SAP JRA Start Session Dynamic Connection

Hi, I have several JRA connections correctly configured on on SAP Mii. I now need to be able the connection dynamically on SAP JRA Start Session based on a user specified value.
The only property available on the SAP JRA Start Session action block is the FactoryName ([this seems to be the default case on vesrions 12.1 or later|http://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2146888]). When I try to pass a value to the property FactoryName, the connection goes through as successful no matter what the input is (even if it is an incorrect value).
How will I be able to dynamically specify which connection it should use?
Using SAP Mii Version 12.1.7 build(50).
Thank you.

Hi
If you are checking the staus of the Start Session action to see if it connected successfully or not then you will always see success as the actual connection only happens during the JRA Function Call action.
So you will need to check the status of the Function call that follows the Start Session.

Partha

  • JRA Start Session

    Hello,
I've tried JRA connectivity with a single SAP and I managed it to work.
However, It's not clear to me how can I choose, in a JRA Start Session action block, the connection parameters to the server (server name, instance, username, password, ecc.). I think it uses what I have specified in the JRA definition on Netweaver, during the RAR deployment.
So when I deploy the JRA adapter I can specify connection settings, but when I use the JRA Start Session action I don't have the possibility to recall them. So if I N have multiple connections to different SAP systems via JRA, should I have to deploy N resource adapters with different settings? And how to choose the corrent configuration in the Start Session Action Block?
I hope to have been clear...
    thank for your help
    Mauro

The connection properties are defined within the visual administrator.  It's under the server - services - connector container.  Under your connector you should have eis/SAPJRAFactory, you can clone this and then set the properties under managed connection factory to the needed server.

  • Dynamic Connection Pool Creation Failing in a cluster

    Hi,
I am trying to create a connection pool in a clustered environment. This connection
pool is created lazily behind a Stateless Session Bean. We first attempt to determine
whether, the connection pool exists using JdbcServices.poolExists(someName), and
create it if it does not exist. A failure occurs on creation because it looks
like the connection pool might have been created by a bean on a different weblogic
VM instance. Is there any way to dynamically create a connection pool and make
it visible to the whole cluster? Thanks in advance for any help. Michael Dolbear

The only way to do it is using MBeans. You could search this newsgroup
for "JDBCConnectionPoolMBean" to get an idea of how it could be done.

    Slava,
I am working with Mike on this issue and wanted to add some moreclarifications.
We have a two server cluster where one of the EJB's on one of the Managedservers
creates the connection pool. The problem comes in when a request comes tothe
second server in the cluster. The connection pool is created by the firstserver
but it is only assigned to the first server in the targets section on theconsole.
It isn't assigned to the cluster. Is there a way to programmaticallyassign the
pool to the cluster instead of just the server that created the pool?

    Hi Michael,
Could you show us the code? Without looking at the code
I can only say that JdbcServices.poolExists(someName)
returns true only in case the pool is up and running.
If the connection pool MBean was created but not assigned
a target, subsequent tries to create it would fail.

    Hi,
I am trying to create a connection pool in a clustered environment. This
    connection
pool is created lazily behind a Stateless Session Bean. We first
    attempt
    to determine
whether, the connection pool exists usingJdbcServices.poolExists(someName), and
create it if it does not exist. A failure occurs on creation becauseit
    looks
like the connection pool might have been created by a bean on a
    different
    weblogic
VM instance. Is there any way to dynamically create a connection pooland
    make
it visible to the whole cluster? Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Dynamic Connection to different servers are not working

    Hi All,
I am trying to create a SSIS Package that loops through a table containing the server names and fetching results from all the servers.
    Created two variables
    --list is an object
    --itr is an string variable
I have created a table "Serverlist" that contains all the servernames,
and using a OLE DB connection with a property "Servername" --> user::itr. used for loop through all the servers in for Each loop.
The execution is started, showing the results for one server and failed with the below error"
"[OLE DB Source [29]] Error: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_CANNOTACQUIRECONNECTIONFROMCONNECTIONMANAGER.  The AcquireConnection method call
to the connection manager "src" failed with error code 0xC0202009.  There may be error messages posted before this with more information on why the AcquireConnection method call failed.
[SSIS.Pipeline] Error: OLE DB Source failed validation and returned error code 0xC020801C."
    Any suggestions are welcome.

