SAP HR Dashboard/Reporting in BW / BO?

I need you suggestion in our BW HR implementation, like Payroll, Time Mgt, Employee Relations, Learning & Dev etc..
All our reports are currently in SAP BO XI3.1, since we dont have any reports in BW, i am trying to avaluate the PROS and CONS of HR Dashboard Reporting in BO. Is BO tool XCelcius Capable for HR Dashboarding or what is the best Dashbording option for HR,
1) I would like to know how are HR BW Reports handled in BO tools(XCelcius/WebI) in view of HR Time Dependant data.
2) How is BW HR Authorizations handled for Payroll and Training moduled etc.
3) How will BO Dashboard Inherit the Authorization

Hi,
Here are the answer to your queries.
1) I would like to know how are HR BW Reports handled in BO tools(XCelcius/WebI) in view of HR Time Dependant data.Ans:- Time dependent data are handled in BO tools(XCelcius/WebI) in the same way as in BW reports. For, example if Pay Scale Group of an employee changes then same is reflected in the BW report, same in Webi and Xcelcius.
2) How is BW HR Authorizations handled for Payroll and Training moduled etc.Ans:- User should have the authorization for BEx report then only he can access the Webi report based on these BEx reports.
If, you want to see the reaport in Enterprise Portal(EP) then you need to create an iView and include ID of Webi reports in that portal, then add the users who can access these reports.
3) How will BO Dashboard Inherit the AuthorizationAns:- All the Authorizations are inherited automatically.

Prakash

You can leverage the BOE enterprise security and other features if you use Xcelsius.
You can also leverage your existing Universe and use 'QaaWS' - Query as WebService as the connection model and using SSO feature - LDAP or WinAD authentication enable RowLevel  security on the data as well (feature of Universe)
We have done many projects using the Xcelsius, QaaWS with Univers

  • How do I create dashboard report in SAP B1

    Hi ,
Currently I am  using SAP B1 8.81 PL-06 with cockpit enabled. By default we have got in bulit sales Analysis , customer aging and service call reports, but what are the way to create our own dashboard reports. Is there any sources or methods to get Dashboard application ...Please share your views .....
    Thanx
Note : In Widget gallery avaialble in download sdn site not solve the purpose ...

    Hi,
To create your own dashboards you will need Xcelcius, with this you design your dashboard and can insert pretty much any query you need, you then add a Data Connection to retrieve the data from SAP Business One. Then you export it from Xcelcius as an .SWF file (Flash). Then, using the free SAP B1 Utilitiy Dashboard Packager you can then prepare it to be imported into SAP B1. You then import it, assign user permissions and Bobs your uncle.
I have very very much simplified it there, but there are plenty of examples on how to do this out there, happy to email you a couple if you wish, but you do need Xcelcius to create the dashboards to begin with.
Welcome to the small group that can design the dashboards (myself included) and welcome to all the headaches you are going to get with the B1 Integration Service and Event Sender disaster !
If I can help please let me know
    Regards

  • CRM Web UI - Authorisation error for Dashboard report

    Hello
I am accessing CRM specific BI reports on CRM Web UI for areas like Lead Analysis, Marketing and Campaign Analysis etc, and most of the reports are working fine. But when I try to access a dashboard report (I am not really sure if it is called daashboard report beside the report name- it gives me an Authorisation error saying that the 'User does not have proper authorisations'.
I have tried by assigning the role SAP_CRM_OR_USER suggested by a colleague, but even then I get the same error. Our Basis team does not have an idea on the exact role to be used.
Could anyone of you please tell me the exact role to be used in order to see those report on Web UI. Thanks.

    Hi Sven
I have tried that option of the transaction ORDYWB to activate the reports (this was also suggested in a SAP note i.e. to create a Z report and the code for which was given in the SAP note and upon executing the report, it showed a number of activities which have to be performed and had to implement those activities one by one). But in that transaction all the reports and InfoTypes are active with status 'OK'
If you could give me the exact role which you have used for those reports, I will give it a shot. Also, in the CRM Web UI, I am unable to see the technical name of the report of the interactive report (dash board report?). If the report was executing in the CRM Web UI, we could see the technical name of the report, but for the non-executing reports, could you please tell me how to see the technical name?
I have raised this to SAP and looks like even they are having a hard time finding the solution. Thanks.

  • Dashboard report on mobile

    Hi Experts,
I was created one dashboard report on Sales data ,It was saved on mobile platform and it is working fine,i have seen that report on mobile device. As well now i have been export that report in to html.So can you please tell me is there any possibility to get that exported html report into mobile device.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Hityshi Gullipalli.

    Hi Hityshi,
For any of these options to be available you must have an environment at least a BI 4.0 SP5 and your Dashboard client must also BI4.0 SP5 or higher. Any version of BI 4.1 will also work.
You can find all the information about deploying and using the Mobile platform in this guide:
    http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/sbo41/en/518_mobiOS_admin_en.pdf
From page 319 in the following guide you will find information specifically about using Dashboards on mobile devices with the SAP BI app.

