SAP InfoSet Query not visible in CR8

Hi experts,
I'm trying to display Sap Queries through Crystal Report 8.
I can access the Infoset (User Group defined) and display reports on it.
But when I try to access the InfoSet Queries, none appears.
I give myself the users group for my specific InfoSet and for the templates Crystal.
After that, When I'm in CR, I see both InfoSets (Specific and CR template), but unfortunately only templates queries are displayed.
I've compared standard Query and mine, and I can't see any difference.
I hope you can help me cause I didn't undestand where I am wrong.

What do you mean by Options ?
I see in connections, in folder Sap Infoset the nodes I and Q. I have my Infoset in the folder I --> G (global).
But I have nothing in the folder Q --> G.
That's why I don't understand where is the issue, I can see tables, infoset but not queries.

Best Practices v3.31 - SAP InfoSet Query connection

I have a problem with adapting a Crystal Report from Best Practices for Business Intelligence v3.31 to SAP system. The report "Cost Analysis Planned vs. Actual Order Costs.rpt" is using SAP InfoSet Query "CO_OM_OP_20_Q1". This InfoSet Query is working fine in SAP. My SAP-User has access to the following user groups:
- /SREP/IS_UG
- /KYK/IS_UG
- ZBPBI131_USR
The Controlling Area in SAP is '1000'. Crystal Reports generates this error message:
- Failed to retrieve data from the database.
- Database Connector Error: "Controlling area does not exist"
- Database Connector Error: 'RFC_CLOSED'
But InfoSet Query "CO_OM_CA_20_Q1" has no problem with Controlling Area '1000' in Crystal Reports and is working fine in SAP!
Can somebody help?

I'm using Best Practices for BI v1.31 and this one also has this report you are talking about.
I face the same issue when trying to adapt it to my ERP, but if I run it in SAP GUI, it goes smoothly without any issue.

Crystal report from SAP infoset query

Hi All,
I am facing a problem in a crystal report which is based on Infoset query. When I run the report after passing the parameters it gives me an error "Database error occured" "Parameter field value does not exists" "RFC Closed"
But if I run the same Infoset query from SQ01 I am able to run it with same paramenter and it returns many records.
To be very precise I am running the best practice crystal report "Cost Analysis - Planned vs. Actual Order Costs" which is based on infoset query CO_OM_CA_20_Q1.
It throws me error that "Controlling Area does not exists".
Did anyone faced similar problem?

Hi,
log into your SAP ERP system using the SAP GUI and choose in the SAP Menu the following path:
SAP Menu -> Accounting -> Controlling -> Cost Cetner Controlling ->Environment->Set Controlling Area.
Set the desired controlling area for your user there (DO NOT FORGET TO CLICK ON THE DISKETTE ICON) and try again.

Infoset Query not fetching new Versions

hi,
I have an infoset Query on Cost center. Earlier that Query was haviing only 1 planning version , ie 0. but now we modified it and added 1 more planning version, ie version 2...
But wen we are executing the Infoset for the version 2, it is telling " No data selected"
But the underlying table have data for version 2...
can anyone help me with this...

Hi I am executing the Query, C3, in SQ02. And In SQ01 i checked the infoset, BC02. There i found out that it is made up of a table join of COST and CSSL table. I went to that table and checked. There are two versions. Both Version 0 and version 2. But wen im executing the Query only version 0 is displaying. Not version 2.
i need to display both.

SAP ABAP Query not generated after upgrade

Our client has upgraded from 4.6c to ECC 6.0
In the upgraded server some SAP Queries have not been generatedand others have generated. I wanted to know why all are not generated.
I also wanted to know if any table name exists which maintains query with generated program name
Please let me know your learnings on SAP/ABAP Query if any

I forgot to mention that FM will just give u the report name..wont generate it.
I dont think the report name is saved in any tables... it is generated ...
but u can derive the report name..if u know the user group and query name.. by concatenating those ..
for details..look into the code for that FM

Query not visible in Prod,

Hi all
I have created 5 queries in Dev and transported to Quality and then to production
In Quality i was able to see all the Queries under that Infocube
But once they are moved to prod i was not able to see them.
For trail i tried creating the same query in prod with the same name, it says like Query Name already exists.
but go and search for that to open its not visible.
can anyone say what could be the wrong

Do you have the same authorizations in Prod as in Dev and Quality ?
Maybe you don't have the necessary rights to see or modify an existing query.
It seems that your query already exists in Prod, but check it anyway in table RSZCOMPDIR.
Put the technical name of your query in the field COMPID.
You will see if it is active.

SAP Infoset Query Reporting Set Restriction by Org. Structure

Dear Experts,
I am giving some new users a demo on using Infoset Query on an IDES server.
I am using the user group Personnel Administration (PA) and the HRDATA infoset.
As per my understanding, I should be able to restrict the reporting set according to organizational structure as the infoset is based on logical database PNP. However I am only seeing "No. of hits" in the restrict by drop-down (as can also be seen in the screenshot).
What am I missing to be able to see the restrict by option of "Persons along organizational structure"?
All assistance in this regard is really appreciated.

