Sap Installation Messed up (GUI not starting)
Hi there,
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post... anyway I have a problem with my sap installation.
What happened is that I tried to install Adobe LiveCycle Designer using the SAP front end installer.
I left only the Adobe LiveCycle Designer option checked (Business Explorer and SAP GUI were unchecked): the installation program started to install that software, and then began to uninstall the SAP GUI. When I realized that I stopped the setup program, but the SAP GUI was obviously messed up.
The problem now is that I can't install the SAP GUI again, because the option doesn't show anymore in the setup program.
The feeling is that something is not consistent between the filesystem and the Windows register.
Does anybody experienced the same problem or has an idea on how to solve it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
Hi MosMarco,
I am happy to hear that your problem is solved! But you didn´t need to thank me as you found the solution yourself!
Have a nice day and have fun with the Adobe tool!
P.S.: Please check that the Adobe editor is also actually working, because in the past I had some troubles with installing the wrong version! :-s

SAP installation guiengine:No GUI server connected;waiting for connection
Hi All,
I need one help
I am trying to install SAP ECC 6 in Redhat Linux 5 and database oracle
I have installed java 1.4.2_16, I have set the environmental variables also.
But if I start the SAP installation by executing SAPINST , I am facing the below error
guiengine: No GUI server connected; waiting for a connection on host welcome, port 21200 to continue with the installation
I have tried to execute xclock to check it, but its gives the below error
ERROR: canu2019t open display: welcome:0.0
I found that before setting the below display environmental variable, xclock worked good, but after setting the below display environmental variable, I am facing this error
export DISPLAY=hostname:0.0
I searched for this error, some people posted that we have to change the display environmental variable like export DISPLAY=:0, set DISPLAY=:0.0,
I tried it but still facing the same No GUI server connected error.
I hope it will be a problem with display environmental variable and I have no other clues, please help me, Thanks.
Thanks,
Senthil.Hi,
We are trying in my personal laptop, so I have not set any ip addess. Is there any other way like our loop back adapter settings in windows, to configure ip address in Redhat linux 5 in individual machines.
Also I searched in forums few other people who has already faced the same error. They have set the display environment variable export DISPLAY=ipaddress:0.0 with ip address but they also has faced the same error and itu2019s not resolved.
Please help me if there will be any other reason for this error, Thanks.
Thanks,
Senthil. -

SAP JVM switch SAPINST GUI not launching
Hi All,
I have performed SAP JVM switch in all portal servers. One of the server is giving issue. I is not launching sapinst GUI screen. There was 2 JDK versions installed j2sdk1.4.2_13 and j2sdk1.4.2_29. I keep tried changing j2sdk1.4.2_29 in some properties file besides java home is pointing to j2sdk1.4.2_29. I also changed SAPINST_JRE_HOME property in environment variables with j2sdk1.4.2_29 to be in sync. Now below log is showing j2sdk1.4.2_29 but it is still not launching sapinst gui. Please help. Kavitha, you just need to make sure that the instance profile has the right details.
SAPJVM_VERSION. Enter the new version of the SAP JVM e.g.:
SAPJVM_VERSION = 4.1.028
and
jstartup/vm/home = <location of the new jdk>
for example:
jstartup/vm/home = /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/exe/jvm/hpia64/
sapjvm_6.1.028
After the change, delete following files (they will be recreated after the j2ee restart):
/usr/sap/<SID>/<INSTANCE>/j2ee/cluster/instance.properties.vmprop
/usr/sap/<SID>/<INSTANCE>/SDM/program/config/sdm_jstartup.properties.vmprop
Now do a complete cluster restart.

Se.sap (Send process) down and not starting
Hi experts,
The send process i.e process for forwarding messages from instance to central log is down.
When i try to start using force '-F' option it doesn't start due to
Command: se.sapPXP_DVEBMGS10 -F pf=/usr/sap/PXP/SYS/profile/PXP_DVEBMGS10_pxpci
rslgsmcc(71).rslgsm1_write_pid_file.kill(,0) for rslgsend(962774): Not owner
I even tried this....but it is not working
pxpci:pxpadm 6> pwd
/usr/sap/PXP/DVEBMGS10/work
pxpci:pxpadm 7> nohup ./se.sapPXP_DVEBMGS10 -F pf=/usr/sap/PXP/SYS/profile/PXP_DVEBMGS10_pxpci &
[1] 3551476
pxpci:pxpadm 8> Sending output to nohup.out
nohup: ./se.sap_: No such file or directory
[1] Exit 127 nohup ./se.sap_ -F pf=/usr/sap/PXP/SYS/profile/PXP_DVEBMGS10_pxpci
Now i checked the PID 962774....its an aioserver process
nllpsv3424:sapmgr> ps 962774
PID TTY STAT TIME COMMAND
962774 - A 0:01 aioserver
Now whats the meaning of this line
*rslgsmcc(71).rslgsm1_write_pid_file.kill(,0) for rslgsend(962774): Not owner
is it that the port is occupied by the PID 962774??
How to start it??
Kindly suggest
Regards
Ameya.

