I have recently started with SAP-HANA .Would like to know the document taking into consideration the following 2 scenarios's :
1. SAP HANA along with SAP-BW .
2. SAP HANA stand alone

Next step, when I am trying to assign a token, I could not able find a token. How to get a token from here?
My intention of creating user, group, role and token is for getting access to Mobile documents admin console.
However I have also tried to access the mobile documents admin console via link

When I browse the above link, It shows HTTP 503 the requested service is not currently available.
I am not sure, How to get access Mobile documents Admin page from here

I guess this is the same question as the one about the SD content, so my answer is the same:
if you have access to the HANA Live RDS documentation which comes as part of the so called Step-by-Step Guide you can find a document RDS_SHL_HANA10V5_Technical_Content_Mapping_EN_XX.xls in the folder structure. To get to this file you need to drill down this path:..RDS SBS Guides\HANA Live\V5\Serv_Enabled\RDS
In that file you find all the tables used in all the RDS content.

ABAP for SAP HANA

Is there any difference in normal ABAP and ABAP for SAP HANA ? If yes , then please guide me how to proceed for learning ABAP for SAP HANA ?

There is a slight difference between ABAP and ABAP for HANA. If you are well aware of all ABAP concepts then you can easily understand the ABAP for HANA concepts.
Some of the differnce which I observed.
1. New syntax for Open SQL is introduced, which includes support for comma separated lists, enhanced string expressions, the definition of host variables in a more standard fashion, and fewer restrictions for joins.
eg: SELECT so.matnr, so.mtart FROM mara AS so INTO TABLE @it_mara UPTO 10 ROWS.
2.It uses the TOP DOWN approach so we can use HANA databases capabilities. you can get more information on this in this blog ABAP for HANA and "Code Push-Down"

Unable to see SAP BusinessObjects Document Viewer template in 7.4 portal

Hello Experts,
We are looking to integrate dashboards created with BOBJ design studio into enterprise portal (NW 7.4). We have followed the steps mentioned in the blog Integration of BOBJ with SAP Portal.
Namely:
1. Taken the com.sap.businessobjects.iviews.par and com.sap.businessobjects.iviews.templates.epa files from the BI server
2. Imported the EPA file into the portal
3. Converted the com.sap.businessobjects.iviews.par file into EAR file and deployed it into the portal
4. Created System alias for the BI system
5. Configured SSO between portal and the BI server
After doing these steps when trying to create the Business Objects iView we are unable to see the SAP BusinessObjects Document Viewer template in the portal. Can anyone let me know if we have missed some additional configuration that has to be done?

Hi Experts,
Issue has been resolved. After importing the EPA file into the portal, we missed out restarting the portal. Once this was done I am now able to find the SAP BusinessObjects Document List and SAP BusinessObjects Document Viewer templates in the iView creation wizard.

SAP HANA as a data source for Analysis Services

I tried to use SAP's .net provider for HANA as a data source for an Analysis Services cube but to no avail.   I can connect, create a named query and preview data from the data source view designer but when SSAS actually tries to run the query,
it wraps the named query in another query and produces a syntax error.
For example, if the named query is "select * from ENTHANA.MARA",
SSAS sends a query like this "SELECT [test].* FROM (select * from ENTHANA.MARA) AS [test]" (Test is the name of the named query).
I know SSAS wraps queries and that's fine - except that brackets are not a valid way to quote an identifier in HANA. HANA uses double quotes like Oracle.
Is there any setting in SSAS that can affect this behavior?   Will HANA ever be a fully supported data source for SSAS? If so, when?

According to your description, you are creating a SQL Server Analysis Services project, now what you want is using SAP HANA as the data source, right?
SSAS support many type of data source. However, as you can see on the link below, SAP HANA data source was not listed on that link. So this type of data source is not supported in current version of SSAS. Microsoft will update that document when it is supported.

SAP HANA D3 Library errors - "queue" is not a function

Hello all,
i have a question regarding D3 Integration into SAP HANA and hope one can help me.
The last days i developed a D3 Choropleth (spatial data) with hover effects, tooltips and a legend. I have an existing SAPUI5 and HANA XS application running and now i wanted to integrate my D3 Choropleth.
1 ) First of all, i added the following tags into the head section of the index.html file of my SAPUI5 project as i need those libaries.

I have a SAPUI5 shell with different NavigationItems (tabs) and for this D3 Choropleth tab i am writing:

When i start my SAPUI5 project and klick on the tab where the D3 Choropleth should be rendered, i get the following errors:
d3.scale.threshold is not a function
d3.geo.albers center is not a function
queue is not a function
Moreover, i have to say that my D3 Choropleth works standalone outside HANA very well, that is why i assume it is a library integration issue.
In my browsers (firefox) developer console i can see that there is a D3 library loaded by default (as it is one of SAPUI5s components) with the path: sap/ui5/1/resources/sap/ui/thirdparty/D3.js.
BUT this is a really old version of D3 (2.9), the current release is D3 (3.4), so maybe the problem is that the D3 libary that is loaded by default overwrites my integration of D3 (script tag above)?
Does anyone have the same issues and knows how to solve that? Furthermore it seems that the d3 queue library is also not integrated as the error "queue is not a function" occurs and i also ask me how to solve that error.
We have SAP HANA Developer Edition Revision 80 (by AWS), HANA Studio and Client are on revision 73 (64bit).
It would be great if anyone could help me with my issue.
Further question: Is the current release of D3 going to be integrated into the next HANA revision?

