I am looking for SAP Netweaver based offline time entry(SAP HR)
Is there any SAP provides any solution for offline timer entry.
It should be used for offline time entry(SAP HR) from desktop, laptop and mobile phone like iPhone and blackbarry

OTL Offline Time Entry

Hi there,
I have a requirement where we need to allow some administrators to enter hours and costing information for a number of employees into a spreadsheet and then for these to be uploaded into OTL. Is there any seeded functionality which will allow this? Such as disconnected entry for a number of employees via one spreadsheet or does this need to be performed via a customization?
If anyone has done this then any advice would be very greatly appreciated.

Also make sure that preference "Disconnected Entry (Self Service disconnected entry option for worker)" is set to import/export for Import Timecard button to be enabled on Timecard list page. This same preference will enable export of Timecard on the templates page.

Creation of HR master record For a user when a time entry role is added

Hi,
Description summary:Automating creation of HR master record For a user when a time entry role is added to a user account
Description detail:When time entry role is provisioned to a user account,the HR master record is linked,It is compleated after a user is created because a user id must exist .
It is part of the record.In addition the user must be hired into SAP in order for the HR Master Record to Appear in SAP.
What we need to do is when a 'Time and Personal Data Maintainer Role "is Added by the VIRSA_ADMIN user,automate the creation of the HR Master Record.
Transaction code :SU01 to add the role to the Account.
How to Create the User Exists For this RequestIts very urgent pls help me on this.

Why do you need a User Exit? You can create a BDC on PA40 & kick it off upon adding the role..

Last time entry for a project

Hi,
I have to get the last time entry of each project.
I am using the below logic.
Join PROJ and PRPS table to get the list of WBS elements for all projects.
for each of the projects, get the latest work date from CATSDB .
But CATSDB table has 3 crores entries in QA.
above logic is taking 2 hours to execute.
Please suggest any better logic for the same.

Hi Kiran,
Are you doing a SAP Query or are you writing an ABAP program? Consider using logical database PSJ (display using transaction SE36) - this already joins PROJ and PRPS for you...then look at joining with the CATSDB table.

Multiple time entry profile in ESS

Hi ,
We are implementing ESS on ECC6.0 and EP7.0.
In R/3 side we have multiple time sheet entry profiles, how can we implement the time sheet entry scenario in portal which allows multiple entry profiles because as per my understanding ESS user in portal would only be having ESS profile assigned to them.
Please let me know if we can have multimple profile implemented in portal.

In the old versions of the ESS business package (ITS based), we had the flexibilty to use more than one Time Entry profiles.
AFAIK, you might not be able to use more than one Time Entry Profile with the new versions of ESS BP (Webdynpro based). The application picks up the "CVR" parameter of the user. (Default profile is SAP).

Posting of Time Entries cancelled in the current accounting period

Dear All,
We are using Cross Application Time Sheet transaction codes for Entering Employee wise labour times using CAT2 transaction code for Networks under Projects and Orders under customer service for entering labour times. My question is how to do cancellation of time entries in the current accounting period for the actual time entries done in the previous quarter, as presently system is posting the cancelled date as the date when it was originally posted through CAT5 and CAT9.

The CADE transaction code is to delete the timesheet transaction. SAP cautions us not to use this
transaction in productive system as it directly updates the related tables and also when i checked the
same in PRD Client system asks for System Administrator rights which are generally not available to consultants other than the Basis team.
I just want to know how to cancel the already posted transaction in the current accounting period?

Authorization for Time Entry on Cost Center Level

Hi Experts,
Would like to know, if we can do authorisation for time entry on the base of cost center. For example, an employee worked for 8 hrs and out of that 2 hrs worked for different cost center. That 2 hrs should be approve by Manager of that cost center and 6 hrs from his current cost center.
I thought of Structural Authorisation but not sure how it will work. I would appreciate prompt response on the same.

Actually, I noticed that you had cross-posted this thread to the HCM forum. Normally, we move threads to other forums which are more appropriate, and often lock cross-posting. This is one of those grey areas between technical and functional, so I turned a blind eye on it.
I am hoping that there will be a functionality to mirror good questions to other related forums without having to cross-post. This would be very usefull for sure but the question would have to be good and the person who asked it would have to have a good track record of respecting [the rules|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/home/rulesofEngagement]. Most likely moderators would be the only ones to "mirror" good questions, unless they contain words such as "urgent" or "ASAP" or "prompt" or "points will be rewarded", etc...

RoadMap does not return the selected step on ESS 600 Record Time entry

RoadMap does not return the selected step on Record Time entry application in ESS. Is it suppose to behave similar way or is it suppose to take user to the selected step. If yes , then is there a setting or customization that i have to take care of, as its a standard SAP delivered ESS Record working time application.

Hiding custom column in Weekly view of the Time Entry in ESS

We have added a custom field to time entry (CAT2). This field is displaying in both (weekly and daily) view of the time entry screen in ESS. Our requirement is too display the field only in daily view.
Is there a way to hide the custom column in the weekly view of the time sheet in ESS?

well it would require modification to the iview , it wont be a easy quickfix cause you lauch the iview it is built using CAC2 field customisation
you can explore Personalisation for the daily view hope it can work!