    Beat Honegger

No direct way.  But I had a similar requirement.  Our team updates a central spreadsheet and our managers wanted to have a dashboard to reflect information entered on it.  I ended up writing a VBA Macro using an XSD schema to use Excel XML Maps to export the spreadsheet data to .XML at the click of a button.
Then, in an Xcelsius model, I imported that same Excel XML Mapping .XSD schema into my model, and pointed it to the location of the exported XML file to then have "live" data whenever the source Excel file was saved.  It seems an around the world way to get to Excel data (albeit in a separate file), seeing as the tool was originally written with Excel being the central focus.
There's also a more lengthly route to do it, but treating the Excel file as an ODBC source for a Crystal Report which Live Office will recognize which you can then use as a connection to Xcelsius, but that seemed even more painful for our purposes but in theory works.

  • Dashboard Reports in B1

    Hi All,
My client is asking dashboard reports, they need it in all the project managers desktop. The report should be in flash technology.
           Please help me anyone...

    Hi,
    1.       Navigate to this link...
          https://websmp110.sap-ag.de/smb/sbocustomer
          It needs s user id...
If you entered into this link, you can find Solutions in link, click that solution detail --> SAP B1 2007 -->  XL Reporter --> Sample report for 2007 B ---> Dashboard
You will get one XL Reporter file, open that file with xl reporter, customize the things you need to see in dashboards in XL Reporter.
    2.  If you need in flash technology means you need to use Xcelsius Report Designer.
Open One Excel file, create external query with SAP B1 data base, then connect that Ecel file to Xcelsius, Desing the xcelsius sheet as per the customer's requirements. Then convert it into PDF format.
Now you need to place this PDF file in all client's system.
So all can able to see the data wat they want as like as dashboards.
This xcelsius dashboard  will look like a flash animation.

  • Unable to View Data in OOTB OBIEE11g Dashboards/Reports

    Hi,
We have installed OBIEE 11.1.1.6.0. BIAPPS, Informatica and DAC for the implementation of Oracle Business Intelligence Application 7.9.6.3 in Windows 2008 Server.
Also completed the basic configuration of Oracle BI Repository Connections, Informatica server and Client configuration Steps and DAC configuration Steps.
When tried to view the OOTB Dashboards in OBIEE, the reports are throwing following errors. Please suggest us a resolution to make sure the OOTB Dashboards/Reports are up and running
Is there anything we need to do in the backend Database or something dealing with Full load using Informatica and DAC ?
The error shows that there is table or view missing/does not exist and do we need to dump the OOTB metadata(I am not sure) to Database so that the DB will have the tables ? If yes, please suggest me the process for achieving this ?
When tried to view the data and update the row count for a table in physical layer of the OOTB RPD, we are getting the same below message.
We just wanted to first view the data for the OOTB Dashboards/Reports and then proceed further with actual developmental activities involving the customizations and so on.
What configurations we need to re-check?
The reports are throwing following TNS Error:
Error Codes: OPR4ONWY:U9IM8TAC:OI2DL65P State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 43113] Message returned from OBIS. [nQSError: 43119] Query Failed: [nQSError: 17001] Oracle Error code: 942, message: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist at OCI call OCIStmtExecute. [nQSError: 17010] SQL statement preparation failed. (HY000)

Looks like RPD connection pool is not pointing to Warehouse database.
    For any connection issues
    1. Copy your tnsnames.ora to {Oracle_BI1}\network\admin directory & {oracle_common}\network\admin directory (only the former is needed as that is the ORACLE_HOME)
    2. Or instead of tnsnames.ora source entry, use the full expanded tnsnames as shown below
    (DESCRIPTION =(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 172.16.66.173)(PORT = 1521))(CONNECT_DATA =(SERVER = DEDICATED)(SERVICE_NAME = orcl)))
    OR
    Call Interface: Default (OCI 10g/11g)
    Data source Name->localhost:1521/XE

  • Benefits of SAP Business Warehouse Reporting compared with the Query-tools?

    Hello experts,
I've been creating reports with SAP Query tools, but been faced with few problems. First of all, there are restricted possibilities in terms of joining tables, and thus I cannot include all the data required for the report.
One solution for this would have been to create separate queries and join the data together in Excel. The problem with this is that there exists no common field that would make sense as for a selection criterion. If the selection criterion is different in different queries, there is the danger of combining false data together, which would eventually result with distorted data.
So I was wondering, could anyone briefly tell me if SAP Business Warehouse reporting would solve these problems? And what other benefits would it provide compared with the SAP Query? I'd urgently need to know if it would be a beneficial investment for the company, since I haven't found solutions for the problems occurred in the creation of reports.
Thank you in advance for you help!
    Maria

The answers are yes - and thousands of companies have gone down this route
Puttingin BW is a strategic aim of the comapny and not to be thought about and discussed in a BI forum such as this
The costs of implementation and hardware will no doubt make your eyes water.
To be quite honest SAP BI is a "no brainer" as most of the new e-SOA and new R3 modules reply on BW for their reporting needs
