SAP License Problem in EP System

Hi
After completed the EP 7.0 ((SAP EHP1 for SAP Netweaver 7.0) installation on Sunsolaries with Oracle 10g. I start with the license installation.
I manage to get the license ,but when i try to install the license into the server it show invalid.. i already key in everything correctly still invalid.
i try to install the license manually using "saplicense" command it show this error.

I have already applied the SAPlicense through Visual Administrator.
start the Visual Administrator tool (usr\sap\SID\JC<xx>\j2ee\admin\go) and from there you can find the "Licensing Adapter" when you select correct server and "Services" underneath it.
But the problem is while executing the saplicense -show at OS level... i am getting below error..
qepadm> saplicense -show
SAPLICENSE (Release 701) ERROR ***

License problems with RAID systems

We are running a Labview vision 8.0 application on a XP SP2 system with RAID controller. The purpose is to be able to quickly recover from any harddisk problems. Do I have to reactivate the licenses when I swap the harddisks?

Hi,
As your RAID controller is just an external harddrive, the vision license is essentially running on the same machine so the same license can be used on different controllers.
There's no need to deactivate for each controller, as long as the license is being used on one system I don't believe you would be violating the licensing agreement.

Sap license problem

Hi,
I cannot get SAP to allow me to login with anything other than sap*. I would like to use the "developer" account.
When I type saplicense -show I get the information below and it says "license usable." However, when I type saplicense -test developer, I get:
***Can not read profile parameter SAPSYSTEMNAME Start saplicense with -test pf=<profile>
I have tried NW4, LNX, nw4host, nw4adm as well as the profile and I get the same error. I think the problem is that the certification thinks the SAPSYSTEMNAME is LNX, where as SAPSYSTEMNAME is actually defined as NW4.
How do I resolve this?

Music license problems on new system

I just transferred my son's music collection to a new computer. Over the years, my son has purchased music under a couple of different accounts. Finally, we changed his account to his own email. All the music he had previously purchased plays and syncs fine on his old computer. On his new computer, some of the older music asks for the old account, which, by the way, no longer exist! What is the best way to get this music to his new computer. Apparently, when we changed the name of his account, Apple did not change the licenses on the music. Do I need to make a CD, and then bring that over to the new system? Thanks for your help.....

Contact Apple customer support and request that they get the authorizations straightened out. Apparently they did not correctly handle the name change. Pls let us know when this works.
My advice is still the same. Since you can use the tracks on the old PC, use the old PC to burn them to an audio CD., which can then be used like any audio CD.
And for future reference, avoid buying DRM-protected tracks. The authorization thereof could be a lifelong distraction. Non-DRM tracks are readily available in the marketplace today.

SAP License key

Dear All,
We have an issue with system number in our production system.
We have generated SAP license key for production during our SAP implimentations. But after that due to some major problem we have again reinstall SAP system and regenerate SAP License key. Now both the SAP License key has different system number. Old one license key we have deleted from SAP Supprt portal.
How can change the system number in my landscap as per the registered with SAP Support portal.
Can I delete existing license from my SAP System and reinstall latest downloded key ?

Well you should have ordered the new license under the same system.

Yes, that is what you have to do now. If your installation number changed, then you will have to delete the old licenses first. Then you will be able to install the new license.

SAP user licensing - service users and system users

Hello,
In SAP licensing process, will it count service users and system users for the license.
(or licensing occurs only to the dialog users)
In the license agreement , it is not mentioned.
(Mentioned as 500 user license only)

SAP License issue after system refresh.

After system refresh, refreshed system has License info of source system. When trying to apply license from unix, it gives below error, saying system number is incorrect to apply new license. Looks the system number of source system is causing issue. I checked, there is no data in MLICHECK table. I could see some info in "saplikey" table. System is 700 system.

This system's system number is "000000000710287641", but there is a license key

First check whether you have deleted all invalid licenses?
use below command to delete invalid licenses
sidadm>saplicense -delete
And apply new license based on new hardwarekey with below command
sidadm>saplicense -install
*I think there should be some invalid licenses lying in your system

Login to SAP system with any client and select the Menu Item System ---> status.
You can see the Version info, License info, Support Pack levels, Database and OS details.

NetWeaver Licensing Problem

We continue to have problems requesting and installing the Permanent license for our NW Web AS 6.4 J2EE install. The software that was shipped to us is SAP NetWeaver 04 SR1 Oracle HP-UX, which is the Platform Database combination of our R3 system. However, we are installing the NW on a Windows 2003 platform with a SQL Server 2000 database. Having a different platform/ DB combination between NW and R3 shouldn't be that unusual, is it?
When I apply for the license I am forced to enter Oracle for my backend DB, otherwise if I enter a SQL Server I only receive a temporary license. So when I receive the permanent license and try to install it I get an error message 'The digital signature of the license key for product "J2EE-Engine_ORA" could not be verified. License key file d:\nw\licensekey\JTS_J2EE.txt does not contain any valid SAP license keys. License key(s) not completely installed'.
We have explained to the SAP reps that we are installing NW on a different platform/DB combination then our R3 set-up, but they continue to ship us the Oracle HP-UX combination.
How can we get past this licensing issue?

