Hi,
Just check whether your having "SAProuter String:" in your logging?
If it's not there ask from your Basis to send it to you.

  • How to merge multipal saplogon.ini files..

    How can I merge the multiple saplogon.ini files if system is on Domain?

    We are merging two SAP Logon.ini file. The common file I placed in c:windows and the users own entries are in saplogon.ini in the %appdata%commonSAP directory. And by using note 1426178 pkt. 5, we set ConfigFileOnServer to c:
    Now the user can create own entries in own saplogon.ini, and not change entries in the common saplogon.in I c:windows.
    If you update the common file, you just have to replace the file in c:windows.

  • SAP Logon

    Good morning everyone,
    I have got SAP GUI 7.10 (PL2 - All components) installed.
    We are not live yet with SAP and I am pretty new to SAP.
    I have been asked to standardise out SAP GUI ini file and I am after best practices or recommendations from more experienced BASIS administrators:
    Should the Production users be able to add, update and delete their System Entries? If not how can I disable it?
    Should I create System Entries or Shorcuts Entries? What are the main differences?
    Some development will require the SAP GUI ini file to be standardised as some functionality will be linked to the SAP GUI.
    I am thinking about creating 4 System entries and numbering them:
    1-Production
    2-Solution Manager
    3-QAS
    4-DEV
    Some key users may need access to all or once we go live some users will only need access to Production.
    Is there a way of disabling these entries (greyed out on the Logon) without creating/issuing different saplogon.ini?
    Any answers/suggestions will be welcomed.
    I am really after the best standards practices.
    Thank you
    Corinne

    Hi Corinne,
    Let's see,
    <b>Should the Production users be able to add, update and delete their System Entries? If not how can I disable it?</b>
    You can make them use SAPlogon Pad instead of SAPlogon so they can't change the entries.
    <b>Should I create System Entries or Shorcuts Entries? What are the main differences?</b>
    You should create System entries, shortcuts are like bookmarks is IE, basically they take you to a specific system/instance while System will take you through logon group or to wherever you system entry is configured to take you.
    <b>Some development will require the SAP GUI ini file to be standardised as some functionality will be linked to the SAP GUI.</b>
    I'll create a saplogon.ini for developers/admis and one for end users
    <b>Is there a way of disabling these entries (greyed out on the Logon) without creating/issuing different saplogon.ini?</b>
    Not that i know... basically you should have a saplogon.ini for each target group depending on their needs.
    The best way to have full control of SAPGui is using a SAP Frontend Gui Installation Server (I thinks thats what is called) basically you can create sapgui packages and deploy them to target user groups depending on their tasks and basically any changes to the saplogon can be done automatically from there.
    Hope this help

  • Modification to SAP Logon Cannot be written to INI file

    Hi,
    When i am trying to create a New Item in SAP logon it is giving an error "Modification to SAP logon could not be Written to INI file
    Check permission for file 'C:\Windows'.
    The problem is that, this is showing even when i m logged in as "XXXADM".
    I have Reinstalled the SAP GUI, but the problem is as it is.
    OS: WINDOWS 2003 server
    Database: Oracle.
    Please help me.
    Thanks in advance,
    Sharib

    I had this same problem under a VISTA Enterprise client setup.  I tried all the various recommendations, including setting the SAPLOGON_INI_FILE environment variable to point to c:\windows\saplogon.ini.  None of these changes worked, I even modified the file ownership to match up with my logged on user without success.
    I then looked at the shortcut for launching SAPLOGON, and tried to set the shortcut to run as an Administrator.  That option was greyed out.  I deleted the shortcut, and re-created it.  Still unable to save changes.  I then set the new SAPLOGON shortcut to execute as the administrator, and once I confirmed that I trusted the program, everything is now working as it should.
    Not content to leave it this way, I moved my saplogon.ini file OUT of the c:\windows directory and instead placed it in the directory pointed to by %USERPROFILE%\saplogon.ini .  I updated the environment variable setting and also removed the falg to execute the shortcut as the system administrator.
    Now everything is working as it should without any special hoops -- seems that even with full access, VISTA security would not let a domain user that was part of the PC's Administrators account to edit the file w/o running as the system administrator.

  • INI file preference not being followed - Regarding SAP Note 1409494

    Hi,
    Following SAP Note 1409494, it seems like there is a preference over locations of INI files.
    I have setup on my Citrix servers, the environment variable (SAPLOGON_INI_FILE) pointing to a central location of INI file.
    The problem is that in the same server there is the BW logon pad that requires a different set of configurations, therefore a second INI file.
    When I try to use the first option on the note (command line parameter /INI_FILE) pointing to a second INI file, it uses the one on the environment variable.
    Is that the way it's supposed to work???
    Is there a way to bypass this?
    Thanks!

    Hello Vijith,
    I guess you are talking about <a href="https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1034932">note 1034932</a>. It is currently being changed, what it will basically say is:
    If you put the jars somewhere in /usr/sap and later on upgrade the engine you will actually loose the entire folder and will have to copy the jar files again.
    As a permanent solution you could define an <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/ee/0618d0899001408d821096c85ff8a2/frameset.htm">HTTP Alias</a> on the engine (not an application alias but an http alias) which will point to a folder on the file system outside the /usr/sap folders.
    After that just set JavaGuiCodeBase for the applet to whatever you chose for the http alias name.
    If you have suggestions to further improve the note, please let us know.
    Best regards

  • C:windows\saplogon.ini file error

    Hi Experts,
    I have SAPGUI 7.10 systems and whenever I add new SAP Server in SAP Logon Pad, a corresponding entry is created in C:\WINDOWS\SAPLOGON.INI file.
    But in some system, part of file content is as below:
    Server
    Item1=
    Item2=XXXXX
    Item3=YYYYY
    Item4=AAAAA
    Item5=BBBBB
    where in xxx, yyyy,aaa,bbb are the application server IP.
    But here Item1= <space> as shown.
    For other user systems, item1 corresponds for first entry of logon pad as expected.
    Server
    Item1=XXXXX
    Item2=YYYY
    Item3=AAAA
    Item4=BBBBB
    And I am getting an error if I try at system with item1=<space>.
    Can you tell why this space is inserted on some system and not on others?
    Thanks
    Depesh.

    Hi,
    I am using sapgui 7.10 with patch level 14.
    There is a space shown in all the systems and this creating a problem while executing an SAP shortcut by saying no system description found as it tries to search for a description from saplogon.ini. even if it exists but with a space for item1.
    nobody has manually changed the saplogon.ini file.
    if i manually remove the space then add server list again or i copy the file with no space from somebody system then it works without error.
    But i cannot copy and replace this file if i have 1000+ user working on a solution having their saplogon.ini file with item1=space.
    Kindly suggest some automated process to ensure the space removal.
    thanks

  • SAPLOGON.INI file

    Dear All,
                  I had installed SAP LOGON 710, Patch Level 9 on Windows Vista OS. I am not able to find SAPLOGON.INI file. Normally it is in C:\Windows but it is not there. I had also search whole C:\ drive but it is not there.
                  I want to know the where the logon details are saved. if any one knows abt this please replay.
    Regards,
    Tejas Naik.

    Hi,
    did you search for SAPLOGON.INI?
    Do you have a local or a server-installation of SAPGUI?
    Regards, Dieter
    Another way i to look in LOGON-Pad in OPTIONS. There you can see what saplogon.ini is used.

  • Logon.ini (or comparable) on Linux

    Hello,
    I installed SAP on RedHat, I can open the logon window and go to the preferences. I insert my (windows) saplogon.ini as configuration file and get inthe logon pad only 'Item60=p' and so on. When I choosing an entry I'm getting a Exception in my shell.
    How do I have to administrate this file for Linux?
    I'm sorry I could only find the entry ask your system admin in help.
    Thanks & Best Regards
    Jessi81

    Hi,
    saplogon.ini will not work with SAP GUI for Java.
    you need to add the logon entry in "connections" file which is located in users home directory..
    just edit the below file with any text editor..
    /home/user/.SAPGUI/connections
    and add the entry like :
    conn=/H/<ip address>/S/32<system ID>
    Then you can see the entry in SAP Logon.

  • Error while importing logon par file

    Hi
    I have to do logon page customisation for that i have taken com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par.bak file from basis team and i saved it to my desktop .Now i have renamed it to com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par and trying to import to my NWDS.
    So i opend EP perspective file->import->browsed the par file in place of Archive file name when i click on finish it is showing the error "invalid END header(bad central directory offset).
    "The plugin com.sap.portal.plugins.config-archiver"caused an exception during the unpack operation.see log for more details"
    Can anybody please let me know the reason for this error .
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    After renaming com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par.bak to com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par. Try opening the file with winrar/winzip to see if you have a right par file structure. On some portal versions, when you open com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par file, you have again a com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par file inside it.
    So if you find com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par file inside com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par. Then just extract it again and try importing it into NWDS.
    Please refer to [link|NWDS Log - PAR import error;
    Hope this helps!!
    Thanks & Regards

  • SSO to SAP via SAP Logon Group

    Hi,

    I've also configured the file services under winnt\system32\drivers\etc on the BO server with the following line:

    Is there anything I'll have to configure too? Or what does this error mean? The server which I have tried to reach is a message server.
    Thanks in advice.
    Claudia

    HI Ingo,
    yes I can connect with SAP GUI via message server and application server. I can also connect with BO via sso to the application server. Only the message server failed.
    I have now found out that I had the wrong port. But also the right port doesn't work. I have tested the port with telnet. The port is reachable.
    Thanks

  • SSO to Web Service using SAP Logon Ticket

    Hi,
    I have to do SSO using SAP Logon Ticket between my portal and a Java Web Service that is accessible over internet. I do have the WSDL file of this Web Service.
    I want to know:
    1. What changes are required in Web Service to configure it to read and accept Logon Ticket?
    2. What am I supposed to do at portal end to enable this process?
    Thanks,
    Vivek

    Hi Vivek & Raja,
    > is it that if the WS is a third party WS and running on a Non-SAP J2EE Server,
    > we can't implement SSO from Portal to it using SAP Logon Ticket?
    Right, if you cannot extend it's functionality, how should it do the ticket verification...
    @Raja:
    > SAP Logon Ticket is for authenticating to a SAP system, since yours in a
    > thirdparty ws, there is not need of SAP logonticket.
    On the other hand, that's not true. It is possible as well as often done to verify the SSO ticket on some third party system. This is also supported, for Java as well as for other systems, different articles about such scenarios have been published, also here on SDN.
    Hope it helps