    Hi,
Are you passing the correct servername, password, login, database in your connection string??
Are you getting the value at runtime?
Try this: Click on the package and on the property try to set the DelayValidation=True.
If the DelayValidation is true the package will validate the connections before it execute. If DelayValidation is false it will validate when the package is running.
So if you have a dynamic connection I suggest you set it the DelayValidation=False

  • SAP JRA in Adapter module

We are developing an Adapter module for "File Sender Adapter" and in that we have a requirement to call an RFC. We are trying to use SAP JRA (Java Resource Adapter) for doing this as we do not want to hard code the password in the module by using direct JCO connections.
Using JRA we are able to invoke RFC in our adapter module but the message payload does not go to the next module (Standard module) in the chain. We identified that as soon as we get the connection handle using statement:
           Connection connection = connectionfactory.getConnection();
message is not going to next module in the chain. We are also not getting any error or exception anywhere. It is just that the message is not getting processed. Any help or idea would be appreciated.
    Regards

    Hi Amol
I was not able to this today as I do not having authorization in our development system for exposing RFC as webservice and waiting for the authorization.
I want to know if I expose the RFC as webservice in development server, will it be transported via normal ABAP transport procedure in the landscape (will this require any change in config etc.) or I need to expose it separately in different server.

Yes i am on x86_64 bit Windows 2003 SP1, 4.6D kernel is running in 32-bit mode.Database sits on a diffrent host and is upgraded to Oracle 10.2.0.2.
In that case , do i need install PREPARE in 32 bit mode so that all executables in put\exe will be working in 32 bit mode.
Could you please also look into note,
    906205 - Upgrading SAP system <= 4.6 on x86_64 Windows
Actions after PREPARE (before you start the upgrade)
    1. -
    2. Unpack ORACLE Client 10.2 into directories \usr\sap\put\exe and \usr\sap\<SID>\sys\exe\run.
    a) Mount the CD which contains the ORACLE 10.2 client software and change to subdirectory OCL_WINDOWS_X86_64.
    b) Start a command prompt and change into directory \usr\sap\put\exe.
    c) Type 'sapcar.exe -xvf <DIR>\OCL10264.SAR'.
    d) Start a command prompt and change into directory \usr\sap\<SAPSID>\sys\exe\run.
    e) Type 'sapcar.exe -xvf <DIR>\OCL10264.SAR'
As per the note, 64 bit client has to uncarred "After Prepare before Upgrade", since the tools in /usr/sap/put/exe are not able to connect to the database since they are in 64 bit mode, and my Initialization phase fails, i uncarred the client into put/exe during PREPARE.
Please guide. What problems should i anticipate in the PREPARE phase when it builds shadow instance.
    Govind.

  • Giving START WITH dynamically in a query

    Hi,
How do you specify the value in START WITH dynamically during runtime.
For example please consider the bewlo scenario:

Now if you create a view:
    create or replace view test_v
    (ITEM_NO, ITEM_TYPE, ITEM_NO_SCO,ITEM_TYPE_SCO)
    as
    SELECT T.ITEM_NO, T.ITEM_TYPE, CONNECT_BY_ROOT T.ITEM_NO_SCO,T.ITEM_TYPE_SCO
    FROM
    SELECT NVL(C.ITEM_NO_CHILD, I.ITEM_NO) ITEM_NO, NVL(C.ITEM_TYPE_CHILD, I.ITEM_TYPE) ITEM_TYPE, I.ITEM_TYPE_SCO, I.ITEM_NO_SCO
    FROM isct I,
    icont C
    WHERE I.ITEM_NO = C.ITEM_NO(+)
    AND I.ITEM_TYPE = C.ITEM_TYPE(+)
    ) T
    CONNECT BY PRIOR T.ITEM_NO = T.ITEM_NO_SCO AND PRIOR T.ITEM_TYPE = T.ITEM_TYPE_SCO;
    Then run the below query:
    select * from test_v where item_no_sco = '00245905'
the output is got within a second. but the real scenario is that both table icont and isct have millions of rows. In that case even this small query of the view takes 10minutes as there a FULL TABLE JOIN.
How do I give the START WITH in the view to make it faster i.e.
even with millions of rows the output of this comes in seconds:
    SELECT T.ITEM_NO, T.ITEM_TYPE, CONNECT_BY_ROOT T.ITEM_NO_SCO,T.ITEM_TYPE_SCO
    FROM
    SELECT NVL(C.ITEM_NO_CHILD, I.ITEM_NO) ITEM_NO, NVL(C.ITEM_TYPE_CHILD, I.ITEM_TYPE) ITEM_TYPE, I.ITEM_TYPE_SCO, I.ITEM_NO_SCO
    FROM isct I,
    icont C
    WHERE I.ITEM_NO = C.ITEM_NO(+)
    AND I.ITEM_TYPE = C.ITEM_TYPE(+)
    ) T
    START WITH T.ITEM_NO_SCO = '00245905'
    CONNECT BY PRIOR T.ITEM_NO = T.ITEM_NO_SCO AND PRIOR T.ITEM_TYPE = T.ITEM_TYPE_SCO;
I want to summarize the above the post, you can use START WITH in a stand alone query, in a function etc. But how do you use it in a VIEW?
    Thanks,
    Vikram

