Hi Experts,
We have a requirement to convert PO to PDF and send it as an e-mail attachment which is possible .
But the requirement is to add digital signature to the PO and send it as E-mail attachment.
Also once vendor confirms and signs the same document and scans it and send it through e-mail as attachment. This document should be stored in Sap and linked to PO.
I am working on ECC 6.0.
Any pointers to receive an email attachment, store in SAP & link to PO would be great.

SAP Link in Word Document

Hi,
Here is the situation. We have a word document stored in third party system. It has got links to SAP (through fields in [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005/helpdata/en/aa/8c27fbaed511d3957200a0c92f024a/content.htm] word) . Now I want to put a default value to the field, So that it always carries that value when the link between SAP and third party system is not active. I know its possible in Word 2000(using switch /d). But what about later versions? What switch to use .. Please help out. Its kind of urgent.

Hi Tschareck,
According to your description , my understanding is that you want to update the excel chart data when editing the chart in the word.
As a workaround, I suggest you can use SharePoint ItemUpdated Event Receiver, when you updated the chart data in the word, then reupload the excel file in the event receiver.

In which SAP table attchment link stores ?

Dear All,
I have connected SAP to one external DMS as a content server.
It is working fine
my scenario:
say for example i create a finance document(business object BKPF) and attach the link of the document which is lying there in my DMS and its link is there in SAP table TOA01
query : once i attach a document to this finance document , where this link of attachment gets stored?

As rightly pointed by you, links get stored in the SAP link tables as per the configuration vix TOA01, TOA02,TOA03,TOAHR.
these table contains the link of the document which are lying there in DMS
my query is once i want to attach any of this link (for ex : i created a finace document in tcode FB03 (BO : BKPF) and then i attached a link of these documents lying in DMS ... using option create attachment)
now my query is where is this link of attachment gets stored

SAP -MM

Hi,
I am not able to post CVD, some error "all part 1 entries for this excise has been cancelled".
I have checked with supply chain mgmt people, they have done all the GR correctly and Part 1 also done.
In our organisation CVD posting is done "J1EX_P", where in you have to put the internal number and then post CVD/Excise invoice.
Pls suggest some solution for this error.

Excel to SAP R/3

Hi All,
I need to create automation for uploading Excel data onto SAP R/3 using VBA.Have never done this before.Hence a few questions.
1.Once SAP is installed what references do i need to put in the VB Editor under Tools->references in order to connect to SAP and use its objects?
2.Can i achieve uploading of data from Excel using ODCBC.
3.I searched the net for excel to SAP links and found a term called RFC functions.What is RFC.
4.Do we need ABAP coding as well to achieve the same?
If someone can help me with the code for uploading data from excel to SAP,it would be great.Any reply in this regard will be highly appreciated.

okay, here we go. As said before, I'll post here a series of comments outlining the use of webservices in the office2003 family to interact with an NW ABAP backend.
Specs: Office2003 with the Webservice Toolkit installed (Gregor's link; read the instructions carefully, especially make sure that you have the MSXML3.0-dll installed too); ABAP 6.40+ (I'll use a 7.0 system here); PHP5.2.0 with soap enabled for some quick tests;
In this first and easiest example we will specify a report within a Word document and download the coding to the Word document.
First we create the webservice on the backend, that is, a function module and let run the webservice wizard over it:

We open a MS Word Document and go to Tools|Macro|VisualBasic Editor. Inside the Editor we go to menu Tools and find an entry 'web service references' (unfortunately I've a German Version of Word at hand at the moment so I've got to guess a little, what the English menu entries might be called). If you do not find such an entry, your SOAP Toolkit installation did not work.
Choosing this we get a dialog which, in the lower left corner allows to select 'webservice URL'. Enable this and enter the URL mentioned before. Click Search. If everything works, we get a description of our webservice in the right hand side box.
Select the webservice found (mark the checkbox) and click 'Add'. This creates some VBA proxy classes representing your webservice.
In the VisualBasic Editor they can be found on the left hand side box under Project|Class Modules. They are

When executed (Tools|Macro|Macros->read), this macro pops up an input box, allowing you to enter a programme name, then downloads the coding of that report, formats it a little (10 pt Arial monospaced for SAP) and pastes it into our word document.
Voilá, done.
What have we learnt so far:
- installing the SOAP toolkit into Office2003
- testing a webservice using commandline PHP
- creating webservice proxy functions in VBA
- allow dynamic user interaction with the document (input box) and therefore subsequently with the webservice
- calling a webservice from within an Office document (i.e. passing data to the ABAP Service & retrieving data from it)
Basically, that is all you need to start. It works the same in every Office application. The better you know VBA now (especially the trilions of classes within the various applications) the fancier applications you can build. I'll try to chip in some ideas thereof in the next days.