VDI 3.0 installation problems - VDI database not starting
Hi
I am trying to install VDI 3.0 (released yesterday) on a Sun Fire X2200 server, running Solaris 10u6. The package installation runs just fine, but I can't get VDI configured properly. When running the vdi-config program, I choose to set up a evaluation VDI host, and then everything runs fine until it reaches the "Starting Sun VDI database (MySQL)" point. It hangs there for a couple of minutes, before simply stating "Failed". The configuration program also prints out the following in the end of the run:
Common Agent Container Configuration
+ Restarting Common Agent Container service...
Error when trying to start SMF service: [svc:/application/management/common-agent-container-1:default].
Please check the SMF log file for more information: [/var/svc/log/application-management-common-agent-container-1:default.log].This seems to be because the common-agent-container-1 service depends on vdadb:sql running, which it fails to.
If I try to start vdadb:sql manually after the configuration (using svcadm clear vdadb:sql), the following is put into the services log, and the service is still in maintenance mode:
[ Mar 25 15:16:19 Executing start method ("/opt/SUNWvda/lib/vda-db-service start") ]
Configuration:
MGMT_NODE=[1]; NDBD_NODE=[1]; SQL_NODE=[1]; MULTI_HOST_MODE=[0];
NDBD_CONNECTSTRING=[localhost]; NDBD_INITIAL_ARG=[--initial]; NDBD_NODE_ID=[2];
Starting the Sun Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Database service:
- Starting Management Node... OK
- Starting Data Node...
Arguments: [localhost --initial]...
Error
[ Mar 25 15:21:26 Method "start" exited with status 95 ]I can't seem to get any further debug messages, and I can't find out how to go any further with this, as "Failed" and "Error" seems to be the only error messages I get.
As far as I can see, the error message is coming from the "waitForNdbdNodeStartup" function on line 296 of /opt/SUNWvda/lib/vda-db-service, but I can't really get any nearer than that.
Does anybody know how to get further in this regard?
/JeppeHi, I have been reading and trying the solutions on this post to no avail ... as this post is still open and it seems like the subject still applies to my problem, I am using this one... the case is:
I am trying to setup an evaluation for vdi3 using several machines, 1 for the vdi core, 2 for the secondaries and another one as the storage server. the main and one secondary installed and got configured fine, but the second secondary is failing and I dont know why, I just unconfigured and uninstalled it and did reinstalled and reconfigured it again, but something went wrong, I havent
touched anything except changing the 300 to 16 in the ini file ...

The start page of SAP web AS Java is not starting
hi,
i recently installed SAP Solution Manager 4.0 (ABAP+Java) and i cannot access the system information using a browser. my instance number is 02, my server name in sun-test and the ip address is 192.167.1.219 using http://192.167.1.219:50200 or http://sun-test:50200 i cannot access the java stack.
what configuration could i have overlooked, are there any parameters that need to be specified after the installation?Hi,
this is the information that i'm getting in SMICM

So, after yesterday this started on several computers without any explanation. I've submitted a bug to Apple, but they haven't gotten back to me.
Basically, when I open Messages the window displaying the contacts and their messages does not open.
I've attempted to remove all preferences and the messages folder in ~/Library/Messages - but the problem persists.
Here's the error if that helps:
1/29/13 11:56:37.959 AM Messages[63500]: NSConcreteMutableAttributedString addAttribute:value:range:: nil value
It's also possible it's related to upgrading Xcode to 4.6.
Any suggestions are welcome.HI,
I am not entirely clear on what this pic is supposed to be showing me.
I take it the larger "background" pic is supposed to show more Buddies and Contacts in the space between the two lots of Head and Shoulders icons ?
I am not sure why you seem to have another view in front of that.
It almost seems that you have two Messages Windows but they are not the same size and not identical.
The iMessages Chats have a Database that is held in ~/Library/Messages that has all the "History" of the ongoing chats.
In fact if you close the chat and then converse with the Contact again the "History" will appear again.
Non iMessage chats (Jabber or AIM or Yahoo ) can be Saved on Closing the Chat.
Reconnecting with the Buddy should call the Last Chat up from the Archive folder in ~/Library/Messages.
Your Pic says you are chatting via iMessages but no visible chat seems to be in place so I can't tell if the people on show as Buddies or Contacts.
However lower left there appear to be no Buddy list logged in as they do not show.
There appears to be no scroll bar for "30+ chats"
The lack of icons suggests a poor link with the Contacts app.
In the Contacts App > Preferences > Accounts you should be using either iCloud or On My Mac but not both.

