What to share on SAP Hanna database server for application instance

Hello
I wander what do I have to share on my SAP Hanna database server (installed via SAP_HANA_Server_Installation_Guide_en.pdf). for an application server installation.
Here it seems we have a little bit different situation than with a classical database. We have
we do not have "sapmnt". Should we create it and mount it on application server. I guess /usr/sap/trans should also be created.
Is there something more?
Let say db instance is DB1

"There is no 64-bit version of SAP GUI for Java available. SAP GUI for Java can be run on 64-bit hardware provided there is a 32-bit Java runtime environment available for that hardware and operating system. For updates see SAP note 1018530. "
So in short you need to install a 32 bit JRE.
Also, you might like to try the newly released 7.10 version.

Problems by just deleting my account on aws.amazon but forgot to delete the intancia in HANA sap, she is now open and the cost is getting too high, I try to delete or disable the instance however an error occurs and the message "An error occurred, contact your SAP Cloud Appliance Library operator "

SAP Note <a href="http://service.sap.com/~IRON/FM/011000358700000431401997/171356">171356</a> lists all Linux distributions that are certified for SAP. From SuSE it is SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 8 - SLES8 (but not recommended anymore, because the end of maintenance will be end of 2007), SLES9 and SLES10. Other certified distributions are Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 and 4 an for the Asian market, Red Flag.

Roles for Contact Person in MM-SUS Scenario

Hi !
When we create a contact person using the Create user option in SUS, we assign the roles to the contact person. These roles are basically the standard SAP roles for SUS. We have created Z-roles ( a copy of the standard roles) to restrict cetain txns for users and would like to assign these Z-roles to the contact person . How can we ensure that the Z-roles are displayed instead of the standard roles ?

Roles:
SAP deliver standard roles with authorisations, if You want to maintain your own go to transaction PFCG.
There are two type of role:
- single role
- composite role - (one or more single roles)
To roles You can assign transaction codes, reports, URL links, etc. SAP System automatically creates the authorisations that you can set on Authorisations tab page.
Authorisation:
Authorization profiles must be generated before you can assign them to users. An authorization is generated for each authorization level in the browser view, and an authorization profile for the whole role as represented in the browser view.

SUS invoice "check payment" status

Hi
We are implementing MM-SUS scenario with SRM7.0 and ECC6 EhP 4 back end. When we process invoice from SUS its fairly replicated and posted in ERP and payment is made against the invoice in ERP. Now wehn I click on "Check payment status" button in SUS, the invoice web page turns to balnk and no information revtrieved from ERP.
The customization for "check payment" is in active for SHOW_INVOICE_PAY_STATUS. And RFC connections are healthy. Could not understand why system could not get the payment status from back end
Any inputs are appreciated.

1.i have extraced the file of IBMjava2-JRE-1.4.2_12 amd64.tgz into opt folder.
   but i used default jdk 1.6.0 which is came from the open suse11.0.
2. i have decalred the environment variables as follows;
   for java

   export PATH=/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.6.0/bin
   for SAP Installation master
   export SAPINST_JRE_HOME=/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.6.0/jre
   export DISPLAY=water:0.0
3.i have created sapmnt folder in /
4. but during the third phase of instalation(unarchived files) solution manager
    it is unable to continue

I am sorry but I guess you are using the wrong versions here
SAP does not support SUSE11 and also Java version should be 1.4.2.....
SAP only supports SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10,SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9,SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 8
Refer to SAP notes 171356 for SAP on Linux
1172419 for Java versions

SRM MM-SUS for Direct Material ( i.e. Ext Classic Scenario)

Hi Friends,
We are planning to have the Classic Scenario in SRM 7.0 with SUS. So it will be SUS-MM scenarion and it supports only for Classic Scenario,
But when there is a case of Direct Materials [ Manual or through PDP ( Ext Req) ], it is SAP by defaullt setting that , system determine Extended Classic Scenario.
Now , if SUS-MM supports only to Classic scenario ,then we can collaborate the Orders of Direct Material genereted through Ext Classic Scenario in SUS ?
Confused over these contrast . Can any one suggest that how to get both one in SUS-MM ?

It seems here is some confusion. PDP of Dircet Material is standard SRM secarion where we can soure the requieremnets generted in various SAP Module like PS, PM , SD, APO..etc. So We just hav eintenstion to source the requiermnet in Sourcing cockpit to create the PO .
Okay. For time being , forget the PDP of Direct Material.
Just take the Direct Material ( For which we mention inventory or we procure for stock) only.
By SAP standard / defualt setting , for Direct Material , local PO is generted ,althoug we have mentioned Classic Senrion setting for the same . And it is Extended Classic Scenarion. Right!
At another side , it is SAP standrad that SUS-MM senarion support for only CLASSIC SCENARIO.
Then , my conern is how we can send these Local orders for dircet Material to Supplier via SUS ? Wether it is not possible ?

We have installed SRM 5.0. The SUS component is integrated with it.
However we are not sure whether SRM and SUS components are communicating to each other ?
Could any one confirm what all settings need to be done to activate SUS . If XI is required what all settings required?

1. Create a link between SAP XI and EBP and SAP XI and SUS
2. If they are on the same client then your life is easy as you need to dot he config only once. This is for activating your proxy.

