SAP HR Renewal 1.0 Activation

Dear Team,
We are planning to implement HR Renewal 1.0 on EHP 6.0.
I would like to know from your experience that if there will be any impact on existing ABAP/Java Applications if we activate HR REnewal 1.0 switch.
Please do share you views so that we can proceed accordingly.
BR,
Param

Generally speaking if you run old product versions you are not recommended to switch ON new business functions unless you plan to use the new business functions associated with these product versions - customers can implement EA_HR 607 and run certain switches unswitched if they want to continue to use the previous functionality
Also its not possible to predict all possible issues - especially in customer landscapes - this must still be tested throughly by the customer
Which switch are you planning to activate ?
Which ABAP or JAVA applications are you running - pls provide examples, SAP version and any assocaited swtiches already activated currently

  • Com.sap.aii.util.server.auth.activation

I am trying to set up a Role that can limit XI IR Developers. For some reason I do not see the property com.sap.aii.util.server.auth.activation in my Exchange Profile. One of the steps says to set this to true. I am on XI 3.0 SP15.
Is this property required or not?
    Any help is appreciated.
    Regards
    Mike

    Hi Michael,
yes this property is required. If it is not available within your Exchange Profile yet, you can add it by using the button Create Property. After that you need to restart the J2EE instance.
Most Exchange Profile properties are added during installation but some might need to be created later on.

  • Restart of SAP after Renewal of SNC certificates

    Hi All,
Can some body help me on the below Question.
After renewal of SNC certificates, do we really require restart of SAP (CI & App servers) or is there any other way via online activity which we can do this with our restarting( no downtime)
    Thanks
    Raj

    Hello,
If you use the CommonCryptoLib or Secure Login Library 2.0 as SNC library on the server and you manage your PSEs with STRUST, you do not have to restart the server for a PSE update.

  • Creative Cloud- Renewing License with Activation Code

Creative Cloud is telling me that my license needs to be renewed. I renewed it a week ago. I have  MacBook Pro and I have redeemed my activation code for creative cloud already, but nothing seems to recognize that. Not the application on my commuter or the website. I tried to redeem my redemption code but the message that pops up says "Ooop! that redemption code has already been activated!" Which is clearly not the case.

  • SAP R/3 Authentication with Active Directory on Win2k server.

    Hello list ,
We are running SAP R/3 4.7 with WebAS 6.2 on Solaris and a Windows 2000 Active Directory domain. Our users access SAP in 3 ways
    1) SAP GUI .
    2) SAP BW
    3) Travel & Expense - a java application that records users travel details and posts a transaction to SAP using the SAP userid and password.
Wish to implement SSO for all our users.
Some research we have done suggests
    1) Using Kerberos for authentication. while it appears that microsoft krb 5 implementation will work only on windows servers, it is not clear how well are other krb implementations supported by SAP. OSS note # 150380 and link http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/44/0ebf6c9b2b0d1ae10000000a114a6b/content.htm
    2) OSS note # 352295 suggest there could be some issue using KRB 5 shipped with unixes.
"All of the major Unix vendors seem to be shipping a version of Kerberos 5 these days. These implementations should be wire-interoperable with each other and with Microsoft W2K (not necessarily W2K3!), however they may not be interoperable with SAP's shared library interface to GSS-API v2 mechanisms."
    3) There are some commercial solutions like - CyberSafe that provides krb based SSO at a fee. Has anyone tried this software ?
I have created an OSS ticket but we are still in a queue since 5 days already.
Has any one from the list implemented a similar solution ? What are the best practices and way to go for a robust solution.
    4) Another option that we have is to start with user synchronization. Where in Users created in Active Directory get synchronized with SAP .
What is mandatory for us is that Users marked disabled in Active Directory should be blocked in SAP by synchronizing user information at regular interval. If anyone has implemented this solution I will appreciate if they give me some pointers.
    Thanks in advance.
    Harsh Busa

    Tim,
you are perfectly right: that Vintela product is not certified (as SNC solution).
But you are not quite right regarding the separate treatment. The major difference between that product and the SNC certified products (such as CyberSafe, Entrust, ...) is: Vintela uses different SNC libraries on the client side (=> our Windows SSPI wrappers, see <a href="http://service.sap.com/~iron/fm/011000358700000431401997E/352295">SAP note 352295</a>) and the server side (=> their own SNC library, not certified). And that is actually also one reason why that solution cannot be certified ...
Well, those Windows SSPI wrappers provided by SAP (=> gsskrb5.dll, for example) are also not "SNC certified", but SAP provides support (being in contact with Microsoft). Well, as some people might know, there are also some interoperability issues between different Microsoft OS versions ... - resulting in reactive patches of our SSPI wrappers.
I really do <u>not</u> want to promote <u>any</u> product - neither the one of Quest Software Inc., nor the one of <a href="http://www.cybersafe.ltd.uk/">CyberSafe Ltd</a>, nor <a href="http://www.entrust.com">Entrust Inc.</a>, nor <a href="http://www.secude.com/">SECUDE IT Security GmbH</a>, nor ...
I do not even want to disencourage anyone from implementing his own Kerberos-based solution (or any other solution which provides an GSS API), provided that this person is able to help himself. Reason: if products of different vendors are used and interoperability problems occur the usual finger-pointing will start. In the end you'll not get support by anyone ... - as long as you are aware of this (and capable of helping yourself) you can go ahead. Some (known) universities are belonging to that group ... - but it might not be appropriete to the vast majority of customers.

  • SAP User Authentication via Windows Active Directory

The non-profit company I work for as an SAP Security Admin has been using SAP since 1999.  We are currently running ECC 6.0, BI 7.0, and CRM 7.0.  With fewer than 300 SAP users, we have not implemented CUA, so each of our multiple clients in these systems is managed independently.
The company recently licensed and implemented some non-SAP software to be used by all of our employees (~1200) in keeping track of & catagorizing their work time; a very handy feature of this software is that it depends upon Windows Active Directory for user authentication.  Therefore, each employee logs into this time-keeping package by entering his/her standard PC userID & password.  If you can log onto your PC, you can log into the time-keeping software.
That got me thinking & researching, because our SAP users - especially those who have access to three or more SAP clients - must maintain their passwords independently in each SAP client that they hope to access in the future.  I'm certainly not the first person who has thought of how nice it would be to permit SAP users to log into all SAP clients across the landscape in which they have defined userIDs, using the same password that they are using to log into their PCs (i.e., the password that is stored & maintained in Windows Active Directory).  My quest has led me to find presentations on this topic that typically involve modules we aren't using & very complicated configurations that we really lack the time & resources to employ; or, to third-party solution providers who claim to be certified SAP partners who would love to sell us more software to provide this convenience, usually irelated to single sign-on, LDAP, etc.  The lowest pricing tier for such software usually would cover many times the number of SAP users we have to serve here - and it feels like trying to push in a tack using a sledgehammer.  It is true that we have not used the same userID for our PCs that we have defined in SAP, so there would need to be some way to translate from one to the other, but our PC password rules are consistent with those we have configured in SAP clients, so it seems to me it should be very simple.   Can anyone lead me to a more straightforward solution?  If not, can you articulate why this has to be so complicated using SAP software when it seems so simple using relatively inexpensive timekeeping sotware?

Once installed, yes. This is all you need to maintain when users are added. You can even use LDAP if you like to sync all user info between SAP and MS AD domain, but this cannot sync the password, so using SNC authentication instead of using SAP passwords is ideal.
    >
    > So for user test1 i can manage name as p:test2.....  ??
Yes, that is correct. The mapping is maintained using standard SAP user management, such as su01. The user in AD domain might have long account name, e.g. "firstname.verylonglastname" which is too big for use as a SAP username so you can map this long AD account name onto a SAP user called FIRSTLAST in one or more SAP clients.

    please help
    regards
    renu

    Hi Experts,
I had a similar requirement and I used S_PH9_46000223 Report for my need as suggested.
    I observed one thing.
"If I give Selection Date as "Today" then the entry date column is 00.00.0000"
Can anyone clarify my doubt? it is happening in same way for other similar standard reports as well.
    Doubts
    1) Why this is happening
    2) Is it happening as it should? Whats the reason
    3) is there any functional/technical way to correct or modify

  • SAP ISU BP Contact - CRM Activity - CRM IC Interaction record

    Hi   All -
I have a cookbook which talks about migrating SAP ISU BP Contacts into CRM Activity.
Now, my question is if I do this, will this show up as a interaction record against the customer in the IC WebClient in CRM?
We are considering a design where billing supervisors will enter a BP Contact in ISU when customers directly call them about a bill.  Later, if this customer calls the Cust Service Rep, we want this interaction to be visible to the CSR who will only use the CRM Webclient.
So, I guess indirectly my question is,
"Is a CRM Activity the same as an CRM WebClient Interaction record"?
    or
"Is a CRM WebClient Interaction record a type of CRM Activity"?
Thanks in advance for taking your time to answer this.
    Regards,
    Pradhip.S

    Hello Pradhip,
the CRM IC Interaction Record is technically a CRM Activity with a certain transaction type. You can configure the replication of IS-U Contacts that the created activity is shown in the Interaction Center as Interaction Record. So you will be able to see the IS-U Contacts created in ERP - for example within a Front Office Process - in CRM as replicated Interaction Records.
    Kind regards,
    Christian

  • SAP Management of Global Employee- activation switch disabled

    Hi all,
In order to activate SAP GE, I find the node "Activate GE" is all grayed out. Then I tried to access and activate it from T77S0 but it's also grayed out in the table.
This is the situation while holding SAP_ALL profile.
Any clues anyone how to enable the activate field in IMG or in Table T77S0?
    Regards.

    Thanks Wrens and Sreenu,
It works and changes the status of MGE to activate... but this still does not release the infotypes (700 series for GE ie 702, 703, 706, 715 etc with others). This is the situation after activating switches CCURE MAINS and CCURE GLEMP.
    The message displayed is:
"You attempted to access infotype &1. According to the system settings, however, it is not permitted to use this infotype."
    Any clues on this restriction.
    Regards.

  • SAP in its own Extra Active Directory Domain

Our SAP system was installed on Windows in a separate, dedicated AD domain.
    The SAP installation manual states:
"In Windows, the SAP domain and user domain must be incorporated in a domain tree.  In this tree, the user accounts must form the root domain and the SAP domain must be a child domain of this."
I recently discovered that this was never done.  The SAP domain and the user domain are completely separate.  Further, there are no trust relationships between the two domains at all.
The network administrator is now concerned about how to implement this after the fact.
Can anyone provide information as to the steps required to accomplish what the installation manual states and how the domain structure needs to look?
    Thanks and kind regards,
    Rex L. Farris

But for the security, the rights are normally given to the group SAP_Localadmin so if you ensure that membership is right, the security should be fine.
There are pros and cons for the different approaches and really depends how comfortable the basis team are with SAP.  The system copy is documented and if I were to follow that route, then I would probably rename the source system and change the IP address - then the target system could use the original hostname and IP address which saves having to adapt RFC destinations and users/systems should be able to access the server without making changes elsewhere.
One thing that I missed off the post was to ask what the DB is.  For the domain switch there are different actions needed for MSSQL and Oracle.
For Oracle you've got the OPS$Domain\SAPServiceSID user (and associated SIDadm user) that you'd need to create, assign roles, synonyms for SAPUser table etc.  Couple of scripts available from SAP that sort that out fairy easily but nonetheless one of the things that I missed.
MSSQL will need to have accounts for the new domain users also and set their default database etc.
Whilst I didn't use AD for my printers, I did use SSO from users in one domain to logon to SAP in another domain and they were both top level AD domains - I just put a trust in.  Perhaps implementing a trust would just save a lot of hassle?
