SAP Integration Issues

Hi,
I have installed Business Objects Enterprise XI 3.1 SP5 and SAP Integration Kit XI 3.1 SP5 (server install) on a Windows Server 2003 server for a customer. Both installations completed successfully. I've also installed Crystal Reports 2008 and the Integration Kit  (client install) on a client, both completed successfully. However, I have not done anything with transport files or SAP authentication, but read on...
This customer has some existing Crystal Reports (XI R2) that they use to report on data in SAP ERP.
If I open the report in Crystal Reports on the client, it refreshes successfully against the data source.
If I add the report to Business Objects Enterprise and try and refresh or schedule the report, it fails after a period of time with the following error:
"request could not be completed because a failure occurred while the report was being processed. Please contact your system administrator. [RCIRAS0546] "
It seems that there are lots of things that the SAP Integration Kit can do, that this customer don't require. For example:
- They don't need to log in with their SAP credentials, they've only got 8 users and can use Enterprise authentication
- They only want to use this to refresh and schedule Crystal Reports against ERP, they don't need to use BW
In the installation phase of SAP Integration Kit on the server, I just put "unknown" in the "BW Publisher Parameters", as I read somewhere that it didn't matter what was typed in there as it could be configured afterwards in the registry, and in any case, I don't believe I need this configured. Is this correct?
What purpose do the transport files serve; and given that I can refresh a Crystal Report successfully on the client, why  would I need to do anything with those in order for reports to refresh successfully on the server?
As you can tell, whilst I am very experienced at installing Business Objects Enterprise, this is my first time working with the SAP Integration Kit, or SAP data sources, and I was unexpectedly thrown into this situation. So if anyone has any suggestions, I would be very grateful!
Regards
Darren Smith

Hi Darren,
If you have any questions regarding Integration Kit ,please post under the category SAP Integration Kit.
If you are using Crystal Reports as client you need only the following components of Integration Kit to be installed
Data access components for SAP R/3
Data access components for SAP BW
SAP authentication
SAP BW toolbar.
When you publish the crystal reports into Enterprise you would be needing the server to have integration kit in order to make it run from the server .
For the Data access components of crystal reports for IK the following Enetrprise services
are used Crystal reports page server
Crystal reports Application Server
Crystal report Job server
BW Publisher Service enables you to add content to your SAP and
BusinessObjects Enterprise repositories simultaneously.
You need to configure the SAP Gateway to configure for BW publisher.
You can deselect BW publisherthrough Custom install of SAP IK and proceed with the installation
BusinessObjects XI Integration for SAP includes nine transports: the Open
SQL Connectivity transport, the InfoSet Connectivity transport, the Row-level
Security Definition transport, the Cluster Definition transport, the
Authentication Helpers transport, the Content Administration Workbench,
the BW Query parameter personalization transport, the MDX transport, and
the ODS transport
The Open SQL Connectivity transport enables the drivers to connect to and
report off the SAP system.
The InfoSet Connectivity transport enables the InfoSet driver to access
InfoSets. This transport is compatible with R/3 4.6c and later. Do not import
this transport if you are running R/3 4.6a or earlier
Row-level Security Definition transport
This transport provides the Security Definition Editor, which is a tool that
serves as a graphical interface to the /CRYSTAL/AUTH tables in the Open
SQL Connectivity transport
Cluster Definition transport
This transport provides the Cluster Definition tool. This tool enables you to
build up a metadata repository for ABAP data cluster definitions. These
definitions provide the Open SQL driver with the information it requires in
order to report off these data clusters.
Authentication Helpers transport
Note:
For NetWeaver 7.0.2 or higher, this transport will be provided as part of
NetWeaver.
This transport provides access to the higher performance user list used by
the SAP SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise security plug-in. This enhancement
frees users from having to enter their credentials more than once to access
any of the SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise, R3, and BW systems.
Content Administration Workbench
Note:
For NetWeaver 7.0.2 or higher, this transport will be provided as part of
NetWeaver.
This transport provides content administration functionality for BW systems.
It is available only as a Unicode compatible transport
ODS connectivity transport
This transport enables the ODS Query driver to access ODS data. This
transport is compatible with BW 3.0B patch 27 or higher and BW 3.1C patch
21 or higher.
BW Query parameter personalization transport
Note:
For NetWeaver 7.0.2 or higher, this transport will be provided as part of
NetWeaver.
This transport provides support for personalized and default parameter values
in reports based on BW queries
BW MDX connectivity transport
Note:
For NetWeaver 7.0.2 or higher, this transport will be provided as part of
NetWeaver.
This transport enables the MDX Query driver to access BW cubes and
queries. This transport is compatible with BW 3.0B patch 27 or higher and
BW 3.1C patch 21 or higher.
Please note SAP GUI 7.10 is not supported anymore ,I think you would not find it for download in the SAP site ,SAP GUI 7.20 is supported.
Please post under SAP integration kit for further assistance.

I am in the process of reinstalling my SAP B-One(2007 A) Server, after SQL Server and SAP Server and Client installtions and its related patch PL10. My machine is fully loaded and to go, but I am stuck with Crystal Reports Basic 2008 installtion.
After installting the below for Crystal Reports:

    3) Crytatl Runtime
    4) Crystal Setup
    5) Crystal SAP Viewer
    6) CR2008_SP3
My integration between SAP and CR are fine but after first log off and log on of SAP B-One.
    Shows the below messages:
    - "The new version of Add-on Crystal Reports for SAP Business One is
installed. Upgrade the Add-on in the current Common DB."
    followed by the below one.
"Wrong Executable digital signature for Add-On".
Any advices on how can I upgrade the Common DB.

  • BOE SAP integration kit issue - Java connector

I am trying to install BO applications on one of the TPC system (TPC5).
BOE XI 3.1 Sp3 (using tomcat)
SAP Integration Kit SP3 win for IA32bit
For java connector i am using files from sapjco-ntintel-2.1.8 (tried using 2.1.9 and 3.0.5 as well)
BOE installation goes thru fine and Java Info view, CMC all works fine
Now when i try installing the integration kit it gives some problem during identifying the java connector
I did save the sapjco.jar file in C:\program files\business object\tomcat55\shared\lib folder as specified in all installation guides
But still it do not identify it properly and says Java infoview might not work properly.
So i still go ahead and see that Java infoview doesn't work. Neither does the CMC.
Though WebI still works fine and can acces data from SAP BI system properly.
I have looked a lot into forums but couldnt find the reason other than placing librfc32.dll, sapjcorfc.dll and sapjco.jar files in respective places.
    (i did register the librfc32.dll using regsvr32 librfc32.dll)
I have tried installing and uninstalling this couple of times.
Also when i only uninstall the integration kit. Somehow the CMS server stops and doesnt start again.
and hence have to uninstall BOE as well. Any trick here will help too.
Could it be the SP3 version of BOE or SP3 version of the integration kit?
    Or
Could I be missing some step?
    Thanks
    Ritesh

    Hi Ingo,
I have installed it couple of times and since it didnt work I uninstalled it along with BOE and Crystal reports.
Now, I again installed only BOE and crystal reports.
I did try installing the integration kit but since it donot recognizes the Tomcat Web application server in the 3rd step
    I donot proceed ahead.
The SAP Java connector file (sapjco.jar) is placed in a folder
    C:\Program Files\Business Object\Tomcat55\shared\lib\
When running the integration kit, in the 3rd step when is asks for configuring the tomcat server it
    has a default path of
    C:\Program Files\Business Object\Tomcat55\
On clicking next it says files not found.
So i change the path to
    C:\Program Files\Business Object\Tomcat55\shared\lib\
On clicking next it brings up a pop message saying
    No Compatible Web Server found.
I stop there and exit the setup process
I tried verifying the version of librfc32.dll which is installed along with the installation of the SAP GUI (710)
Then for the SAP connector i download it from the service.sap.com\connectors the 2.1.9 version for 32bit
And copy sapjco.jar file into the above mentioned folder and
    copy sapjcorfc.dll into C:\windows\system32 folder.
And then run the integration kit.
    Thanks

