3) what is the project duration normally

  • Customer Self Service via SAP Internet Sales

This is my first time posting on the SDN, so please forgive my ignorance if this is in the wrong place.  We at Bentley have taken on the massive task of implementing a customer self service solution replacing our Siebel installation.  We are still mapping out how things will work and how it will be architected, but wanted to know if anyone in the community has any white papers on how the security architecture is supposed to look.  Here is our challenges:
    1.  Utilizing multiple info sources including BW (for reporting), CRM (for customer information and sales placement), R/3 (for invoice queries), and many .NET applications.
    2.  Supporting over 300k contacts each with a desire to maintain their own user base.
    3.  Currently utilizing the portal.
Again, we are trying to integrate all above to provide a solid solution for our customers.  SAP Internet Sales looks like a viable option, but that obviously would require a user master record in each SAP system (300k in each?) to support the hierarchy above for reporting, queries, and data entry.
Has anyone else in the community successfully implemented a similiar solution, and if so.. Would you be willing to share some ideas with us?
    Many Kind Regards,

Looking at your profile, I assume you may be able to help. I have Portal connected to my ECC system. We have loaded the latest UCES on the portal and configured XCM. Restarted the J2EE system. Everything seems to be ok, as I can do the connection tests from Portal (JCO) and ECC (RFC).
    When i launch the page - http://portal.com:50000/bdisu - i get the following error -
A general problem has occurred within the logon. The error message is: .
I dont know how to fix it. I created a message with SAP and they said some config need to be done on the backend, while the functional guys are not aware of any. Can you please guide me to fix this error?

Any ideas on a solution for this?
    Thanks!

Yes, you need to follow the path:
swdc > Download > Installations and Upgrades > Entry by Application Group > SAP Application Components > SAP E-COMMERCE FOR SAP R/3 > SAP INTERNET SALES R/3 4.0 > Installation
Here you should find two files.
Direct links to files (hope they work):
    <a href="https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~swdc/012002523100000044422003E/51019974.ZIP?_ACTION=DL_DIRECT">Part I</a>

  • Installation of SAP Internet Sales 4.0

    Hello,
    I've installed the Application Server:
-> https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/downloaditem?rid=/webcontent/uuid/64919927-0b01-0010-e9bf-d1570518023d [original link is broken]
How i can install the Internet Sales 4.0 there?I don't found documentations about this...
    https://websmp108.sap-ag.de/instguides
Where i can find it?What i must do?Can i download the complete application?
    Greets Toni

    Hi Toni,
    please use the URL http://service.sap.com/crm-inst
On the left side go to SAP CRM 4.0 -> E-Commerce Installation Guides
After that there will be two links available - one for 6.20 and one for 6.40. Please check both links as there are documents available under the 6.20 link but can be used under 6.40 too.
Please note that the Application Server you downloaded is very new and the installation guides may not contain the needed info.
The application can be downloaded if you go to http://service.sap.com/patches
    and follow the path:
"Entry by Application Group" -> "SAP Application Components" -> SAP CRM -> CRm 4.0 -> Entry by Component -> E-Selling 640 -> SAP INTERNET SALES WAC_640 -> OS independent
There you can download the latest SAR file that contains the application you need. To extract the SAR file you need the sapcar .exe
After you extract the files you will find two folders - take the COMMON one and there you will find the B2B.ear or the B2C.ear - these are the two main applications.
I hope this will help you. But please note that you need a Backend system to run the applications - CRM or ERP (R/3). Without them you can only deploy it but you will not be able to start the application.
    Cheers
    Borislav

    Hello,
We are using ISA 4.0 SP9 too for R/3.  for upgrading from 4.6C to ECC6.0 you must do nothing..it works than before..only change JCo.
For 4.7 you need a plugin... its called:
    - R/3 Plug-In (PI) 2004.1 for R/3 Enterprise
If you want more informations, please write me at [email protected]

  • SAP Internet Sales R/3

    Hi,
I have some experience in implementing CRM ISA 5.0. What would be the differences if I want to connect to R/3?
    1. Where should we provide whether to connect to R/3 or CRM? If in XCM what is the file that would be updated ?
    2. What are the differences for b2b and b2c scenarios in R/3 and CRM?
Can anyone please provide me the information.
    Thanks,
    Kumar

