.
However, I now have a "Prepared" instance that will not Terminate - if I try and terminate it, I get the following error:
Instance Operation Failed
Operation Terminate failed with message: AMAZON : You are not authorized to perform this operation.
Could you please manually delete this instance for me, because I am unable to move forward without being able to remove this instance.

The first AWS account I used is a corporate AWS account. In this account my permissions were restricted, hence I don't think it ever fully prepared the instance.
The second AWS account I used, has a valid credit card attached, but, I can't switch it over to using this AWS account because I still have an Instance on the first account that I cannot, delete, remove, terminate. So until I can get rid of this broken instance, I can't do anything at all with the second AWS account.

created AWS account, SCN account and CAL accounts...
reached the point of selecting the
SAP HANA developer edition 1.0 rev 80 - try now
get an error: Operation Failed. An error occurred; contact your SAP Cloud Appliance Library operator
Tried different approach
followed this document

filled out the form with the AWS account info and region.
When submitted, get error
error while processing the request
The declaration for the entity HTML Version must end with '>'
I am using Chrome browser.

sometimes AWS needs 24 hours to fully enable the AWS account.
How much time did elapse between the time you created the AWS account and the time you entered the credentials in CAL?

When I want to suscribe to the CAL Free Solution - SAP BPM and Operational Process Intelligence on SAP HANA, on the Terms and conditions page, even if I scroll down, the button "I accept" is not available.
Do you have any tips ?

How to Store Amazon Web Services (AWS) SSH Key

I am attempting to connect to an AWS linux instance via SSH. I have downloaded the keypair that AWS created, but I am unable to copy the pem file into the .ssh folder. In terminal I am able to see the .shh folder is there, but in finder I can not navigate to it and if I use the go to folder option it just tells me it can't find the folder. If I try and use terminal to copy the pen file in the .ssh folder it errors with a message about not being able to find the folder.
Can anyone help me with what I need to go to get the key into the .ssh folder?

I have been able to move the file. I changed the permissions on the .ssh folder to 700 and then corrected a typo in the copy command.

Persisting legal FMS 5.0 licenses on Amazon Web Services through future up-sizing?

I am running the developer version Flash Media Server 5.0.1 (Windows) on a x64 Amazon Web Services small instance VM. The starter AMI for the server was one of the stock AMIs built by Amazon.
I have a shiny new license for FMS Professional but not yet applied to FMS.
I want to apply the license now and continue running as a small instance until I need more performance. Eventually I will want to gradually and periodically up-size it to increasingly larger AWS instances.
Is this possible with the FMS license?
Will I have any issues of invalidating the license because the underlying hardware configuration changes?
What will I need to do to ensure that I can upsize the same server (not create a new one) without invalidating the FMS license?
What other issues should I know about that I am too ignorant to ask?

I understand that I must terminate one instance.
I am not trying to run two instances (virtual computers) with a single AMS license.
Are you saying that I can freely "move" the license from one instance to another as long as the license is applied to only one instance (server) at a time?
I need to know if changing the number of virtual cpus and/or the ram will invalidate the AMS license activation.

Adobe Media Server 5 on Amazon Web Services was suggested to my project manager as a way to deal with some of the video we have to host at work, but after signing up and poking around, I'm wondering: how do you actually use it? Is it something that requires the Media Server software, or is there a web interface through AWS? I follow the links, and they tell me it's already active for my account - but I still see no way to use it.

I build the Amazon EC2 successfully.
In amazonpayments, the amazon show me an Activation Key.
On Application Activation:
The screen give me following information.
Generate an Amazon Activation Key
An activation key may be required as part of an application's registration process. If your application requires it, follow the steps below:
Step 1: Click on the Generate Key link to generate an activation key for an application.
Step 2: Copy the activation key.
Step 3: Click on Go to Application to access the application.
Step 4: Paste the activation key if and where the application specifies.
But in Adobe Flash Media Administration console, It is missing the License(Serial Key)
Does it need enter License(Serial Key)?
How can I use the Activation Key?

This Activation Key is only for identification purposes. In most cases, you will not have to use it. Once you subscribe to FMS on AWS, you are ready to go and use FMS AMI's.
Also, FMS on AWS does NOT require any License or Key. It works on a separate Licensing model.

SAP Community Developer Edition - Where/When is it?!

Does anyone have any information regarding exactly when we can expect to see the free "SAP Community Developer Edition" come out? I'm eager to start working with it.

Also if anyone can tell me if I'm on the right or wrong path in seeking this edition I would be grateful. I'm a .NET Developer looking into creating 3rd party apps to allow users to migrate into SAP more easily. I already have the .NET connector and the ES Explorer working, but i obviously need valid login credentials to use these tools, and I'm hoping that obtaining the SAP CDE will provide that for me.

I guess "the promissed non-expiry license" does not exist until now. Do you ever thought about using SAPLINK, to save your developing objects and reuse it on other systems?
If you want to develop again with a working system, just reinstall minisap and import your SAPLINK exports.

Migrate oracle database to Amazon web services

Has anyone migrated an existing oracle database 11g or higher to the AWS Amazon web services ?
I don't believe we can use AWS's RDS Oracle service so we would have to customize it.
We are presently on a linux server and use Oracle Flexible Arch.
How do you tell/set AWS to replicate the file names and directory that oracle would use?
Appreciate any tips or documents that you can point me to.

That should execute, once triggered and caller shouldnt need to wait till its completion.

Let your web service start its own background thread (*) somehow and move your business logic from web service to this thread. Then you can return from your web service. The client won't be blocked and your application will run on your server after service callout will be finished.
I hope that's what you need. Anyway, there is only "asynchronous communication" and nothing like "asynchronous web service". At least from HTTP point of view, every call is synchronous - you have request and response.
(*) You shouldn't start your own thread since you are in JEE world. Look at documentation for your container. E.g. for weblogic there are workers you can use this way. Or you can choose the other way. I hope that for any container you can just enqueue your web service request to any JMS queue and move your business logic to an appropriate MDB. Then, your web service will be just a simple JMS producer and your web service client won't be forced to wait for business logic to finish.
Last but not least, next time choose a better forum. :-)
