SAP Livecache automatic log backup turning off

Hi,
We have set automatic log backup ON for our livecache. Recently, it got turned off automatically.
We found that our filesystem to which the archive files were getting generated during log backups had got full.
My question is, if the filesystem where log backups are archived gets full does the setting of automatic log backup gets turned
OFF automatically? Please suggest,
Rg,
Sandeep.

Yes, that is expected behaviour. If the database can't back up logs to a directory it gets turned off. You'll have to release space and turn it on manually.

• Run shutdown oc4j instance automatically when user Turn off/Log off

Hi All,
Can you help me anyone to run the shutdown oc4j instance automatically when user Turn off/Log off the application or the computer?
I want to use any Schema level trigger if possible to solve the issue.
I am using oracle Developer Suite 10g and Database 10g as well.

Ah, sorry I misunderstood your question (probably not enough coffee in the morning); anyway there are folders for scripts which should be executed on startup / shutdown or logon / logoff:
Startup
%SYSTEMROOT%\System32\GroupPolicy\Machine\Scripts\StartupShutdown
%SYSTEMROOT%\System32\GroupPolicy\Machine\Scripts\ShutdownLogon
%SYSTEMROOT%\System32\GroupPolicy\User\Scripts\LogonLogoff
%SYSTEMROOT%\System32\GroupPolicy\User\Scripts\LogoffWrite a script to startup / shutdown your OC4J (probably calls to startinst.bat and stopinst.bat) and place them in the apropriate folders.

• APO Livecache DB Backup and Livecache Auto Log Backup

Hi Guys,
Could you please help me here which tranaction code we use to check APO Livecache DB Backup and Livecache Auto Log Backup
Thank you

Hi,
Livecache DB and log back up looks like can not be accessed from SAP. Database Manager GUI is used.
Please check the below link for helpful information.

• Automatic log backup to pipe

Hi SAPers
I have problem with maxdb (content server). Is it possible to activate automatic log backup to pipe? We are backuping through Tivoli on tapes. Backup media are created and manual backups are working fine but i am not able to activate automatic log backups! Always when I am activating this the file instead of pipe is created in /sapdb/RDB/backup directory and backup is not performed.
In the Note 869267 - FAQ: MaxDB LOG area I found out that it is not possible to activate automatic log backups to pipe is it true?
Thanks in advance
JM

Hello JM,
What database version are you running?
You already found the note 869267, which gave you answer on the question "24. Can the log area be saved to a pipe? ". The SAP note 869267 also give you the answer on the question "26. How do I archive the log backup files generated?
"Is it possible to activate automatic log backup to pipe?"
*No.
And it's true, that "Automatic log backups to a pipe CANNOT be supported at present" , as it was explained in the SAP note 869267.
But you could run the interactive log backups to a pipe.
In general you could find the information/documents at https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/maxdb
-> The Complete SAP MaxDB Documentation Set -> Open the SAP MaxDB 7.7 Library
-> Database Administration-> Backing Up the Database

i'm getting this warning, but i dont know where is it located.please let me know, where should i rectify this?
WRN: Assembly binding logging is turned OFF.
To enable assembly bind failure logging, set the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog] (DWORD) to 1.
Note: There is some performance penalty associated with assembly bind failure logging.
To turn this feature off, remove the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog].

Hello,
This seems not related to SQL Server but more related to Fusion or a missing DLL. The following resources may help you:
http://blog.mediawhole.com/2010/08/enable-fusion-assembly-binding-logging.html

Please verify if a missing DLL is specified before the "WRN: Assembly binding logging is turned OFF" message.
Hope this helps.

• Automatic archival is turned off...

Hi every one,
I am running an Oracle 8i database, which is in archive log mode.

because many users are connected.Try to do manual archiving like
ALTER SYSTEM ARCHIVE LOG ALL;
The you still have to set log_archive_start to TRUE on your spfile then restart when you have a chance . Its just a pain to keep doing this through the day so you may want to schedule this until you can restart. Hopefully the missed parameter is the only problem why the redo logs can not be written and not any file permissions.

• Archieve log mode Turn off

hi Experts ,
i have some doubts please clarefy me-->(at the time of client refresh in remote client copy)
1) why we are going to turn off Archieve log mode for client Refresh--> is it necessary
2) why we need to stop instance before Turn off Archieve log mode ..is it necessary to stop instance
3) in my test run it shows non-critical differences in the table structures --> i got this message what can i do , is that an error or just an information ..can i do client refresh
please reply me
Regards

Hi,
> 1) why we are going to turn off Archieve log mode for client Refresh--> is it necessary
Because client copy do read/write/delete very heavily as a result frequency of archive log will be more. So your archive directory will be frequently filled up and also your speed of writing will be very slow. Thats why, it is suggested to turn off archiving during client copy.
> 2) why we need to stop instance before Turn off Archieve log mode ..is it necessary to stop instance
You cannot turn off archiving when instance is up. You can only turn off archiving in mount state.
> 3) in my test run it shows non-critical differences in the table structures --> i got this message what can i do , is that an error >or just an information ..can i do client refresh
>
If it is not critical then you can run client copy.
Thanks

• Will apps still get updated automatically if I turn off push notifications for the App store?

