SAP HCM Job Family

Dear all, i would like to ask if anyone has successfully use Job Family in their organisation.
Prior to this, SAP has no concept of JF and Job Functions.
Is JF used only for Succession Planning purpose ?
And also what is it that JF can perform that existing Competency Framework in SAP cannot achieve? We already have qualifications, requirements tieing to position/person etc and profile matchup working fine.
With JF, what are the 'benefits' and challenges when implmenting this ?
appreciate if anyone can share their experience or perceive how JF works for a company.
Thanks for reading !

Hi Peter,
The JF object is part of the Competency Framework. The benefit of using the FN-JF-C-S "structure" is the easy assignment and maintenaince of qualifications. Qualifications can be inherited down this structure. For example, you assign a Qualification to a JF and it is inherited by all Cs in that JF and by all Ss described by those Cs. If you assign a Qualification at the FN (Functional Area) level it will be inherited by all JFs, Cs and Ss etc within that FN.
JFs can also have a relationship with the CP that is called a "Successor Pool". This is similar to a Talent Group, but is specifically for Jobs and/or Positions within the Job Family. It is mainly used for classfying talent.
I hope that helps. If not just holler back.
Best regards,
Luke

  • SAP HCM jobs for freshers

    Hello,
I am Jisul. I was working as an HR generalist for past 6  years with a reputed company. I had to leave my job due to personal reasons in April, 2014. In the meantime, I decided to go for SAP HCM certification as I thought it would be an extension to my domain knowledge. Now that I have completed my  certification and am ready to take up a job, I find that all the jobs listed on portals require SAP implementation experience. I do not have any prior experience in SAP field.
    Please help

    Hi Jisul,
as you are in NCR, and have worked already 6 yrs. , so just ask to your concerns about the company name where SAP HCM has been implemented, please understand one thing that getting a job as an fresher is to tough, so you have to struggle hard in achieving it.
Please update your resume in all leading job portal on regular basis, and send your resume to all local consultancies firm too, because many mid size company hires only through local consultancies.

  • SAP HCM job pricing

hello - can any please confirm whether or not you can select multiple jobs within ONE survey and match to ONE internal job? For example - I have a title "manager" at my compant that matches 4 different titles in my vendor survey. I want to be able to do a match against all of the 4 titles. How can I do this without having to create 4 separate survey files for uploading since it is from one survey?

  • Where to store job descriptions (if possible) in SAP HCM?

    Hi.
My HR managers want to store jobdescriptions in SAP for each jobfamily or even each employee. Is this supported in SAP HCM and if yes, what options do I have to do so. Is there a part of the IMG containing some setup for this or does any of you have some link to any documentation on the subject?
    It would be greatlu appreciated.
    br
    Jesper

    Hi,
You can also check in the IMG, for PA the path is as below
    Personnal administration>Organizational data>Organizational assignement>Organizational plan>define jobs

    Hello Everyone,
I wanted to know the scope of doing SAP HCM/HR Certification.... PLEASE HELP...!!!
I have done B.Tech in computer Science in the year Aug 2012. After that i started my first job with Collabera Inc. as a Technical Recruiter in Jan 2013 at Vadodara (Gujarat) and still working.
I am now looking for a career change and interested in doing SAP HCM/HR Certification.
I would really appreciate if you can guide me through, and suggest me some good institutes which can provide SAP HCM/HR Certification.
Location is not a problem I can relocate anywhere  in INDIA.
    Thank you for support

    Deepak,
Please read some of the posts which can be found at SAP Career Blog Links. Prospects for someone with no experience and just certification are poor, as you will see from the blogs behind the previous link. Please see Advice for Recent College Graduates (aka "Freshers").

  • How to get a job being a fresher in SAP HCM

    Hi.
Can anyone guide me.How can I get the job into SAP HCM Profile.
I am an MBA in Human resource. Along with 8 years of experience into the same HR functions. I have  completed  SAP HCM  training from a local institute in the month of Jan this year. They were suggesting me to go for a fake experience letter to get the job into SAP. Which  I refused to take.Coz I dint find ethically right to go for such thing. I have also uploaded my profile into job portals, where every job demands at least  one end to end implementation  should have done.
I am getting  very impatient as am not getting any relevant job calls as per my profile . Can any one guide me How will I get the job in SAP HCM  Profile.
    Thanks
    Deeksha

    Deeksha,
While more difficult, I applaud you and your integrity to be ethical in the process of looking for that first job.  You are rare, and that should be commended.
This may not be what you are looking for, but do you have any opportunities to take an internship (sometimes at no pay, sometimes at lower pay, and often only for a season)?  This will allow you to get some experience and also get your foot in the door with a company.  From there, you will have an easier time selling yourself.
You have 8 years of experience in HR.  Were you using SAP systems during that time?  Would you be able to start off as a functional analyst or possibly a business analyst while looking for opportunities to take on tasks in the system to get professional experience with SAP HCM, as part of your transition?
These are just some thoughts that might help you.
I wish you well in your endeavors!  Stay strong and keep your integrity!!

if you follow this link you will find under "support" the recruit to retire business processes that cover all aspects of HCM training & certification in the SAP context.
    https://training.sap.com/shop/catalogue/by-business-process