Hi Andreas,
You are right. The way you integrate the libraries in your code is not the way that will work for HANA XS projects. This is why it doesn't accept the queue function (library is not loaded) and also why the 3.x only D3JS funcitons are not accepted (only the internal D3JS library is loading and these functions were not a part of 2.9 yet).
To integrate third party libraries, you need to add XSJSLIB files to your project. These need to pass the server-side JSLint checks before accepted by the XS engine. (Client-side checks that fail might not count though).

Integration Process Config SAP Hana Cloud integration with SuccessFactors

We are trying to connect SF with our SAP backend, I'm currently reading the following document: "Integration Add-On 3.0 for SAP ERP Human Capital and SF".
I'm fairly new to SAP so I have a few questions, since I didn't found the answer on the rest of the Community maybe this topic can serve to ask a few questions in my setup process.
(Questions are in Bold)
Question 1:
The document dictates: "Discover the packages for qualification data integration from the SAP HANA Cloud catalog. Once imported, please
configure them as per your requirements. The integration flows are shown in the following table."
I tried searching for the SAP HANA Cloud catalog but I didn't found where it is or what it is?
Question 2:
Where do you setup the connection between SF and SAP? And do you have to do more customizing in SF (where is this described)?

Thanks to everyone for putting all the hard work for compiling the OPEN SAP courses and other Documents.. Hats off..
There is one query which has put me in a certain kind of retrospective. In large number of projects which we have worked we have written so much ABAP code ( Without SQL statements being optimized since Database Procedure statements were not much in use as it is now after introduction of HANA ) . So does it mean that SAP will ask all customers to upgrade using SAP Hana Approach or the Only the newly created programs and Database tables etc will use HANA approach..!
Also i wish to know how much influence will HANA have going further from an Abaper's Prospective.

as mentioned in the course (ABAP Development for SAP HANA - Dr. Jasmin Gruschke and Jens Weiler) with the features provided in SAP NW 7.4 we encourage you to follow the code-to-data paradigm to push data-intensive coding down to the HANA database. But we also encourage you to do this with the capabilities Open SQL, CDS views, (and AMDPs if the other are not enough and you need native HANA features). With these ABAP-managed capabilities, there's no need to go too deep into the HANA (talking about becoming a HANA native programmer) but of course HANA has a huge influence on how we develop - it's HANAs capabilities that we are leveraging when doing the code-to-data paradigm.
So, we typically say, that it's important to get an understanding of SQL (in particular of the Open SQL), which is sometimes lost when only accessing the database content via exiting FuBas, Class methods, or other APIs. But to understand how you (well your programs) can profit from HANA, you should have a fundamental understanding of how SQL can help you... e.g. that JOINs might be a better option than SELECT..... SELECT SINGLE ... ENDSELECT loops etc.
And with the rise of S/4 HANA (see the openSAP course SAP Business Suite 4 SAP HANA in a Nutshell - ) it should be clear that ABAP is still an important ingredient in the world of business application :-)

Query about ABAP future in SAP HANA

Hello Experts,
I have read many articles and SDN post about SAP HANA but does not get clear answer.
I am having 7 years of experience of SAP ABAP and wanted to learn ABAP in SAP HANA.
I learn that SAP HANA is having its own language also as SQL script in earlier release but would this be using also in current and future.
So would learning of SQL script give more advantage and how can i get started learning ABAP in SAP HANA.

Creating Logic and modeling for SAP BW datasource in SAP HANA views and SLT

Hi to all,
I have small question.
We have BW system and SAP ECC as source system and to get data from SAP ECC source system we are using SAP ECC Standard data source.
Now we required to, create modeling in SAP HANA by use of HANA View and get data from SAP ECC source table via SLT.
So we can replicate same modeling,as we done in SAP BW system.
But my question is that, as SAP ECC standard data source hit multiple table and do run-time calculation, before sending to SAP BI.
How we can derives such calculation and logic, in our HANA studio, because as we know in SLT data transformation can be done in limited way also
in view we can not drive such logic via SQL script ?.
Is there any way we can do such modeling and logic in SAP HANA ?
or
is there any standard document for this type of case, which we can use ?
Note: We don't want to use SAP DS or DXC for data loading to HANA, as we want it in more real time.

As SLT is based on ABAP, so we can write complex logic in it.
But if we talk about SAP ECC standard data source, they have complex logic, based on multiple table.
So we need to write code from scratch in SLT to derive same result. but it will be huge time consuming , and required good ABAP skills, also it will lead to bug in code.
Also it will reduce the real time performance of SLT, due to complex logic.
Second option is procedure via SQL script, which is again huge effort in term if logic and can lead to error/bug in logic.
Does we have any other way or architecture to do this is very simple way, with high performance and less error issue.
