SAP Itutor on Windows Vista

Hi all,
I have a problem to install the SAP tutor on windows vista.
When I run the installation I get the request of vista for a24414.msi. After that the installation start to run but at the end I get the following error:
"There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact the package vendor".
When I push on the OK -button. Windows does a sort of restore of this installation.
I hope thate someone can help me...

SAP Tutor 2.2 is now released for customers. The functionality and features are same as in the 2.1 version. It is compatible with Windows Vista and Windows XP. Licensed customers can download SAP Tutor 2.1 from the SAP Software Distribution Center. Please refer the note 1071313 for more details.
Hope downloading 2.2 version would solve your issue.

sap needs to be installed locally...some parts, eg. databse files etc. can be spread over sveral disks...but on windows all information needs to be in the registry...
you could install vmware under vista, create a new virtual machine using for example windows 2003 server and install sap into that vm...

SAP GUI for Windows Vista Home Premium

Hello,
Can anybody please tell me which SAP GUI version can be used on Windows Vista Home Premium operating system?
I tried 6.40 version of GUI, but it is not working. If anybody is successfully using SAP GUI on Windows Vista Home Premium, please share info on which version you are using and where to download it from.

I have the same problem.
I have Windows Vista Home Premium Operating System.
After checking some of the sdn forums postings,
I created a folder on C drive and downloaded / saved / ran
[ftp://ftp.sap.com/pub/sapgui/win/710/compilation2/50088654_4.zip] file
and then downloaded / saved latest patch
[ftp://ftp.sap.com/pub/sapgui/win/710/patches/gui710_9.exe] into the same folder.
Then i tried to run setup.bat file, but was unsuccessful.
Then, I ran SapGuiSetup.exe file .and followed the steps needed for SAP Front End Installation wizard as listed in the screenshots in [http://cba.uah.edu/tutorials/sap.html]
After restarting the system, I clicked on the SAP Logon icon.
But, I am NOT able to see to see any systems there.
Please help!

SAP problem with Windows Vista

I have purchased a Laptop with Windows Vista OS having Internet explorer 7.0 and loaded SAP GUI 6.40 with patch 20. I am facing the following problems:
1. Not able to execute CJ20N transaction
2. Heirarchy reports are not showing column descriptions
3. Some standard reports are not able to be executed
4. Not able to get connected to my client thru Cisco VPN
5. Not able to reply in webmails
Also some times my system is taking lot of time to execute simple commands and shutdown.
Can anybody help me how to resolve these?

Installing SAP EP on windows Vista

Hi,
I am new to SAP EP, I have a m/c with windows vista installed and good hardware configuration. I want to install the SAP EP components available on the downloads section of SDN site.
In the requirements section I do not see any mention of windows vista, but all other windows O/S are specified.
Your inputs will be highly valuable for me further proceed and install the components.

currently SAP EP is not supported by windows vista. But u can try installing the product by changing the Owner of gpsvc to Administrators and then provide Full Control to the Administrators group.hope it works

I am getting a Dump error while logging in to the SAP GUI 7.10( After Giving user name and Password) in Windows vista( Business 32 Bit OS).
Error log as follows, Could anyone pls give me solution.
Information on where terminated |
Termination occurred in the ABAP program "SAPLOLEA" - in "AC_SYSTEM_FLUSH".
The main program was "SAPLSMTR_NAVIGATION ".
In the source code you have the termination point in line 32
of the (Include) program "LOLEAU02".

Eventhough the Installation is successful, the SAP Gui is working hardly 3 to 5 days.
Again its throwing the same dump error after giving user name password.
Is there any security needs to be improved ( Antivirus).
Note:After installation of GUI, there is no external/other application is installed in these days.
Please suggest me on this to solve the issue.

No.
Vista is a CLIENT operating system. If you want to use Windows use Windows 2003 or Windows 2008.
http://service.sap.com/pam contains valid platform/database combinations.

I installed SQL-2005 on windows vista home edition and also installed SAP B1-2007B-PL09 but it shows error connection with License server failed and SAP B1 service manager-License Manager 2007 are also disable .so my question is it SAP b1 support Windows vista-home edition.pl suggest me solution.

Sudhir,
Windows Vista home edition is not a supported Operating system.
That being said, the reason that your license manager is not enabled is more than likely not due to this fact.
Close the server tools, and relaunch but this time right-click and 'run as administrator' this should enable all the options and allow the license server to start.
You may also want to view the system requirements PDF available in the SAP B1 document resource center, this should give you some insight into supported platforms.

Since Vista + Server 2008 use the same codebase patches of the latter note apply also to Vista. Keep in mind that this does NOT work with Vista Home (Premium).

Netweaver 7.01 SR1 (latest) installation problem on Windows Vista

1. I'm getting the following problem with Netweaver 7.01 SR1 (latest available on SAP server) on Windows Vista. Yes, main installation requirement page says I can install it on Vista.

PLease help me on this. I've tried to install and uninstall 15 times but all in vain.
I wonder why there are no proper installation guides with installer. Installation Html pages are 'no help' at all.
2. For problems during NETWEAVER TRIAL installation, a lot of links/guide are a pointed to services.sap.com which asks for login and password.
I don't have any login and password.

Installing Netweaver on Windows Vista.

Hi All,
I brought a laptop, which runs vista on it, i want to install Netweaver on this, but when i double click on sapservercmd for installing oracle, this just flashes and closes immediately.
Please help in solving this problem and also please give me steps to install Netweaver on windows vista.

Installation of SAP NW on windows vista is not possible,
don't try and waste your time.
if you want to install than install it on windows2000 or windows2003
further more look at service.sap.com/pam

David is correct.. first version of SAP Business One that are supported by Vista is SBO2007A PL03

SAP GUI issue with Portal on Windows Vista

Hello. I am using Windows Vista on my laptop. We use the portal to access our SAP systems. I have SAP GUI 7.1 installed on my machine. When I click my WIN GUI link from inside the portal I get a download file request. I download the file, however I have to click on the WIN GUI link a second time for the GUI to actually open I am using IE 7.0 as well.
Please advise if you know how to resolve this issue.

I have gone thru couple of postings in the SDN and disabled firewall but no use.

I think suggested one not available in SDN I guess.
If I am not wrong, I can get it from Service.sap.com....
Can you give me the complete path in the service.sap.com if you know....
If this would not click, alternatively I am planning to change my operating system to Windows XP, this is not a good idea but I dont have option.
