SAP HR Interface for Organizational Charting (HR-OCI) 6.0

Do you need to have a SAP portal to use HR-OCI 6.0?  Do you also need to use ESS or MSS?  We are on SAP ECC 6.0.  We currently don't have a SAP portal, but we are looking into using HR-OCI to extract the Organizational Chart for a third party vendor.  Is this still possible?
Thanks,
  Mark

  • Interface for Procurement Using Catalogs (OCI)

    Hello all,
I like to have a lot of explications for this cutomizing for a flow PM.I would like call a catalog if I create order PM never pass to EBP sytem.
If I finish this customizing Interface for <b>Procurement</b> <b>Using Catalogs (OCI)</b> in R/3 system who R/3 taking all informations for a catalog when a order PM has been created.
There is a button to use a catalog if a transaction IW31 or IW32 has been executed or not?
    This version SAP is ECC5.
    Thanks for your response.

    Hi Mady,
here are high level steps for PM/OCI:
    - SPRO: Maintenance and Service Orders -> Interface for Procurement Using Catalogs (OCI) --> Define Catalogs
    - SPRO: Maintenance and Service Orders -> Interface for Procurement Using Catalogs (OCI) --> Assign Catalog to Order Type
As of SAP ECC 5.00, PLM Extension (EA_PLM 500), you can call up an external catalog in a maintenance order or service order, a maintenance task list or a network, and copy services from this catalog into the order or task list or network.
You also now have the option of storing multiple catalogs for each of the following criteria:
    - Order type and planning plant
    - Task list category and plant
    - Network type and plant
If all this customizing is OK, a little "Catalog" button will appear in maintenance or service order transaction.

    Hi Eswara,
There are transaction Code for viewing the Product Hierarchy and Category.
The Transaction Code is <b>COMM_HIERARCHY</b>. You can find the details of the entire product in the following navigation details.

  • SAP PI Interface for Multiple Bapi

    hi,
i need to expose 2 Bapi (Bapi A and Bapi B) using SAP PI 7.0 using single PI Interface / webservice.
    3rd party --> SAP PI -->SAP ECC6.
for first option, i can create new Bapi C and include Bapi A & B new Bapi C.  then only expose BAPI C in SAP PI.
for 2nd Option, i want to import BAPI A & B into SAP PI and used SAP PI capability to run BAPI A & B in sequence.
if i want to go for 2nd option (just use existing BAPI A & B), how to implement the steps to make the bapi can execute in sequence? any link tutorial wil be help me a lot.

    Hi Hashim,
try to implement Stefan approach or even you can try below appraoch,
call BAPI A using SAP PI, then cal BAPI B within BAPI A logic, here you need to import only BAPI A in to PI system.
better to take help from ABAPer, he will help you on the same.

  • Pros & Cons of Using SAP PI Interfaces for Report Generation

    Hi Guru's
    I have a Scenario's like
I have to generate a customized report in SAP with the main data's available in SAP ECC and some required data available in the Legacy System.
I want to know the Pros & cons of using SAP PI RFC/Proxy adapter interface to get the data from the legacy system for each time the user execute the report in SAP ECC.
    Thanks in Advance

There are couple of "dimensions" to consider in your PI interface design. For exemple when you are running the sizing exercise (Since we are considering adding a net new interface), you will need to capture specific information about new interface.i.e. S/A, adapters, frequency, avg payload size. etc..Note that the last two attributes will be hard to size properly in this case since you can't predict how frequent the end user will run the report which will impact the latency time required to pull the data. Latency will affect the user experience as visible side affect and definitely the SLA for other interfaces running at the same time.
On the other hand, the data you are trying to retrieve from the legacy won't be used for transactional purpose but for the end user to pull KPIs from the system which can affect ECC as well. You may end up doing lot hot fixes for your report (Assuming that the report is a medium complexity code)
There are other factors to consider but let's consider these are the major one.
    Cheers,
    F

  • Interface Project System to Catalog OCI

I am trying to implement SciQuest within Project Systems SPRO >  Project Systems > Material > Interface for Procurement Using Catalog (OCI) and I am difficulty navigating around SciQuest site.  The actual punch out works but when I click on 'Add to Cart' an IE session opens.  Has anyone experienced this type of behavior in other catalogs?  Is there certain configuration that the vendor (e.g. SciQuest) has to adhere to since this is done directly in R/3.  I am familiar with SAP SRM which is web based and this just works, however, when I do this in R/3 it is acting as if it was web based as is not.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Kind Regards,
    Sabina McLaughlin

I haven't worked/implemented OCI but your post made me to search some resources on this.
Found few OSS  (mentioned below) notes related to Catalog connection and hope this provides you with some leads.

