SAP HR to ISH Med.
I am an Sap hr consultant and i am looking to expand my skills and become ish consultant. Can anyone please let me know how to go about it...
Hi Amith,
the healthcare solution on the SAP platform consists of three parts:
SAP Patient Management
SAP Ambulatory Care Management
i.s.h.med Clinical System
i.s.h.med is developed by Siemens. However, i.s.h.med is closely integrated with the two components developed by SAP and it is delivered and installed the same way as the ERP standard software.
For getting started, I recommend having a look at the main pages of the [online documentation|http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_05/helpdata/en/2e/109e377af82a17e10000009b38f842/frameset.htm] as well as at the [marketing material|http://www.medical.siemens.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplayq_catalogIde_-11a_categoryIde_1026616a_catTreee_1008631,1026620,1026619,1026616a_langIde_-11a_storeIde_10001.htm] on the Siemens web page. This [wiki page |http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/HC/Healthcare+Home] is also helpful.
There are some basic modules you definitely need to learn first, such as the Clinical Workstation (TA NWP1) which is central and the Patient maintanance (TA NV2000). Then I would recommend to specialize in a handful of modules. Being able to handle the whole healthcare solution will take some time ;-).
Have fun! Kind regards, sERPentine

Buttons in Microsoft Word disabled
I'm working with a MS wordcontainer integrated in the SAP IS-H/ISH-MED module and was wondering how to enable toolbar buttons in MS word when calling the wordcontainer. It seems that the toolbar buttons like 'SAVE' and 'PRINT PREVIEW' are enabled when working with MS Word 2007, but in MS Word 2003 they aren't. This might be something I can influence through ABAP but it also might have to do something with Visual Basic. Anyone any ideas?
Hi,
you must modify the word template which is linking in SAP. -
Planning grid and Windows Vista
I am currently working with the ISH Med planning grid on the network of a client.
The client is working with Windows XP and on there the planning grid works OK.
However, I work on a computer with Windows Vista on their network. I am not able to install te planning grid on my laptop.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem, without changing any settings settings that might influence the network of my client?
Thank you in advancehi elvier,
I didn't answer this posting earlier because it is so unspecific. now that it is brought to my attention again, here a short note:
Testing the planning grid under vista as well as other customers experiences don't show any problems using the planning grid on vista.
You just have to follow general SAP guidelines (notes) as well as have access rights to your system under control according to vista standards and everything is supposed to work fine.
In case it doesn't, describe ypour problem in more detail and/or open a customer message as proposed by claudius.

SAP IS-H and SAP IS-H Med Training
Can anyone let me know where I can get SAP IS-H and SAP IS-H Med Training? Thanks.
Kishanhi,
well, SAP makes it a bit difficult to spot a specific training offer, but you may want to start here for [ISH trainings|http://www.sap.com/industries/healthcare/index.epx].
for i.s.h.med trainings you may want to have a look at the [i.s.h.med site|http://www.ishmed.de/en/html/service/trainings.html].
in any case, I think you will have to go to Europe to attend either course.

Hi,
Can you please let me know the duration, cost, and the location where IS-H* Med is offered. Thank you.
Regards
Rajeshhi,
you might want to have a look at the [i.s.h.med site|http://www.ishmed.de/en/html/service/trainings.html]'s training offers, where most of your questions will be answered. I can't supply you the prices, I think they are subject to negotiations. I guess you are welcome to contact the organizers of that trainings at the email address given there.

SAP GUI 7.30 PL4 - Uninstall does not work - Why?
Hi all,
I have a properly installed SAP GUI 7.30 version with the package called "PEACY" which includes the following components:
SAP GUI for Windows 7.30 (Compilation 2)
Engineering Client Viewer 7.0
KW Add-On for SAP GUI 7.30
i.s.h.med Planning Grid
Business Explorer
Now I am trying to do a uninstall with the following command-line:
'"C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP\SapSetup\Setup\NWSapSetup.exe" /Silent /Uninstall /Package=PEACY'
The uninstall runs 4.193 seconds, ends with Return-Code: 0, but all the above mentioned components are still installed. Is there any clue why the components did not get uninstalled?
You can find the whole NwSapSetup.log attached.
Thanks in advance!

BODS : Datastore options for SAP R/3 - need clarity for use
Hi All.
Another request to understand the datastore optiono n BOXI 3.1 BODS existing installation.
We are trying to pull a new table from SAP R/3 into BODS and we find that ABAP program is not getting generated as expected. And terminates. When we tested a simple workflow.
While creating a new datastore for SAP R/3 Source :
When we look at the datastore we find the following options for R3 Source ;
ABAP Execution option :
Execute preloaded
Generate and execute
Under data transfer method we find ;
Shared directory
Direct download
FTP
Custom transfer
Then we have working directory on sap server
local directory
generated ABAP Directory
Am testing a simple workflow of pulling data from SAP R/3 in a dev machine.
But am not understanding.
which option of ABAP Execution, and data transfer , path would work in co-ordination.
Because when i say direct download and say generate and execute it throws error.
Can anyone help me with combinations of the options to choose for a R/3 source. And the implications thereof.
I had created a folder under local bods server D:\Bodi. And given the path for data transfer.
But the files are not getting generated for whatsoever reasons.
Any advise on this would be helpful.
Also found a bit unusual, that there was no button to test the connection to be correct or not, a TEST connection button is not there. Which i felt, could be included.
Note : on the existing production system, we have chosen execute preloaded; shared directory on sap server. and shared that folder path for the user and given full rights. But while we try to do the same on the dev machine a test before transporting on production, a simple workflow does not work.
would like to know what settings on sap server, really affect the data store options on the BODS
thanks

Edited by: Indumathy Narayanan on Jul 19, 2011 4:14 PMIndeed, BODS <> SAP connectivity can be tricky.
For a development environment, I suggest you select the option "Generate and execute" for your "ABAP Execution Option." What this means is that DS will create, on the fly, small-ish ABAP programs. These ABAP programs will be written, in plain text, to a local directory on the DS job server, in the folder specified in "Generated ABAP Directory". You can see them in there after an attempted job execution, assuming the job involves the creation of an ABAP program. The ABAP program name is specified in the properties of an ABAP data flow, under Options > ABAP Program Name. If you can't, perhaps the DS job server process doesn't have full rights to that folder - ? After being generated on-the-fly, they'll be transferred to SAP to execute. The SAP user you use to connect to SAP must have sufficient rights to upload-and-execute these ABAP programs, and that's a fairly substantial set of rights. What's required is documented in the BODS supplement for SAP. Often, to get things running, your friendly local Basis admin will grant SAP_ALL to the DS user, to see what rights are being invoked.
Once all that jazz is working, you need to get the data back. There are a number of ways to do this. The method of data transfer is specified in "Data transfer method," where, ignoring "Custom transfer," you have three choices:
1) Direct Download: easiest and slowest. This method tells SAP to attempt to stick data in the client-side folder specified in "Local directory." Try this first.
2) Shared folder: This is recommended when you have SAP being hosted on a Windows box. Basically: you set "Working directory on SAP Server" and "Data Services path to the shared directory" to point to the same folder. SAP uses the "Working directory on SAP Server" to find this folder, and DS uses the other setting. So, for instance, if you were going to use the Shared folder method, you could set "Working directory on SAP Server" to "E:\BODS_Transfer", and, assuming E:\BODS_Transfer was shared-out as "BODS_Transfer", you could set "Data Services path to the shared directory" to
dev12.somecompany.com\BODS_Transfer . Then, you'd need to setup all the relevant security, as both SAP and DS need rights to read and write files in this folder.
3) FTP (this is the method I usually use): SAP writes the "transport files" you're after (i.e., the data) in the folder specified in "Working directory on SAP Server". Then, you need to establish ftp connectivity to that folder from the DS job server's perspective, which you do by entering the ftp host name and the path to that folder in "FTP host name" and "FTP relative path to the SAP working directory". In my opinion, the "relative" business is a little confusing, and I just typically enter the full ftp path, beginning the path w/ a forward slash, like "/usr/sap/tmp/BOBJ" or something like that. You also need to obtain a separate username and password for the ftp connectivity. Note that this name and password has NOTHING to do with the SAP username and password; you're just setting-up DS to act as an ftp client. I strongly encourage you to test ftp connectivity by using a regular ftp client from the DS job server and attempt to connect to your ftp host using the username and password you were given, and attempting to fetch some sample test file. If you can't do this, manually, then DS won't be able to do it, either.
Best wishes,

Data load from SAP ECC to SAP BI
Hello Gurus and Experts
I am new to BI and I m almost struggling to find a step by step process in loading data from SAP ECC to SAP BI through generic extractors from VBAK. The Problem is I can create an Infopackage for full update and loaded the records.(Lets say Upto this step 100 records are moved to PSA)
Then I create a sale order in ECC which is a new record that has to be transfered as delta record.
Now my questions are:
Am I correct if I moved the initial records into PSA with Full Mode InfoPackage?
Should I create another infopackage for delta records with Delta Mode or to change the update mode of the infopackage created earlier for Full Update mode?
Should I create a new infopackage every time to load the delta records?
Does separate DTP has to be created for Full and Delta updates?
Please dont be frustrated if my questions are pointless or childish
I would be glad if someone demonstrate the solutions in steps
Thanks in Advance
KarthikHi Ram,
I have followed all the steps mentioned by you, yet something is lagging in my end.
Let me lists the steps done by me and please correct me if i am wrong anywhere.
1. RSO2 in ECC..
2. Created DS with short, med and long names in SD application component for VBAK with all the fields unchecked in hide selection except document number, time of document, document date, net
value of the document and document currency.
3. mentioned a numeric pointer as Document number for delta and used new status for changed records.
3. saved the datasource. checked the newly created ds using the tcode RSA3.
4. Replicated the datasource under SD Application Component in BI and Activated it
6. Performed Transformations
7. created an Info Package with FULL UPDATE and executed. I got 6898 records in my PSA
6. Created DTP with DELTA. Saved and Executed it. Got 6898 records in my DSO
7. Created Info Package with INIT WITHOUT DATA TRANSFER and scheduled it.
8. Switched over to ECC and added a sale order
9. Created an InfoPackage with DELTA UPDATE and Scheduled it.
-----I didnt receive any records in my PSA
10. performed DTP.
---- I didnt received any new records in my DSO as my delta run is not working..
PS: I am using WO DSO
Please correct me if i am wrong anywhere
Thanks in advance

Legacy flat file to IDOC into SAP
after been given the task of converting a flat file structure to SAP idocs my research as lead me into the daunting world of CAPS. Basically I would like to know if using CAPS is the best choice for me
and if so what is actually involved to make this happen?
Thanks
Michaelhi michael,
from my point of view "the right thing to do" would be:
consider if this is the only task for you that is somehow EAI ish...
if it is do not care about technology... just do it with a very simple program
if you have to evolve choose a tool that is capeable of your systems you own: e.g. SAP AS400 .......
in caps you would typically do this:
setup CAPS
write an ftp2queue component
write a converter (custom otd + convertion logic + IDOC OTD)
write a idoc 2 sap component via TRFC
run ;-)
a good starting point would be:
http://developers.sun.com/docs/javacaps/index.jsp
or
http://wikis.sun.com/display/JavaCAPS/Grok+Java+CAPS
or try to convince your boss that sun will implement it for you if you have the money to do so.
we did that when introducing CAPS (we got it for free besides the CAPS licences of course ;-)).