    Hi,
    Thanks for the quick replies.
I was more looking for a solution with only SQL i.e I dont want to go for any package or outside variable.
Isn't there a way to achieve this through advanced SQL?
Also why when I create a join in a query having connect by without start with it does a full table scan of the joined table, isnt there a better way to create a join, I mean there is no need to run the whole view at a time, it would be run with a input but why isnt the connect by using to input as a START WITH!
    Thanks,
VikramBut the solution is "only SQL", that you have to initialize a variable doesn't change that fact.
If you absolutely can't make that solution work, you could code this in DYNAMIC SQL, but that would much more 'bad' than the suggested implementation.
Why exactly do you need a view at all for this?
    SELECT
      NVL(C.ITEM_NO_CHILD, I.ITEM_NO)     as ITEM_NO,
      NVL(C.ITEM_TYPE_CHILD, I.ITEM_TYPE) as ITEM_TYPE,
      CONNECT_BY_ROOT I.ITEM_NO_SCO       as ITEM_NO_SCO,
      I.ITEM_TYPE_SCO
    FROM  isct  I,
          icont C
    WHERE I.ITEM_NO = C.ITEM_NO(+)
    AND I.ITEM_TYPE = C.ITEM_TYPE(+)
    start with I.ITEM_NO_SCO = :YOUR_BIND_VARIABLE
CONNECT BY PRIOR I.ITEM_NO = I.ITEM_NO_SCO AND PRIOR I.ITEM_TYPE = I.ITEM_TYPE_SCO;Is about as simple as it gets, no need for a view ... no need for anything flashy. What is your justification behind 'needing' a view for this?

  • SAP JRA and JBoss again

    Hi there,
I like to use SAP JRA within a JBoss Application Server, I use the rar-file provided by Web AS. I knew that there were other posts regarding this topic, but they did not really answer my question:
    The Thread
    JCO and JRA under JBoss
    says:
u201Cthat you use in JBoss the standalone JCO. But JRA needs the JCO provided withing SAP Web AS.u201C
I get the same error mentioned in the Thread above. Does the above mentioned mean if I use the JCO provided within SAP WEB AS in JBoss than this will work? Iu2019m really confused can you help me??
    Thank you all!!

A few more hints, the quick version
JRA via BLS logfiles are usually placed in
C:\usr\sap\<SID>\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0\, in my case called dev_rfc.trc.
JRA Connections can be found and verified with the following tool.
http://localhost:port -> Web dynpro -> Web dynpro console -> Jco connection pools.
In Visual administrator -> Server0 -> Services -> Connector container -> Your JRA name. Select the connection name belov and select tab Managed connection factory, then properties.
Here you can add one of the following
Trace      - Enable/disable trace on all middleware layers(true or false). On default is false.
TraceRFC   - Enable/disable RFC trace (true or false). On default is false.
TraceJCO   - Enable/disable JCO trace (0 for none, 10 for highest level). On default 0. Type Integer.
TraceJRA   - Enable/disable JRA trace (0 for none, 10 for highest level). On default 0. Type Integer.
Which enables further logging, also found in the dir.
    C:\usr\sap\<SID>\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0\.