I think you misunderstood the question , I actually clarify that there is no graphical tool available in 6i so please help in regarding sql query..
hope u understand nowA SQL query can produce tabular output, for example:
    indented_postition
    CEO
        Manager X
            Asst. Manager (a)
            Asst. Manager (b)
        Manager Y
            Asst. Manager (c)
Asst. Manager (d)Depending on your data, you can use CONNECT BY, as Kanish suggested, to get results like this.
If you'd like help, post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements), and the results you want from that data.
Explain how you get those reulsts from that data.
Always say what that version or Oracle you're using.
You may have noticed that this site normally doesn't display multiple spaces in a row. Whenever you post formatted text (such as query results) on this site, type these 6 characters:
\(small letters only, inside curly brackets) before and after each section of formatted text, to preserve spacing.

  • Organizational Chart in SAP

    Dear Experts,
Can we have an organizational chart like shown below in SAP? I know in SAP we have it in tree form, but my client wants specifically in below format. Is it possible?
This is just an example I am showing, not the exact format. But is this kind of scenario possible in SAP?
    Please reply.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Bhagyashree

Yes, there are some standard reports that let you visualise the organisational structure.
There is a tool called Human Resources Information System (or HIS) that can be accessed via transaction PPIS. The first time you access the transaction, it will ask you which plan version you want to use - usually this is 01 (although it may be different in your business). Use the search help to find the top-level organisational unit you wish to report on, and use the radio buttons to select whether you also want to display positions and/or employees. Click the execute button and it will generate a very basic org structure. There are some screenshots on this page as an example: http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-35373
Alternatively, if you use Manager Self-Service then the latest version has a basic org chart view. It's basically a very simple version of the Nakisa org chart, but you don't have to pay any additional licensing costs. It's in the MSS Team View application, the help page for this is here: http://help.sap.com/erp_hcm_ias_2013_02/helpdata/en/a2/063081c4c34b07b727ff4ad2b76101/content.htm

  • What is SAP's strategy for XSI (Express Shipping Interface)?

We are investigating if we can use SAP XSI for parcel tracking with DHL. We like the idea of having an integrated tracking solution that we can call from SO, PO, delivery note and shipment. However, I found information on the internet related to XSI versus UPS telling me UPS is no longer supporting new implementations of SAP. Does somebody know why they stopped supporting XSI? See URL below for all details:
    http://sap.ittoolbox.com/groups/technical-functional/sap-log-sd/vtrc-xsi-and-interface-into-ups-3265707
According to this discussion XSI is not the direction SAP is going with transportation in the future. Event Management is the solution for tracking. Their recommendation is to use XML API's from carriers instead like e.g. TrackIT from DHL? Does somebody know whether this information is reliable or not?
Does somebody have information about SAP's strategy for XSI ? Is it worthwhile spending time on configuring XSI for DHL tracking or does somebody have better or other options?
We are aiming for as less custom changes as possible.
    kind regards,
    Angelique Heutinck

  • Using "Save for Web & Devices" for a Organization Chart with Text

I created a document in CS3 Illustrator that is an Organization Chart. It contains rectangles, lines, and text. It looks great in Illustrator.
I have tried to save it using "Save for Web & Devices" to create a JPEG and a GIF so that I can pop it into a Dreamweaver document as an image and it keeps coming out blurry.
I have tried changing its size and resolution. I have tried opening and exporting it into Photoshop to try to "clean" it up. Nothing seems to be working.
I'm obviously unlettered in this modus operandi!
    meem

    Thanks for the response.
The background is transparent and will end up on a white background eventually.
I tried to make it clear in Dreamweaver by scaling it and it did seem to improve it somewhat. But it still doesn't look like the clear copy in Illustrator that I started with...
I also need to be able to embed this in a Word document to print for a hardcopy manual.
I had this same problem with Freehand a few years ago.

  • Best Organizational Chart Software for the Mac

Any suggestions for the best org chart software for the Mac?

I dunno, there aren't really any screen shots or concrete descriptions on the Evernote site, and I've never used it, but from looking at a video on their site, I'm not sure it would qualify for creating organizational charts. If Fred is looking for something that creates stuff like flow charts and the like, he may have better luck with OmniGraffle. Whether this is available on the Mac App Store, I don't know... but if not, don't bother with the Mac App Store and just download from the web site:
