SAP logon 640 help files

Hi can anyone tell how should i instal application help & sap library to the front end. I have sap logon 640 version. I downloaded from sap-market but now I am unable to get application help when i do F1. How to activate my sap library and application help for my front end??

Hi Supriya,
Welcome to SDN. You can find some help documents at <b><DRIVE + PATH>\50072743_4\DVD_6.40C3_Pres._Serv._Comp._Cont.Serv\PRES1\DOCU</b>
This is good enough for using the Front End.
Refer your other thread for more information.
SAP logon 640 help files missing in my system
Hope this will solve your problem.

  • SSO with SAP logon tickets to non-SAP web app

I am trying to implement SSO to an oracle portal based web application using SAP logon tickets, but can't seem to find a way for it to work.  I thought maybe it would be a web server filter, but am unsure if this would work for oracle portal.  Anyone tried similar?

    Hi Cindy,
If it is EP6 SP2 probably you can checkout the following document.

  • Modification to SAP Logon Cannot be written to INI file

    Hi,
When i am trying to create a New Item in SAP logon it is giving an error "Modification to SAP logon could not be Written to INI file
    Check permission for file 'C:\Windows'.
The problem is that, this is showing even when i m logged in as "XXXADM".
I have Reinstalled the SAP GUI, but the problem is as it is.
    OS: WINDOWS 2003 server
    Database: Oracle.
    Please help me.
    Thanks in advance,
    Sharib

I had this same problem under a VISTA Enterprise client setup.  I tried all the various recommendations, including setting the SAPLOGON_INI_FILE environment variable to point to c:\windows\saplogon.ini.  None of these changes worked, I even modified the file ownership to match up with my logged on user without success.
I then looked at the shortcut for launching SAPLOGON, and tried to set the shortcut to run as an Administrator.  That option was greyed out.  I deleted the shortcut, and re-created it.  Still unable to save changes.  I then set the new SAPLOGON shortcut to execute as the administrator, and once I confirmed that I trusted the program, everything is now working as it should.
Not content to leave it this way, I moved my saplogon.ini file OUT of the c:\windows directory and instead placed it in the directory pointed to by %USERPROFILE%\saplogon.ini .  I updated the environment variable setting and also removed the falg to execute the shortcut as the system administrator.
Now everything is working as it should without any special hoops -- seems that even with full access, VISTA security would not let a domain user that was part of the PC's Administrators account to edit the file w/o running as the system administrator.

  • Help File not displaying with in SAP

    Hi
Im trying to get the help file to work in SAP.
i Have looked at where SAP is fetching the file and i have placed it there.
But when i go into SAP and press F1 i get an error message ...
"Navigation to the webpage was canceled
       What you can try:
         Retype the address. "
Can anyone please help me with this one as to why it is not working?
    Thanks

    Dear Jonathan,
Could you please try the following steps :-
o Change the Help Settings from 'Shared Folder' to 'Local
Installation' under Help => Help Settings.
o Business One will then look for the Help folder on the local B1
Client and not on the B1 Server.
o This will only work if the B1 Client has the Help folder locally
    installed.
o If not this could be manually copied from SBO_SHR directory to
    the client.
o Alternatively all the B1 Clients will need to be reinstalled.

  • Help File to Be Integrated with Sap System

    Dear sir
Please get me how to integrate the help file[ERP 2004 help ] with SAP System. I M Not able to get the help from the system the error it throw is no document available i want the help of .chm file so is there any way to integrate that file with SAP system so that we can cget help from sap system itself
    I m Using ECC 5.0
    Regards
    Ashish

you can place (install) the help files on any machine you want, at least it has a web server on it.
you can then specify the "Server Name" and "Path" in SR13 to this server (e.g. Server Name = mywebserver.mycompany.com:1080, Path = helpdata)
the clients open the associated program to the extension of the files (in case of .chm and .html it would be most likely the Internet Explorer)

  • Unable to see SAP Help files properly

    Hi,
I had downloaded some SAP help documents (.chm) files. I am unable to view the contents. The tree view in the left side is coming but when I click any of the topics, 'Action Cancelled' message is displayed in the right side pane. I am using Windows 2000 Professional with Service pack 4. But when I run the same thing on a machine with Windows XP, its showing the contents properly. What can be done in Win 2000 to sort out this problem?
Can any one help me out.
    Thanx in advance.
    With Regards,
    Ram.

    Hi,
I found the solution for the help file problem.
The following is the registry entry one will be required to make in order to view the help file properly. This is because of a windows patch which is targetted at closing the loopholes thru which a malecious code can attack the system. So use it carefully. The path I have given should be replaced with your own where the actual files are placed.
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\HTMLHelp]
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\HTMLHelp\1.x\ItssRestrictions]
    "UrlAllowList"="

  • SAP 4.7 IDES help files

    Hello All,
I have 4.6c IDES help files but can somebody post the link for 4.7 IDES help files please? Otherwise please let me know  if they are available from somewhere like by ordering from SAP shop etc.
    Thanks and regards,
    Bhupendra

    Hi,
In my opion, IDES 4.7 is 4.7 with transaction and demo data inside.
So Online help is not thing if you are concerning about it.
The best way for you to learn, is how to use display transaction data in IDES, and most important of all how to use technical document in IDES.
So help for IDES 4.7 is not worthy for SAP to make a new help package. I hope I am explaining in right way.
    Hope this help.

The problem stems from the CHM file not being able to to viewed over a network connection. Use HHREG to unblock the file. Its very self explanatory once you start the tool.

  • SSO to SAP via SAP Logon Group

    Hi,
I've tried to configure SSO to SAP via SAP logon group. When trying this I'll get the following error:
Connect to message server failed Connect_PM MSHOST=<server>, R3NAME=IB1, GROUP=IB1_Web LOCATION CPIC (TCP/IP) on local host ERROR The message received isn't from a message server. Are you really connected to the message server? Please check your connection parameters. (<server> / sapmsIB1) TIME Tue Dec 16 16:48:49 2008 RELEASE 640 COMPONENT MS (message handling interface, multithreaded) VERSION 4 RC -2
I've also configured the file services under winnt\system32\drivers\etc on the BO server with the following line:
    +sapmsIB1      443/tcp     +
Is there anything I'll have to configure too? Or what does this error mean? The server which I have tried to reach is a message server.
    Thanks in advice.
    Claudia

    HI Ingo,
yes I can connect with SAP GUI via message server and application server. I can also connect with BO via sso to the application server. Only the message server failed.
I have now found out that I had the wrong port. But also the right port doesn't work. I have tested the port with telnet. The port is reachable.
    Thanks

  • SSO to Web Service using SAP Logon Ticket

    Hi,
I have to do SSO using SAP Logon Ticket between my portal and a Java Web Service that is accessible over internet. I do have the WSDL file of this Web Service.
    I want to know:
    1. What changes are required in Web Service to configure it to read and accept Logon Ticket?
    2. What am I supposed to do at portal end to enable this process?
    Thanks,
    Vivek

    Hi Vivek & Raja,
    > is it that if the WS is a third party WS and running on a Non-SAP J2EE Server,
    > we can't implement SSO from Portal to it using SAP Logon Ticket?
Right, if you cannot extend it's functionality, how should it do the ticket verification...
    @Raja:
    > SAP Logon Ticket is for authenticating to a SAP system, since yours in a
    > thirdparty ws, there is not need of SAP logonticket.
On the other hand, that's not true. It is possible as well as often done to verify the SSO ticket on some third party system. This is also supported, for Java as well as for other systems, different articles about such scenarios have been published, also here on SDN.
    Hope it helps