Thankyou for your response.
Your solution is perfectly sound for fulfilling the purpose.
However, because I am conducting a demo, I thought a reporting set restriction on the main screen would be more appealing, than an additional selection screen.
In a demo screenshot I have seen that the restrict by option "Persons along organizational structure", is listed right under "No. of hits" like in my screen shot. Can you shed some light on that. I am attaching the demo screenshot I am talking about for reference as well

SAP hostagent and SAP netweaver nodes not visible in WIEM

We are implementing SAP BusinessObjects performance monitoring through
RSC. RSC SP3
We have installed SMD Agent on BOE server which forms "Managed Agent".
We have utilising existing WIEM installed in SOlution Manager.
We have installed SMD Agent on client desktop whicn forms "Managing
Agent" since Solution Manager does not have connectivity to internet
even through proxy server.
We have run configuration UI for Managing Agent which completed
successfully.
The configuration setup of Managed Agent also completed successfully.
But, as informed in the installation guide the "SAP HostAgent" and "SAP
NetWeaver" processes & nodes are not created in WIEM.\ check configuration 6.3.3 in RSC SP3 guide/
We checked connectivity & port settings and we have no issues.

Hi Atul,
I see where the problem is coming from by analyzing the debugging logs.
When you ran the RSCSetup.bat and you were prompted for the Wily Introscope Enterprise Manager connection details and you put in:
HOSTNAME: CPHSMAD1
PORT: 8081
This is incorrect. That port number is the HTTP port of Wily Introscope, not the WIEM port. You must use the WIEM port which by default is port 6001 (this port will be the same as when you log on to WIEM via the Wily Introscope Investigator client)
Please do the following to correct the problem:
1) On the managed host (CPWBOAD1) run the RSCSETUP.BAT again. Choose deactivate and allow the process to finish.
2) On the managed host, uninstall the SMDAgent (with SID PRD) by running sapinst again and choose "uninstall"
3) On the managed host reinstall the SMDAgent (RSC Diagnostic Agent) again.
4) Confirm the new SMDAgent (PRD) service is running. If it isnt, start it.
5) On the managed host, run the RSCSETUP.bat again and make sure to choose the correct "Wily Introscope Enterprise Manager" port and host name (for example, CPHSMAD1 and 6001)
6) Now on the managing host, run the RSC UI Configuration Wizard again. The SMDAgent should appear now.

Query not Visible in Universe

Hi Experts,
I want to create a universe based on query.
When I try to create the connection I am able to see all queries except for the ones I have created.
I have checked the query for external use as well at BEx level.
There are no roles maintained in this sandbox server.So no question about inserting my queries into specific roles as it is currently in my favourites.
Am I missing some setting part somewhere?
Please assist.

Or do you mean something else?

Infoset Query not working

Hello,
I am encountering with a scenario in SQ01 where in which, when i select the amount field of a custom infotype created, am getting a error message "Error when generating the report (see long text) -
The report cannot be generated because the internal description is invalid or incomplete, or because the selection screen is too large."
the domain of the amount field is just Currency (13,2) and is referenced to IT14-WAERS in "Currency/Quality fields".
Please let me knwo the solution for the same.

Role/query not visible in analyzer urgent

Hi,
In my case User "A" has activated all the business content queries. Now this user created user B with authorization to see only few queries under a selected infoarea.. but user B cannot see them.he also cannot see the roles when i open analyzer. Is it that queries are activated by user A so user B cannot see them?? IF that is the case how can i make user B able to see queries??

I dont think that should be the case, but to check just give User B the same authorization as User A and see if he is able to see the queries. If so, then you will need to fix the authorizations accordingly.
Does User B see the InfoCubes or the DSOs on which the queries are built ? Try using the Authorization trace to pinpoint the problem.

Did you assign the queries and the infosets to an InfoSet user group and you assign the SAP account to it as well ?

With a webreport I can use Broadcasting with Distribute command. I this workflow I have a popup with the choice :

Thank you for your reply. We checked RELE in the S_BTCH_JOB Authorization but the SAP Scheduling option is still not displayed for our user in the Information Broadcaster. The first part (Data Change in InfoProvider) is displayed, but not the second part that allows the user to schedule a specific date and time and frequency. Can you give us any other authorizations to check for?

Key is not visible in SQL 2012 R2 when query is read from SAP BI

I have a query in sap bi which has variables where key and text is displayed as per screen shot 1. How ever the same query is triggered from SQL 2012 r2 the key is not visible but text is visible as per screenshot 2 . Could any one suggest how the key will be displayed by there end(SQL).

I think you're in the wrong space as yor screenshots are not from any Business Objects or SAP BI 4.x products I know.
What exact product are you using ?