Hello Sarath,
here are some points you should keep in mind:
1. Download both parts of the trail version from SAP --> link to it
2. Each of both should have a size of about 1.4GB
3. Save both files in the same directory
4. Extract part1 with a zip-program like WinZip or WinRAR
5. Check that you have about 15 or 20GB of free space
6. Check that your hostname isn't longer than 13 characters
7. Verify that your computer is ping-able by the ip-adress and the hostname
8. Your user account has to be in the administrator-group of the computer
9. Deactivate the installed antivirus- and firewall-program while installing
10. If you had an older trail version already installed please check the steps in the first part of the following site to clean up your computer --> link to it ("Error code = 200...")
11. Stop all running programs, go to the extracted folder, start the start.htm, click on the entry Installation in the right navigation and finally start the Installer
12. Lean back for about an hour and cross the fingers that it will work
Also please don't use Vista - it isn't supported at the moment.

Congratulations for the book: Abap Developement for SAP Netweaver BI: User exits and BadIs.
We're trying to implement the suggestions on the chapter 5.1.1 Interface of function module EXIT_SAPLRSR0_001 (page 136), however, we're having problens with the abap sintax CALL_FUNCTION l_d_name IF FOUND.
The command IF FOUND is not accepted.
It'll be very helpful to avoid issues on tranporting include zxrsru01.
I appreciate any additional help on how to implement it.

There are many ways you can integrate SAP with any RCM tool including Meridium.
RCM is a strategy which has been used by defense since 1950s and it is becoming one of the maintenance strategies which is becoming popular in other industries too.
There are many different approaches to RCM including some streamlined versions of it. You can find lots of information on it in google. To my knowledge the only commercial standards in the market are SAE 1011 and 1012. Besides these, you can find hundreds of military documents which are open for public.
The main driver here is the Notification and failure information you capture. The information captured will be sent to the RCM tool. RCM tool will run different analysis including Weibull analysis and determine what should be the best approach to keep the assets performing better. The decision can be:
1) Run to failure
2) Maintenance Plan(s)
3) CBM
Now, although there are several interfaces ready to plug in between SAP and Meridium, what I recommend is a staged approach. Maybe 1) Link the notifications, 2) Improve the required data in Notifications which are needed in RCM tool 3) Determine the new strategies from within RCM and manually upload them in SAP, 4) The new strategies can be sent from RCM tool into SAP by creating a "Master Data Request" notification with the textual content, 5) Improve the RCM to SAP link by crating the header level task lists and maintenance plans, 6) Improve the transfers of spare parts used in SAP PM and 7) Improve the contents of Task Lists with maintenance plan contents also.
Several companies do not go all the way down to a full integration. RCM requires consistent and detailed master data, disciplined approach to capture details of failures (and classical RCM wants users to capture functional failures, failure modes).
What I suggest is start reading SAE standards and read the bible of RCM (RCM II by Moubray).
Don't forget, every client may have different approaches depending on their asset portfolio. Some may find it expensive and resource sucking. Some may find it mandatory for certain assets.
Applying RCM is not just a simple interfacing issue. It requires several details to be captured in SAP.
RCM becomes more and more successful when the maintenance teams get more and more experience as well as when they capture more and more failure information.

What is the neetest way to create a SAP-SAP interface?

Hi Experts,
For a customer I have to realise a SAP CRM -> SAP link and vice versa via XI. For me this is the first time to realise such an interface, my idea is to do it like this:
1) create a function to extract the data from SAP CRM, via abap-proxy to XI and then again via abap-proxy to receiving SAP-system. But then how do I trigger starting this extract-function? Via batchjob?
2) create a download-program that selects the data from SAP-CRM, creates a file and stores in specific folder. XI polls on this folder, reads it in and communicates via abap-proxy to SAP2. For selecting the CRM data a a batchjob will be created that starts the abap to select the data.
But..is this the way to do it? Or is there a nicer way?

Approcah 1 looks fine ABAP proxy to ABAP proxy. You can schedule the report as background job and automate the complete process. With this even error handling during this communication, alerts are clean
