Japanese-English SAP terms dictionary
Do any of you maintain some sort of SAP English-Japanese terms dictionary?
Does SAP provide this?
We are working on Japanese documents and find it difficult to map it to standard SAP terms so we have difficulties in understanding.
Some thing like Sales Area, Purchasing Organization should have their counterpart in Japanese.
ThanksHi,
Not sure if SAP has this or not but you can try translator from google.com

How to achieve vietnamese language support for SAP?
Dear all,
It's easy to add languages which are natively supported by SAP like Japanese, French...
I wonder what are the things to do when we need language enablement for languages like vietnamese which are not yet supported by SAP.
What we want to achieve.
When we logon, select VN as the logon key.
Then in the application, it show our language text instead of DE or EN.
Thanks
GiangHi
As you are aware the Vietnames is not supported by SAP, You cannot install or customise it. SAP will not guarantee the consistency of the data.

Saplogon.ini parameters
Hi Expert,
Note=99435 does not describe all the parameters of saplogon.ini. Could you show me all the explanation of the saplogon.ini 's parameters?
Background:
I use SAPGUI 7.2. and SAP ERP 6.0 unicode version. I want to use SAP in Japanese.
I want to know the correct settings for CODEPAGE (1100?8000?) and EncodingID(Default_NON_UC?Default?)
There are other parameters that are not described, such as Shortcutxxx...Hi Takako,
Please refer link http://www.saptechies.com/saplogonini-file-format/
for details on various parameters in saplogon.ini
In case you want to use japanese language I would suggest the following settings
Codepage: 1100 ( since your system is unicode)
Encoding: Default. (since your system is unicode)

Edited by: KAPIL KUMAR singh on Apr 29, 2008 4:39 PMChartered Accountancy with SAP FI-CO itself is a lethal combination. Looks like you love Japan or there is someone there whom you love. There are quite some companies in Japan that have implemented SAP (you can get into support, upgrade, enhance kinda roles) and there are also new implementations in the pipeline. As far as training goes, go to any SAP Education Partners (Siemens, etc.). Give your full time to demos and practice sessions on SAP when in training - reading books only will not help.
Good luck. -

When a P.O. is generated and when user clicks on Print Preview a PDF file will be generated and sent to the Vendor in Japanese Language, It was working fine now some SAP upgrades has been done last week, Now nothing appears in the PDF P.O. generated, So please let me know what went wrong and is there a seperate package for Japanese language or how to go about this.
Points assured.

RFC SDK, connect with japanese username to a unicode SAP system
Hello everybody,
I try to connect with a japanese username to a unicode SAP system. I use VC++ and make the call like this:
BYTE utf8_byteArray[10] = {0xE3, 0x81, 0x8A, 0xE3, 0x81, 0x99, 0xE3, 0x81, 0x99, 0x00 };
CString sJapUser(utf8_byteArray);
sConnectParam.Format( cU("CLIENT=%s USER=%s PASSWD=%s LANG=%s SYSNR=%d ASHOST=%s PCS=2"),
"800",
sJapUser,
"password",
"EN",
1,
"9.22.104.145");
hRfc = ::RfcOpenEx( (char*)(LPCTSTR)sConnectParam, &error_info);
I tried it with different codepages and PCS settings (1/2) too but i always get the error:
"Name or password is incorrect (repeat logon)"
When I connect to a non unicode japanese system in locale encoding it works.
Another thing i saw is that the utf8 string is truncated after 12 bytes (12 character/bytes is the limit of user name length). When I use a japanese username with 6 japanese symbols (18 bytes in utf8) I see the following in the RFC trace:
rfcOpenHooked
destination <unknown>
mode 3
conopt 3 hostname 9.22.104.145
conopt 3 sysnr 1
conopt 3 use_l_bal 0
conopt 3 use_sapgui 0
client 800
user おすすめ (here the username misses 2 japanese characters)
language E
trace 0
L-GetCodePage (DEFAULT-CP) rc = 0: 1100
Here the username is correct:

Got following connect_param string:

Send UNICODE-RFCHEADER: cp:4110/ce:IGNORE/et:5/cs:1/rc:0x00000023
In the RFC trace the username is truncated (only 12 bytes(4 characters) instead of 18 bytes (6 characters))

To connect with japanese usernames using the SAP-GUI works fine but the rfc traces show that the connection is established in another way.
Can anyone help me with this or is it just impossible to use japanese usernames for logon with RFC.

