Hello,
Welcome to SDN,
If you have access to SAP system or IDES.
Then if you want know which existing org structure can be used in system then,
There is two way:
- Checking existing org structure in use through accessing Table VBAK (TCode SE16).
OR
- if its a fresh IDES then
use TCode EC01.
click on Structure Button on organizational object company code screen.
click on Navigation Button organizational structure for company code screen
Accept the message
Double click on standard Company code 0001 or 1000.

SAP Master data migration tools

Hi,
I would like to know if any SAP standard tools which are available for all master data migration,Kindly share the same which is required for us now.
We have to migrate the data from legacy systems to SAP and we have to use only SAP Standard master data migration tools.

SAP migrates data from legacy system using standard tools like LSMW, BDC, BAPI. Under LSMW you will have Batch input, Batch recording, BAPI and IDOCs options. Depending upon requirement you can choose any one of them. BAPI is advisable instead of BDC method.
Also for utilities industry SAP has provided ISU Migration tool (EMIGALL).

Managing Org units and Master Data in project structure

How are Org units and Master data managed at the project structure? What would be the appropriate place holders for them in the structure. Should we manage it at the top of the project structure or within the business scenarios/processes. On what basis should we decide this? How would this impact in case of a global template rollout?
Please share your experiences regarding this.

i think that ur working in E2E project work
before singoff ur business process u should give to ur users master data templets..they collect for masterdatas in before realization phase...that time u should know how many specifications is there and in spections how many in quantitative and how many qualitative u will indentify. if any query let me back.

SAP MDM is master data management server. as in our SAP R/3 Customer Master, Vendor Master, Material Master, Etc. These Master Data we are maintained in conventional way means individual SAP R/3 and non-SAP itself.
However, these Master Data can store in single point source of truth and then distribute to all after consolidating the master record data. First, we will get the all Master Data (ex. Customer, Material, Etc) from Different sources (ex. SAP or non-SAP or DB) using the scenario
SAPR/3---> XI--> MDM (Outbound to SAP R/3 or Inbound to MDM)
Second,
Then we will do the all the necessary things in MDM.
Third, we will syndicate/ distribute the consolidated Master Data to all the Systems using this scenario
MDM-> XI-> SAPR/3 (Outbound to MDM or Inbound to SAP R/3)
what is acheived out here is data uniqueness acorss the system. this is one real world scenario

SAP master data analysis

Hi Experts,
I have given activity to analyze, validate and test bulk master datas in SAP system. How can I test data integrity and ensure all appropriate master datas are in place like customer, vendor, material in SAP are accurately maintained. Its not feasible to check each master record individually since data is in huge numbers. So is there a way to check them with less time and efforts?
Also I want to check the interaction of master data and its processes are properly meintained in SAP system.
Appreciate any piece of information.

This is an excellent question and I wish I had a good answer.
At my Customer sites, we try to check the business rules for integrity of master data through a mix of:
- User-exit when saving material master & partner master data
- ABAP reports
The objective is to check that the master data is correctly checked before it can be saved, but some validations can't be done in this way, so the Z* report(s) are still useful.
Maybe SAP has a standard application to solve the problem (PDM module?), but I am not aware of it.

I am not sure of how many companies implemented MDM in India. However the future of MDM is very bright as SAP is focussing a lot on this product and everyone is expecting good projects with the release of the latest version of MDM 7.1.

Hello Michelle,
First of all, MDM Admin UI and SRM-MDM Search UI both are in same sca file (SRMMDMCAT20SP03P05.sca) and there is another sca file with API and MDM Connector (MDMJAVAAPI06_2.sca).
Remember that files name might be change as per the business content version.
So there are two file which you need to deploy. You can deploy these two file on any Web Application Server (WAS 7.0 and Above) using Software Deployment Manager (SDM) of SAP NW AS J2EE installation.
For further information about these files, you can refer the SAP Note- 1057316 -- SRM-MDM Catalog 2.0 - Installation & Configuration.
For checking the successful deployment of these SCA files, you can check with the mentioned below URL:
http://ServerName:PortNo/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/tcmdmsrmcat~uisearch/MDM_SRM_UI_App
go to the above link, try to connect with the MDM Server which you have installed. After connecting the MDM Server, Choose your SRM-MDM Catalog repository and try to connect with the user as "Master" with blank pwd. If you are able to login in the repository, it means you have successfully deployed the correct sca files.

There are transaction Code for viewing the Product Hierarchy and Category.
The Transaction Code is <b>COMM_HIERARCHY</b>. You can find the details of the entire product in the following navigation details.

MASTER Data is the data that exists in the organization like employee details, material master, customer master, vendor master etc. These are generally created once.
Master data are distributed throughout the company, they are often not standardised and often redundant. As a result it is very costly to offer efficient customer service, keep track of supply chains and make strategic decisions. With SAP Master Data Management (SAP MDM) these important business data from across the company can be brought together, harmonised and made accessible to all staff and business partners. As a key component of SAP NetWeaver, SAP MDM ensures data integrity via all IT systems.
Regardless of the industry, companies often work with different ERP and Legacy systems. The result: the business processes are based on information about customers, partners and products which is displayed in different ways in the systems. If the data are recorded manually, there are more inconsistencies: some data sets are entered several times, others cannot be retrieved by all divisions of the company.
As corporate applications are becoming increasingly complex and produce ever greater amounts of data, the problem is intensified further. Nevertheless, your employees must work with the inconsistent data and make decisions on this basis.