We tried doing this once and SAP told us that we would have to pay for two licenses as with the license you are also paying for a runtime version of the database. We ended up going back to AIX for our portal.

Try this, saplicense -test pf=<Profile> TRACE=2. This will you locate the source of the problem.

What product to use with EHP1 FOR SAP SRM 7.0 JAVA System

Hello,
I install EHP1 FOR SAP SRM 7.0 JAVA system and now I what create this system in SAP Support Portal.
What product should I select: SAP SRM or SAP Netweaver?
If I select SAP SRM, in version I don't have option to select SRM 7.0 EHP1 and no Technical usage to select.
If I select SAP Netweaver, in version I have SAP Netweaver EHP2 and I can select Technical usage "Application server java" and "EP Core" but not SRM java.
In Solution Manager I have the same problem, what products shoul I select to create this system in SMSY?
This JAVA system is not in the same network so I don't know how to synchronize system data.

SAP told us to register the license of SAP SRM in ERP installation number only and when I am creating the SRM system in ERP installation number stuck in the same situaltion as it's not giving an option for SRM EHP1 and not sure what to select for the license and what in SMSY.

Unable to install SAP license

We have just upgraded our SAP system from 4.6C to ECC6.0 and are now having problem trying to install SAP license.
The hardware key field is greyed out and we are not able to make any entry there and as a result, even if we can "import" the license, it is of no use.
Pls help.

Basically you can either perform at SAP ABAP level using SLICENSE or it's still possible to install license at OS level also.
If nothing works out, for now (until you find the fix) you even go with temporary license.

SAP License after copyback

I have built a test system from a copyback of our DEV system so I can test applying the latest support packs, before doing them on our proper landscape.
The test system has the same SID as our DEV system, but is on a different server, I installed a temp license, but then had to go working away for a few weeks, when I returned the temp license had expired, I can get on as SAP* but no other user as expected.
I requested a new license for the test system from SAPNET, but when I registered the test system, it has a different system number to the DEV system, so the license is invalid when I try to use it , the license information is all the same for the test system, apart from the HARDWARE key has changed, do I have to change the hardware key registered on SAPNET for our proper DEV system, to get a valid license for the new test system?
We are running ECC5 on MS/SQL.

The reason I wanted to keep the same SID is that I am testing applying support packs to the DEV environment, so I wanted TADIR entries etc to be the same as the DEV system, we are halfway through a european implementation, so access to DEV downtime is limited, so I wanted to apply support packs to a test environment not in the TMS landscape, so i could get an idea on timings and SPAU/SPDD problems before applying the support packages to the real landscape.
I thought the best way would be to generate a new license key for the current DEV system, after changing the Hardware key on SAPNET, I just wanted to make sure this would not affect the actual DEV system, invalidating the proper license, as I do not want the proper DEV system affected by licensing the new TEST system.
Once I've tested the support packs, I will be deleting the test system, as its on a borrowed server !!! so its just a temporary change, I had hoped to do all this on the TEMP license, but as soon as it was built, I was sent to work elsewhere !!!

SAP license key error: no valid license found: cannot log into SAP GUI

I deleted temp license from slicense on SM box, since I had already installed new digital license from SAP. Well, later I tried to log in again and was locked out. After some research, I found "sap license check failed" in the log files, java will not come up, and the hardware key has changed on me, so the valid license that was active before is not showing up now.
I applied for a new license with new hardware key and attempted to install from cmd prompt, using saplicense -install ifile=c:license.txt, but it gets an error. I put a trace on it and appears it cannot read license file key. I also tried to install another temp license, but that failed since no other previous valid license was found. At this point, I'm thinking I need to manually insert the license key into the database, but not sure what table or exactly how. SAP has not provided a solution yet.
I believe the hardware key changed due to renaming the server (we took out a hyphen in name) and had also reinstalled afterwards.
Has anyone else run into this issue?

Yes, I wish it were that simple, but I cannot even bring up the logon screen. SAP GUI returns a message, resource temporarily unavailable. I looked in SAP MMC syslog and found several entries, "SAP-Basis System: No license found for hardware ID DLIC_HWIDKE"
I tried to install temp license from cmd prompt, but it says refuses and says no old or expired license found. I also tried to install the new license I applied for from SAP with new hardware key using saplicense -install ifile=license.txt and that failed as well.
For NW2004s, is it even possible to install a digital license using cmd prompt?

Why does BR*Tools return with the error, No Valid SAP license?

We are using BRTools 640 on HPUX and Oracle 9.2 Now we use BRTools on the other systems where Oracle resides, but when they got installed on this new system it creates the error: Invalid SAP license.
There is no SAP installed on any of the systems. I am coming into the middle of this and have sratched my head over it until I am now balder than I was before.
The ora<SID> user is there and so is the <SID>adm. The directories are ok with the correct rights and permissions. So what am I missing? I know it has to be something that I am missing. Any help out there?

No this did not resolve the issue. Here is what happen.
Implemented note 586618 and then completed the semophore part. That worked as is it should. Then tired a simple BRARCHIVE and this is what I got:

This is somewhat irritating because as you I though and you probably did also, note 584418 should have fixed it.
I have searched the OSS, but to no avail..so if you have any suggestions it would be appreciated. The really weird thing is it works on other systems. I think something is just missing and I am just too blind right now to see it.