3. Once you have done this you have to start doing config in the Integration directory for configuring the Interfaces. I did not get any specific guide for this.
Once you go through allt he namespace you will understand which interface is sender and which is receiver and then you can map the same. For you the sender and receiver would be the same as EBP and SUS are on the same client but it still has to go through XI.
What I did with my functional consultant is he used to generate a scenario which obviously goes into error because the Integration directory is not configured. But i would know that whats the Interface name and who is the sender. then I go to the Integration repository wherein most of the Interface are either _in or _out...so when you get an out just search for _in.

Please clarify on the following :
Suppose i have 5 different vendors in EBP in different purchasing organisations.
01. Do I have to create those 5 purchasing organisations in SUS ? to have my EBP vendors in SUS
What is advantage / significance of creating only one purchasing organisation in SUS without assigning any value only by clicking the purchasing organisaction field under function tab ? Is it more equivalent to centralised purchasing organisation ? i.e. having one purchasing organisation without assignment to any company codes.

Hi Rajesh,
SAP assumes that SUS and ROS will be hosted on the same client. Hence this Purch Org on SUS/ROS side is mandatory as the Purchaser who carries out the preselection in SRM needs to be maintained under a Purch Org in SUS/ROS too.
Also if you navigate to SPRO settingsSUSMaster Data--You will see that the entry for Purch Org is mandatory. Hence you will need to maintain this irrespective of whether you use SUS or ROS.

Best Practices for zVM/SLES10/zDB2 environment for dialog instances.

Hi, I am a zSeries system programmer who has just completed an IBM led Proof of Concept which demonstrated the viability of running SAP instances on SUSE SLES10 Linux booted in zVM guests and accessing zDB2 data via hipersockets. Before we build a Linux infrastructure using the 62 IFLs we just procured, we are wondering if any best practices for this environment have been developed as an OSS note or something else by SAP.    Below you will find an email which was sent and responded to by IBM and Novell on these topics...
"As you may know, Home Depot has embarked on an IBM led proof of concept using SUSE SLES10 running in zVM guests on IBM zSeries hardware to host SAP server instances. The Home Depot IT organization is currently in the midst of a large scale push to modernize our merchandising and people systems on SAP platforms. The zVM/SUSE/SAP POC is part of that effort, as is a parallel POC of an Intel Blade/Red Hat/SAP platform. For our production financial systems we now use a pSeries/AIX/SAP platform.
      So far in the zVM/SUSE/SAP POC, we have been able to create four zVM LPARS on IBM z9 hardware, create twelve zVM guests on those LPARS, boot SLES10 in those guests, install and run SAP instances in those guests using hipersockets for access to our DB2 SAP databases running on zOS, and direct user workloads to the SAP instances with good results. We have also successfully developed cloning scripts that have made it possible to create new SLES10 instances, configured and ready for SAP installs, in about 10 seconds using FLASHCOPY and IBM DASD.
      I am writing in the hope that you can direct us to technical resources at IBM/Novell/SAP who may be able to field a few questions that have arisen. In our discussions about optimization of the zVM/SUSE/SAP platform, we wondered if any wisdom about the appropriateness of and support for using zVM capabilities to virtualize SAP has ever been developed or any best practices drafted. As you can see, implementation questions need to be resolved. We have heard from Novell that the SLES10 Kernel and other SUSE artifacts can reside in memory and be shared by multiple operating system images. Does SAP support this configuration? Also, has SAP identified SAP components which are eligible for similar treatment? We would like to make sure that any decisions we make about the SAP platforms we are building will be supportable. Can PR be transferred to SRM without PI in V7.x ?

Hi Jesse,
PR and PO both can be transferred to the SAP ECC backend through RFC and hence PI is not necessary. It is only if you need SRM to connect to non-SAP systems (& SAP systems like SUS), you require PI.
Please set-up an RFC connection in SM59, job(as mentioned by Robin) and the other settings like n umber ranges, transaction types and back-end document types you should be good to go.

Hello Sindry,
It seems that you are using Multiple Customer number functionality within Solution Manager. Please visit the IMG via Transaction SPRO and in the IMG follow the path SAP Solution Manager --> Basic Settings --> Connection to SAP.
Here there is a subsection for Multiple Customer numbers and how to maintain them in Solution manager.
From the logs that you have posted it is clear that a wrong S userid is being used for a wrong customer number or lacks the authorizations to perform the actions.
The first place is the IMG to set things right. Please read the documentation in the IMG carefully and make the changes.
Then ensure that the S users you are using are mapped correctly in AISUSER table with a VALID entry for Customer numbers. eg :
USER                      SAP CUST Number                             SUSER
USER1                     12345                                                 89789
The first column in AISUSER is the username, second is the customer number and third is the S user id.
Then execute the job and check the results. This should resolve the issue.

EXporting and inmporting DT

Hi all,
I am working on PI 7.0,my old system was in XI 2.0 .
i want to use same Data Type structure from 2.0 .for that i need to export XSD file from 2.0 to some folder and again import thgat one to PI 7.0
after i did this process it is giving the following error.
Cannot load schema with the target namespace http://sap.com/xi/SUS to namespace http://MM2MM
Schema to be handled does not contain a definition of type hg
Could anyone help me how to solvethis problem...