    Hi
I  have some experience in implementing CRM ISA 5.0. What would be the differences if I want to connect to R/3?
ISA is web application and you can hook ISA on CRM backend or ECC backend depends on your client landscape.
Some client do not have CRM system so they hook ISA on ECC some client has ECC and CRM both they can hook their ISA on CRM.  You can maintain product catalog , ORder management, Contract management etc in CRM or ECC.
IF you hook ISA on CRM system then you have some more functionality like cross/ up sale, Top n products etc...
    1. Where should we provide whether to connect to R/3 or CRM? If in XCM what is the file that would be updated ?
In XCM you have to define JCO connection information. Here you can tell ISA application where it should connect ECC or CRM.
I can't understand "if in XCM what is the file that would be updated?"  generally it is "scenario-config.xml" and "config-data.xml"
    2. What are the differences for b2b and b2c scenarios in R/3 and CRM?
company do regular business with B2B (Business - to - Business) To use ISA B2B customer require to have account created by Company. i.e. company have to first create customer account. Company can set different discount and price for each customer so when customer log in they see their price set by company. You can also set different Catalog view for different B2B customer. To browse catalog you have to first log in to ISA B2B.
For B2C (Business to Customer)it is for retail customer. Customer can create their account by registering on line. When they checkout at that time they have to login.  You cannot set different price for each b2c customer.
This is the general information you should download DEv. & ext.guide from service market place to get more clear idea.
    eCommerce Developer.
Can anyone please provide me the information.

  • CRM 2007 - Internet Sales Step-by-Step document

    Hi Gurus
As per note 544843 I am looking for a document which is supposed to be accessible on the SAP Marketplace but I have not been able to locate it.
Document Name is: SAP Internet Sales: Implementation & Configuration - Step-By-Step
Where can this document be found?
Maximum points for the correct answer.
    Many Thanks
    Panduranga

    Hi,
If I have understood correctly your issue is that you went through C74 - E-Service Building Block Guide, and found a reference for the SAP Note 544843, which in turn refers to the "SAP Internet Sales Configuration and Implementation."
Have you checked for the date of the SAP Note? It is dated 26.08.2002, which is prior to the release of even CRM 4.0! It refers to the above document on the SAP Service Marketplace. The note is Release Independent, however, it is clear that the issues mentioned are for SAP CRM 3.0!
Further if you check the link below, these are the latest guides that were published for CRM 2007, which does not contain C14 - Internet Sales. C74 as I mentioned before, is for E-Service or ICSS (Internet Customer Self Service), which is different from Internet Sales.
    http://help.sap.com/bp_crmv12007/CRM_DE/BBLibrary/html/BBlibrary.htm
Going by the above, I feel I have sent you the absolutely perfect document, please correct me If I'm wrong!
    Thanks & Regards,
    Nelson.

  • Java runtime problem Internet Sales

I am getting a runtime error in the SAP Internet Sales Shop Management tool when I try to create a new shop. I am quite sure my problem is java related because the SAP generated webform fails too fast. There doesn't seem to be any time for abap processing.
Has anyone experienced this before. How can I find out where the problem is?
    Thanks very much,

    Hi Pankaj,
you can try with the first patch of the SP 9 - for example try the file ISAWAC40SP09_0-10002109.SAR. Extract the file using the sapcar program and search for docs.sar file where the documents are.
I hope this will help you.

  • Why products like internet sales not made using WebDynpro-java technology.

    Hi
SAP internet sales product like "Web-shop" and "biller direct" are made using JSP as a scripting language of front end.
Why they were not made using web-dynpro, even though it was a technology from the house of SAP itself.
Is web-dynpro not suitable technology for critical applications like "SAP internet sales".
    Thanks.

    Hi,
This is a proprietary technology from SAP. Which is not portable to any other app servers as of now. May be this was one of the reasons for not opting Webdynpro as  the front end for the internet sales.
Webdynpro was not build just for the Web.