  • In RAC Database All sessions are connecting to Node1 only

    Hi Gurus,
    Oracle RAC 10R2.
    OS: IBM AIX
We have two node RAC instance. When I checked, all sessions are connecting to NODE1. and node2 is not having any worload.
can you guys suggected me from where I start troubleshooting.
    Thanks,
    Chinmay

    Hi Chinmay,
Check for active_instance_count parameter in database. If it's value is 1, database connection will go to only one instance. To check to which instance it will go you can use below query.
    select INSTANCE_NAME,HOST_NAME,INSTANCE_ROLE from gv$instance;
Instance_role has two value: active instance (=primary instance) or a passive instance (secondary instance).
Connection will always go to active instance only.

  • Internet sessions, VPN session, and connections dropping frequently

I'm in an apartment. This problem started about a week ago. All of my browser sessions, vpn session, and connections such as AIM or netflix drop frequently. I often have to click links twice to get a page to load. I have to reload videos a lot to get them to continue to stream. I am constantly signing in and out of AOL IM.
I believe the problem has to do with several MoCs (coax connections) listed on my router page, and these MoCs have names of other people on them. Until I noticed them a week ago, I had only seen one MoC belonging to me listed on the router connection page.
Thus, I think that something got crossed up of misconfigured in the ONT for my apartment complex. The gateway light on my router stays green as all of these problems happen.
    Pinging google.com, I get

Anyone seen this before and know how to get verizon to fix this?

I am sorry to hear about your connection problems. I have sent you a private message so we can get your information and look more deep into your connection.

    Hi Norm,
Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    (Repair both Drives)

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)

  • SAP JRA on JBoss AS

    Hi there,
I am trying to call BAPI methods on an ECC server from inside an Java EE server (JBoss AS). I can use JCO to accomplish this, and I am interested in using connection pools. I do know that JCO has built-in mechanisms in handling this (JCO connection pools), but upon reading the SAP JRA, I thought that that would be a much more elegant and proper solution, given that it complies with JCA. Can JRA be used on JBoss? If anyone can point me to useful information on integrating this with JBoss and some code examples it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

    hi jose,
we can integrate the portal of jboss in one side and sap ep in other side and the we can make the connection as two way by using fedarated network portal.  jboss portal  user can make the request from jboss portal  he can get the data from sap portal

  • How to use one dynamic connection managers for multiple parallel data flow tasks

    hi there:
I have 6 databases residing on the same server. What I want to do is  call a store procedure with identical name on each database dbo schema and transport results to a centralized place. The key is to have those SPs run in parallel instead
of in sequence as each SP may take around 10 mins to finish.
The simplest way is to create 6 OLE DB connection managers and create 6 DFT tasks. However, I do not want to maintain 6 OLE DB connection managers as there is a chance to have more connection  managers.
What I did so far is to create a OLD DB connection manager and use expression to set up connectionString properties so that it will get populated by variables at run time. It is fine when running all SPs in a Foreach Loop Container. However, it takes
    around 60 mins to finish.
When I try to run it in parallel ( basically created 6 DFTs but use only one Dynamic Connection Manager), the connection string gets confused therefore all DFT tasks failed.
Does anyone here have some experience on this topic?
    Thanks
     hui

Yes, basically, on the connectionString property of ONE OLEDB, you are using an expression to supply value and this expression is pointing to a variable.
In this case , you can update this variable from a table which contains many connection strings. It's good if you want to execute Store procedures in a sequential order. When in parallel mode, this will cause issues as connectionString gets overwritten.
I am thinking about using script task to exec sp.
The whole idea is that I do not want to maintain a large number of Connection Managers.
    Hope it helps
--Currently using Reporting Service 2000; Visual Studio .NET 2003; Visual Source Safe SSIS 2008 SSAS 2008, SVN --
So you are not able to run parallel executions using same conn mgmr, even with dynamic connectionstring, is that correct? Yes, script task will be a way to go if you wish to execute it in parallel, you may connect to SS and query the proper conn string with
SELECT/WHERE clause in each script > pass it to a script variable > use that script variable and execute the proc. This will require only two things to change in each script, the WHERE condition to get the conn string and the proc name (you may even
get the proc names the same way you get conn string) and everything else will be same. Let us know how that goes.
Hope no two or more procs doing insert/update/delete on the same tables.