I like that my apps currently get updated automatically, but I don't really want to see it. If I turn off all alerts/notifications for it, in Settings > Notification Center, will the automatic updates still happen?

To answer the question: Yes, the App Store will continue auto-updating all apps, even if you turn off all notifications/alerts for the App Store, and move it down to the "DO NOT INCLUDE" section in Settings > Notification Center

You should be clear about things that when you read notes from web, there can be a language mismatch. So the best is that search first over the oracle docs.
Now about your doubt, its a terminology mismatch which is happening here. To enable Flashback Database feature which is more persistent copy of the undo data , stored seperately in a FLB file, you MUST have to have archivelog mode configured in your db. Without this, you can't enable the Flashback Database feature. And you can't switch to noarchive log mode as well if you have Flashback Database mode on.
The other thing ( which I guess Anurag was mentioning ) is the normal Flashback feature which relies on Undo data stored in the undo tablespace. This solely is based on teh undo data and doesn't depend on the archive/nonarchive log mode of the database. But this is limited to that data and to that time period up till which you can store the undo data in your undo tablespace.

• Why does the "set automatically" button keep turning off in the my date & time area of my settings? When it is off I can not use facetime or imessages.keep during off on my iPad?

I wasn't able to use FaceTime or iMessages and found out it was because the "set auomatically" button was off under date & time in the settings area. Why does tha button turn off?

I wouldn't suggest going to get it yourself. You could find yourself in a situation you cannot get out of and could get hurt. Second, as stated before, it is more for misplaced or lost devices, not stolen devices. Many police agencies do not feel they have probable cause, just from your statement on a map location to justify attempts to recover the device. There have been many posts from others who have had devices stolen where the police will not confront someone based on that map location. I understand you are impacted by the theft, but this is what we have insurance for. To protect your content, from now on I suggest you put a passcode on the device. I hope you have changed all of the passwords for accounts you had on the device, since all of your content and data was accessible to the thief.

• Install itunes, but computer always automatically restart after turning off

Dear all,
I have a question for my computer (window XP). I have installed the itunes, and it worked well. However, when I turn off my computer, the computer doesn't turn off, it restart again. and the computer say my computer has error. I have tried many times, and the situation is the same. But after I uninstall the itunes. I can turns off my computer. So How can I fix it, thank you very much

So not a issue with the Windows installation. That suggests a conflict between iTunes and another program or driver that is ramifying through to the startup trouble.
Do you have a version of iTunes of any sort on the PC? If so, in that version, in iTunes go "Help > Run Diagnostics. Leave all four boxes checked, and click "Next".
When you get through to the final screen, click the "Copy to clipboard" button and paste the results into a reply here.

I have a game app that I just bought but when I looked in my settings under iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage then under Documents & Data I noticed that game had used some iCloud space. I have iCloud backup off but in settings>iCloud Documents & Data is on along with few other ones like Contacts, Calendars, Reminders...etc. I'm curios if this game app is using the 5 gigabytes of free space I have that's not even on for backup? What documents & data actually get stored when Documents & Data are turned on? I totally understand the Contacts, Reminders, Bookmarks, Notes, Photostream...etc but somebody explain please what Documents & Data stores. The weather app that came with my iPhone 4s will sync with my iPod touch 4th generation weather app that it came with also. For example, if I add a city like Las Vegas on my iPhone then when I go to my iPod Touch, Las Vegas will be there as well. Also for example if i restore my iPhone or iPod touch clean, the weather data all appears there. All the cities that I've added for weather are there.

• Is there any way to log off automatically from a WIFI connection every time the device is turned off or goes into sleep mode.

I have a bunch of Apple devices in my house (kids) and don't like the idea of all these devices (iPads, iPod touches, iPhones) always being connected to my home WIFI. Ideally, I would prefer the devices connect automatically when they are in use by a human and log off the network when they (the devices) go to sleep mode or are turned off.

This is not an answer, more of a question. I know that when a pad goes to sleep, it drops the connection. We all remember the thousands of posts from folks who had trouble re establishing the connection after waking up in the early days. What is different now is the use of push, and notifications. If you have these enabled, doesn't that mean that the wifi needs to stay active?
I notice that I have notifications on the screen that came in while asleep, and I can only believe that the wifi saw them. This is different from the old behavior or re grabbing the wifi.
So, to Pam, on one the devices you are concerned about, turn off notifications, fetch and push, put it to sleep, and see if it drops off the network. I am kind of curious.
By the way, having the wifi active has not shown me any battery usage. The router certainly does not care. Security is at the router end, so if somebody wants to hijack my signal, it does not matter if the pad is active or not. So I guess I am not clear either on what your issue might be.
