SAP Hanged

I installed one addOns. its working properly most of time. The problem is some times the sap application hang(once in a week or twice in a week) while working in the form.i modified sales invoice form. Any one have a solution

Hi Muna,
What do you mean by SAP Application Hangs? Does it crash or simply don't respond?
If it's the later I came across that problem before and detected that was one of the following problems:
1. SQL Server problem: the server running the SQL Server was not processing the data in time. We upgraded the machine and the problem was solved. Your DBA can detect if this is the case running a SQL Profiler.
2. Network problems: the network switching wasn't working problem and SAP B1 was loosing the connection with the server. Usually when this happens the SAP B1 Add-On crashes.

For instance, you need to check if the DB is up, any free space in oraarch, if SAP can connect to DB, if all processes are ocupied....

As you already mentioned, when the system is hanging, i check:
- are the SAP processes are running?
- can i connect to the DB (for example with R3trans -x)
- i check the tracefiles (dev_wX and dev_disp) in the work directory for errors
- then i use the dpmon tool to check, what is running on the processes, you can stop a blocking process there, if you see it

Too many dialogs get stuck on CPIC stopped,SAP hangs intermittently on prod

Hi All,
I'm having a problem with a production system in which users started complaining about getting the hourglass cursor intermittently, and this is happening from multiple different locations / networks. Around the time the problem occurs, SM66 shows many dialog processes in status "Stopped CPIC". The processes are from different users and processes.
I've checked the workprocess trace files, made sure there was no memory bottleneck with the gateway profile params, checked System log and oracle alert log, but cannot find any clues.
Could anyone please suggest some other places to look for clues or possible suggestions?

The problem and solution was very interesting.
1. We found that an external AS400 system that communicates with SAP was somehow sending the IP address in EBCDIC format, which looks like strange characters. We saw the strange characters in the Gateway NI/Hostname buffer. During each hang situation, we saw these special characters in the Gateway trace file. The Gateway was attempting to resolve the IP address for the strange EBCDIC characters, but the EBCDIC characters were actually the IP address itself when converted from EBCDIC to ASCII.
2. As per SAP, we added the strange character hostname/IP to the /etc/hosts file with the correct IP, and the hangs stopped happening.
3. After these 60 second hangs stopped happening, we were still getting 10 second hangs every 3 hours.
4. SAP found that the Gateway logging option was causing the 10 second hangs.
5. SAP is working on a kernel fix so that the Gateway doesn't hang in these situation. We have the workaround in place for the time being.

SAP Business One Hanging Problem

Dear Sir,
We are using SAP B1 2005 on Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Edition. We have 13 users and there is an issue that SAP hang 5 to 7 times in a day on Server end also on clients end. That's we are facing too problem because due to this problem we are restarting the server when SAP hang. I have also checked the internet speed it comes 2.2Mbps. Now it become a big issue. So, I hope that we will surely get a best response from you for the same.

SAP not loading properly

Has anyone ever had any problems with SAP 'hanging' after sign on?
I'm accessing a customer's site via remote desktop direct to their dedicated SAP server- I click the SAP icon and then select the database I want to access from the list.
The system then hangs and doesn't load the normal menus and if you click on the window, the title bar reads SAP Business One 2007A (Not Respnding).
I have tried uninstalling the client and re-installing it and this has not worked.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Crystal Report print layout error during print preview

Hi Everyone,
When I try print preview a marketing document, it will work the first time, and then when I try to print preview again it brings up a window asking me to login into the database with the sa username and password.
When putting in the correct password, the login fails.
When I click cancel, SAP hangs up and requires a restart.
All print layouts were done in Crystal Reports, and imported via the report layout manager.
This occurs on all marketing documents where there is a crystal print layout.
Anyone will be able to help me with this?

I have some files stored in a table.
The table structure is as follows.

I am trying to download the files from that table to local machine.
I am using IMPORT statement and FM 'WS_DOWNLOAD' to download.
Import statement as follows:
IMPORT data_len data_file_name data_tab
                             FROM DATABASE zattachments(wb) ID data_key.
After downloading some files all SAP screens hang.
Total size of files is around 6 GB.
I am able to download 2.5GB files. after that SAP hangs. Is it a memory issue or something else???

SBO stop functioning and size of SBO-Common is huge

Hi Forum,
I am facing one problem since last two week that SAP HANG on on Server and client.
We are using Windows 2003 R2 server and Windows XP as client. For Remote conneciton we are using GoGlobal.
SAP Business One 2005 B PL 25 we are using. Addon are TDS, XL Reporter, our customised ADDon is using.
And yes size of Database is appx. 6 GB and size of SBO-Common_log.ldf is appx 209 MB after shrinking. Before Shrinking it was 470 MB.
We are daily clean-up temp files and other things at both server and client places.