  • SAP HCM Or Oracle HCM Module - Certification

    Hi,
I always wanted to ask the expert before I take a jump on my career, can any one please help me. To give you a little back ground on my profile, before I ask the Golden Question. I am currently not working and have a solid 3 + Years of Exp in Recruitment and post recruitment.
Which is the best certification SAP HCM or Oracle HCM Module?
Can any one answer the above question with lot of data keeping the current MARKET Condition?
I have been asking lot of people on this subject, most of them are not able to give me the proper information. Awaiting your expert advice.
    Warm Regards,
    Zulfikarlos

    Hi,
Go for SAP HCM. Eventhough Oracle is taking over many companies, SAP still prevails.
My suggestion is that, first you try to get a job in your domain. It's better if you join a company who practices SAP. So that, you can have first hand experience on the SAP HCM/HR.
    Then try doing the Certification.
You would have taken certification, if you were a fresher. As such you have 3+ years exp.
Generally for any job opportunity, employer will look for the candidate who is currently working if he is not a fresher.
While you working you can get certification with eLearning. Now so many institutions are offering this. Also, the fees is 50% less.
    All the best.

  • Is SAP HCM training/certification worth taking a risk and money?

I am based in one of the metro cities and have around 5 years of experience in HR-Recruitment field, current working with a big5 consulting firm. I sense a very slow career growth in my field and am planning to go for a SAP HCM certification. I checked with ATOS and they are charging a whopping amount of 4 Laks.
The amount is very high and also I fear of losing my current role. I am unable to decide shall I go ahead with my plan or shall I continue doing my current job.

I was also have 6 years of functional experience before coming into this field. I took a drop of one year, and studied for certification. I was based in a small town where there was just one good company into SAP. So I joined that, gained good knowledge and learned how to deal with the clients. Worked there for 3 years at a low salary (it was quite low. But in metros you have good options, so you might expect more, and this was 4 years back, so that time in small town like Indore, the salary was very low as compared to Indore). Now I am in Mumbai, and earning a very good package. It surely takes time, but within this span of time, your money will be refunded to you. If you get a good branded company, it can be repaid within a year.
So, I would suggest, do try for this, and clear your certification, which will give you added advantage. Do not bother if you get a small company at an initial level. Rather I would suggest to try for a small company first, as you get to learn a lot from there. In MNC, you will have limited scope. But if you go for a small company at an initial level, your learning will be good. But yes, package will be less. I feel at initial stage in SAP career, package should not be the constraint. If you do your work sincerely, and honestly, you definately get paid in future with a good reward.
So I would suggest, do go for the certification. If you cannot afford the classroom training, go for online training (which I had also done), it might be cheaper than the classroom training.
All the best, and do your best.

    Bhagyashree

  • Certification for SAP HCM

    Hi,
I have three years of HR Domain experience and planning to do SAP HCM Certification by OLT
Is this helpful for me to get  job in the industry as a fresher for SAP HCM or my domain experience will count to get Job
    Kindly Guide me...
    Regards,
    Poonam Saini

    hi Poonam ,
From your questions , I can tell u this :
In my view core experience is needed to understand the business process clearly , but at the same time you would have to know how to apply these understanding in SAP .
    for e.g :
In recruitment , you will have vacancies , for which you put ad , then get potential candidates , screen them ,complete levels of interview , finalize the candidate and then Hire them .
so the same thing you will have to do in SAP too , but you would have to know how you would all this in SAP ,so you would need to understand how configuration is done in SAP .
so the bottom line is , you will have to undergo some sort of training in SAP HCM , to start working on it .
let me know if this answers your question .
Please give points if you like this answer .

  • Overview SAP HCM country based infotypes

    Dear all,
I am in search of an overview of all Sap HCM infotypes. Per infotype I need to know whether it is an infotype common to all countries (such as: 000,0001,0002,0003,0006,0007,0008,0009,0014,0015) or a country specific infotype (U.S. Benefits Payroll IT(0496 - 0501)).
Is there anybody willing to share information or (ofcourse preferably) share such a list?
    Thanks in advance!
    Maarten
    (vandermeijde at hotmail.com)

    Hi Marteen,
    Info types like 0000,0001,0002,0003,0004,0005,0006,007,0008,0009,0010.......
all infotypes are commonly used for all countries, but only thing is some countries was not require some infotypes. maintaining of info types entirely depends on Client requirement.
    For example:
Infotype 0021 is maintained only the client want to enter details of the employee's family otherwise we don't maintain it.
    Thanks & Regards

  • SAP HCM Support Function reg

    Hi All
I have 4 Years of Experience in SAP HCM End user support and I also got a job offer for SAP HCM Support from one of the big company.
If I continue my career in SAP Support what will be my future career, whether is there any big career opportunities available in future for Support function.
    Please suggest your views
    Thanks

    I agree with Colleen,
There is a general perception among many that Support project work is degrading, boring, monotonous, non-challenging, lack-of-learning-opportunities etc.
Those who say this, have actually no real work experience or are ignorant of world they live in. A support project is as important as an Implementation or a Roll-out project. Most Implementation and Roll-out projects are a 100m dash to the finish line. No one is bothered whether you flew or limped to the finish-line - as long as you completed the run within a decent timeline. The real challenge of Support project is in fixing a hurriedly set-up system without taking into consideration future performance or sustainability. These points have been discussed many times(even recently).
Even if the above reasons don't excite here's one more. All Implementation/roll-out projects are short term and you'll end up searching for projects within months of beginning one, whereas Support projects are long-term and hence give you more stability and reassurance of steady revenue.
    pk
PS: And this comes from a person who's worked in Implementation/Rollout/Upgrade projects for 70% of his total SAP project experience.