Converting garbled characters for JAPANESE characters in a custom table
Hi all,
I have a custom table that store Japanese characters.
After my company has upgraded to ECC6.0, this data in the custom table has become garbled and its alot of it garbled.
Is there any SAP tool that can I use to make the correction on those garbled Japanese characters?
Thanks,
William WilstrothHi Nils,
I really really really had a field day reading and testing around UC... To my dissappointment, I do not have the authorization to use SUMG and SCP too as well as a few of the TCODES...
I finally told my higher level technical mgnt. that this table might need some changes...
Has this problem of mine got anything to do with MDMP since its no longer supported in ECC6 and I found one coding that search for MDMP in RSVTPROT...
My colleagues suggest that the data be corrected from table DBTABLOG... which i find, in my opinion, is not the right way...
Thanks,

Problem with display of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean business partner name
Hi All,
I'm trying to understand how to get GTS to properly display the names of the business partners that are in Chinese, Japanese, or Korean.
I have set my SAP gui localization as follows:
- Select the Customize Local Layout, then Options, then the |18N tab,
and check the Activate Multibyte Function box
- Select the Customize Local Layout, then Character Set and check
Unicode and Simplified Chinese
In the source R/3 system for these partners, if I set my localization to the right language, the business partner's name and address would be displayed correctly in the C/J/K character sets when I select the appropriate version in International Version of the address.
However, in GTS these names/addresses would just appear as nonsensical characters (like "·ÉÀûÆÖÕÕÃ÷µç×Ó£¨ÉϺ££©ÓÐÏÞ¹«Ë¾").
For example, if I do a look up of a known Chinese BP by number, in the seach results window the Description field of that BP would just be garbage, but if I put the cursor over the Description field, then the correct Chinese display (matching what is in R/3) would appear for as long as the cursor is over that field. This indicates that the data was transferred correctly from R/3 to GTS, but some how the display does not default to the right character set.
If I select that record, the resulting detailed display would also have garbage as the Name and Address. However, here putting the cursor over the fields still do not bring up the correct character displays, and I have found no way to get the correct displays to appear.
Does any one know of a way to get the displays to show correctly in GTS?
And can anyone explain why putting the cursor over the Description (in the BP search results window) would let the correct display pop up?
Greatly appreciate any insight anyone can provide.
Thanks,
RexHi Rex - As per message - this looks to be an issue for BC-I18-UNI and not the GTS application:
For general information purposes - last response from BC-I18-UNI development via oss message:
"However, from readind the message, I believe I understood the reason for
the described effect. I assume GGT is a non-Unicode system? If yes, this
is my idea:
The data stored in the BP tables, e.g. for number 2555442 have been
entred manually, probably within a session using English as logon
language. In this case the data are stored with a Latin-1 codepage. This
means the stored data are actually Latin-1 data, not Chinese. By
switching the font at front-end side to Chinese, the characters appear
as correct Chinese, although they are still Latin-1.
It is possible that different GUI components show different effects in
this context, as the internal font switching mechanisms behave a bit
different in different components, e.g. control based components are
different from normal Dynpro-based fields.
To have correct Chinese data, you need to logon with language Chinese.
This holds for all non-Unicode systems. On Unicode systems, the logon
language is arbitrary." -
Purchase Order for Japanese Yen
HI All,
My issue is only with Japanese Currency. When I am creating a PO, NETPR field of EKPO table is stored with higher value. However BSEG table is updated with the correct amount. Pls see the following example for better understanding :
PO Rate : 8,500,000.000 JPY (1 Qty)
Amt shown in NETPR/EKPO : 85,000,000.00 JPY (1 Qty)
Amt in BSEG : 8,500,000.000 JPY (1 Qty)
Exchange Rate : 37 Rs. per 100 Yen
Because of the above my register is showing higher value of purchase. I am not able to understand why EKPO table is stored with higher value.
Any help will be appreciated...
Thanking You,
Subratotry to check what do you get on the screen when you use "Write EKPO-NETWR currency JPY" ?
Does it show correct value ?
Things to check -> all rate types used in your docs (you may use different rate types for FI & PO). Are your rates defined using proper factors ?
JPY in non-decimal currency, and SAP always store values in the tables with 2 decimals... so if you do not use addition "currency" in your write command -> you are going to get wrong results. -
Japanese Language Text in PDF Output of Purchase Orders
Hi,
We are using a custom smartform to create a purchase order output and send it as an email to the Vendor.
Std Program /SMB40/FM06P is used. We have setup the configuration for External Message and this is working fine.
We have the following 2 issues
1. We wish to over-ride the email address picked up by the Program. By default SAP picks up the vendors email address maintained in Vendor master. Is there any way to overide this?
2. The purchase order contains Japanese language texts. These Japanese texts are not getting updated correctly in the PDF file. They are displayed as junk characters.
Please note that if I view print preview of purchase orders in mE23N the display is perfectly fine. Also I executed a report in the background and then converted the spool to a PDF file. The PDF file displays Japanese characters correctly.
Any inputs on the above is welcome. Issue no 2 is more seriously affecting us.Hi,
For issue # 1. Check OSS note OSS 852250... you need to include this logic en get_addr_key in print program: /SMB40/FM06PE02
IF is_nast-parnr NE space AND
is_nast-parnr NE is_xekko-lifnr.
"-- Get address from partner -
SELECT SINGLE * FROM lfa1 INTO ls_lfa1
WHERE lifnr = is_nast-parnr.
MOVE ls_lfa1 TO cv_addr_key.
Notice that line:
MOVE ls_lfa1 TO cv_addr_key
Should be
MOVE ls_lfa1-adrn TO cv_addr_key
About issue # 2.
I am facing the same problem, have you been ablo to resolve it?
Thanks