Hi Chintesh,
Your db size is not that huge. It may only be a little bit more than average. The slow performance could be affected by other factors like hardware, network related or anything could have contributions. You would be better check it in the test environment to narrow down the true cause of the problems.

The Report Server Failed Error in Crystal Report

Dear All,
I converted one PLD to Crystal Report using the Crystal Converter tool in SAP B1 8.81 Pl00. However, when I try to preview the Crystal Report, I am getting an error "The Report Server Failed" and then SAP hangs.
Any known solution for this?

Nokia 5800 - does it connect to Mercedes SIM ACCES...

I know the S60 operating system includes SAP in its bluetooth profiles, but I would like to be sure the NOKIA 5800 connects to Mercedes in the SAP profile before I buy one. Does anyone have experience of this?

The N5800 express music connects OK to MB SAP & MB Bluetooth telephone modules.
With the standard BT modue you can make (dial on the phone only) and receive calls but the phonebook will not appear in the car system. The BT module uses the phones aerial so uses battery fast.
The SAP module will download the contents of the SIM card phone book and will record missed calls etc. I have not found a way to make text messaging work,and I have also found that once in SAP mode I cannot access the SIM card memory even when the phone is disconnected from the car.
Connection with both modules usually happens automatically but I have had issues with the SAP hanging and asking for PIN codes. These usually work OK but sometimes I have to restart the phone to make it all work OK. Overall it's a fag and I'm going to look for a better phone OS.

Each SAP B1 Client is using an addon, which do a WM (Warehouse management) based on WHSE Journal. Until upgraded to 2007 version, this was working fine, no issue came up only system was slow.
Process with pseudo code like this
'incoming cases - when an item is entering into the warehouse
Add Logistics documents (action success = true)
- start transaction
- check Warehouse journal
- record changes done by this document (based on oinm) into (UDT)
- finish transaction
'outgoing cases - where an item is carried out from the warehouse - create a self pick list example: sales order:
start transaction
- loop on every rows of the sales order
- read ordered quantity
- look for place where it is stored,
- if found make a reservation in (UDT)
- add position to self created pick list (UDT)
finish transaction
'release from warehouse
start transaction
- look for pick list position (UDT)
- reduce stock value (UDT)
- update pick list with packed quantity (UTD)
- create delivery note
finish transaction
Depending from activity the users receive various error messages like Could not commit transaction / Deadlock ... / -2038 Internal error xxxx messages, when trying to access to UDT-s or any marketing documents, and the system is frozen. I go to activity monitor, and check and tell them which client is causing dead locks, they log off ,and can continue work or if the process runs to timeout, it sends the error message to SAP B1 Client.
Also we have an addon which reads (only reads) data from database from OITM / OITW / and one of these UDT above. (queries against stock value from UDT). here we receive 2 type of error messages
- Deadlock
- Timeout
I know these messages are coming from: other computers /Users are issueing documents in transaction.
Any ideas to resolve this issue / has anybody happened this issue ?
Every ideas, comments are welcome.
The system is b1 2007 SP 01 PL 10. Average document position between 50-100.
Solution Architect team? Any workaround?

I'm not sure but I think the Checked property of the check box, triggers a Click event. If so, your code is creating an infinite loop.
Why don't you use two Option buttons grouped together. That way you don't need to code any verification.

Business Partner Account Balance Drill Down

I have a problem with a specific user a site not being able to Drill down into Account balance on the BP screen. She has restarted her PC and is having the same issue on other PCs. The drill down seems to working fine for all the other users.
They are running 8.82 PL07 We've ran the restore item balances function, but the problem still exist.
She can see the account balance and the drill down arrow, but SAP hangs as soon as she clicks the drill down buttton. I doesn't cause any locks for any other users.
Any ideas?

Database timeout

Hello,
I am relatively new to SAP Business One. The company is just starting to get our feet wet with SAP. We have some quirks that need to be resolved. One such quirk seems simple to fix but its driving me nuts. I have a user who is trying to do Production Receipts - after she enters the information and clicks 'update'...SAP hangs. Eventually a database timeout error will appear at the bottom.
I have tried multiple computers, re-installed the client, installed the client on a PC that did not previously have SAP B1 client installed, and played around with networking settings. When she enters production receipts on other PC's - it works just fine...no errors appear. It seems like a very random issue. I am not sure if this is an SAP issue or related to the PC.

I did uninstall and reinstall the client on the users PC. I also installed the client on a laptop which did not have a client previously installed.
I am going to rebuild a computer, install everything from scratch and try that.
