SAP Instance in "only display" mode

Dear Guru,
do you have any idea how can I set my R/3 4.6C in display mode?
Shortly will be unavailable this old R/3 instance but for a small period we want to let this instance up and running but only in visualization mode, we want that all possible modification are not possible for final user;
I think that an instance without update process doesn't work properly also only for display functions;

Dear Saandip,
the system 4.6c that I want in "only display" for a short period has been integrated in other sap instance ECC 6.0 and the old system will be eliminated; but before of this cancellation we want to have the possibilities to see the data; also becouse in a big company it is possible that some users wrong to logon to the old system and working in that even if all or almost sapgui has been updated;
I think that with some particular instance parameter it is possible to do it; my first idea was to set at 0 the numbers of update process but I think that there is other problems whit this configuration;

SAP Cloud SDK : Make Display mode when open Embed Component in Account TI screen

Hi Experts,
I have created the custom business object and assign some fields into it.
I have also assign some custom action into this custom business object. After that i have created the Embed component and and configured into Account_TI screen and its display data.
Now when I open Any Account and go to that newly embed component in silverlight 2 options comes ( Save and Cancel ) to remove this options or to make display mode by default I have followed the below steps:
1) Open Embed Component into UI designer.
2) Go to Properties Window.
3) In the top from the dropdown list select embed component.
4) In the Property go to Configuration --> WorkProtectRelevant equal to false.
5) After save and activate and check but still getting ( Save and Cancel ) option in embed component
Is there any other solution or any other settings require to remove this ( Save and Cancel ) option.

In my requirement we do not want to save record anymore.
Also my scenario : We have consuming the on-premise web service into c4c we have created the custom business object ( Not Screen) and based on this custom business object we have created the embed component and design the screen to embed with Account_TI.
We have Read the Account ID from Account _TI screen and assign to embed component element Alternative key AccountID.
We have created of configured the embed component Inport to Read and Assign the Account ID as below:
My Custom business object :
businessobject ECC_recordBO {
[AlternativeKey] [Label("Customer Number")] element AccountID : BusinessPartnerInternalID;

Also once the user come into the Account_TI screen and go to embed component first its in display mode and when he click on any action under embed component its in edit mode but we do not want to save data anymore.

Depriciation key and useful life periods in asset master should in display mode only

Hi all
At the time of creation asset master AS01 we are given the Asset class, company code and similar of asset (1) then we click enter button we will get Create asset: master data screen here in general tab we enter the description and in time dependent tab we enter cost center manually
But
When we click on Depreciation tab here the Depreciation key and use life fields are automatically come with Dep.key(ABC) and use life(15) (Because we maintained in OAYZ)
Here user have a chance to change the Dep.key(ABC) and use life(15).so my requirement is these two fields are display with only display mode .
User don’t have chance to modify this.

Hi Anil,
The screen layout for Asset and its depreciation tab are different. You have to make these fields as Display only in the screen layout. This can be done using T-Code AO21. Below are the screenshots for the path and screen layout for your reference. This should solve your issue

SAP instance unexpected termination

hi sap experts
i am running erp and crm on one server, few times our all sap instances terminated with out any prior warning, if i restart working fine, but i want to know the reason why they terminates and what i should do to prevent it happen again. i see the log in event veiwer as "EVENT_SERVICE_CRASH_NO_ACTION".pls help

EVENT_SERVICE_CRASH_NO_ACTION is a Windows Eventlog Entry written every time a Windows Service is crashing. This has normally nothing to do with parametrization of SAP instances.
Only if the box is short on memory (pagefile) there might be an indirect connection to SAP System parameters. But in this case you should also see some messages like <b>System is short on virtual memory</b> in the system eventlog.
But together with the EVENT... message you will find the service name, which was not posted yet - unfortunately.

Instance in READ ONLY mode - DISPLAY mode

Dear,
we dismissed and OLD SAP environment (4.6C), but due to the Italian law, we have to maintain it alive for 5 years more.
I would like to set it in "READ ONLY" mode.
Users could login in this OLD R/3 but, without changing their profiles, system must be set in DISPLAY mode.
Does anybody know a Tips & Tricks to put it in place?

You should change the users authorizations so that they cannot perform any changes to the system. Usually in cases like this only a limited number of users require access to the system so it shouldn't be too difficult to setup specific authorizations for read only access. I think this is the only choice you have.

If SAP_NEW given to any one,then we can't change it to display mode.OB52 is purely depend on type of
System.In PROD system it will come in change mode only.Where as in other Boxes like DEV/QAS,OB52 will be accessible depend on Client state(SCC4).
So I guess it is not possible in PROD box after giving SAP_NEW.

How to - only display the price of approved PO (not change mode)

Hi,
Following are our PO release strategy
1. Release id : P has
a. Released indicator (tick)
b. Changeablity - 4
The above setup is working fine, means still after the approval users can change all the fields. New strategy is triggered once the values are changed.
Now the issue is business owner does not want the price, qty in change mode after approval. After approval ME22N to show
1. Price & qty to be in display mode
2. All other fields (except the one which affects PRICE) in change mode.
I tried to all the combinations, but after approval I get to see either all the fields in display mode or all in change mode.
Is it possible to display the price related fields only for the approved PO in ME22N.

GET_P Method for Link in table - only in display mode

Hello,
i created an assignmentblock to display a ztable (Simple Object).
One column in the table is homepage.
For this attribute i added some coding to the GET_P_Method to have a link.
The link works fine - but i have this link now not only in display mode but also in edit mode for the table.
As a sideeffect this column is now longer editable.
How should i change my GET_P coding so that the link is only there in display mode. In edit mode the field should be editable (no link).

Hello Manfred,
I do not know about your system... but the usual GET_P-methods do have an importing parameter IV_DISPLAY_MODE. This tells you if you are in display or edit mode.
Check method CL_BT115QH__DETAILS_CN00->GET_P_ORDER_REASON.
Or even more general: GETP_XYZ in your context node class.
The part with the IF statement should be trivial.

IPad 2 now only displays in landscape mode.

My iPad 2 now only displays in one landscape mode. It won't change the screen when I rotate the iPad. Is this an iOS6 glitch?

The button right above the volume button (slide) can be for quickly silencing your iPad or for locking the screen quickly. You can choose whichever one you want through the settings, and you can also manually lock/unlock the screen in the settings.

Call Transaction "MIGO" in display mode only

I have changed the standard the SAP standard program MB51 to a Customer Program 'ZMB51' based upon the user requirement.Iam able to get all the values (output)
Now my requirement is .... iam trying to call transaction "MIGO" when the user clicks on the Material Document Number (MBLNR) (as how in Standard program)
I ve used "ALV_GRID..." display. and given a callback_user_command also .... iam able to call the trasaction ...... but it is editable and not in the display mode ..........

Thanks for reply . When i create by giving business partner externally i am able to save but not able to change fields. I suspect the issue with Authorisation profile . If i check for it whether the role /SAPSLL/SR_AES_MD_BPA i need to check or any other role is there.