  • BOE XI 3.1 + SAP Integration Kit on AIX 5.3 with WebSphere 6.1 (SOLVED)

    Hi everybody!
On a recent installation I encountered a problem with SAP Integration Kit using BW Query with prompts; I want to share with you what I did to solve this problem:
    First of all, the environment:
    IBM Server with AIX 5.3
    BO Repository on DB2 9.5
    Application Server IBM WebSphere 6.1
    BOE XI R3.1
    Crystal Reports 2008 SP1
After installing and configuring everything on the system, I encountered some problem launching in InfoView reports created with Crystal Reports 2008 based on BW query with SAP Prompts.
The error that I recieved everytime was:
    com.sap.mw.JCO.$Function
What I did to solve this was:
    1) Configure the absolute complete classpath inside the Application Server (path/sapjco.jar)
    2) Put the sapjco.jar version 2.18 at 32bit (unix version) that you can download at  https://websmp108.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000463654&
    Hope this helping you
    Bye
    Andrea

    Dear Gurus,
The issue I am facing is described exactly in the document "Upgrading to CR 2008 V1 / SP1" by Blair Wheadon.
The problem occurs when installing CR2008v1 and BOE 3.1 on the same machine.
The solution is to download and install SP1.
Unfortunately for me, I have downloaded SP1 but the installation is not going well.
Message prompts that installation files are corrupt and that I should download again.
I have downloaded twice. And tried several times.
So I guess it might be due to the platform.
But why wasn;'t the message displayed after BOE3.1 installation was completed?
Do you guys have an idea?
    Alice

  • BO XI 3.1 SP3 - SAP Integration Kit: Transports

    Hi All,
My question is regarding the transports that need to be imported into SAP system so that it can connect with BOE. We are connecting our BW system with BOE, please let me know whether we need to move all transports in BW system only or we have to move transports in R3 system as well.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Ingo,
Please help us in solving the below issue:
We have installed BO XI 3.1 version with the following configurations.
    Windows 2003 Server, SP2 64bit Version
Java: JDK 1.7 and JRE 1.7
    BW: BW 3.5 version
BOE in Tomcat 5.5 App server
    SAP integration kit 3.1 32 bit (51040568.zip)
The issue is that while integrating BOBJ with BW to import all the roles for SSO, we are unable to find   the exact JCO files for doing the same. We tried with JCO 2.1.8, JCO 2.1.10 and JCO 3.0, but all the versions turned futile. After the initial installation with JCO 2.1.8 version (as per to Installation guide) we found neither CMC nor Java Infoview are working.
Please help us in identifying the right JCO for the proper installations and do we need to install SAP integration kit 3.1 SP3 ? This is pretty urgent

    Rajib

  • No Connection after installing SP 2.3 for SAP Integration Kit

    Hello Community!
We just installed Service Pack 2 and Fix Pack 2.3 (in this order) for SAP Integration Kit on one of our client's servers. Before that everything worked fine. After the installation I verify the CE connection in /crystal/rptadmin. The result is:
Unable to log on to Enterprise system. Reason: Unable to log on: Could not connect to server vm103:6400.  Please check that the server name is correct, and that the server is running.
I checked the RFC connection in sm59 but that works normally. BW Publisher Service is also running. The servers (BW and BO) are on the same machine: Windows 2008, 64bit, SQL Server, BOE XI 3.1 SP 2.
The BW Publisher Trace log shows the following entry:

No, this happens only by logging in with SAP credentials.
CMS log file shows a huge list of entries like this one:

  • Installing SAP Integration Kit on BO Cluster

    Hello Gurus,
I have a Business Objects Cluster with 2 servers, On the first server SAP Integration Kit was installed and configured and working as expected.
when i installed BO XI on second server and clusterd it to Server 1 , It went fine and working good.
when i tried to install SAP integartion KIT on server 2, installation goes succesfull, as soon as SAP Integration kit installed, BO XI is not working .
When i opened the CMC link, it says TOM cat is down and error with platformservices.
    Gurus,
Could some one please let me know how SAP integartion kit will be configured on Clustered BO environment.
    Thanks & Regards
    Prashanth

    Hi,
The instllation of SAP Integrtion Kit updates the PlaformServices application and you can face such issues if there was any problem with the update of this application on the second server installation.
Copying the warfiles from the working server and deploying it on the tomcat should solve this issue.

    Ramu.

  • Improvements SAP Integration Kit

    Hi,
I am looking for a list which states all the improvements that have been done per Support Package and per FixPack for the SAP integration kit. Is there one? If yes, where can I find it?
    Best Regards,

    Hi Ingo,
When I for instance read the release notes of SP3 then I do not see anywhere what has been improved.
    http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir2SP3/en/xir2_sp3_%20IntegrationKits_release_notes_en.pdf
More like howto install, deploy and known issues. But where does it say for instance: using BW query conditions have improved performance for Crystal reports...?

  • Error after uninstalling the SAP Integration Kit XI 3.0 on Unix

    Hi all,
I have uninstalled the SAP Integration Kit XI 3.0 on a single solaris server installation. Uninstall was done exactly as instructed in the manual and everything looked ok.

Is the login page trying to look for the SAP authentication page that was removed ?
Is there some configuration still remaining somewhere that needs to be removed so I get the old login page back ?

    Hi Matt,
You didn't mention but do you also wish to install the database(8i) on the same machine ?
I am also trying to install all these products(+8i and designer 6i) on the same box but I am concerned more about the min. resources needed before I get started.(I put up a question about it on the 6i Forum, but nobody has answered yet !)
The correct install order should be Forms/Reports 6i then Forms/Reports 6i Server and then WebDb 2.2.
Forms /reports server needs a http listener and installs en configures the WebDb listener for the job.(you are prompted for this during tho have the install process). This is handy if you are intending to use WebDb anyway. When you install Webdb it detects the already installed WebDb listener and does not reinstall.
You do have the SYS password on the database you will use to stored the WDK and WebDb schema.
    About installing the demo.....
I dont' think there are any special issues.I have never done it.
If you are intending to install an 8i database on the same box there are some important things to consider with respect to the install order and what products in which Oracle home must be installed.
    1.Forms/Reports first in the default_oracle
    home.
    2.Then Oracle 8i in a 2nd oracle home call
    it ora81 for example.
3.Then WebDb in the non oracle 8i home !!
This is just a quick summary.
If you run into any problems let me know
    Good Luck.

  • SAP Integration kit for BO XIR2 with Crystal XI for BI 7.0 Front end

    Hello Team,
We are in a little fix.
We have BOE XIR2, Crystal XI and working with old version of BI front-end 3.5.
We are upgrading to BI 7.0 frontend, but I am not able to trace out the SAP Integration kit for combination of BOE XIR2, Crystal XI and BI7.0.
Is such a thing available, If yes can someone send a link to that.
    Regards
    Lalan Kanade

    Hi,
    Thanks for the quick reply
I could trace this document.  "BusinessObjects Enterprise XI Release 2 SP3 for Windows"
I checked in "Supported Data Sources for Crystal Rep" section, extract below
SAP BW Server 3.0b SAP GUI 620 or 640
SAP BW Server 3.1c SAP GUI 620 or 640
SAP BW Server 3.5 SAP GUI 640.
But we are using BW Server 7.0 with GUI 7.1 and that working fine even with BOXIR2 and Crystal XI with Old Front End for BI 3.X.
But when we are testing with BOXIR2 and Crystal XI with BI New Front End 7.0 its missing components from the query output.
So the SAP Integration kIt seems old & we need a new Kit which would work with BI New Front End 7.0.
    Any suggestions on that
    Regards
    Lalan