MartinHi,
You are right, JSPM will not start with server0 down. And server0 will not come up with SAP JVM not updated.
Perhaps you could try a manual update of the SAP JVM as mentioned in the thread:
SAP EHP1 FOR SAP NW CE 7.1 - java doesn't start after updating jvm
Hope it helps.

SAP B1 License Manager not starting automatcially
Dear All
SAP Version : SAP 9.0 PL12
Issue :
1)SAP B1 License manager is not starting automatically even when the status is automatic in the Services.msc
2)Also when logged from the client system its asks for the IP address/server name every time.
3)Some times it connects with the Server name and sometimes with the IP address.
And at cases it doesn't even connect at all throwing the error message "Connection to the license server failed" .
and then when we replace the config files of SAP B1 to DI API it works fine at cases.
This issue occurs on a random basis and at almost in all the systems(System connected in the morning is facing issue at afternoon).
And it becomes an activity on a daily basis.
So kindly let us know the exact cause for this issue and also a permanent solution for the same.
Note : Firewall setting is turned off.
Regards
ShyamHi Shyam..
Have you Installed the License manager with the Admin Rights
SAP Business One doesn't start and License Server Selection screen comes up
SAP Business One generates this error message when logging on: "Connection with license server failed"
On License Server Selection this error occurs: "Connection to license server failed; if license server address is invalid, correct it; if TAO NT Naming Service stopped, activate it and restart License Manager"
On startup, the TAO NT Naming Service returns this warning: "The TAO NT Naming Service on local Computer started and then stopped...";
TAO NT Naming Service is not running. To access this service, right-click the My Computer icon and choose Manage -> Services
Connecting to License Server brings warning: "Failed to connect to License Server"
On startup, the SAP Business One License Manager returns this warning: "The SAP Business One License Manager on local Computer started and then stopped..."
RSP: Logging on to Remote Support Platform (RSP) brings this Error: "Agent service unavailable", RSP Agent Console cannot be accessed. Nevertheless SAP Business One RSP Agent Service is running and restarts successfully
check with the links
TAO NT Naming Service Stop
Check in Service Manager TAO_NT_Naming_Service does it has dependency with SAP B 1 License Manager.
Check the above in the services... does it has got dependency
check does it has set to restart on first failure and second failure in the TAO NT properties Recovery..

Seems like a lot of people are having the same problem as i have , that X is not launched when booting up machine.
I have tried to install Solaris 4 times now. With different package setups, all setups using all packages in the chosen group.
All 4 times the installation has been successful, no errors during installation. it finds my ATI mobility card, mounse and keyboard are correct setup.
During the install the X test is successful with movement in mouse and an visible testimage at 1400x1050 pixels.
Still, when booting after installation the X is not starting (CDE or gnome).
When looking inside /usr/X/bin, /usr/X11/bin there is only two identical files: X and Xserver. It seems like i am missing packages, Xorg and so on.
What to do?
Is this something similar some one else has seen. Do i do anything wrong during setup/install???
Everything else works as it should, Network, FTP and so on, but not X.
This is run on AMD64, so the 64 bit version of solaris is started.Yes ...
I have the similar problem with sun equipment (Blade and Ultra with Sun monitor) with beta version and with final release of solaris 10 (rel 3/05)
I looked around on the net and find many people with this problem ... What it is amazing is that no one was able to answer ... !
It is NOT a compatibility problem considering I`m using ONLY Sun hardware!
At that point I think it is really a serious bug... (same setup on Solaris 9 produces a full working installation)
Some one can just say if it is a bug or if the setup in Solaris 10 should be different from Solaris 9 to have the X Windows system working ?
Thank you -
Jcontrol not starting after EP migration from 32 to 64 bit on windows.
Hi All,
I have migrated the EP system from 32bit o 64 bit. The export and importare successfully completed.
but the SAP MMC showing the Jcontrol not started.
I have installed jdk 1.2.4_17 x64. Kindly do the needful, what can be the possible alternate to make it up.
Rergards,
MadhuYou need to look at the log files in the \work directory for your instance. There will hopefully be a useful message in one of the server or dispatcher log or trace files. Report back any error messages, or you can try searching in SDN.