Starting a forum thread for those of us who are upgrading to SCM 5.0 Please comment on the scope and/or challenges of your project. Please post any advice.
Our upgrade project begins in January. We will migrate from SCM 4.0 SP 18 to 5.0. Integrated with R/3 4.6C and NetWeaver BI.
I expect our primary challenges will be the evaluation of existing customer exit logic. Also we plan for several waves of integration tests.

Davide,
Gui would continue to be there for back end stuff. Tables (SE11) you would still continue to display, maintain. Creation of function module (SE37), report programs (SE38), lots of basis adminstration stuff, batch job scheduling and such stuff would still be done though SAP GUI.
Though SAP is trying to move many things to UI - such instead of EEWB, most of the functionality can be achieved through new AET.
CRM_MKTPL --- not suported, it will give you error message 'SAP GUI transaction CRM_MKTPL is no longer supported; use CRM WebClient UI'
CRMD_PROF_CHAR - you can still open this in CRM 7.0
CRMD_ORDER - you can still open this in CRM 7.0
Mostly marketing related developments (including TPM) will be taken care of by Web UI as this is newly developed area with lots of enhancements coming up - and GUI use would be reduced day by day even for configurations going forward.
Important is - for almost everything that is done in older versions - there is something in CRM 7.0 that you can use to do that in a better way, so not to worry.
Best Luck!

ISH-CO Integration (Case based order could not be created)
HI,
My name is Yael Jacobi; I am a CO implementer in SAP Project in Israel.
The project is for a hospital in Israel.
We are trying to implement the integration between the CO (Controlling) and the ISH module.
I haven't found any valuable information in the internet until now.
I will be grateful if you could send me any documentation regarding the ISH-CO integration
I am trying to create a case based order (internal order that should be created for a case in the ISH) but with no success.
I created an internal order type in CO and customize the relevant data ,in the basic settings for "SAP Healthcare-integration with controlling" ,but no case based order had been created .
The revenue posted to the profitability analysis segment instead of the case order.
Maybe do you have any idea why is that and what is missing?
I would really appreciate it if you could help,
Thanks in advance;
Best Regards,
YaelHi Yael,
first of all good to hear that you solved the problem. Actually we have a couple of similiar processes where SAP Patient Management uses "standard" ERP functionality in the background. Sometimes it is a good strategy to first check out whether the "standard" functionality works as expected by invoking the respective transactions in ERP manually (using the values which you lateron expect IS-H to use automatically). If they work according to your expectations you can then focus on the IS-H configuration.
I'd like to come back to your point on the documentation. If you write that you think it was not good enough, I am sure you have some ideas how to improve it? As you may know we are moving more and more into collaborative documentation technology like Wikis. Would you be willing to maybe actively help improving parts of the documentation by sharing some of your experiences and knowlegde?
For example, we could jointly start a Wiki page on the topic of IS-H/CO integration.
Please let me know your thoughts.
Best regards

Could you please inform me about the SAP Book for IS-H Module. I want to start my job experience in SAP Healthcare.
Thank you very much,
Evguenia.hello evegenia,
as far as I know there is no book on SAP Healthcare available.
You can enrole into some training (more infos [in this blog|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/7585]), read the online help at [http://help.sap.com] or at best learn it on the job by finding a company which implements or runs IS-H or i.s.h.med.

hello all, I need information about the BAPI that come in the module of ISH 6.0 already definite.
regards,Hi Peter,
not sure whether I understand your question 100%. In regards to the available BAPI's and upcoming enterprise service (ES), please see my previous answer. You can absolutely determine what is available in SAP ERP 6.0 (both BAPIs and ES), but ES in the area of SAP Patient Management will only be coming as of EhP4.
Now coming to the question whether you can validate that your integration scenarios are covered without additional development. I think that is difficult to answer without looking at the scenarios in more detail.
The question whether you can later switch from BAPI based integration to enterprise (web) services "without problems" is also depending on the scenario. In general I would assume that you should have an additional reason to change a productive scenario from one technology to another, for example gain more flexibility or a better re-use possibilities.
Perhaps you can give an example of your requirements such that we can better discuss options.

Claudius
